Everything about our experience was amazing. The staff was very helpful and made booking, getting there and checking in quick and easy. The Captain was amazing and knew things about San Diego, the bay, ships in the bay and more that those of us who have lived here most of our lives didnt know. He took great care of us and was fabulous. The Bali 4.3 is an amazing boat and all of our guest were thrilled they were chosen to join us for the day. Thank you West Coast Multi Hulls for making this special day so memorable.

My husband and I took the ASA 104/114 combo course in San Diego and LOVED it! The FP 36 Catamaran was clean and comfortable, the location was excellent especially if you are flying into San Diego Airport. Captain Ryan is top notch! He was flexible to each student’s needs, a superior instructor, fun, and so positive that we left the class still on a “dopamine” high! Thank you Ryan, and thank you West Coast Multihulls. We can’t wait to take our next class in Mexico with you!

Its rare that the experience you hope for, the little fantasy you have playing in your head prior to an event, is actually surpassed by the event itself. That is what West Coast Multihulls delivered for me. From the warm greeting by Guinevere, to the experience and laid-back, yet professional attitudes and instruction of both Captain Eddie, and Captain Lance, I could not have asked for more. I took ASA courses 101, 103, 104, and 114 over 7 days and although it is a large amount of information and hands-on instruction to get through in one week, they did a tremendous job. Both the couple I took the class with and I tried to find some sort of constructive criticism to give to Guinevere at the end of the course and the only thing we could come up with was: More Wind! :) Seriously, I can not recommend West Coast Multihulls enough, the people are genuine and caring, the instruction is first class, and the experience is beyond amazing. Stop reading this and go make a reservation!

West Coast Multihulls is a very professional organization. I have just completed ASA 101, 103, 104, and 114 over the course of 1 week including 5 days on one of their catamarans up the coast to Catalina and back. Kudos to my instructors Ed (101), and Lance (103, 104, 114). They both are very talented, knowledgeable, and experienced sailors who know their craft and are well able to impart their knowledge to new sailors with confidence. Gunievere runs the office and has been great in keeping me informed over email and has answered all my inquiries in a timely fashion. One thing that really stood out to me was the fact that there were no hidden charges - that should be a small thing but Ive had some pretty bad experiences elsewhere. All in all a first rate operation using excellent quality newer boats for training / charters. If you fly into San Diego (SAN) there is a Sheraton hotel over the road from the airport, about a 7 minute walk, and from there, the West Coast Multihulls office is about a 5 minute walk. If you are doing the Catamaran course (ASA 114) you will be able to stay on the boat the night prior to your departure which is nice. Southwest airline seems to have flights landing every few minutes...Highly recommended!

We did a one day bareboat charter with West Coast Multihulls. The boat was clean and in good working order. Captain Ryan Craft was great getting us ready in the morning and offered to provide phone help if needed while we had the boat.

The scheduled ASA classes didnt work for me so West Coast Multihulls put together a custom 4 day charter where the first two days were the ASA 114 class for two people and test, and the last half was just us practicing. And we slept on the boat so no need for local hotels. Great way to learn. Thanks guys.

Whether youre local to San Diego or not - I cant recommend West Coast Multihulls + Anthony (The Happy Captain) enough. I completed my ASA 104/114 with West Coast + Anthony as the Instructor. Ive taken courses at several sailing schools (BVIs, Panama, Los Angeles) and I learned more in the 3 days spent with Anthony as the instructor than I did any other course.Anthonys teaching style is empowering and allows you to teach other people to help you better understand why things are done. His passion for the sailing lifestyle is infectious and his 30+ years of on-the-water experience help him make more complicated subjects easy to understand to his students (e.g. for me it was Velocity Made Good).Only warning is after a weekend with Anthony + West Coast, youll probably want to go buy that boat youve been dreaming about and set sail for the next year. :)

Our family of 5 sailed out of Loreto in June with Captain John and his wife, Chef Macrina. The booking was very easy and the staff was highly professional. John was a true pro! Our daughter had an allergic reaction prior to us getting on the boat and it worsened a few days out at sea, John and Macrina treated us as if we were their own family sailing thru the dark to the town of Loreto where Macrina helped escort us to a doctor to give us a RX for her worsening reaction. I truly cannot say enough about John and his wife, they worked to make certain every moment hopping to different islands and coves was fun and memorable! Our entire family had food withdrawals from Macrinas amazing regional cooking - she is a talented chef and we let her entirely write our menus for the trip. I cannot imagine another sailing trip without the two of them - they truly made the trip AMAZING!! Cannot wait to go back!!!!

I couldnt be happier with my experience with West Coast Multihulls. I havent been on a catamaran in many years and wanted to brush up before an upcoming charter. The two days spent in the ASA 114 class were exactly what I needed. The boat used was in immaculate condition, the sailing was great, but most importantly Captain Rich was a great instructor. He was passionate and extremely knowledgeable. While we managed to cover the full breadth of the ASA curriculum, I appreciated his focus on the truly important skills required for catamaran chartering compared to monohulls (docking, steering under power, etc.). I fully plan to use West Coast Multihulls for any additional educational needs I have in the future; I cant recommend them enough.

We love West Coast Multihull. We just finished out sailing course with captain John and his lovely wife Macrina in Mexico. It was an amazing experience from learning from a wonderful teacher to eating his wife’s delicious authentic Mexican cooking. We learned a lot and looking forward to charter a boat from them in a near future. So we are ready to sail full time once our new catamaran arrives in 2025. West Coast Multihull is also our broker. They do it all and do it right.

I cant say enough good things about West Coast Multihulls! Eddie and Lance were both laid back yet incredibly knowledgeable. I was able to do things that I never thought I was capable of. The week long ASA certification trip was well worth the money and time. The boats were beautifully maintained and comfortable to be aboard. Thank you West Coast Multihulls for a memorable week!

Excellent Sailing Lessons and Bareboat Charter Program! The WCM staff; Guinevere, Vicky and Kurt are great to work with. I have been a happy customer of WCM since 2015, because they are very professional, the fleet is beautifully maintained, and above all, they are good people. They teach us the skills to bareboat and help us fall in love with catamaran sailing, especially to those of us who are susceptible to the lure of distant horizons.I have been sailing large catamarans since 2008 at different locations around the world, as it is one of the things I enjoy most in life. When we are getting new crew members ready for a sailing adventure, my first choice is to get a local bareboat charter from WCM, to do a crew sea trials. In addition, I have taken a few skill refresher clinics including docking and anchoring with them too. Recently, I did their “Catamaran Docking Clinic” with 2 of my regular crew and 1 new crew member. Captain Lance was our instructor, and by the end of the day our new crew member was docking a 40ft. Cat, forward, sideways and backwards like a PRO. Thank you!

I did the 101, 103, 104, 114 class for a week. The school was really easy to work with. Guinevere was awesome to work with. We got good and thorough documentation on what to expect, what we need to know and pre-study, and the schedule. Our instructor Captain Don was very knowledgeable on so many different things having been sailing most his life. Don knows pretty much everything about most boats youll see, from rigging and sailing techniques to the systems and all aspects of operation.Don knows how to do everything, shows you how to do it, explains why its done that way and watches you do the same thing until you got the hang of it.....Hes a good teacher in a way that makes things easier to remember.A friend also took the same classes 3 weeks earlier and said that instructor was top notch as well. We cant wait to charter out 1st bareboat from them in La Paz!!
