The doctors here are amazing

Great physicians!

Excellent communication, brilliant doctors, therapists and office staff. Processes are clear and easy to follow. Parents are included as valuable members of the care team. Billing is clear and questions are answered quickly. I cannot say enough about how happy I am to have the opportunity to work with Cortica through my son’s epilepsy journey.

Without Cortica, our child would not have the progress in her capabilities that we all enjoy today. Consistent and frequent visits with the team at Cortica has allowed our child to matriculate into General Ed, independently communicate and engage with her peers appropriately, and independently problem solve and self soothe. This team is the only team I would recommend overwhelmingly for speech, OT, and Neurofeedback. They have been a tremendous blessing to our family!

If you are a parent to a child with Autism or have a child with Special Needs, you know how hard it can be to navigate the journey. My child is not an autistic patient. He has epilepsy, which comes with its own behavioral challenges. We came to Cortica a year and a half ago at the recommendation of another epilepsy mom in San Diego after failing with 4 other neurologists. Cortica was the first clinic that treated my son’s behavior and not just his seizures. I tell everyone I know in the epilepsy community that it was an autism specialist who finally gave my son the care he needed. In towns like San Diego, where there aren’t many good pediatric epileptologists available, Cortica should widen its client base to include kids with epilepsy.

Im going to pass the buck here a bit, but read Phil Ohmes comments below. I couldnt say it any better. We had a very similar experience and I fully agree with him on every count.

Dr. Goh and her staff have literally changed our life. We have two children with autism and our younger son is non-verbal and has severe GI issues. We were told that he was “cognitively disabled”, a nice word for retarded, as he was not performing the tasks required of him at preschool. Dr. Goh assured us that was NOT true! Non-verbal does NOT mean stupid! (Turns out he was just bored at preschool.) Her whole system and “presume competence” approach made so much sense as she first tested him for underlying medical issues. Nobody EVER mentioned we should have blood and DNA tests done, ever! We were able to get an accurate picture of his health and she could prescribe the right supplements and medications. Also, her team is comprised of family counselors, music therapists, OTs, speech therapists, behavior therapists,etc, etc, not too mention she has the most cutting edge research and technology at her disposal. As everyone is on the same team- ALL his therapists can be on the same page and in agreement on his treatment plan. He is learning to type and we finally have a window into his world.... he is a genius! Intellectually disabled my ass! Autism parents mark my words.... Dr. Goh and her team will give you HOPE and RESULTS. Run, don’t walk, to her clinic today!
