My husband and I accompanied our son to Lisas office to consult with them and we were blown away. Thought they were amazing! Quoted us a price of a maximum $5,000 from Lisa Vance herself to establish custody documents for our son with regards to his infant daughter. We were handed over to another attorney within the firm, which was fine.However, after being charged at every turn, our mediation agreement cost a total of $17,000. We do have a custody agreement in place that required no more than mediation and was in no way complicated. Completely believe we were deceived and taken advantage of by this firm. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PRICE QUOTE! THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY!

Even Lisa Vance herself turned on us in the end with ugly words stating we would not be a part of our grandchildren’s life if we did not continue to keep her on and fight the endless ugly battle. Do not waist your time with the Law Office of Lisa Vance. She has 100 minions that work for her and they all dip into your retaining fee. I was a client for 3 weeks with the law office and nothing was accomplished. I was charged twice for the same telephone conversation and each time the same plan of action was discussed but nothing moved forward. I was charged for collecting, sending and her review of the things she needed for my case. I was charged for her office’s “many attempts” to contact the Court Administrator to schedule a hearing date. I was charged for documents that she “prepared” but I was never sent an email for my review of these documents I was charged for. Half my retainer fee was kept just for communicating about why I needed legal assistance.Oh and I soon realized that one of her “great”reviews was written by a woman with the exact same first and last name as of one of her minions that was helping with my case.

Lisa did great work for me and my family. She made herself available to us on weekends when necessary and made sure we had a deal with my ex that was fair. Lisa went beyond what was necessary to make sure we could afford her and helped us when we needed it most. Thank you!

If you have a non-contested divorce, I suspect you could hire the majority of the attorneys in San Antonio and would be happy with their ability to file the proper paperwork necessary to end the marriage. Unfortunately what I have found is that if you have a contested divorce involving children, one with special needs that it is very difficult to find an attorney that has the skills and experience to address those very different needs properly. Before Lisa Vance, I had four attorneys that had the highest of ratings on the various attorney referral websites but their legal services were on the verge of being unethical and definitely were unsatisfactory, due to their inability to comply with the basic ethical standard of their duty to inform and defend their clients legal rights and options. My legal rights/needs not being addressed by my previous attorneys for just a few months had ramifications that I could have never dreamed of. I was finally given Lisa Vances name because I begged someone in the legal profession for the name of an attorney that could not only stand up to my ex-husbands attorney but would think outside of the box in looking at what legal options I had available to address the best interests of my sons and I. Lisa is not a cookie-cutter attorney, she knows the law inside and out but that is not whats most impressive about her, it is her experience. The combination of her education and experience, along with her passion for justice, has allowed me to feel safe with an attorney for the first time, knowing that my sons and I rights will be protected. Lawyer was very professional and knowledgeable, I had an issue with the paralegal assigned. Having a good paralegal that is available and responsive is very important. Our initial discussions were with Kimberly Painter but we ended up working with Dylan George, who represented us very well. He was very knowledgeable, invested time to learn the complexities of our case, and he was a genuine advocate for us. Plus, they had to clean up something of a mess created by our prior attorney. I wish we had hired this firm from the beginning of our case - it would have saved us a lot of time and headache.

Crooks, liars, thieves, snakes. They will accuse you instead of defend you. They will absolutely take advantage of you and your emotional state if you are getting divorced. They make promises and do not follow through. They will give you a quote then charge you $400+ for ONE fax and then QUADRUPLE their original quote although you have done nothing to increase those charges. They churn their invoices; be prepared to be charged for the same item at least 5 times. They will make unsolicited calls to your cell phone at all hours of the day and try to give you therapist advice, ask if youre okay, etc. then charge you for all of those 30-minute conversations. When you try to get out from using them as your lawyers, you will again receive unsolicited calls from them trying to convince you to stay. Their finance worker/invoice prepare-er will know ALL of what you did/did not receive in the divorce and threaten you into paying your bill with that knowledge--breach in confidentiality. Worst people I have ever trusted besides my ex-husband. They did NOTHING to help me. They will smile and talk sweetly and politely. They are incredibly smart, but in the sense that they will take everything you have and leave you with no peace of mind. My ex-husband STILL torments me by sending mail constantly. They did not help when he took thousands of dollars from me, they did not help when he threatened me, harassed me, nothing.

Couldn’t have gotten through a nightmare of a divorce without the expertise, wisdom, and knowledge Lisa and her staff has to offer. Forever grateful for all she did for my brother and his rights as a father.

This has to be the crookedest attorney in town. She extorted over 180,000 from me in less than 3 months for a temporary order. Her staff was unprofessional and rude and they are master billers but no results. The person they recommended for an expert witness was demoted to a regular witness. The test they recommended for my ex to take to prove up his guilt has never been approved in case law admissible in court. They failed to plead for child support and Im still not have been fighting to get child support. The other therapist they recommended be appointed as family mediator charged overv 6k for test and concluded zero. All a money making pit of legalized extortion with zero results. Thus allowing my case to extend forever and the billing to continue. This office has mastered the art of over billing and legal extortion. If you want to spend your life savings for a custody case or divorce then spend a week here and they will take it. These other ratings on here are probably bought and paid for. Everybody in town knows this attorney is a legal crook. She has been robbing vulnerable families for decades with complete immunity from the State Bar.
