The shop did not honor the coupon they had advertised for smog check. After I showed the coupon to an Asian gentleman named John, he was very rude and disrespectful about it and threw my smog paper along with the coupon off the counter, demanding full price. I ended up not getting the smog check done there as I did not want to reward bad attitude and horrible customer service.

Horrible place. The waiting room is decked out with Buddhist shrines with offerings of fruit and other things so you might think the place would be polite and courteous. You would be wrong. The person named John who runs the front of the business is hostile and aggressively rude. My first mistake was to pull in the driveway next to the business where I had just seen another car pull in. He came out cursing and told me to move my car. I asked why. He said you had to have an appointment. We had just called and were told to come right over. No mention of not pulling into the garage area.I said I would have made an appointment if I had known it was required. He said you could not make an appointment for a smog check! From there things went from bad to worse. He was yelling at everyone. Someone came in and asked about a car the same make and model as the person with me. I thought it was one of the workers looking for where he had parked his car. So I started to point to his car. John almost had a stroke. He started screaming at me that the guy was a tow truck operator and that he was not talking to me. Then I got mad and started yelling at him. He told me to get out. My friend stayed on a bit and finally got the smog check. We will never return. No price is low enough to make it worthwhile to put up with a sick and aggressive maniac.

It looks like they ruined my transmission due to negligence. Replaced fuel pump and tried to charge me 3 hrs for 3 bolts. The mechanic left a transmission line clamp off and tried to blame it on me. They did not check or replace lost transmission fluid due to the missing clamp. The transmission was empty when I checked it. I will still need to see what damage they caused to my transmission due to their negligence.

Hi,Its horrible place. They are cheater. I discussed with him 2 times over phone for bike mount. He confirmed that he will fix in 150$ and ask me to come over, it will take 2 hours. As I reached there1) Manager was already left for Lunch.2) We met with John, The person John was really rude and told that he will fix in 300$ instead of 150$ and you have to leave vehicle.3) When I called manager, first he told me to wait for 15 min.4) After 15 min again I called him. He told that he will fix in 300$.5) He waisted my whole hour with no point.They are giving attractive price to come over and then they denied what ever they committed over phone.Very bad experince.

PLEASE READ!!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! They will take advantage of you, over charge you, and give you faulty parts so you have to come back for more and then they will claim there’s more problems. Please save your money and go somewhere reputable. They seem nice, but that’s how they get you to believe them. They don’t honor their warranties either. They charged me triple on each thing I’ve needed and I brought my car back for them to fix the problem that they had claimed to originally fix, then they said it was something else and were going to charge me $1,000 for something that wasn’t even wrong. And another $500 for something else that wasn’t even wrong. Please don’t go here.

Terrible, waited 45 minutes and the guy didnt even talk to me. I ended up leaving, was not getting a reliable feeling from the guy there. It seemed like the other people there also had issues with the service, did not want to trust my car to these people, dont go here.

Took my car for smog while i was waiting outside they finished my car and smog guy parks my car on the street then the other guy asks for my key and he just throws my key to him and offcourse he was not able to catch the key and it hits the ground i was was standing there watching all this so i asked them why they throwing my key is it that hard to hand it to each other and be a little professional. The guy gets mad at me and infront of other coustomers throws my key again inside their office when i asked why he did that he said thats how they work over here when other coustomers saw it on lady asked them to take her car out of their shop and she didnt want to do any service with them, while and coustomer that they fixed his car came back complaining. BE CAREFUL DOING ANY SERVICE WITH THEM I READ SOME OF THEIR BAD REVIEWS DESCRIBING THEM AS SHADY AND THIEFS BUT I STILL WANTED TO GIVE EM A CHANCE NEVER AGAIN.

Been coming here since 2013. Same workers, same low prices, same office lobby without AC, same busyness. Today in 2020 $40 for a synthetic oil change. I come because close to home and quick service if you walk in early.(synthetic oil change was $25 when I first came as a poor college student but could have been just because man felt sorry for me. I still appreciate what they did for me back then, so I shall return in 6 months for my twice a year oil change)Update: 2020-W31, visited for another oil change. Still same price for my oil change, $40 synthetic. Arrived Saturday 1015 without appointment, car taken in around 1045, driving off by 1106. With my odo reading 53k, was recommended by mechanic to replace all my shocks and alignment for $850 out the door. Will consider and update at the next oil change

The dishonesty of this Vinny guy and his brother is very disgusting. I would discourage anyone who is reading comments to do business with them. It was used to be a place I did all my maintenance but I will never go there any more.I found a slow leaking on my tire (need air once a week) and go there asking for a check. This Vinny guy came up and did some checking. And then they asked someone to screw the tire valve and asked me to come back if the leaking was still on. I was kinda happy when I went out from there because he was acting very nicely and didn’t charge me anything. But now I realize that it was a complete setup. I left their store in the afternoon and found the tire pressure warning on just couple of hours later, which meant the tire pressure was leaking even faster.. so I went to their place again the next day and this Vinny guy said I had a bad tire pressure sensor. He said every time you have a flat tire, your sensor will be broken. I am really not a car man and don’t know too much about this. He talked to me in Cantonese (language from our hometown) and I trusted him. He charged me $130 for changing the sensor and said he gave me a discount because we spoke the same language. He also said that if the pressure was still low then I would need to change the frame and possibly a new set of tire since they were all ‘compromised’. This is where I found suspicious and illogic. But he walked away from my questions and refused to stop the process. Anyway, he took my $130 for the sensor and asked me to come back if it didn’t work. No surprise, with the new sensor, the pressure warning never came off. Therefore I scheduled the earliest appointment with another store, who later found a little nail in my tire that, according to them, was very obvious. And they also found my frame, tire, and the old pressure sensor (they threw it away but I picked it back) ALL WORKING NORMALLY but the sensor he changed for me was not working.As I am typing all these, I can picture his smiling face, talking nicely and lying. It’s just disgusting. What kind of family raised men like this and what kind of child they would have...I have paid my price for trusting the wrong people. Good luck.

Would love to recommend this place as I have had had good experiences personally.This all went down the drain when my girlfriend visited here herself, and was touched inappropriately by a staff member here when receiving her car back.Unacceptable, forever has lost my business and I will make sure nobody I cross paths with ever goes to this place.Edit: Went back the next day to help her get a receipt - the manager John is the one who behaved inappropriately.Potential customer beware.

They have no honesty or integrity. I went for an oil change and they said I should get the rear axles changed, which cost me $600. And that my exhaust pipe has holes in it which they will do welding for $150. I asked if they will use OEM parts for the axles and they confirmed yes. I got the services done by them. I should’ve gotten a second opinion.Right afterwards I noticed the car was leaking oil from the rear. I took it back to Save Auto and they didn’t admit any wrong doing but further gave me another quote to change the gauge on the differential for $400 more.I knew something was fishy. I took my car to the Lexus dealership to get it checked. Lexus service told me that Save Auto had put in ‘after-market axles’ with the wrong diameter and that’s why its leaking a lot of oil and that these axles will further damage the car more. So apparently ‘Save Auto’ took my $3000 Lexus axles and replaced it with $300 after-market axles. I went back to Save Auto to get my original parts back which was not easy. First he said that he recycled them. Then when I told him I will call the Bureau of Automotive Repair and the BBB, then he went back and brought out the parts. Lexus service then inspected the original axles and said that there was nothing wrong with them and they function perfectly fine, just needed to be cleaned of the grease. I had to pay Lexus service the labor cost to put back my original axles.Seems like Save Auto was probably were going to sell my original Lexus axles on eBay or something.Also, Lexus service also verified that the welding they did on the exhaust pipe was not good, air was still leaking out. So I had to take my car to a muffler shop to get it done properly.Save yourself a lot of agony and pain and don’t go here. I lost a lot of money!!

The guys at Save Auto are great!!! Quick service. Extremely competitive pricing. Theyre honest mechanics who dont push you into stuff you dont need and they get the work done at very cost effective rates and in a timely fashion. The only place in San Diego that I get work done on my cars. Highly, highly recommended. SMOG check price and service is probably the best in all of SD or the surrounding counties.

I TOOK THE KEYS AWAY FROM MY 93 YEAR FATHER AND HAD A KEY MADE SO HIS FORD EXPLORER WOULD TURN ON BUT NOT CRANK OVER.WELL HE CALLED AAA AND HAD THE CAR TOWED OVER TO SAVE AUTO.THEY TOLD HIM HE NEEDED A STARTER AND PUT ONE IN, GUESS WHAT IT STILL WOULD NOT CRANK OVER. THEN THEY TOLD HIM IT WAS A FUSE AND WOULD HAVE THE CAR READY THE NEXT DAY AND HAD HIM PAY $400.00 (FOR A STARTER HE DIDNT NEED,) I WENT THERE TO PICK UP THE CAR AND TOLD THEM WHAT I HAD DONE. THEY HAD TWO KEYS MADE AND TOLD HIM IT COST $200.00. SO NOW THEY GAVE HIM $200.00 CREDIT ON THE NEXT REPAIR. THERE SHOULDNT HAVE BEENANY WORK DONE TO MY FATHERS CAR. THERE LUCKY I DONT HAVE THEM ARRESTED FOR ELDER ABUSE AND FALSE AUTOMOTIVE PRACTICING.

You get what you pay for! I went in for an basic oil change, they didnt attach the oil filter correctly. two days later my engine was damaged. They admitted it was their fault but refused to fix the damage. Instead gave me a free oil change and repair estimate of $2400 to repair the damage they caused. The estimate was $500 more than other local shops?Ive always taken great care of my car inside and out. A 15 minute oil change at MIRA MESA Automotive, all that effort was worthless. My cars engine ruined, I dont have time or the money for small claims court or to fix it.The staff offered a solution, sell the car, less? the repair fee! I swear that was the solution for ruining my cars engine.Theyve proven to have no ethical integrity and its a toss up wether your car is being repaired or set up for more damages etc... best to avoid them...

I have been bringing my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis to Save Auto for two years and am greatly satisfied. Vin and the mechanics have always readily and accurately diagnosed any problems for which I did not already have recommendations. Their prices are about 1/3 of the dealer charges. Vin knows how long a repair takes without looking it up. They have done work while I wait on the spot and they have given me shuttle rides to and from home. Since my car is older they have rebuilt parts when appropriate to save me money. All of their work has held up perfectly. I am very appreciative of their work and highly recommend them.

Very cheap compared to most repair places. Owner will often hook it up if full repair total is paid in cash. Good auto body shop, requires double checking every time I get my vehicle back from them because of sloppy work / lacking attention to detail on a paint job.

I used to be a long time customer, but then the last time I got my oil change purple synthetic on a BMW 2001 X5 my vehicle lasted only 3000 miles before building up mucus like residue in my oil tank. I went to a different auto shop and they told me and showed me that my old filter wasnt even changed at the last oil change. So 1. They used regular oil instead of Full synthetic and 2. They didnt even change my oil filter. I used to trust this place, no Ive lost faith, not going back

Id like to call them $750 auto instead of save auto.Ive been here three times.First, ac doesnt work, and I recognized its not regarding to ac oil. But they recommand me to fill up ac oil first w/$75.Second, when I asked then to replace fan belt, they told me there was huge oil leak at the engi e, and need to change gasket. When I told them Ive already changed gasket, they told me there was another gasket what cost $750Third, I asked them a smog check to sell my car, and my car was fail the test due to leak at PVC valve, and they asked me to fix it with $750. But when I ask it to other repair shop, its around $30 to fix it.They look like cheap place at first, but ask you pay a lot more than what you exact to need.I will never recommand here to anybody.

I was refered to them by a friend, went to them twice and had bad experiences both times. The first time they cracked my bumper and the second time they diagnosed my car wrong. I went in for a simple compression test because I had a check engine light on and they told me my injectors were bad and wanted $1000 to change all four. I didnt have them change it out but I had to change them myself because they tore two seals on my injectors and fuel was shooting out from those two. I brought all four for less than $200 and they were pretty much plug and play. It turns out that my car had a burnt valve so they didnt even run a compression test and charged me for it. On top of their incompetence they are extremely pushy. Please dont bring your car here, you will not find honest nor good mechanics here.

Went in for a Oil Change and it ended up costing me $600.00 to repair an axle, my car is old so I expect these things but when leaving my tire was low so I had them fill it, next morning its low again. When checking out their was a dying rat on the counter. I should have gotten a second opinion on this problem, so watch out...

I went to this place yesterday to check my engine light. Left the car so they can check and let me know. I recieved a call after 20 minutes saying my transmission needs replacement and will cost $3000. I took my car to another repair shop and they checked the engin and showed me exposed wires because of rats getting inside the engine and showed me their droppings and fixed my car for $105. I wont recommend or go to this place. They are dishonest people. Ive been there before for body job. Their price was cheap but they did a really poor quality job. Stay away from this place!

Been going there for years for smog tests, first time I ever had work done it was fast and inexpensive, second time I had front brakes done, again the work was done fast but a little pricey, when I went back cuzz brakes were sceeking, they found nothing wrong but told me I needed back brakes, and four motor mounts, price quoted for all work was $ 800when I came home to think about it and.secure funds, I was told to get second opion and see if I can get lesser estimate, second mechanic when I did go another estimate what was discovered was a shock,not only did I not need motor mounts but car only has 3, and the back brakes still.have 80% of rubber on them. also I was told I needed and paid for new rotors, and the ones put were rebuild, I always thought Vinny was my friend and honest, now Im thinking differentlyI will not be using Save Auto any longer, Im very disapointed in Vinny.

Ive been to this place a handful of times & the last few times have been a disappointment. I was referred by a friend, so I gave them a couple more chances. Unfortunately, I wont go back. The time before last I took my car in due to my car periodically not starting then it completely died until I jumped it. They quickly got me in, but didnt diagnose the problem & had to pay over $500 for a starter. Just recently (2 mths or so later) my car had the same problem. They gave me a loaner car which was nice, but quickly called to say its the battery. I dont think I had my battery for more than 3yrs. Wanted to charge me $95 but after I argued & said how do u know its not the alternator he quickly said the battery is bad & Ill charge $75. This place seems shady. Im not goin back. Probably didnt even need a starter. Urg!

I visited this shop today the second time, I was totally unhappy about it this time.I went into the shop at 9:30 because I hear some noise when I reverse, it mostly because no much grease between the break hardware and the break pad -- I know that because I changed the break pad myself, also searched internet (but I dont want to fix it myself anymore because I am busy and tired recently).However after inspection, they claimed it is because rotor is no good, I told them that I dont believe so, but if it is true I just want the problem rotor to be machined and apply some grease between break pad and break hardware and I have a meeting to catch at 11am, the old brother was ok, however the younger brother almost force me to replace two rotor even after I insisted No 4 times, and more outrageous, after waiting long time (they needed to order rotor) and the rotor were installed (thats at 11:30am), the younger brother told me that he cant guarantee the noise is gone because rotor has nothing to do with noise -- which I think it is true at the beginning because now the noise is gone after I asked them to apply some grease between break pad and break hardware, -- the rotoer shouldnt be replace anyway since the old rotor is still in good shape.I was thinking about become a long time customer for them, now I would think three time before I visit them.

Went in for a smog on my Nissian Altima last week. was approached by vinny very professional. He was able to get me in and out with no problems. i will be back with my c300 benz thanks vinny and staff.

They are lying oriental theives,if you arent jappanese or asian or chinese dnt trust them i have been getting my oil changed here for a couple years no problems but i had my car diagnosed by them to see what was wrong with my truck, and they told me i had leaks transmission oil burning replace this replace that and $1500 in service needed to be done with my truck and i said i will hold off untill i can get more money and he lowerd the price $300 as i was walking out the door to try and catch me, took my truck to another shop diagnosed it and all that was wrong was i needed new spark plugs and battery terminals cheap $100 fix.....

This is worse store I never see.No honesty!No idea why the boss allow his works drive my car without my agreement !Its almost take 200 mile, only reason i hear from boss is they have to make sure my bumpers is fix.Whats ridiculous thinking???By the way, why I know this, because when I go to bank, I saw the works drive my car at the same time!

The website makes it sound like they are STAR certified, but they arent. The hours on the website said they open at 7:30 on Saturdays; there are no posted hours, but employees didnt start showing up until 7:50 and they unlocked the front door at 8. I tried to tell the man that the website said they said they are STAR certified, but he cut me off and went on to the next customer.

I have to pay 20 dlls for a cheap tire repair, when I use to pay 10, for a better job, at least I dont recommend the tires service
