The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. About the only problem is They don’t have a lot of free weights. Lots and lots of cardio and some weight machines. Overall not bad.

Very clean, equipment in good condition, and staff were helpful and friendly. Locker room is well-maintained and cleaning stations throughout facility. Im a black card member so I used the hydro-massage table, absolutely wonderful!

Let me preface by saying I’ve been a loyal Black Card member for years and despite the massive inconvenience I’ve been dealing with, I was still a loyal member looking forward to using the gym again. After calling and asking for help, my mind changed. Rhiannon, a manager at this location, is solely responsible for PF losing my business. Months ago I changed banks and updated my card info online. For some reason, the update was unsuccessful and PF continued to charge my old card, which was canceled. I received ZERO communication about my payment declining, and because I was in the middle of moving and getting married, I did not notice the charges weren’t coming out of my new bank account. After three months, when I finally had time to start my gym routine again, I found out Planet Fitness canceled my membership for non-payment and charged multiple late fees in addition to my regular monthly bill. This is understandable, but if I had been given any kind of notice that my card declined to begin with, I’d have resolved it then and there. I called this club because apparently you can only be helped with account issues by the one you started at. Rhiannon answered the call and informed that PF doesn’t notify of missed payment over email (even though they use email for EVERYTHING ELSE) and that they had texted and called twice to let me know. When I explained that I truly never got anything or I would have fixed the issue, her response was basically “not my problem”. This process of paying my bill has been an absolute nightmare. I’ve been told that the only way I can even pay the bill now is to PHYSICALLY pay IN the San Angelo club, or send a money order through the mail. No online or over the phone option despite the fact that I now live 4 hours away. Mrs Manager absolutely made my mind up for me about whether it’s worth it to stay with PF after all. No communication for loyal customers who WANT to pay and have ALWAYS paid on time? No effort in keeping a long-time customer who has been massively inconvenienced by your system? Big difference between being a manager and being a brat with a badge.

All Planet Fitness clubs vary in size and shape, but this one is pretty nice overall. Enjoy!

Not a local, a frequent flyer. Have not been to this location since 2019, mostly stay around Houston and LA areas but often visit the PF if there is one around. This morning I was blown away walking back into Angelo’s PF with the cleanliness, updated equipment, safe environment, and friendliness of the staff at this location. The luxury at this location is above and beyond many of the franchise, and the care of the facility is evident. My dude @ the front was so helpful and polite. Really looking forward to working out here again and my trips in the future!

Planet fitness in San Angelo is awesome staff is great..the only complaint I’ll throw at it is they need to up their game up with the equipment..get more dumbbells get some heavier free weights…

The employee i spoke to DIRECTLY was named Miguel, and as far as im aware, he is unfortunetly still employed at this planet fitness location, even after seeing multiple bad reviews stating his name directly! If you are in the San Angelo area, and are looking for a gym, Im sorry to say, but Plant Fitness is the WORST gym in San Angelo. The pricing heavily reflects the customer service, as well as equipment. Simply canceling your membership is a FEAT alone! You arent able to cancel online, or even on the app. You have to go in the gym in order to cancel your membership, and that only if the workers actually cancel the membership. I canceled mine, and they are still taking money out of my account! THIS GYM IS ROBBING PEOPLE! Im getting the bank involved now, in order to recoup the money they STOLE! Even the manager there is utterly useless, stating that i dont have proof i canceled my membership, even though i stated specifically who i spoke to, told them about the documents i signed, and still to no avail! If you are interested in getting a membership at this subpar gym, please give me your money instead, ill put it to MUCH better use! Worst gym, worst staff, and worst equipment.

This place is clean and staff is friendly! My ONLY complaint is the last couple visit, my husband tried to get to the weight equipment and there’s small groups either improperly using or just congregating around the equipment. I really wish the staff could break it up if it isn’t going to be used properly or at all. Aside from that, it is a great gym especially for cardio!

They are not 24 hours like the website says. This location closes early every day even after other gyms are open 24/7 with COVID regulations. I would not go to this one if that’s something you’re looking for. And there have been times when we were kicked out due to bad quality of water even though they sell water bottles. And this location has also been closed for weeks in row several times this year. Seriously it’s not worth the money every month.

I love this gym. Everyone is always super friendly when I walk in and I always see them doing their part to keep everything safe and sanitized. The only thing I wish is that it didnt have to temporarily close so often due to maintenance issues. I understand we recently had a horrible storm but it doesnt make sense to me how many other gyms in town are open (including the ones down the street) and Planet Fitness isnt. Very rarely are customers updated on the status of the gym reopening. While I dont plan on cancelling membership because of these reasons, it would be nice to remain updated on a consistent basis.

I would give this place a new name; Planet Sickness! I sent an email in May as I was directed by employees, to end my membership. My request was not honored. They continued to take Club Membership Dues from my checking account. I went to the Planet Sickness location in San Angelo today to end my membership in person, risking COVID 19. The person at the front desk assisting me, Miguel, was not wearing his mask properly exposing his nose and mouth. The service and safety at this location is below standard. I hope this location is shutdown to protect the health and safety of all San Angeloans! Zero Stars!!!

Gym is very clean and workers are seen cleaning equipment at various times of day. This gym just acquired stair steppers and rowing machines which I love! Hours are very convenient!

The staff is friendly. The gym is clean, but thats about it. This is the least equipment diverse PF Ive ever been to. They are missing a lot of essentials like a pull up bar and their weights only go to 60 lbs. But that isnt the most maddening issue, its that they decide to close with no communication as when they will reopen. The area was recently hit with a winter storm, but the excuse for being closed due to inclement weather is several days over. Ive reached out to ask why they are still closed, to no avail. This wasnt even communicated to the members in any format except on the website. Additionally, if you claim to be following COVID guidelines and state on signs and equipment that you enforce mask policy, why do half the people here not abide?EDIT- Added a star for the management getting back to me and communicating about their situation. I maintain my views on equipment variety and COVID rule enforcement.

Ive been to at least 10 different planet fitness facilities in San Antonio, Kentucky, and New Jersey and this one is by far the worst. Its not open 24 hours and the 2 massage beds are always out of order. Other planet fitness have TVs on the treadmills, more machine variety and sometimes with less space.

I used o workout Dalhart Tx but now in San Angelo Planet Fitness lets me continue were I left off!!🤙🤙

I thought everyone has to wear masks. The gym was at peak time when I went. Maybe 3 people were wearing them. I understand it not being enforced while working out but people are walking around gym without masks like we arent in a pandemic 😬😱😱

I called over a year ago to cancel my membership. The girl I talked to on the phone said not a problem she would handle. Now over a year later still trying to charge me and the new manager was totally rude. She said theres no one over her period. There is number to o call and she wouldnt give it to me. So be careful with who you talk to.

I cancelled my membership in MAY and I’m still getting charged! In fact within the last three weeks I’ve been charged around $60 dollars in membership fees AFTER cancelling. I’ve called several times and I get told to email because I shouldn’t be getting charged after I cancelled and no one answers. I’ve called and either get told their system is down or there is not a manager around. Really?? I would expect during a pandemic where people are needing these things cancelled to save money managements would do better at making sure their former customers aren’t charge fees AFTER cancelling their membership MONTHS AGO!! Will not ever be recommending planet fitness in San Angelo again.

Staff is excellent and gym was always clean. The people that go here are in incredibly good shape for a starter gym and the price is unbeatable.

Gallon jugs or no gallon jugs? In the last few days, while at PF, noticed 4 males entering PF carrying water jugs at different days/times, two were smaller fellas and 2 were larger muscle bound dudes. On both separate occasions, the 2 smaller guys were stopped at the desk and told that gal jugs were not allowed in PF. Each of them had to leave the jugs at the door. At different days/times, 2 bigger guys also entered PF toting gal jugs in plain site. Each were allowed to enter, as well as their hefty containers! If PF is gonna have this “gal jug” policy, maybe keep it consistent! Don’t care one way or the other. I travel lite!!! Good gym though!!!!

This planet fitness is ok it has lots of space and has a nice flow but the equipment is outdated. Also, most places are back to 24hours the least this on could do is stay open till midnight if your not going to be 24hours

They stay closed a lot for any reason not dependable at all dont waste your money find a gym that cares for the patrons that depend on them being open.

I love my gym! It is always clean and always somebody to help you out if you need anything. The environment is truly what makes me keep going. It feels like we are all on the same team shooting for the same goals. Always someone to lend a hand or give you a word of encouragement. I wouldnt trade my gym for anything.

Plenty of room, equipment that works, friendly staff, and CLEAN!

I love that my son can come with me. He is 13 years old and my best friend. We do everything together. He plays football for his school, so likes to stay active. He couldnt wait for his birthday last week because he was finally able to join me. He is my motivation, and having him at pf just makes me that much more comfortable and confident.

Worst planet fitness world wide! Ive never had so much trouble getting a hold of another gym as much as i do this one. They never answer their phones and i had one of their members at my gym telling me he can never get ahold of them so i tried and he was absolutely right it rings then ends up to voice mail every time..but its all good because we will be getting corporate to investigate more into this

This PF (San Angelo) was a great gym until they decided to close the doors for 7 days and going.. Supposedly an air conditioner problem, but really? It could have been fixed by now. The owners obviously have no care for their members, or else they would’ve worked the problem out by now.

Clean, quiet. Miss the 24/7 access.

Price, tanning, hydro massage beds & space in the gym are all a big bonus. All the equipment needed is there. Locker rooms are always kept clean & the staff is always nice. I do feel like many others would agree with me for the need of fans in the locker rooms for us ladies who all get ready there in the mornings due to it being excessively warm & humid from showers & blow dryers. There are a lot of women who get ready daily there but are sweating while doing so which isn’t very pleasurable or efficient while applying make up or styling hair for work.

I love our PF! It is always clean and bright! The staff are great too! I visited another PF in another town and it did not compare in any way! Our San Angelo PF is awesome!

I first and foremost enjoy planet fitness due to the friendly nature of the staff. They are always so attentive and nice when I visit the gym. The fact that everyone can find fun in working out there is also wonderful, because if youre like me, you dont like working out in front of people for fear of judgement. I have zero feelings like that at PF. Ive been a member for 2 years now, and will continue to enjoy time there!**The ONLY downside is that there closed unexpected for a couple of weeks, and did not accommodate members in any form other than a corporate email inviting me to drive to midland or abilene, which I cannot and would not do. However, this is corporate, not our local employees, therefore I still have nothing but good things to say bout SAN ANGELO gym**

I love that almost everything is purple :-). Aside from that. I love the environment, and how they have plenty of treadmills. The 30min quick area is a bonus. I enjoy receiving the text for exercise tips and encouragement.I would like if they offered Zumba, Yoga or some sort of class, but other than that its a great place to work out.

This facility is totally judgement free! Body shames are not allowed here and everyone is free to do their best and what their body can handle! The staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful to newbies like me!

I love the fact that no matter what time I show up, there are always treadmills and other machines available for me to use. I go right after work at 5 and its usually packed, but I dont feel out of place and can do my workout without feeling judged. Its a very friendly and calm environment!

Planet fitness has a great staff always willing to help and answer any questions. All of the equipment is functional and very well kept. And to top it off, the facility is always clean. It’s a very welcoming environment.

I called to cancel my membership and the girl at the front desk lied and said she canceled it. She also said she was talking to the manager when there is not a manager that works the weekends. They took over $100 from my account for no reason and after I already called to cancel it. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE. Go to another 24 hour gym. This place will lie and take your money.

I love the facilities. But when you advertise a dress code you need to enforce that dress code. I go to the gym 3 times a week and at least 2 of those visits I see girls wearing little to nothing but a sports bra. One time ther was someone only wearing a sports bra no cover up. The dress code is a huge reason I joined Planet Fitness. Please start enforcing the dress code!!!

Staff very friendly and willing to help with your workouts anyway they can. Facility and equipment are very clean and well maintained.

Good price along with lots of equipment. They may want to work on getting a wall dividers for treadmills and strength equipment. We don’t have a stairclimbers, hackmachines, lying leg press, or hip thrusting machines.

Planet Fitness offers a warm and encouraging atmosphere to attain your fitness goals for people of all shapes and sizes. It truly is a judgement free zone! Everyone is kind and uplifting including the patrons. A warm and respectful place to workout where the equipment and facility is always clean!

I like the size of the place. I dont feel closed in and crowded. It is easy to go in and do your own thing. I also like having the availability of tanning and massage beds under one roof. You just cant beat the monthly price for all the perks.

Like others I’m disappointed with the handling of the recent closure. Today I received an email recommending the Abilene and Odessa PF fitness centers as alternatives. Really San Angelo PF? The best you can offer is recommending paying customers drive 3-4 hours round trip to workout? Why not collaborate with a local gym to extend temporary memberships to PF customers while you’re fixing the issue (at PF’s expense)?Also, will we still be charged the monthly membership fees in December?UPDATE: PF has been closed for 2-weeks as of 12/04. Another local gym, Tru Fit, offered same membership pricing as PF. Tru Fit has MUCH MORE equipment options. I like it! !

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Hardly had time to use my membership so I decided to cancel. Go in and cancel and Im charged early cancellation fee. Cool, whatever. Theyve created a gym environment for people who want to feel good about going to a gym, but dont actually want to work out. Its clean, cool, and great if you dont already have a treadmill at home. Stangly, Ive been to Planet Fitness gyms all over the U.S. and this one is the only old lady version Ive come across.

Was told to leave after showing up to work out in a tank. Not sure how that is considered inappropriate gym attire. Mind you it was a crew neck with 2 inch straps cut halfway between the shoulder and elbow. Got a membership across the street. There seems to be inconsistency in applying the unwritten dress code as Ive worn the same shirt many times before without issue, and they had a staff member behind the counter off duty with a shirt cut lower than mine.

This gym is great for basic beginners for working out. They have a ton of cardio machines, a dedicated ab workout room, a dedicated 30 minute workout room, and a stretch area. Not a ton, but decent amount of machines in the middle. A small free weight area that is only 60lbs or less, a few cable machines, and a few free weight racks. They have a spa that has tanning and massaging. The gym is usually always clean, locker rooms are nice, showers for the most part were clean but they let it get away a few times. They lack classes, a pool, saunas, and anything over 60 lbs. It was a great gym for me for cardio but thats about it.

Wonderful time and clean. I usually hate working out but the friendly environment has grown on me. I look forward to going to the gym now.
