As a first timer going through a remodel, my family and I had tons of questions and no idea what to expect. We needed to add on a master bedroom for my Mom and expand and remodel our kitchen in Santee. Ritz Design Build from the beginning were nothing but helpful and patient. The designer took the very rough outline of what we wanted and gave us the most amazing layout and plan. When the work actually started, it went very fast. All the guys that were sent to work on the build were great. It didnt matter who was here, they were always kind and professional. As with anything, issues did pop up, but how they were dealt with is what makes it so easy to leave this review. For example, our linen closet was made into a coat closet and the painters misunderstood they were supposed to paint the whole first floor not just half. Once we brought it up it was an instant apology and a quick email of when it could be corrected by. We never felt like our question or concerns were blown off or made to feel like they didnt matter. We will gladly refer them to anyone we know who needs a remodel or build done. My only suggestion for improvement would be a checklist of items needed for installation in more timely manner.

I am a hard grader and I realize I have high expectations as it concerns quality work and customer service. Ritz Design Build knocked it out of the park. Experienced and talented staff. Very responsive. Quality material. Attention to detail. Focus on customer satisfaction. Did I mention that this project was started and completed in 2020 during COVD? Ritz got it done in the time frame that was promised. Incredible work Ritz Design Build! Any future projects will be worked by Ritz Design Build. Fact.

I can totally recommend Ritz Design Build. I hired Ritz for room addition and remodel. Despite Covid-19 situation, they work hard to meet the planned schedule while executing quality workmanship. I really love the result.I believe that they sincerely want to make their customer happy. I would hire Ritz again.

Ritz Design Build constructed a beautiful bathroom addition to our home in Imperial Beach. Their excellent design helped maximize limited space and carefully integrated the new addition with the existing structure. Their skilled, experienced workers obviously took pride in their work. Our interaction with all members of the team was pleasant and helpful. Their communication was friendly and they responded quickly to questions. We would not hesitate to recommend them to other homeowners seeking a high quality result.

Ritz Design Build built our dream dining room. All we thought we wanted was a rectangular room large enough for a table for 12. We live in an HOA in the Tierrasanta area of San Diego CA and have a small back yard with not much room for expansion. The Ritz team designed (thanks John!) and built a gorgeous, perfectly sized dining room with a vaulted ceiling and two push-out windows. In addition to the dining room Ritz also added two arches to our existing living area, built beautiful cabinets in our original small dining area, replaced our flooring and redesigned our fireplace. The result is an updated living space with character!Every member of the Ritz team - designers, demolition crew, framers, carpenters, painters, etc. - was professional, personable, polite and patient. Having heard stories about the earthiness of construction crews we were especially pleased that we never heard a bad word. Plus, they cleaned up the area before leaving each day. Our ace project manager, Tom, kept the process moving along and updated us daily, usually in person, so we knew what to expect next. The designers helped us select granite, flooring and a design for the fireplace mantle. We are 100% pleased with our new living space! When we are ready for additional home improvement we will be calling Ritz Design Build.

I did an extensive remodeling project with Ritz Design and they delivered an outstanding job. The project involved pushing out two walls, new windows, doors, kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, insulating all walls, outdoor room and new roof. Ritz Design stands behind their work and honors your warranty. I highly recommend Ritz Design for any remodeling project and would hire them again.

They did a great design on my kitchen remodel and it turned out really nice. I liked the project manager, Chris Waymire, but he was let go at the end of the job for some reason. All in all, I felt they went above and beyond in many respects. I think the price/value was good too. I talked to three general contractors one was at a much, much higher price. For the same money, I mightve been able to get new cabinets but no serious remodeling done.Another GC I spoke to had some great ideas, but it sounded like hed be doing far less work for my budget. Ritz is the only one that stuck fairly close to my budget and did everything I wanted. My one criticism is that theyve taken 3 months to take care of some issues (minor) that popped up after the install. Some drywall cracking, loose cabinet doors, 2 electrical problems. I initially gave them 4 stars being so slow to do their warranty work, but I had a talk with the owner and he apologized and promised to do better. They are now taken care of and hopefully nothing further will go wrong.

Our experience with Ritz was one of the most professionally satisfying experiences weve ever had. After designing and building no less than four homes as we traversed the country, first in the Navy and then in civilian life, we like to think we learned something about good design, permitting and construction practices. The professionals at Ritz have, in our mind, re-defined the standard of excellence for us.We built a two-car garage with a small granny flat apartment above it; certainly not one of Ritzs high dollar projects, but you wouldnt know it by the attention given our project from start to finish from every member of the design and construction teams. Many know, at least intuitively if not by experience, that the most important part of any construction project is the foundation. If it isnt plumb and square then nothing else that follows will be either. Sure, a good framing crew can cover up foundation mistakes, but that wasnt the case here. The foundation was perfect (I had it independently checked). And the framing crew? Absolutely the very best Ive ever had the pleasure of working on any of my aforementioned four homes. I can say the same for the electrician, mason, painter and on and on. I learned long ago you can tell a lot about a company and in this case a construction team by how clean they keep the construction zone during the day and how they leave it at the end of the day. Not only is it a sign of pride they have in their work, but it is an indicator of how the workers think about their own safety and that of the homeowner. On our last home project, I had to get after the company owner several times for the project not meeting my safety and cleanliness standards. For our Ritz project, I never had to make that call.As I told the owner of Ritz, his subcontractors, many of whom have been with him for several years (which is almost unheard of in this business) are his competitive advantage over all the other build/design firms in SD. Truth be told, we dont refer to the team that worked on our project as subcontractors; to us they were no less than expert craftsmen.Did the project go perfectly, without flaws? Of course not. Ive never had a home build go perfectly, but this one was closer than all the others. The owner was active, engaged and committed to making it right. One of the mistakes was, admittedly ours. In trying to save some money we insisted on a cheaper shower product installation only to have to agree late in the project we were wrong. He had every right to charge us for not only the demolition of the old plastic shower, but then to stick it to us for the new tile installation, especially since our change order delayed the overall project schedule. He surprised us with his generosity and desire to make sure we were satisfied. We are big fans of Ritz and the people behind the logo. Weve told the team at Ritz to use us as references. We can provide no better recommendation than that.
