Car would not start when I had it towed in. Jeff called me 4 times to inform me of the issues my car had. Now it runs better than before it was running.

This is not bad.Had a check engine light come on. Jeff explained there is a set rate to read codes and perform a diagnostic. Fortunately the issue and repairs were minor.Jeff took extra time to answer multiple questions regarding my repairs and my bill. These guys are great. Lots of communication and details of whats happening with the vehicle. Quick turn around. And created a list of upcoming repairs and ideal timeline. This was my 2nd time there and will be back again and again.

I originally went to RB Automotive for an oil change before beginning a drive across the country. They were able to get me in within a few days. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up having them replace my front axle and rear brakes and rotors as well. I knew I needed this work done on my car and they were so knowledgable, friendly, and gave me a great price so I am so glad I ended up there. I didnt get the usual trying to take you for all they can vibe that you get at most auto shops. Being a female and pretty green when it comes to cars, I really appreciated how helpful and honest Nick was about my vehicle. Not to mention they got all of this done in 1 day! Highly recommend!

I purchased a vehicle from Jeff and Nick for $2500 at the end of February 2018. I was assured the vehicle had been looked over with a fine toothed comb and that I could go on a long distance driving vacation if I wanted. Within a week, I was driving from SD to OC and the new timing belt they had installed flew apart leaving me stranded on the 5 freeway in morning rush hour. We were all very lucky my 3 year old son and I were not injured. After they “fixed” the issue, I got the car back and the engine was KNOCKING. Very loud! I called Jeff and he insisted it was a “Honda tick” and that I needed to give the parts more time to get worn in. After finally having enough, I had them look at it again and sure enough there was a valve clearance issue. Go figure!! After this fix, I got the car back and it was SPEWING coolant from a hose that didn’t have a clamp properly installed. I attempted to make contact regarding the coolant flowing from my engine and received no answer. I had to pay another mechanic $40 to replace a clamp on a coolant hose because Jeff and Nick refused to honor their word. It is now the beginning of June and the car I purchase at the end of February sits broken down and useless. I was sold a lemon and the deal I made was based on lies and deceit. It’s a shame these guys couldn’t be honest to a single mom just looking for reliable transportation for her son. Shame on RB Automotive.

Ive been taking my personal and fleet vehicles to RB Automotive for years. The customer service is top notch. Jeff and Nick are always happy to answer any questions and explain everything in a way that anyone can understand. It can be a busy shop but they always find a way to fit me in. Their prices are extremely competitive and they dont try to upsell you for services you dont need.

I had a car repaired once they gave me a discount as a sign of friendship, so when my car broke down I had it towed over there. They found a manfacturea warranty and I was able to get my engine replaced for free, probably saved me 6 or 7 thousand dollars.

I have had all my cars (except my BMWs, and RBA recommended an excellent shop to service them) serviced at RB Automotive for about the last 25 years. With my most recent service (brakes, power steering on a Honda Odyssey), the improvement in the responsiveness was dramatic.

Theyre real, theyre not looking to just see how much money they can squeeze out of you, but let you know their opinion of what needs to be fixed now, what should get fixed and things you dont need to worry about. Huge bonus I love is they have company vehicles that they offer free of charge for you to take while theyre working on your vehicle, I never have the time to sit around and wait for the maintenance on my vehicle to be done. Ive never felt scammed or hustled on prices or work needed. Great attitude, great service, great prices! VERY honest people. I took my car to RB automotive because my car engine sensor slowed down while I was on the freeway. First time going to this shop. Hoping to be a regular. Nick was nice and provided a car loaner. Car is working so far. One thing to be careful almost all places including dealer, if they perform diagnostics to your car they will tell you that they will apply the cost to your repair. Not this shop. They said they will apply the $120 cost of diagnostic to the repair when I asked. When my bill was added up I was still charged for the diagnostics and said I misunderstood him. Not sure if I want to come back.

I used to take my 2005 Lexus to the dealership for any type of service. Last year when they severely overcharged me for work, my husband and I both started taking our Lexus to RB Automotive. Their service is excellent and their prices are fair. And as we live in Rancho Bernardo it is also very convenient. Highly recommend them.10/2020. We continue to use RB Auto. When I go in they tell me what needs to be done now, what will eventually need to be done down the road, and explain why. They do not push you to get extra or unnecessary repairs. As far as getting your car worked on my men and women you dont know, there is a great deal of trust required in the process. These gentlemen were extremely professional, easy to talk to, kind, and TRUSTWORTHY. Not having alot of knowledge about the semantics of the way my car runs makes a mechanics word very powerful. If they tell me something Ill believe. Well RB Auto staff and mechanics walked me through the process and were extremely respectful. I would highly recommend this establishment to anybody. I walked in and left with everything in my car working significantly better, it didnt destroy my bank account, and my car is now in better shape.

My truck was idling out. Took it here, it threw the guys a bunch of errors. They went through the list, tried to get it running without having to replace everything. When it still had some hiccups, Jeff did the re-diagnostic for free and barely charged for the labor and put a minimal markup on the last component it needed. It runs great now, extremely happy with their attitude and service!

Great service - a trustworthy service center that shoots right

Over priced, I recommend quoting other places before going with this shop. I got charged $563 for rear break rotor and pads, $427 for rear shocks and $238 for spark plugs. All of this in a Honda Civic. I declined the $80 cabin air filer I got quoted for; I did this myself in 5 minutes for like $15. After some research I realized these guys where charging like double for parts compared to Autozone prices. I understand they have to make money on parts and charge for a couple hours of labor for what they did. But it is still overpriced to me.Note also they have hired technicians that do their work.

Rb automotive is a great place to take your cars for maintenance a d repairs I have 4 vehicles that they service regularly they are a smaller shop with trustworthy guys and I can go there without feeling like i was taken advantage of like most dealerships.

Jeff and crew rock! I had to replace the steering Box on my truck. Not an easy task considering the truck is a lifted GMC 2500 HD. Jeff had an issue with the replacement steering box that was ordered after it was installed. Unfortunately this is a common occurrence with this particular part being bad out of the box. Jeff Immediately ordered another part and let me keep the shop truck over night and made sure himself that the part and repair where right before he handed me my keys. I dont rate people when things go right, thats easy. It when things outside of our control happen and how they are handled that shows a commitment to customer care and quality of service. Needed a reliable shop for an oil change near my office (I refuse to use the quick oil change places that upcharge you and often damage other things on your vehicle and in your engine). Found these guys by searching online and called in. Jeff (the owner) and Nick were very friendly, helpful and patient with my questions and chit chat. I will absolutely recommend these guys to co-workers and friends; and although I live in another part of town, they may be my go-to for other maintenance and repairs. Glad I found them. Too bad there are some yoohoos that gave poor reviews for the wrong shop on their site, messing up the potential for RB Auto to get 5 stars. OH! And my oil change took as much time (if not less) than those quick places, and I actually got to sit down for a nice, quiet lunch by myself. Thanks Jeff and crew!

I was charge for two services that I did not ask for. I was first charged for them topping off my oil. I never asked for this I when I told May that they had done this for me I thought I was getting great customer service. In hindsight I realize that I was just getting nickeled and dimed. The second thing I was charge for was a tire rotation. Which is ridiculous because my tires were already off the car due to my breaks getting serviced. The work I did to my car was good and the price was great but I wont be going back becaus The work I did to my car was good and the price was great but I wont be going back. I dont like being charged for things that I never asked for and was never disclosed to me.

Sadly, negative reviews often are written by customers who you either charged no fee at all, or by someone who never was your customer in the first place. We also find that some bad reviews are simply written by your competitors. After 45 years in business, my advice to other business owners would be: beware who you invite to be your customer.

They kept my old beater car running well for many years. Now I trust them with my newer car for regular maintenance.
