Made reservations online, and on the afternoon of departure, we walked in, signed paperwork, and received keys within all 20 minutes! Our RV was ready for us, engine warmed up, and generator running. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and walked us through everything we had questions about. 2 adults in a 25 medium was perfect. We returned 5 days later, and were checked back in within 20 minutes. Loved this trip! Will definitely go again this summer, no doubt.
Having never rented an RV before, El Monte RV made our experience a great one! They were the only ones that had open communication with us and responded to our rental request, after contacting other RV rentals companies online and getting no one to respond. The representative was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional! We cant wait to plan our next trip!
I want to give five stars however Maddie at the office was not as friendly as I would have liked. Her customer service skills need to improve because I wouldn’t want to go back and do business with her. Also she was about to charge me for something that I did not need to be charged for.
I had planned a last minute trip request for my 85 year old mom. I had reserved a motor home from another rental agency and on day of pickup they had nothing for me and were really rude about it. I had a friend suggest i try El Monte Rv. I called the 800 reservation number and was assured that I could pick up on the next morning, this was the same thing that had just happened to me with the other company. When I called the next morning they saw the reservation but said they had nothing for me. I do not understand why these companies have 800 numbers to call when they obviously do not have the power to reserve you anything. With that being said and after explaining to a very helpful employee, Madelyn, she made some calls and she managed to get me a motor home for my 5 day trip. Everyone at El Monte Rv was very kind and helpful to help me with my moms birthday wish. We had a great time and its thanks to El Monte Rv . I will only rent from them on any future rental needs
We had a great experience doing business with El Monte RV Rentals of San Bernardino. Staff was very friendly and informative in explaining all the details with the necessary paperwork of planning a trip. They were very helpful in answering all our questions about the rental. The RV we rented was in good running condition, very clean when picking up, we didnt run into any problems. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to rent an RV. Terrible terrible terrible is all i have to say about there customer service and there RV’s are falling apart or dont work half the time.Also biggest pet peeve is they charge you $1000 incase you incur damages but if you dont they refund it to you at the end of your trip. Its now a week later and i still haven’t gotten the money back and when i call them they have no clue what to do or say about it. Im going to have to dispute it with the credit card company now.If you want headaches like these then by all means go here.

LONG REVIEW- TL;DR - Customer service didnt feel customer oriented, had problems with RV. But if we *had* to rent from here again, we might. We were comped for some items for inconvenience. Continue for details:We were first-time RV renters. When we first called to ask about rentals, the woman who answered spoke so fast we couldnt even process what she was saying and when we would ask her to clarify, it seemed like we were bothering her. Still, we reserved a rental.Upon being contacted for rental pickup, again - fast speaking woman was the one who called us. She gave us the time we needed to go pick up, but no other information.I had a short list of questions but only got to ask one because as soon as she gave me the answer and I said thank you (for the answer), she ended the call and hung up.I brought my dad along to the rental pick-up so our car could be driven back by someone. The same woman from the calls was the same to service us at the counter. She had us sign off rental info then asked for the authorized drivers to sign the paper. I signed, my dad signed, then I told her that my husband was at work and therefore not present to sign.Then he cant drive. Mind you, we werent told that all drivers would have to be present (again, first time renters so we had no idea what to expect). So that was a wouldve-been-nice-to-know moment.We inspected the RV interior on our own because of COVID guidelines and was shown existing minor exterior bumps and dings that we were not responsible for. Then, we just kind of stood there outside. Finally someone came out to give us the last of our paperwork and we were like, ..so, do we just leave now? We just didnt really feel very well informed on whats supposed to happen and when.Got home with the RV and cleaned the interior myself (not sure if they also clean it, but it still needed some attention). Also, good thing I tested and checked all storage areas because the storage key actually cracked (rusted). That wouldve been a nightmare on the road. So I drove back to the rental place to get a replacement.We learned on our first night out that one of the hoses underneath the RV wasnt properly connected/glued to the drainage (? - I dont know anything about how it worked. I just know our fresh water drainage was leaking everywhere at the RV site and my husband had to do a quick fix to remedy it).Also, electrical outlets in the kitchen and dining area did not work so we were hooking up our small appliances into the bedroom outlets or overhead compartments. For these things, our additional mileage was waived which was I think about $80.When we returned the RV, the fast-speaking woman seemed much nicer than our initial interactions with her. However, while she was nice with us this time, there was a man who came in looking to ask questions about his upcoming rental and she told him repeatedly she didnt have time to answer anything and shed have to call him which, to me, seemed unprofessional because she couldve asked either my family or the man to hang on a bit while she addressed one or the other.Ill add that the rest of the staff (young man and young woman) though nice, seem unknowledgeable. I think if they had the skillset to address some of the concerns then it would make for a smoother process for all parties because the woman seems stressed out and the younger employees seem like they want to help, but cant.
Amazing staff! Very helpful in this global pandemic. I wanted to be self contained during our vacation to Zion National Park. Called El Monte and the girl was very informative and helpful even while keeping distance and a mask on! While on my trip I was confused as to where to hook the water connection to. A simple call to the San Bernardino office and Kailey helped me out and we were back on route to enjoying our campsite! Exceptional service during a global pandemic!
El Monte RV took care of me and my family we had never rented an RV they made it easy both ladies who helped us were fabulous in explaining all and answered all my questions including finding my medicine I left in the RV I’m coming back! To rent!
Absolutely the easiest and friendliest RV rental I have ever done! Brianna and Carlos were ssooo nice and went out of their way to make sure we knew everything we needed for a perfect weekend. From explaining how the water heater works to directions to Walmart to stock up, there wasnt a single thing overlooked or lacking. We were delayed for check-in due to heavy traffic and they stayed open late for us! The RV- a 22 motorhome- was great! Everything worked beautifully and the price was way under what we were quoted from other rental companies.If we are ever back in this part of Cali- we travel for music fests, so it is a safe bet we will- we will definitely rent from here again!!!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We will never again rent from El Monte RV Rentals. They let us rent an RV that needed maintenance. The grey water pipe was broken and caused major leakage. We had to move from our camping space and lost a whole day to repairs. For us, that was upsetting because we didnt have a lot of time off to use for this trip, so every minute counted. Additionally, the hose for dumping the tanks, including the black water tank, was broken and my husband cut himself several times! He had to get a tetanus shot! The best they could do was wave miles and comp a night, but that was only after I had to complain to them multiple times how upsetting this was to us. Definitely going back to Cruise America for our next trip!
My wife actually said that our camping trip was relaxing. The RV worked as expected, stove started with a few clicks, AC kicked on in the late afternoon, and the shower was Hot. The best feature was the TV and DVD player in the cab over that worked with out the generator running. Our toddler was so excited to spend his morning and evenings up in his own private area. We look forward to renting again.
We rented our RV for a trip to the National Parks in October 2014. Everyone in the office was so helpful it made our trip complete. We had started the process about 6 months prior to our trip. I had several questions as the trip date got closer and closer. No matter how many times I would call with new questions, the staff was always great to work with. They always made me feel as if I was the only customer they had and took time to answer all of my questions. The RV that we rented was excellent and our first RV experience was one that we will always remember. We are currently thinking of renting another RV, a smaller one, for our next vacation, and we would never consider working with any other company. We live about 200 miles away from the rental center, but getting the El Monte RV Rentals & Sales great service, is well worth the drive. The staff was very easy to work with and on the day we picked up the RV, they made it so simple and quick that before you knew it, we were on the road to a new adventure. We would never consider any other company to work with for our RV rental needs.
Honestly, I have no idea how this place has business with the worst customer service attitude. Makes you feel like if youre bothering them and in their way. I wasnt able to get the name of the girl at the front desk, but someone needs to retrain her in customer service and how to properly interact with a first time customer. Will not be returning to this place and will rent an RV where my almost retired dad will be treated with respect when all he was asking was questions about RVs, rental process, and how RVs look.

People are nice, RVs are nice. I have problems with policies and rules. Read insurance paperwork! You are charged $40 per day and not fully insured. You are are charges for full day that you are not using the RV. Pick up 1 PM frop off 8 am. Rates of online, over the phone and in stores are not the same.
Great service, staff was available on Sunday to help with an emergency. Will rent again.

I rented an RV for the Desert Trip concert in Coachella Valley and it was a great way to go. The RV was easy to drive and very clean. The service was great and the people working there are very thorough. They walked me through all the paperwork and then gave a complete walk through of the RV. This Rental that I recently did was much easier than originally thought. The folks at El Monte RV in San Berdo were very accommodating. This was my first time and my Wife and I had a Blast. The unit was very Clean and New and we both were very happy that we decided to do this. It changed are usual Camping Big Time and turned it in to what we called GLAMPING!Glamorous Camping! Rental took more than a week, because when I was told they would call back, no one called.However, picking up the RV was easy and the explanation of how everything worked was thorough. RV handled very well, and check in was also quick. Will definitely return.

I recently rented with El Monte RV and it was a great experience from first call to when I returned the RV. I rented out of San Bernardino and everything exceeded my expectations. Felicia helped answer some questions when I first called, then when I arrived to rent the RV she was quick and informative with all the paperwork and showing me and my wife how to use the RV. When we got in the RV it was almost brand new, the interior and exterior was clean, the bathroom was clean, it was perfect. Will definitely be renting for all our trips now. Thanks!

In December I Rented a 25 RV for the weekend to go to the San Diego Chargers game. The RV was clean and everything worked well. The staff at the San Bernardino location were excellent and helpful in showing me what I needed to knowI had one issue when I connected the park cable to the motorhome. The channels were not working so I called the number and they walked me through the setup. I do think we got more channels when we were using the roof antenna.I would rent from them again.
This was the first year we rented with El Monte. We rented an RV last year with Cruise America and that RV was very difficult to control on the road. The front end was all over the place. The RV from El Monte drove really smooth and had the power to get up large hills. The staff was great very friendly. We wil be back next year.

I am very unhappy with El Monte RV. I made a four day reservation and needed to change it to three days. I was told the rate would not be reduced due to minimum day policy. I found no such language in their terms and conditions.
