Took my vehicle in for a diagnostic. They told me the problem gave me different prices for parts and how much labor would be. They had it up and running by the next day and the part had a warranty! Great service and very professional! I would definitely reccomend this repair shop!

Ive worked as a mechanic for the past 12 years and just recently changed my line of work. since I no longer had a shop to work on my projects I figured I give them a shot, I already had diagnosed the issue a simple wheel bearing and seal easy job. I called and said exactly what I needed done and got a quote kinda on the high side but then again the lady was saying I needed the whole hub assembly (which I didnt, just bearing and seal) 1 and a half hours after I dropped it off I got a call from them saying my brakes and rotor were bad and that is the issue, I told them no the rotors are literally brand new I just changed them. I was told they wont touch the car if I didnt buy the parts and I would have to go pick it up and pay a $90 fee just for looking at it. I had no other choice but to go buy the parts, definitely wasnt going to buy it from them and let them scam me.. A few hours later I get a call asking wheres the key to my rim... these people never even looked at my car!!! I knew it they just wanted me to buy parts from them! I told them were the key was and just as I suspected they called me back and stated my axle was no good, I went down there and told the mechanic to show me, I look at the axle and through my professional opinion it was in perfect condition, I asked why he said its no good and the mechanic says look the bearing and seal are falling apart! I told him yes I know thats why Im here Ive been telling yall this is all I need done not brakes, rotors, or diagnostic. Then I was told again if I dont buy the part they will not touch the car and I would have to pay the $90 fee, the labor for him to open it up, and I must call a tow truck... now get this, Im tired of these games and just feeling taken advantage of and stuck so I asked how long will it be if I just buy the part from them and the mechanic stated he would have to take the parts to a different shop so they can press the bearing onto the axle.. THESE PEOPLE NEVER EVEN HAD THE MEANS TO TAKE ON THIS JOB!! Needless to say I took my axle, bought the parts at autozone, pressed the bearing on myself, then brought it back just so he can put it back together and was still charged more then the original quote for them to do the job plus parts even though I bought all the parts and did all the work myself. I basically just paid to used their lift. Very crooked practices in my opinion, very surprising since all the comments on this place sounded good. Im not saying dont go to them but just be ready to buy a tone of unneeded parts while they hold your car hostage.

My engine light turned on after I put power steering fluid. Couldnt figure out the issue, so a friend referred me to Jims Loop Auto Repair. Im glad he did! The receptionist, Donna, is a wonderful listener. I felt like she genuinely cared about my concerns and asked clarifying questions to make sure I was taken care of. They changed my thermostat promptly at an affordable price. Thank you!

ISSUE: Emergency... check engine light flashing, was 20 miles from my house. Parked at Shell/McDonalds parking lot off Roosevelt Ave.SEARCH: Did my google search called several mechanic mobile and shops and Jims was open at 8 am. Read the reviews and well had no choice due to my issues and went with them.AREA: Very impressive, its not a fancy place, but its a good old fashion auto repair place with 20 years experience. The waiting room is smal but very comfy, TV, drinks.. The was has alot of history of the shop, alot of awards of the tech certifiaction in everything in a car. Was very impressed. Area very clean.SERVICE: Donna is VERY friendly and writes every details that you mention to her of the issue. They keep you informed of the status of the work. Issue is explained to you before any repairs.TRUCK PROBLEM: water was found in the spark plugs, manifold and gasket bad.RESULTS: I review/search the parts of the cost and this place is lagit/correct, they are good in the cost and the labor as well. Repairs: Manifold & gasket, all spark plugs, 1 coil (instrad of 3), since it was all off, they also replaced the temp sensor/gasket so I would not return again should it goes out & save me time/labor/cost on parts, might as well get it done while there replacing manifold. I was very impressed of the job that was done on my 2007, F150 with 220k miles. It runs better than it has ever had.OUTCOME: They offer me a 1 yr warranty on parts/labor that it self is another reason this will be my new repair shop in my truck. Mechanic show alot of experience and fast repairs. I HIGHLY recommend this place for repairs on your car/truck. They are only open wkdays 8-5.

By far the best auto shop Ive ever had the pleasure to deal with. The job gets done right, and theyre careful to let you know what parts and labor will cost if you need major work (before they start). Staff is friendly, courteous, I cant say enough good things.I recently moved out of state, and my experiences with shops here in KY have made me miss Loop even more. Truck has been in 4 shops up here, and even though I finally found one I can vouch for, I got ripped off 3 times in the process.If you need work done, dont waste your time and money elsewhere, this is one of those rare shops you can trust to take care of you right.

Trusting and always puts you first rather than sticking it to you like some other shops do.

I came to Loop on a recommendation about 6 years ago and I highly recommend this auto repair shop. They are a down to earth, reasonably priced and highly accurate on their evaluations and repairs, they are a family run bussiness. I suggest you call ahead because sometimes you have to make an appointment. They are open from 8 am to 5 pm.
