Went in there today,I walked into all rooms twice and no one talked to me. Walked all around store and dude at counter would only look at me,he answered one phone call took care of customer when I Walken in and still not even a well be with you sir. Nothing,thats why I Walked out needing 4 doors of 3way components for my car. Not even worth one star as I saw another salesman walk past and not a word.

The San Pedro location of Custom Sounds sets the bar for car audio and tint installation in San Antonio. Gus hooked up a great price, same day installation on ceramic tint. They had the job done in less than 2 hours.

Went to get a sub installed that I had, Brandon said it wouldn’t work. So I went with an option he provided me. Sounded good, so I went with his recommendation. He found a box and said it was for my F150 said it would take a few hours or so, I waited excited and then he tells me sorry we don’t have that box after waiting almost two hours. He said he could get the correct box and in a few days I’d be good to go when I came back. I called to check the status, he didn’t call me, and he said that box was not made anymore but I could come in and get a wedge box that might fit. I was beyond frustrated because we should have tried that wedge box while I was there. Total waste of my time and the prices are pretty high. I found the box custom made for my truck on EBay with 12” sub and amp, the entire kit includes wiring for more than half the price. And it sounds amazing and did it myself. This place blows and the customer service sucks balls .. take your business somewhere else

I had my speaker installed at the San Pedro location and when I got my car back it sounded ok but it wasnt the speakers I paid for they only they had was hertz at that time. when I was paying for focal so that was already bad they installed the tweeters in the wrong place and then they both fell out of the door and now I have a short in my system, they cut a hole where its not suppose to be and my system turns off and on and the broke the Radio panel. Now I gotta find time for them to fix all this and waste another whole day of my car being there... I thought custom sounds was suppose to be good for installing radio but I was wrong.

Went to Custom Sounds & Tint to upgrade some of the tech in my beloved 2010 Tahoe. Gus was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He really understands his inventory and his business. We talked through some options and I went with a new double DIN JVC touch screen stereo head, new hands free microphone to replace the factory one, backup camera and high quality tint for the front door windows. They also fixed a whine in the rear speakers from the factory amp that Gus diagnosed accurately by hearing me describe it. All of the work done was absolutely top notch and it was even ready within 5 minutes of when Gus said it would be. The deck in the dash looks like it was installed by GM at the factory and everything works and sounds perfect. I will only use Custom Sounds & Tint and Gus from here on out for all of my audio needs in any of my trucks. I could not recommend an auto audio shop more highly than Gus and crew.

Good price and good installation. Yet they cracked my dashboard and left my car a mess in many ways. Satisfied with the work, but definitely not happy about the care to my car. I will be heading out to search for a new dashboard and more due to damages on my vehicle.

Horrible customer service that matches their horrible tint job. Double charged me for my appointment because I booked online and they would not credit me or refund me because they said their website wasn’t their responsibility. Still have yet to refund me, so now I have to dispute it through my credit card. Took 8 hours for a simple tint job that had dirt bubbles and marks on all windows and rear windshield. If you want to be double charged and left with a job like mine then use custom sounds. If you want a quality job, go somewhere else.

Wish I came here first! I have a newer Chevy Colorado with the factory Bose system. Unfortunately I went to a different shop for audio that had good reviews, but botched the install as the newer vehicle systems are a little more challenging when retaining the factory head unit. Gus and Joe went out of their way to fix the problem. Since I felt very confident in the shop, and their pricing was great I also decided to add a bigger JL audio amp and sub. They have a closed off wood shop for custom enclosures so the shop floor stays very clean. Their goal was to make the cleanest enclosure setup possible, as I wanted a factory look. Joe definitely exceeded my expectations on the install and Gus was great at helping me find what best fit my needs and budget. They even stayed late past closing as well to get the job done. I will definitely be back, thanks again!

I bought my wife a stereo and all the wiring and mounting acc. that it took to get it hooked up in her truck. Price was good, but after the sale, I had some trouble figuring out the wiring. Mike C. helped me all the way through. Quick response was appreciated and it kind of caught me off guard. In a good way. Very disappointed in this place. For all the money I spent my A/C no longer blows like it should and in the end after taking 3 times back I need am AMP just to make it sound like it should. Another 500.00 dollars to go to the 900 already spent.

A great place to demo and hear products. They off install, however, I chose to install my own gear. Staff is very knowledgeable and dont try to sell you anything you dont need. They also offer progressive leasing to help assist with those big ticket items. Ive never had a bad experience at any of their store locations

This place is like night and day compared to Custom Sounds on Walzem. More staff, more options and WAY better customer service. I came in to get my speakers checked out, and they got back to me within 30 min. They then installed new speakers, which took some time (about 4 hours), BUT they let me know why it was taking longer every step of the way. I would definitely recommend this place if your looking to upgrade your sound system.

Man i tell you what this place is awesome!!!! Came in for some tint on my dodge the other day an right off the bat i was greeted by Gus! This guy was super awesome an knowledgeable. Amazing Update!Five minutes after I made this review I got a phone call from the upper management and apologized for the experience and offered to refund my money in full!!This is why I do business with big players in the game who hold their staff accountable!Thank you customer sounds for listening to me and as soon as they make those harnesses for the 2020 Ford F350s I’ll be back!Where do I start?I walked into custom sounds and told them that I wanted an apple play radio, two screens and headphones for my 2020 F350. They looked on their system and told me that yes they had everything to install what I wanted. Gus sold me a stereo, two headrest monitors and 2 headphones. My truck was there on Saturday and Sunday all day. On Sunday at 6:00 PM he called me to let me know that they were not able to install the radio that I selected because they did not have the correct harness. He said that my truck was ready to be picked up and he was going to refund me my money for the stereo. I went to see my truck and the monitors did not even work correctly, The two headphones that were purchased with it were two different brands and did not even match each other. He told me he did not have a DVD to test the monitors. He also did not have batteries for the headphones. So now we are spending another 30 minutes to get the headphones connected and make sure that the DVD monitors work. Now I have 2 head rest monitors and no stereo that I wanted. Had they installed the stereo first they would’ve realized that they couldn’t do it and refunded my money. I told Gus that I did not feel comfortable only getting half of what I wanted. I told him that I wanted to return the headrest since they couldn’t do the complete project. He started arguing with me about it.... telling me he doesn’t understand why I don’t feel comfortable getting the two monitors and not what I originally purchased.I asked him what his return policy was and he said that he could return the monitors but I was going to have to pay for the installation. What I originally paid for and got are two totally different things. Now I have to pay $250 for their mistake. They could not produce what I wanted but now want to charge me for work that they shouldn’t have done in the first place.Now they removed the monitors and left The back of my seats uninstalled. They sent one of their installers to my truck and looked upset that he had to fix it. I wish I would have taken photos of the miss matched headsets and us trying to get the monitors to work at 7 PM.I tried to hire professionals but this time it ended up costing me money. I’m not happy and I will write a negative review on every platform until I get my $250 worth. If you are one of the owners and would like to reach out to me I would gladly like to let you know about your business.

We had an appointment for 9:30 this morning . We didnt get out of there until 4:00. The mounting plate is in upside down. The radio was smudged with fingerprints. We dont live in San Antonio and now we are caught up in traffic to get home. It was a wasted day to get a back up camera. It is as if no one cares and to make you wait. Now the radio will have to pulled out and put in the right way. Im not too happy with this service.

Gus Lozano is an awesome professional who takes his time to make sure your car tint looks perfect and stereo sounds unbelievable as to live up to or even exceed your excited consumer expectations.Everything I was going for from the tint to the subwoofer(s) were aided by his very experienced recommendations. Hes was never upselling, he was simply telling me the very best solution for what I was going for and of course if you do not want or cannot afford that, work your way down to your budget level.I pretty much gave Gus carte blanche (do whatever you feel is best under my directions, money isnt too much of a worry here) on my car and man Im glad I did. Because my original idea just didnt work. The one Gus worked his way up to from my weak idea over the course of the day my car spent at Custom Sounds San Pedro sure works like you wouldnt believe! Wow Im so happy with the sound! Blows you away, especially if youre a rock guy, which I certainly am!The tint expectedly had a few bubbles here and there, but after curing for several days in the limited sun we had plus parking in a dry garage allowed them to go away. They mightve gone away anyway, as they used nice tint. Probably another few days and theyll be perfect, but they already look that way I think.. I would like to give a big thank you to Gus. If it wasnt for him I would not do business with custom sounds. I had to take my tundra back to the shop 3 times before the issue was discovered and corrected. Gus was very helpful and he even offered my compensation or upgrade on my speakers for the trouble was having. He knew I was getting frustrated but he stayed professional and helped every time until he figured out it was the wiring in the new Toyota tundra trucks. Once he figured that out he fixed the issue right away. So again THANK YOU GUS for all your hard work.

I had my Ford Explorer Tinted and had a gps system installed. Travis went through the best demonstration of the radio and its features. I really love how I can use the button on my steering wheel to do voice commands for basically everything! The tint really does make a big difference on heat. He really knew how to demonstrate everything and made me feel so comfortable. Thanks again Travis! I will recommend to all of my friends and family.

Place is set up perfectly, I had an awesome sales person Vien Danh that helped me with all my questions, the only thing I have to go back because I had explained what vehicle I was installing a Kenwood Excelon dmx907s double din in and I wasnt offered the proper installation kit so I couldnt finish installation. But its all good maybe they forgot or didnt hear me correctly, it happens. I still recommend this place.

Products are great but quality of installations are very poor. I have been to other locations and they are good but this location is below par. Carpet does not stay put anymore and clips are broken in many places. Headliner, back seat, floor. They do not take of your vehicle

UPDATE- so since happened Gus has been really helpful in trying to help us fix the situation. Even though I had given up and didn’t think he’d keep his word about helping us fix it days later he called my husband again to see if we fixed the problem yet and that they’d still help me fix the problem 👍🏼We got our windows tinted here and we liked the work so we went in to have our system installed and they called back 4 hrs later when it should have been ready saying that our amp was broken and that they tried fixing it for 3 hrs. So my husband went in pretty upset and they then told him they couldn’t fix the amp and they weren’t allowed to fix it since we didn’t buy it from them but the system was in his truck that morning before being switched to my car so we know it was working. After being there for about an hour somebody came out and finally said he was going to fix the amp and did it in 10 mins. And we picked up the car about another 20 mins later. Only to get in the car and see our bsd lights were not working and our traction light was on and the abs light was on as well. I was driving the car home so when I got home I showed my husband so he called them and they said bring it in and we get there today and they say the lights were already on but we just got the car and I always check for lights I know my mirror lights were working when I dropped it off. They finally came to look at it and took it to the back. After we just spent almost $500 here for them to just call us liars. First of all why would you spend 3 hours trying to fix an amp you were not allowed to fix if you didn’t break it?? And then we get there and the problem is fixed within minutes??-

This place was packed on a Monday and shockingly enough they got the job done pretty quickly. My dads 2020 truck looked better than when he first rolled it off the lot!

Hands down best install shop. I’m not an audio expert but i came in for a speaker install on a slow day and I got the best service I could’ve asked for. Joe spent at least two hours helping me find the best components at a pretty decent price working with Gus (a manager I think) to get me squared away. Definitely coming back for anything more I need with my sound system in the future.

I’ve done business with CS for close to 30 years now and it’s always been a good experience, always very satisfied with the final product.For the first time in all these years we ran into an unexpected problem with the installation of an amp and speakers in my mercedes glc63 amg. Nobody was happy with what happened but Gus stepped up his level of service several notches, not just to make me comfortable, but to take full responsibility and completely correct the problem we encountered, that is true professionalism. Went in to get a new radio in my car. The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable but I felt overwhelmed, Joe came out to look at my car and explained everything in a way that made sense and made me comfortable. Gave this place two opportunities. Every time I’ve had them install a head unit, it’s taken way longer than they said. I’ve had to return both times to have something fixed. Example, today arrived at 1130, told 3 hours, still hear now after 7.5 hrs.Update: I was contacted by a supervisor to apologize for the lengthy wait and asked if there was anything they could do to make it up. I told them I wasn’t seeking anything. I just wanted people to know, that the time estimate is usually way optimistic here. I do appreciate them reaching out to try to make things right.

Did a great job on my tint, clean and sanitized, however the customer service not so great guy at desk was not nice nor Friendly and he encouraged me to go elsewhere for my tint very horrible on his part would not want him to be my employee

Travis went over and above getting my civic tinted and the audio system sounds amazing. He went through all the features of the new screen and I’m absolutely blown away by the sound quality.

This place takes forever, if you get a alarm and u bring your car at 10:00 am expect to be here longer than 5 hours I dont know if the work is consistence of working the vehicle a whole 5 + hours .But they really need to be better at there job requirements.

The store and people are great. They show you one system that would be great for my needs. But then they write an estimate for everything under the sun that I didnt need or want. Oh my.

I usually don’t leave reviews but the service I received from Gus and his install manager Joe was incredible. I came in to get an audio upgrade in my new Jeep Gladiator and they knocked it out of the park; Joe even made custom panels to fit larger speakers in the rear! I will definitely come back for any future needs.

One of the worst experience. My appointment was at 10am. Got there at 9:55. The young guy said itll take a couple of hours. An hour and half goes by and my car was still parked in front. Not seen or worked on. I leave and go back at 5:10 and my car still wasnt ready. The guy had the nerve to say they had a problem but they have their main guy looking at it. He itll take an hour or so. Go to another place and hope you get better service.

Gus helped me get a built in radar in my porsche and my wife’s Cadillac. I have gone to them for years. Billy did the installs and did a very clean and professional job. I will be taking my raptor there next for a full system and built in radar! Thanks guys!

I ran into an issue with my subs installed at another location and brought it to the San Pedro location where they were able to fix it right away. Albert Mesa took great care of me and made sure I left happy. If you need great work done, go to Albert He’ll take great care of you and he knows his stuff.

An Amazing experience. They designed an incredibly cool system for my Jeep. One of a kind knock you off your feet with the WOW factor. TEAM there is responsive and VERY creative. I purchased window tint. A new stereo, bass box with built in amp, an alarm system, and keyless remote entry with start for my 2014 Toyota Corolla. A little over $2000.00. They was very professional, honest, and very fair on the price. Even after the service I had a couple small issues that they drove all the way to my job to resolve. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. I will be bringing my wifes car in to get the windows tinted soon.

I have had a complete stereo system installed in my pick, and a front/rear camera installed in my other car.It does not matter what you own. They do great work and back there work up.

Have been using these guys for years. A while back, the one of Hertz speakers I purchased and had installed by them in my truck stopped working. I saw on the Hertz website that there was a three year warranty IF they were installed by a factory authorized tech/dealer. I had Hertz speakers in the front doors that I had purchase in 2014 and a pair in the back doors that I had purchased a little over a year ago. I couldnt remember which was the more recent purchase so I called Custom sounds to inquire about the three year warranty. The salesman was pretty short with me basically saying that they while they sold them, they did not cover the three year warranty as stated by Hertz on their website. So I hung up and went on Amazon to purchase some new speakers. Later that night, Custom Sounds company owner/manager, Faddi (sp), actually called me at home to inquire about my phone call earlier in the day. He apologized for the misinformation given by his salesman an assured me that they stood behind their installs and products. He informed me however that the front speakers that I had purchased from them were in fact purchase much more than three years ago. Even with this, he said, I want to assure you we stand behind our installs and products. Bring in your truck and well replace them. I replied that since they were the older pair and way past warranty, I wouldnt feel right doing that. He was insistent that I bring my truck in to remedy the issue. I then informed him that I had already purchased a new pair off of Amazon. He replied, Well, Im sorry you already did that, at least bring in your truck and well install those for you you. I was amazed that a company owner, went to these links to investigate a phone call from one of his stores, get my number, call me and offer these remedies despite the fact that my speakers were way out of warranty. THAT is customer service. While I wont be taking advantage of his free offer since the mistake was mine, he has earned a loyal customer in the future and I will recommend them to anyone looking for tint or car audio. Ill be paying them for the install of my new speakers :)

Had wiring issues to my viper alarm caused by the Ford dealership i took my vehicle to get work done at. The staff was very knowledgeable!
