My 12 year old loved her Discovery flight experience! The instructor was very patient and easy to understand.

Great flight school and flying club, located at Port San Antonio - where you can see a cool variety of military and civilian traffic. This is a great place to learn to interact with Air Traffic Control in an excellent learning environment.

First impressions are everything. Unfortunately my first experience with Bario aviation was not a good one. I had an appointment at 2pm to discuss their program and receiving my PPL. Showed up at 2pm and was told the instructor was currently flying and will be landing shortly. I didnt mind waiting since things happen and plus I was genuinely excited. After an hour of waiting he shows up and walks into the office and ask who was all in his office (it was me and another customer that walked in) I introduced myself and half started to explain why I was there until he received a phone call on his cell phone and he gave me the finger so he could answer...☝🏻...he answered the phone and walked outside the office door. As he was getting off the phone the other customer happened to be walking out and got in conversation with him. They then proceeded to leave the area after about 15 mins I realized having an appointment didnt mean much. I told the receptionist that I will just come back at a later time, clearly he is busy. The receptionist asked me to just wait and she will talk with the instructor, she came back and told me to wait about 10 mins for him to wrap things up. At that point it was obvious on how they view their priorities I was clearly not one of them. 🤷🏻‍♂️I get it that people get side tracked but this was just horrible time management and customer service. Preception is everything and it definitely made me feel that his focus was on the gentleman that was interested in a rating upgrade that his company was going to pay for. Which makes sense from a business standpoint.As for me, customer service is very Paramount especially as a business owner.Only reason for the 2 stars was because the receptionist was very friendly and tried to apologise for his blatantly poor situational awareness.

Came here to finish what I started 16 years ago - my private pilot license (PPL). They definitely have a variety of CFIs to choose from if one doesnt fit your personality/learning style. Their prices are a little higher than others, but I honestly believe they train you to be a pilot (not to simply pass the checkride at the end).Ive begun training for my subsequent ratings at another school simply because they accept VA payments. Otherwise, I wouldve stayed here. Any instructor Ive come across is impressed with the level of scrutiny I hold myself to and the level of accuracy of my flying capability and I attribute this to my instructor from this school.Definitely recommend this school for anyone - beginner or higher level.P.S. theyre also set up in an environment that forces you to talk to ATC on the regular, so youll get over those fears ASAP! Youll also get to experience maneuvering through 3 different airspaces almost every time you fly. You definitely get the experience you need from here!
