I called Tooles repair when another shop told me they didnt have the personnel to to the repairs to my car. Tooles was able to take my car in, check it and give me an estimate within an hour without an appointment. The front desk person, Meagan was polite helpful and positive. The two service writers were polite, professional and got things going quickly. My car was repaired for a fair, not bargain, but fair price and I was impressed enough to pick my car up and drop off my sons car for a quick oil change. They performed all requested repairs and made some recommendations without oversell. As a point of reference I worked as a union service writer for 12 years and know how things work. They did not talk down to me as a woman which is appreciated, were honest and got the repairs done quickly. I peeked at the shop and it was clean and looked like it was in good condition. I would not hestiate to take any of my vehicles to Tooles for service and commend them for good work and professionalism. David, one of the service people even told me about a local car show and was pleasant and personable. I only wish I had know about this shop sooner.Ellen

First time taking my vehicle to Tooles today and it was a great experience. On time, friendly, clean, and great technology with paperless billing and photos of the problem and then the fix to my vehicle included in the final invoice.Sean was great! I came in 10 min early before my opening appointment at 7:30am and he took care of me right away even though I told him I was OK to wait until they were actually open.Ill be taking all of my familys cars here when repairs are needed moving forward!

Believe the reviews! This place is legit. I’ve been to many other auto shops around the country so this is an informed review. Everything A-Z these guys run a tight ship. Sean at the front desk made the whole process seamlessly easy and efficient. Almost too easy. Price was extremely fair. I had a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation for $111.98 out the door. If you know your numbers, this is a good deal. I called and they fit me into the schedule, same day. I highly recommend Toole’s Garage. No need to look further!

Sean and Frank were awesome! Had an issue with my Ford Transit rear AC and after going through an issue with the dealership telling me that my Transit didnt have rear AC from factory, Toole’s garage confirmed I did. Been going to these guys for at least the past 2 to 3 years. I’ve always found them to be friendly and professional, and they often go above and beyond.When my wife brings me to pickup my car, she sometimes has questions for them about her own car. They’ve always been very helpful to her - topping of her fluids at no charge, or something as simple as running over to the curb to open the door for her as she is walking to to my car.

Great service!! 1997 4Runner had a leak at fuel filter (my fault). After putting on a new filter, still leaking. I was stranded 30 miles from home. Called Tooles after reading positive Yelp reviews and Mark said he could look at the 4Runner that day. Tow truck dropped off car and Mark and Shawn skipped their lunch break to trouble shoot. Shawn found fuel line needed to be re-flared. Mark went out to get a new filter while another worked on the flaring. Knowing I was unable to get home, they worked me into their schedule- very busy shop. I was in and out within 3 hours. Customer service goes a long way. I will drive the extra miles next time I need service on the 4Runner.

Everyone at Toole’s is very helpful. They not only look after me (by providing a quick and easy check-in, friendly customer service and a rental car) but also my car. I always notice a huge difference in how my car handles before and after the service. In the five years I have used Toole’s, I’ve never had an issue with my trusty 17 year old car 😀.

David Toole has been taking care of my Hondas for the past 15 years, starting with my 89 Accura Legend Coupe at Honda Hospital in San Mateo, my S2000 at his 1st location in San Carlos (off Holly St.) and my Accord EX-L Coupe on Washington. Most recently, subsequent to opening his new shop in Valley??????, I dropped off my Fiat 124 Spider for Alloygator Rim Protector installation. That may have been a mistake. Henceforth I will employ Italian car specialists for repairs to my 2017 Abarth. If youve got a Honda, David Toole is the man, if your driving something else, not so much.

Took my Jeep in for an oil change and to have my transmission looked at as its been having issues. I am very happy to report that Tooles did confirm that there was a problem with my transmission but suggested I go back to the dealer (who messed it up in the first place) to fight to get them to fix it. I really appreciated the pictures they provided and the extra information they provided me with so I could talk to the dealer about it. I feel other shops might have just cashed in on my misfortune and fixed the transmission and lined their pockets with the cost of the fix. This was not the case with Tooles and I feel that they are respectful, honest people. I will definitely be bringing my Jeep back for future service!

Had an issue with my honda pilots starter. Tooles made the repair very simple. Once I dropped off the car they gave me a free lift ride home. There was a delay in getting parts for my car, so they provided me with a loaner car. Nevertheless, I highly recommend these guys, over any one stop shop repair chain!!

My car is 15 years old, and I still enjoy driving it. I had it serviced for an upcoming road trip to southern California. Sean phoned and suggested changing fluids in the transmission and differential. I felt that was reasonable, and they were able to do it the same day.

I was charged for work that was not complete, and was overall very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and organization at Tooles. Communication was terrible, I had to call and call to check on my classic car as Mark, the shop manager failed to call back with info as he claimed he would. Mark charged another customer for my work at one point, didnt finish the work and erroneously told me to come pick the car up, the tank was bone dry and couldnt be driven off the lot, Mark poured gas all over my cars paint while rushing to fix the previous problem. I asked for the unfinished work to be completed, and Mark told me it was too inconvenient for him to that day, and that I should come back another day. After all that I just couldnt trust that the work will be done. My classic is too valuable to trust with these knuckleheads, so I wont be back.Edit: None of the information in the owners reply was shared with me before this, and I tried to contact him directly to try and work this out before posting. When I spoke with Mark directly, I was not offered an earlier pickup. If there was more info coming on the internet, Mark should have sent me there when we spoke or just told me. Mark told me every time we talked that the car was not ready but would be the next day, but that was never true. In fact, when we spoke I asked specific questions about pickup and our schedules to ensure my car wouldnt be there taking space any longer than needed.Mark did not share that the shifter broke during a move in the shop.I did not realize your shop broke the shifter knob until reading your reply here, I guess I assumed that somehow they needed to remove the center console when working on the dash.The electrical components your shop replaced on the dash, as Mark explained to me, were also causing the gas gauge to read incorrectly as well, so even if I brought the car in low, maybe give me a heads up before pickup that you used the rest of my gas and didnt replace it?All that plus Mark spilled the gas on the car and charged my job wrong, I felt like I couldnt trust anything that was going on, and started to question everything. Its a horrible feeling, and then to have to plead and argue to get a damn screw replaced was ridiculous.

I used to take all my cars to Tooles Garage for a few years but then I purchased a new Acura MDX and serviced it at the dealer. I really missed the service I used to receive from Tooles so I brought my Acura for a routine maintenance. As always they did a great job. They are real nice people and I trust them fully with all my auto repairs.

Great group, professional and conscientious. Gave me a free loaner car for the time my vehicle was down. My repairs took longer to fix than expected but the results were favorable. They are not inexpensive. Their prices are comparable to the dealerships.

The folks at Tooles garage are by far the most professional and courteous you’ll ever find. I had to fight tooth and nail with my extended warranty company and Ford motor company to try and get a known defect fixed and Toole’s helped the whole way. Even though I wasn’t able to get Ford or Alpha warranty (never use these guys) to cover the issue Toole’s helped me out and was patient with the process as I tried to get the situation resolved. In the end Toole’s was great and ended up even finding the parts at a discount which they passed on which was great. I have recommended Toole’s to a few Friends who have also had good experiences.

Tooles helped with replacing my thermostat as well a showed me that my brake fluid needed to be flushed and replaced. Also identified a potential major engine issue (oil leak), and were totally understanding when I said Id go to the cars dealership to the fix done and covered under the powertrain warranty. Tooles is a little pricier but super professional and trust that they do their work very well.

I had a wonderful experience with Tooles Garage. I have heard many great things about Tooles and was very nervous to go to a new shop. Tony at Tooles made sure that I was always aware of what they were doing with my car, and I was so pleased when my phone buzzed and they had sent pictures of everything they inspected. I then was given the option to approve or deny certain jobs from my phone! It was so convenient. Right after I approved online, Tony gave me a call to confirm and answer any questions I may have had about the suggested repairs. My battery went dead at home. Tooles came out and jumped it and took it to the shop to test. Battery tested low and was past age so they replaced it and did a courtesy check up as well. They picked up and brought back the car as a courtesy also. They are polite and caring as well as competent.. As I cant be out because of covid this was incredibly helpful .They have always provided excellent care and service no matter which car needed it. Could not recommend them more highly! Even though I have only been to them once, I feel like I trust them as much as I trusted the family friend mechanic in my hometown. Highlights include:- High level of transparency: they take the time to explain what they find, even with pictures, and all communicated with a great software that allowed me to approve or reject each recommended repair separately- Honest and fair pricing. I came in to diagnose check engine lights and immediately they told me oh, the common issue with a Prius like yours is the battery; our full diagnostic is over $300 but well check that first and if thats the issue then we wouldnt charge you the full amount -- love that! Ive never encountered a team that was so upfront and honest with their approach.- Fast and communicative -- very quick turnaround on my diagnostics, not to mention taking a lot of time to explain to me how my car worked and what my options are, and help me decide what would be best (which did not involve further repairs, which I think a lot of dishonest shops would have pushed for!) As some context, my car is very old with a lot of mileage, which means that typically during oil changes I either dont get a lot of time doing a detailed inspection (its on its last legs anyway) or a lot of upsell (Im not looking to spend more than the KBB value of the car repairing it!). The team here took the time but also was honest in telling me when repairs probably wouldnt be worth it, and then gave me advice about what I should look for as I car shop.Will 100% be back for all future car needs!!

What turned me on to Tooles in the first place is that, unlike the local Honda dealership, you can actually schedule an appointment online. The shop is very tech savvy: inspection results are sent via email and text, with supporting photos. And to top it all off, they can deliver your car to your home address in case you are going to be away while they do the repairs. Trina, who runs the front office, is a goddess.

I have had to work with Mark for a couple of things recently, and I could not be more impressed with his professionalism. He is quick to address the problem and very precise with the resolution. I checked a couple of mechanics in my area and found Tooles brake fluid cleaning and spark plug replacement to be 15% higher for both parts and labor combined. Unfortunate, as I was looking for a new garage to work on my truck, but not for sure what I gain for an additional 15%.

My husband always told me to bring my Mercedes into Toole’s but I just figured all auto repair shops were somewhat the same. Not so. My check engine light indicated there was something happening deep in the engine and that there was a hefty price tag to resolve it. Clearly I was not happy but much to my surprise, they were able to isolate the problem and fix only the part posing as a problem saving me many thousands of dollars! These guys are honest and do thorough work. What a breath of fresh air!!

Great service. My cars battery died so my car wouldn’t start. I had it towed to Toole’s and they had it working again by Wednesday. They even plugged it into there ev charger and gave that battery a full charge. They also put new windshield wipers on, my request but still they did that as well. So it was a productive mechanic visit.

My Toyota Tundra needed some TLC, and I had just moved to San Carlos, when I found this mechanic shop on Google maps. So rather than going to the Toyota dealership as I have always done, I took my truck here. Excellent customer service from the moment I walked in for the first time, through the time I took home my vehicle. Fast, efficient, thorough, clean, friendly, and informative business. Also, great coffee and snacks in the waiting area, plus the called me a Lyft to my home at drop off. When I picked up my truck the owners son informed me of the warranty on their work which includes free towing, should anything go wrong over the next few years. I will definitely return to Tooles Garage.

I came in to have my air conditioning cleaned and recharged, and they gave a look at everything else I got a Picture and was told all that was even a slightest issue and very professional and didn’t feel like I was Dumb because of being a woman there is no paper trail with this company it’s all done digitally. My mechanic recently retired and I was regretting having to find another. Took my vehicle to Tooles for an issue and they were professional with great customer service. Looks like I might have found my future mechanic.

This is an incredible shop and I couldnt be happier. I had the first 130,000 miles for my Infiniti cared for at the dealership (which just shut down). I was worried about anyone else caring for my car, until I met this incredible family owned business. These people are pure professionals and I simply could not be happier. I have always been treated as a person, and never had that typical doubt as with other places that try to upsell you on additional services or exaggerate issues or claim worn parts (but were conveniently discarded so theres no evidence to be examined). What a great place! I took it in for what turned out to be a dead battery and ended up having them do some other routine maintenance while it was in there. They gave me a very detailed report of what needed to be done which was super informative....and they got it done same day. Everyone I met or spoke to was kind and professional. I just moved to San Carlos and am so glad to have found them.

Everyone at Toole’s Garage is courteous and knowledgeable. They always thoroughly check your car during the service and let you know the results. Then they discuss the results with you and let you know what is important to fix now vs what can wait for a while. If you notice any problems after the service, they will coordinate another time to fix the issue free if charge. I know my car is in good hands at Toole’s.
