This was a fantastic way to get out on the water with the family! We had a fantastic time. Nate got us squared away and gave us the local low down on how to make the best of our time! Definitely a redo when in San Diego!

We decided to book a Duffy cruise on the Sun Cruiser 3 for 3 hours as a way to enjoy a beautiful Saturday in a safe distanced way. This was exactly what we needed! From booking to arriving to cruising to disembarking it was a great experience! The online booking was so very easy, the confirmation and information they provide you was thorough and provided all the information we needed in order to be prepared for our trip. They even were available via text for any questions prior to your booking date. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly staff to check us in and after signing the online waiver we were swiftly escorted to our very beautiful and VERY clean boat. They are taking great care to make sure these vessels are clean and sanitized. We were given a tutorial on the area and boat and were on our way. It was absolutely wonderful and such a great way to feel like you are on a mini cruise. Be sure to pack snacks and drinks to make the trip that much more luxurious! We will absolutely be back and cannot wait!

Called for Labor Day and was told they would hold $10 on my credit card and I would pay a cash price discounted amount when I got there. We actually loved the Duffy and ride. However I had to use their ATM which charged me a processing fee and per my Credit Card they charged me $49.95, not the agreed upon $10 hold, along with giving them $140 in cash.For that- I have to wonder, why wasnt my card credited back? Ill reconsider the review when they make the situation right.

Very friendly staff and they cleaned the boat thoroughly after each group so it felt clean and safe. It was really fun just cruising around the bay, had a great time.

This was a special occasion for my best friend. His fiance planned this as a surprise for his birthday.So we arrive and park and headed over to the gate. My lady wanted to go to the restroom before we set sail. Shawn/Sean shows up and immediately we felt an unwelcoming feeling, as if we were putting him out and inconveniencing him. This was not good start.After we lightened our load. Then we all board the Duffy and I happened to be appointed the captain. He goes over his briefing and rules then attempts to shove us on our way. In the mean while I am trying to connect the bluetooth to my phone so we could have some boating ambiance. I wasnt having any luck connecting. Shawn/Sean just stood three with an impatient demeanor and continued to rush us on our way. He could of nicely come in to assist but he couldnt bother to. Finally it works, he continues to let us know he has another group that he needs to burn and turn. Customer service is definitely not his strong point.Finally we take off on our 90 minute tour. This was a great experience putting around 4 knots=5 miles an hour around the bay. Great weather and spectacular company.As we return to dock, the charm and great customer service continues (SARCASM). He just didnt care about us. All he cared about was burning and turning as many groups as possible. (At least do it with a kind and friendly attitude)At the end I pulled him aside and nicely gave him my feedback, but unfortunately he said he was indifferent and thats just the way he is.I have been in hospitality and tourism for over 20 years and unfortunately Shawn/Sean just doesnt enjoy what hes doing, therefore, he treats his customers the way he feels about his job.I did leave him a tip, but definitely not as much as I would if we were treated with kindness.If you all can ignore horrible customer service/relations then take a duffy out at this place. Maybe there are other companies that rent these Duffys that we can rent from in the future.

We booked it for a weekend getaway with a couple of friends. I called after hours but no one answered, I didn’t leave a message and the next morning they called me back to follow up! I thought that was nice.Booked the Duffy online and the whole experience was fantastic. They went over the instructions to drive the Duffy ourselves. It was easy. Would recommend 10:30a because as we were coming back there was definitely a lot more people getting on the water.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! staff is very unprofessional, they were extremely rude to my wife, they tried to intimidate us, and threatened us with extra charges for no reason. Especially Dusty, no customer services skills at all. He seems to hate his job and hate the customers, just a miserable human being. You don’t even have to be good at customer service you just have to have basic social skills, this guy was lacking all of that, a straight up a**hole. The manager that came over to talk to us isn’t any better. Overall it was not a good experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!

Will never come here again!!!, I and my friends were harassed by a man named Dusty ! He was very rude and unprofessional he was making up lies saying we had a cake fight on the boat and threatened to call the cops if we didn’t get off the property. He should be fired!!!!

The wife and I had a fantastic outing on our wine cruise. We paid the up-charge to add some more variety to our plate and it was worth it. Now that we have a better idea of the length of the cruise, well probably add on a second bottle next time. Captain Devin was a great guy to talk with throughout our trip and was super chill. At first I thought it was cool that nobody else signed up for the nights cruise and we had it all to ourselves, but after talking with Devin about how friendly the groups get, we kinda wished there were more people to socialize with. We had a full moon that evening and there were some great picture taking opportunities.As an aside, weve seen that you can rent the boats to drive yourself and as others have said, theyre electric, so they go really slow. Just know this caveat before you rent them. For the cruise we went on, theyre the perfect speed. The good thing about them being electric is that they dont give off that gasoline smell.

Such a wonderful experience tooling around the bay, viewing sea lions sunning on the bait dock, catching a sneak peak of practice for a couple of Sea World performers, and watching the sun set slowly and gloriously.Wine, cheese, grapes, and crackers added an element of class and romance to the cruise. Captain Devon is the best! I highly recommend Duffy of San Diego!

WE LOVE IT! If I could give 100 stars, I would. We did this after our wedding and Im glad that we choose this instead of doing something else.The yacht was so immaculate, which is the first thing that popped in my head once we stepped in. The man (I forgot his name) with long hair who accomodated us is so kind. He explained to us everything before we drove the yacht. He deserves to have a promotion!I am too embarassed to write this, but after returning the yacht, they helped us clean the table after seeing me struggling for cleaning it up. But I am very grateful for their hospitality and great customer service.If I were you, experience this at least once in your lifetime! You will never regret it.You can bring your own food, beverages, alcohol and ice (Which is the perks that I love the most). They also have bluetooth speakers and ice box for your own convenience.I will definitely rent a yacht again in the future! I highly recommend this to everyone who reads this.Bonus perk: They gave me 10% OFF coupon after!

They were really helpful over the phone and the process was quick and easy at the front which I appreciate the social distance. Duffies clean and a nice location and ride around the bay.

A few friends and I decided to take the wine and cheese cruise. Very reasonably priced - and we had an amazing time!!! I recommend upgrading your appetizers to the meat & cheese plate - so good! Our Captain Devin was amazing. He made great conversation and was so kind. I will be back in San Diego in a few weeks and will definitely book again.

So much fun to have our own little harbor cruz. I highly recommend to anyone who just wants a little ocean voyage. We had a fantastic time and we cant wait to do it again. Very friendly staff and clean boats.

Every boat I have ever rented allowed pets. I was sent the rules saying no wine glasses or peanut shells. Nothing about dogs I thought I would ask to make sure. Billy said no pets. I said okay lets cancel. He stated there is a $35 cancellation fee. Even though it was well over 72 hours before the reservation. When I disputed Billy stated he is not in business to lose money. I understand that and its not my problem he has a third party company that charges him. Figure out your business so you maximize your profits. I have rented several Duffys in Newport Beach and always bring my dog. And I have never seen a dog damage a Duffy. But at least state on the reservation page that there are no pets allowed. Not the last answer on the FAQ page. And then blame the customer for not researching enough. Great business tactics Billy.

Highly recommend this place if you want to rent one of their awesome electric boats. The owner is extremely nice and will make sure that you are taken care of for your rental. You can cruise around mission bay in your own private boat. . . Who WOULDNT want to do that! Check it out! ;)

Do you get to drive the Duffy boat yourself ?

So our whole experience was absolutely fantastic until... we were coming back and having issues finding the dock because our original instructor assumed we have ridden a boat before and explained all of the directions very quickly. Because of this we were 20 minutes late and while we were trying to find our way back we were on the phone with Ashely, while she was trying to give us directions. When we got back the original instructor (Ashley refused to give up his name) was very rude about the fact that we were late and we couldn’t comprehend his quick direction, and when I tried to explain this to him he proceeded to tell me that “we all speak English” mind you, we are foreigners. And after we made that statement he proceeded to inform us that we now owe $50 dollars for a late fee. After this terrible experience a different guy by the name of Dustin told us that he understood what we were feeling and to call Ashley to hash out our issues. When we called Ashley, after talking to her with much respect and explaing our side of the story, she then began to have an attitude after she clearly took the word of the original instructor and reinstated that we were late (after we talked to her while we were lost) and that we were being rude to her employee and basically had everything flipped on us (the paying customer who returned the boat in perfect and clean condition) and on top of everything this was our first time on the waters, that is why we rented in the first place. We should not be expected to be experts and we certainly should not be expected to but up with horrible service and be charged a late fee on top of that. Ashley also refused to give us the owners number after hanging up in our faces multiple times.

Nice boat rentals, but not fire safe!All of the doors- including the bathrooms and the dock itself- automatically lock and require a key to enter and to exit. If there is a fire or other emergency here someday this might get some people killed. I would happily raise this review to 5 stars when and if this issue is corrected.

Weve lived in SD all our lives and are always looking for something different to do. This Mission Bay Wine Cruise is awesome!!! The boat is very confortable, clean and even provided blankets (we did the last cruise of the day for the sunset). The food, wine & champagne were all perfectA perfect trip with Captain Devon with wine and cheese as the icing on the cake! The boat was impeccably clean and quiet, A+ customer service, and we got to see seals and lots of different birds (not to mention all of the activities happening around the bay). This will be a must for our visiting friends and family. Thanks Captain Devon and the Duffy crew!Captain Devin was extremely hospitable and went out of his way to make our experience top notch!We will 100% be doing this again!!

Lots of fun. We had a 2 hour sunset rental. Our kids loved it. We ate wine and cheese plate as we cruised the bay. A must due with the family.

Don’t go here. Terrible service. The owner is disrespectful. We had troubles with our Duffy and called for help on the EMERGENCY line and nobody answered... then the worker told us they were on the phone with someone else. They do not give very detailed directions on where to go, so we had some issues with that. Ended up being a poor experience on our trip. Poor customer service.

Splendid is the word I choose. I recommend reserving a boat in the early evening and enjoy the sunset while cruising the bay. Dont forget drinks and snacks.These boats arent luxury yachts, but plenty spacious for decent sized groups, clean and comfortable. These puppies top out at 5 MPH - perfect for a leisurely jaunt and safe for kids and novice seafarers.I will say that it was somewhat difficult to find the right spot and link up with the Duffy employee. Also the spiel on boat operation and sailing route were rushed, so we charted our own path.

In mid-February a friend and I went for the boat ride with wine & snacks on Mission Bay. It was beautiful day and a quiet (no motor noise) ride around the bay. I would recommend it to others who want a relaxing boat ride.

Overpriced, inferior to other boating options in San Diego. Duffy boats are novelty items for retirees, not real boats. You have ugly plastic sheet windows surrounding you. The boat can barely move, with a top speed of 5mph. The seats all face inwards, so you have to strain your neck to even get a proper view of the ocean. The view you do have will be distorted through the ugly windows. Alternatives? If you want to throw a boat party, you can have greater luxury for a better rate getting a pontoon from Adventure Water Sports. You can rent a skiff from Dana Landing for $12/hr. If you really want to ride a Duffy boat for whatever reason, you can rent it for cheaper from SeaForth.

My group had the best time on our duffyboat rental. Connor took care of us and even though some members of our group were late, he made sure to get out on the water ASAP. Would love to do another rental in the future!
