Was looking for a place to get a haircut and was told to go to Melinda at Smart Style Salon. I’m very picky with who touches my hair and definitely went to the perfect place with the perfect hair stylist. Melinda was very friendly, very professional and did a really great job with my haircut. Made me feel like I have been a long time client. You can definitely trust Melinda to get you the results you want. I recommend her 200%.

I needed a salon that is open on Sundays and offers affordable prices. I did a lot of research and saw that Melinda had great reviews which is what prompted me to come in. I did not set an appointment, it was a Sunday, and I walked in a few minutes after they opened. Melinda already had a color client, but said she could take me for highlights and color right after. I asked what she could do with my hair, and we quickly developed a plan for it. I could tell by the way she spoke, that she was knowledgeable, experienced, and confident in her ability to get me the results I wanted. As a first time client it put me at ease, and I felt that I could trust her. She stayed focused, worked quickly, and did a good job handling multiple clients by herself. Her application and technique were flawless, comparable to what I have seen at high end salons. The end results really show that shes a seasoned professional who knows what shes doing. I was very impressed, and will be back in the future. You can definitely trust Melinda to get you the results you want.

I haven’t had a haircut in 6yrs. I saw reviews about SmartStyle and decided to check it out. Sure enough I was helped by Melinda who was the only stylist at that moment who btw… had a client and expecting another client right after. She was able to accommodate me as soon she could. She was very friendly, very professional and did a really great job with my haircut. Made me feel like I have been a long time client. I definitely will be returning for my haircuts there. Smartstyle on Potranco inside Walmart has an awesome stylist working there name Melinda…she makes you feel welcome and does and excellent super job . I went to this SmartStyle because I needed a quick trim before I went on vacation and my daughter just needed her pixie cut cleaned up. BAD IDEA!!!! My hair is so uneven I was asked if I let my 10 year old cut my hair! One side is at least 3 inches shorter than the other and my bangs look like a blind person cute them. My daughters pixie cut is also screwed up. I didnt have time before vacation to do anything about it so we both ended up wearing a hat the entire time. The lady had a fan around her neck that I am guessing was blowing our hair around. When I got home I looked at my account and saw I had paid $60 for the worst haircuts you could imagine and I am wondering why it was so much, she didnt wash either of our hair and all she did was (very unevenly) trim my hair and missed half of my daughters head. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

My son got his haircut here for the first time and the lady who did his hair did a great job! Would definitely come back when my son needs another cut :)

Grace is awesome with my 5 year old. She is patient with the wiggles and actually carries on a conversation with him. We’ve been there about 3 times and will be solely returning for Grace.

Great service. My daughter was set on getting her big new haircut and color but our appointment was cancelled by a hair joint I wont name. We went by just hopeing they could fit us in for a cut but we got the style and color with no appointment and they were not without customers. Stylist cut her lunch short to accomodate. This is simply the worst salon Ive ever been to! I completely agree with Ann. The woman that cut my husbands hair was awful. She straight out said I dont know how to edgeup. I said ok.... Just even it up. She didnt even understand that. Then she started free cutting without even trying to make it even, and to top it off she cut him! Thats when I had to say something.*Edit * I see someone responded. The pics were taken AFTER leaving your salon at the Culebra Rd location. Feel free to confirm with the Corporate office. The stylist Electra did a nice job correcting it although in order to do so it had to be shortned significantly! I filed a complaint with them. I also gave them my number if you needed to speak with me in regards to the complaint.

I decided to get a curl perm today. I was very nervous about it at first but the women who made sure I was very comfortable and answered all questions was just amazing. I’m super picky on my hair and loved the work she did. Ask for Melinda Ortiz she’s absolutely amazing. I love my results.

By far the best salon experience Ive ever had.My hair was a dry, dull green color after getting my hair colored at another salon, but Anna Ojeda managed to fix it up and make it not only look, but feel silky and lovely! She did an amazing job on my hair. I absolutely love the new style and how she took the time to explain what she was doing and why. I brought my daughter to Smart Style with Gabby and she transformed my daughter’s hair. My daughter’s hair got damaged with hard water, heavy sunlight and chlorine from the pool. I had tried many products, but they didn’t work. She trimmed her hair from split ends, deep condition and added fantastic products that left my daughter’s hair looking healthy and silky. I will be returning!

Wont cut a little kids hair unless they sit on their own. Which would be fine but who knows if my little one will stay sitting still there entire time. And no they cant sit in your lap! What happen to customer service.

I had a great time getting my hair done. Vevonica did my hair three tones cut my hair it came out great I can change up the way my hair lays for a different look every day,

I went in two days ago at 3:30 and asked for a cut/color and low lights, I was asked to wait. The only girl in the salon finishing with her customer was Lauren. She asked me what I wanted and I showed her to pictures, one of a similar color that I wanted as well as a picture of the layers Id like to get. She stated that they were closing at 6:00 pm today and we couldnt finish it all, and I agreed that was fine. She started bleaching my hair to add in the color (I asked for red) while doing so, I told her it was burning, she just asked me to tell her if I couldnt handle it. So after about an hour and a half of just bleaching the color from my hair, which she had to ask another man questions far too often while doing, it was finally light enough. She took about another 30 minutes to apply the toner, then started drying my hair. After it was dry I said I needed to use the restroom, she then decided to ask if I wanted to do the color then or wait the next day. Considering it was already 6:00pm I agreed to come back in at 9:00 am the next day. When I came back in the following day we started immediately on the color, again while doing so I said it was burning since I had bleach on it for almost 2 hours the day before, and again I got the same response let me know if you cant deal with it. But nothing was done. Then she puts me under the dryer for 20 minutes, basically baking the chemicals into my head. I decided to just deal with it, once we had it all washed out and everything we started on the cut. I showed her the picture of the style Id like again and she asked if I wanted length off, I said yes I wanted the split ends trimmed (my split ends are quite terrible about 2 worth) she started trimming as well as shaping my face. In the end she only took off about an inch of my hair as well as giving me god awful side bangs. I thought for sure she was going to just finish the layers, instead she started drying my hair all the while pulling my already sore scalp, as well as burning me with the hair dryer. I flinched a few times and said she was doing so, still nothing was changed in what she was doing. Once she was finished I was up out of the chair as fast as possible. I was incredibly unhappy, sore scalp and all. The only correct thing she did was the color, and even that was an issue. I will not be returning here nor would I mention it to anyone for a reference.

They did a Excellent job on both my Boys, and I cannot Believe how Fast they were, other places have taken at least an hour or so. We were in and out! EXCELLENT!!

Honestly worst experience ever. My 12 year old daughter got her haircut, washed, and dried. They charged $35 dollars without the tip. It’s absolutely outrageous considering she only cut 1/2 an inch off, burnt my daughters head with the blow dryer, and washed her hair for about a minute. Worst experience ever, we will never go to this place again!

Yesterday I came and wanted my hair with pink ombré well I didn’t get it and went back and talked with Ana and she took pictures of my hair before I showed her the picture what I wanted as I did the day before and was not happy with well Ana fixed my color and did exactly what I wanted but not happy with the lady that did it on Monday she had the nerve when she came in today to get in my face cause I didn’t like what was done when she already told Ana she didn’t think I was happy with the job I would love to talk to the owner it was very rude and unacceptable for their stylist to get in my face like she did I will only use Ana but I almost de used not to come back there due to the unprofessional service I got on Monday and her getting in my face today.

Whatever you do do not let Anita cut your hair! She Did not have a clue of what she was doing. Could not pull off a Bob haircut. I had to go back 2 days later and tried to have the manager remedy the damage but it was far too short to do anything about it. I did get a full refund but my hair can not be pasted back! As for the reply from the manager, I understand damage control you may have other QUALIFIED stylists however they were not there when I went, there were only 2 hairdressers there and they both looked like they had been out of cosmetology school for a couple of weeks. Its only fair that I let others know how inexperienced your staff is so that they dont have to go through the anguish I did. As far as going back is concerned, if this happened to you would you go back? Not on your life!

I payed $121 for a hair color that I didn’t ask for.... I asked for a pink/maroon color and I walked out with red. I would’ve been fine w it if I didn’t have to pay so much for a color I didn’t ask for... so yeah not going back...

Ive been several times because its convenient living across the street. Every time I go its the same only one person getting a haircut and only one person cutting hair.. I always assume since no one else is waiting its not going to take so long but its always at least a 40 minute wait..
