Staff at the front is always kind and welcoming, they seem to remember the vast majority of their customers by name which adds to the welcome feeling. Nice selection of bourbon and other drinks, and the haircuts I’ve gotten are always neat and tidy. Love coming here and it’s a great experience every time. Great value as a member to keep yourself looking clean cut.

I have been a customer here since they opened, approximately a year getting 3 haircuts a month and spending $150-200 per month. I tip well and have enjoyed the business. Today, I got my hair cut and I was told I cannot book appointments in advance unless I am a member and since I was not a member she would be canceling the 4 appointments I had booked. I told her, if I dont book in advance, there are no appointments at all so I guess I will have to go somewhere else, and she said, that is fine with us! What a stellar business model.

This place is amazing. Always do a perfect job cutting my hair. Give them a try. I don’t think you will regret it! Ask for Amanda or Belle. They are both fantastic. Really though, you can’t go wrong with any of the stylists. Great staff, great work, super friendly and relaxing.

A true gentlemen’s club experience. A safe and inviting place for gentlemen to come and get cleaned up to look and feel their best. It’s the male equivalent of a high end hair salon for women, at a FRACTION of the salon cost. 10/10

From the moment you walk in, it is quite an experience! The staff are always professional, fun, and inviting. You can grab a drink, watch sports/news on one of their many TVs, and get to meet new people! I have been going since December 2019 and plan to keep visiting. I dont leave reviews really but I gotta say, really consider TGP in San Antonio, it is an awesome choice.

Ive been a member at this location since it first opened. The experience (and it is an experience) is incredible. Ive not found a place like it anywhere. In fact, I drive halfway across the metropolitan area just to get my haircut there.Hannah manages a great operation there, and is always a delight. Ive tried most all of their services and several different stylists. Each time I go, the service is consistent, prompt, friendly, and relaxing.Best mens grooming salon, bar none.

Not your typical neighborhood barber shop. This is were artists and professionals go and perform at their peek performance.Nice upscale shop where gentlemen get groomed. Got my haircut yesterday and they rocked it with service and experience and explaining everything about the place the gentleman behind the counter was very awesome, came the next day for a beard trim and was treated beyond belief, I ended showing up late and was expecting to have to reschedule. Ive read about the great reviews in regards to the Gents place, and read up about how everyone greets you, and the staff gives first-timers the grand tour of the facility, youre offered drinks on the house, and occasionally, given complimentary services for the first time. This sounds like the best pampering a man can get! I was so impressed that I registered online as a new member and booked my first 4/1/2021 appointment. Upon my arrival, Andres greeted and welcomed me and offered me a drink (nice fellow). He commenced giving me the grand tour of the front but was interrupted to take care of a customer (this was not a problem). I waited by the shoeshine area a girl (worker) walked around a few times and she finally asked me if I was okay. I told her this was my first time here and I was waiting for a tour of the rest of the place. She said, Ill give you the tour. She was about to do this when the stylist walked up and was ready to cut my hair. I stated in front of the stylist and the girl, okay, and said I was going to get a tour. The girl didnt say anything further and I walked to the back to get my haircut. During my haircut, I witnessed one of the staff members giving a tour to a gentleman and they walked past me, and the girl showed him the spa area and was explaining things about the areas of the place. I ended up purchasing the Rascal conditioner, shampoo, and grooming cream ($155.00+ with haircut plus tips). Damaris did a superb job shining my shoes. However, I was very disappointed as to why I was not given this first-time tour as it is endorsed on the postings. Its apparent that not every customer is treated the same. My high expectations/experience that Ive read and anticipated went out the door. At this time, I will not be returning.

Unfortunately our experience here was bad. The stylist did the polar opposite of what we wanted and then when I explained to the manager she was condescending and unpleasant. A simple apology and a ‘hey, it happens sometimes ’ would have sufficed, but instead she told me it was essentially the stylists word against ours. Do yourself a favor and find a good Aveda salon instead.

It was my first and last nite at this salon. I live at The Dominion so thought I would check it out. I walked in with big expectations and left disappointed and angry. My treatment was a haircut and color. Haircut was fine. The colorist (actually it was clear she had no experience in coloring because she kept asking the woman who cut my what/how to color my hair. We all agree the semi permanent color would turn my white temples into a soft gray and I did not want dark black shoe polish color. Well that’s exactly what I got. The stylist- “colorist” used the wrong shade, left in way too long. Once the towel was lifted from my hair, I was in shock. I now have black shoe polish area which looks un natural and so bad. Before I said one word about the botched color, the stylist said it would be on the house - no charge. She knew how bad my hair looked I spent all weekend trying to shampoo the black shoe polish from my hair. I’ve told my male friends at the Dominion to never patronize the place. It was a terrible experience- amateur hour. I have to wear a baseball cap for the time being. Gents Place- major fail

Service is good... they are more than happy to help spend your money with them but if you ever have to cancel your account they make you jump through hoops. (Even when moving) Not cool. Hannah told me to call back and let them know when I was moving to see if I could squeeze in another cut before moving. I was told I couldn’t because my services were set for ever 4 weeks... simple swipe of the CC could have fixed that... Anyways I was told to call and they would take care of it, I did and I was blow off and told to go online... there is no link from their website to cancel your services.... I finally googled it and then it popped up. Very frustrating.After Covid started and they shut down, when I first came back in, I was told I was “awarded” a $150 dollar credit because I never cancelled my account through the pandemic. In truth, I wasn’t “awarded” anything but in fact was “awarded” a credit for money I had been paying them the whole time... deceptive as all get out.They then reached back out, I called back later and gave 16 minutes of feedback... now I am being emailed and reviews written about me saying that I never contacted them back... very very frustrated!

Top notch, excellent experience! I typically go to the Frisco TX location, but I scheduled an upkeep in San Antonio because I was in town for my wedding.For those unfamiliar with Gents Place, they offer an option to become a member by paying monthly or up front annually. If you are a member, you can schedule haircuts and upkeeps at any Gents Place. Its very convenient if you have a big event and you want to look extra fresh the day of.The entire staff was friendly and professional. When I told them I was there on my wedding day, they gave me the royal treatment! I went in just for an upkeep and they threw in a rejuvenating parafin hand dip and a face refresher.Everything felt great! I went in a little bit tired and stressed with such a big day ahead of me. I felt amazing after stopping in (also I had two Irish Coffees, so I suppose that helped too). This visit definitely set the mood right for my wedding day. It went Great!I am originally from San Antonio, so next time I visit, I will be sure to stop by again.

The Gents Place (Dominion)I visited for the first time since they reopened and I must say that they are doing everything right. I felt comfortable and safe during my entire appointment. They have been able to create a safe and comfortable environment so that it’s members can enjoy the experience that they are use to. This company LIES and DECEIVES customers. I called their general number to get information on their COVID procedures. They told me their waiting area is closed, everything inside is spaced out to ensure social distancing and masks are mandatory for both employees and customers. All of this was FAKE information.I show up for my appointment and see several customers without a mask on inside the establishment (the waiting area was open, NOT closed). Some of the customers did NOT even have a drink (so theres no excuse to not wear the mask). Customers are not social distanced, chairs are right next to each other in the bar and waiting area.I was waiting outside and what made me leave was the following. A customer walked into the establishment WITHOUT a mask on, walked around inside. The employees did not care, they didnt ask him to put it on.So if some customers can just walk around whenever and wherever they want without a mask on, then why should some of us be wearing them at all?I left and they gave me a call. I told them on the phone all this information and the employee basically said sorry, too bad and we do tell our customers to wear a mask when they enter. I called her out on her FALSE response and told her customers had walked in without a mask and no one told them anything.So if youre looking for a place that dosent enforce or require masks and wanna have a great time with a drink or 2, a haircut, a massage. No mask on. This is the place for you!

Second to none in service and quality control for the product and value the Gents team offers to their customers. The epitome of all above is Chris Martinez...a hair specialist, subject matter expert, who sincerely listens to his clients to ensure the outcome is more than pleasing. Chris is a well rounded team member who can converse on many topics but knows when to provide a pleasant silence to boot. The owners are hands on...so much, you are sure to see Jack or his wife behind the bar serving up some of the finest spirits in town. Weather getting a haircut, boot shine, scalp massage, or partaking in some of the fine cigars and spirits available...Gents is an excellent location to decompress before going home.

This was a very pleasant surprise as the entire experience was very enjoyable and well worth full price, but their generosity showed their customer service and attention to detail was extraordinary in this regard. Great Environment, friendly staff and decent Liquor selection. Haircut was good and everything was very comfortable. Price is a little high but the membership plans sounds good. Traffic and 1604 is an issue but if you make it there its worth it.

This was an excellent experience. I really enjoyed the haircut itself, in addition to the atmosphere. I have never had a pleasant shampoo and conditioning experience in the past, as it always felt like my neck was about to break and my face would just be unintentionally be splashed with water. Your electronic chair/neck adjustments, in addition to the calming room where the shampoo and conditioning is done, are phenomenal. This, coupled with the warm face towel is not only relaxing but revitalizing as well.My only criticism I can really say is that I wasn’t thrilled at having products forced on me at the end of my experience (the shampoo and conditioner.) Rather, something along the lines of “these are our products, feel free to take a look,” etc. would be a much more care-free/inviting approach, rather than basically saying “buy this” and putting them on the sales counter for me. I don’t want to go to an establishment such as this and have it feel like a business, but rather a place to relax and enjoy myself. Also, I never received a tour of the premises. Overall, I was still highly satisfied with the experience and am now debating getting a membership.

Awesome place to break away from the norm and embrace an old fashion shave. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very polite. I do like how it feels like a place you can go and relax before and after the service is completed. I recommend every man give it a shot. You will not regret it!!

Her massage instantly puts you in a state of zen!After my massage, I went back up to pay for my services & was told it was on the house! Jack & Cecilia were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They have created an inviting & relaxing atmosphere that is unrivaled.
