Had them diagnose my turbo couple months ago and I was finally able to pass smog. These guys are the only people I trust with my car. You can really tell theyre passionate about what they do which shows in their workmanship.Theyre cheaper in some areas depending on the job than in others, but they do not waste your time like other shops in San Diego. Theyre straight forward and communicate well with you the entire time letting you know whats going on and if they dont call you they have no issue with you calling and checking in. I can not reiterate enough, these guys are awesome and are truly one of kind people.Would come back 10/10 times.

I had a great experience with these guys. Went in for them to fix a problem on my Z another shop had created and they were able to diagnose and fix the issue the same day. They kept me updated throughout the whole process and were very professional.

The engine got replaced!!!! and all systems superbly performed to include the ECU (re-flashed/reprogrammed) when tested. I will never try another repair shop/technician again. I just got a one-day turn around on a coilover install and alignment for my 1987 Supra from these folks. Prices were comparable or better than most locations I saw around town. I had intended to tackle the install myself but ran into some issues due to lack of material and time; since I was gonna be getting an alignment anyway, I figured why not just let them take care of install as well?The team was very helpful, calling me during the process to check with me on certain issues that came up as they went. They even went a bit further than they needed to and obliged when I asked them to please tape up my doors once they rolled it outside to park (as it was raining, and my targa top leaks). A very minor thing, but its nice that they went through the trouble.Definitely gonna be looking their way once I start getting more stuff installed under the hood and need a tune. Finding an honest auto shop is hard to come by, but these guys are probably one of the most honest you can find. I come here because I trust them with my car.I come here for regular service maintenance as well as installing custom parts so I know these men are knowledgable on many aspects of a vehicle.

This is by far my favorite auto repair shop. Justin, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and provides outstanding service and communication. I use CarTune for oil changes and all repairs. Once, my car wasn’t starting and due to work I didn’t have time to diagnose it or even drop it off during the day. I dropped the car off after hours, hid the key and left a voicemail, and they had my car ready for pickup with a new battery by noon the next day. Most recently my engine seized and I had the car towed to Cartune after hours. Justin put in some time trying to diagnose it. Once we figured out that the problem was a defect in my model covered by an extended warranty (after Subaru settled some lawsuits over this issue), I towed the car to a Subaru dealership. Subaru requested all my service records, which Justin immediately sent via email. The charge for diagnosing the problem, receiving the tow, sending the tow, and emailing me my service history (all by phone, I didn’t go to the shop once) was $50. These are real car guys who care about the vehicles and their customers. I love my 2014 WRX wagon and would trust these guys with any level of repair. Highly recommended.

The guys at CarTune Did a great job!!!! I Had ALOT of work done on my 2007 Honda Ridgelind, Dropped it of on Thursday and it was done Saturday with no appointment and a great price. To get the same work done at the dealer would have been twice as much money and a week or more out.

BEWARE!!! I brought in my vintage VW for a break job, and an installation of three new gauges, the car had (key word HAD) a working charging system when I dropped it off. on week later I picked it up the gauges seemed a little off, but Jeff the owner told me to drive it for awhile and then come back. OK didnt take long to figure out his technician knew NOTHING at all about air cooled VWs, the breaks were not fixed properly (found that out at 75 MPH...Fun Times) the gauges crapped out with in the first 20 miles and now my generator was not charging the car, battery drained in 20 or so miles (coincidence...probably not). anyway brought it back to him and JEFF sent it to another shop that actually knows about VWs (passed off the customer due to incompetence) and this guy is going to charge me $600.00 to fix what wasnt a problem before JEFFs shop got a hold of my car. all in all $1,100.00 paid and I am worst off than when I started (grand total $1,700.00 and I am back where I started.)When asked to see what could be done he told me in a pleasant tone that it was not his fault or problem and to basically GFMS. Jeff seems pleasant and honest but WATCH OUT just another snake in the grass.I am not the only review like this
