Undependable Company!!!My Dad was desperately in need of home care services in the nights/evenings for safety due to confusion/dementia. Set up an assessment/intake with this company. Spend days prepping my dad for the visit. The day of, at the exact time they are supposed to be there, they call to say they had an emergency and couldn’t come. I was annoyed but rescheduled for the next day. Again I have to prep my Dad for the visit which is huge deal because he doesn’t want to spend the money and thinks he is doing fine (he isn’t). Then…they never show up. Call the office after waiting an hour, first person I talk to has no information for me and just takes my message. An hour later I call again and get another person who tells me there is a note in the computer that they couldn’t come today and will come Monday at 3. No call to my dad or I, just rescheduled without even informing us as we sat around waiting for them. Awful! As if we would even trust them to provide dependable care now!
I’ve worked for Synergy HomeCare for about two years.I love how Synergy HomeCare goes above and beyond at making sure every client isn’t skipped over or forgotten. One of their policies is to make sure no client ever goes unseen. The staff in the office know how to provide care and even go out to do shifts when there’s a call out and all other options have been exhausted. I’ve worked for companies who left clients in bed when they had no caregivers to go do the visits, Synergy will send office staff. I can tell they care. The pay is also a good amount and competitive, I’ve been happy with my compensation. Scheduling is very flexible, you can be flexible with what times you need to work and taking time off for vacations.
When I first started working here I absolutely loved it. Most of my clients became close friends. When I started the staff was great as well they ALWAYS worked with me when problems hit the fan (Terrible car luck). Somewhere after awhile there was trouble with scheduling and miscommunication. The clients would hear one thing about why we were late when really it was the scheduling half the time. Getting done with someone at the same time youre supposed to be somewhere else. Luckily when that happened the people I was helping understood most of the time. My problems came from having to BEG scheduling and above for hours and after 3 weeks of no schedule finally I just had to find something else. Broke my heart. I loved what I did. Up until then, they were one of the BEST places to work. To this day Chris is still one of the top bosses Ive had.
I’ve worked for Synergy HomeCare for almost 5 years and have never had an issue. I love this company. The administrator Jadie, the owner Chris, and the client care coordinator Esmeralda have always been there for me in a professional and personal capacity. I’ve worked for seven home health agencies throughout Utah and Synergy is by far my favorite to work with.Almost all of the disgruntled former employees with reviews on here I have worked with. It’s disappointing that several former employees who were poor at their jobs and disciplined according to their job performance are choosing to use a public forum to inaccurately attack a wonderful home health agency.
Not going to lie I really miss working for synergy, they where awesome at giving hours but my hours dropped, but I do miss working for the company and wish I could go back
I interviewed for Synergy Homecare on December 29th 2020 with the HR director Kimberly. I was told that they were in desperate need of caregivers because a lot of employees were quitting. Most of the conversation was about the job and not about me or my experience. Kimberly explained that Synergy is non medical care, just a caregiving company. I told her that I do not have CNA experience and she said that was fine. I was hired in that interview and asked to start the next day. I signed a paper giving permission to do a background check but I was not notified that the background check went through before I started. After Kimberly said I was hired, I talked to the schedulers Isabella and Shantay. They said I would train for 4 hours the next day, and then the following morning I would be on my own. They assured me that they would not pair me with clients who need special training for those sessions I would be working by myself. The next day, December 30th 2020, I showed up at the clients house and met my trainer. I find out he has no CNA or caregiver experience and has been with the company two weeks. We went to two clients houses and he performed medical tasks like changing a catheter, using a hoyer lift, working a feeding tube, and digital stimulation. The clients were in pain, nervous and frustrated because my trainer did not know what he was doing very well and almost removed the wrong plug for the feeding tube on the second client. The first client told us some experiences about other caregivers from this company who caused him a lot of pain and distress recently.I got a text from Shantay the scheduler and we worked it out to where she said she scheduled me with clients who do not require special care. I looked at the clients information through the app for the clients I am going to by myself in the morning to find out I am expected to change a catheter and use a Hoyer lift as well as other medical duties by myself without thorough training. I called the company and quit that night. They apologized and offered more training, but there were too many red flags and unsafe practices going on that I didnt want to work for this company.
This place is AWFUL do not trust your loved ones with this company. Looking at the reviews and seeing the OWNER arguing with all of his past employees in the comments I wish I would have looked at reviews before I used them.
Synergy was our calm in the storm! Caring for a loved one can be stressful, but from the first phone call they handled everything and helped us to create a loving, peaceful environment. The staff is knowledgeable and treated my Grandma as their own. I would recommend them to anyone looking for home care services.
I have worked with many home health companies professionally. I’ve seen a range of service from exceptional, to poor, and everything in between. However, the disgustingly low service and professionalism a loved one of mine received from this company still shocked me when I heard about it. There are countless other companies that offer superior care, and are worth the money to avoid even contacting this place. Their rates are appealing, but ended up being fabricated so that positive is off of the table. I was present for multiple conversations my loved one had with those in the office and they clearly were not listening, and not updating the care plan accordingly. Their CNAs are learning bad behaviors that trickle down from the very top of this company. This company is a prime example of why people hesitate to trust this industry. I truly hope my loved one takes further actions, but this review serves as a way for those seeking a provider to make an informed decision.
Honestly if I could give this company 0 stars I would. This company is HORRIBLE. They do NOT care about their clients or having coverage for them. They have incompetent caregivers and blame the client when they don’t want a caregiver coming back to THEIR RESIDENCE.They do not have adequate staffing and refuse to do their jobs and hire people to be appropriately staffed, therefore leaving vulnerable elders and people with disabilities without care and to fend for themselves.Jadie absolutely does not care about the clients she takes on or if they have care or not even though SHE knows what hours need to be filled. She agrees to take on clients and leaves then without care.If you are looking for competent caregivers and company to take care of your loved one DO NOT GO THROUGH SYNERGY. Go with ANY company BUT them. They will screw you and your family members over without care. The BBB will be contacted and I hope they get shut down.
The aide they sent was excellent. The scheduling staff responds much quicker than other agencies, and the owner is an excellent communicator and flexible to work with.
We have worked with home health care for over 5 years. Unlike most, my son is not geriatric and requires significant care. We have been with this company for several months now and I have to say that they are the first company to truly look at our needs and try to fill the requirements. They are the only company in Utah that has actually filled our requirements and not told us that they just cant help us because they dont have the staff. They understand that 2 hours of care twice a day is a necessity and they do everything that they have to to fill that time slot. I highly recommend this company, especially for anyone who has the needs of a para or quadriplegic. It is very rare to find an office staff who actually cares about their patients.
I workedbthere it couldnt been worse they were not clean or care about patiants
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! Honestly this has been the worst experience of my life. They tell you when you first start they can give you up to 55 hours a week. They might even give them to you your first week then they will start having trouble giving you hours and you’ll end up with 0-20 hours a week. If they can’t pay you they will not answer your calls or texts. They will use any loophole necessary not to pay you! And if they want to fire you they will just take you off the schedule and ignore calls and texts not actually fire you so you can’t get unemployment benefits or pick up your last check. This company does not care about its patients or it’s employees. I’ve had multiple patients say they cannot stand this company because they can’t ever get ahold of them and when they do they don’t care about their concerns. If you want a GOOD homecare company do not choose this one. If you don’t take my word for it you will see for yourself.
Over the years I’ve been with many Home Health Care agencies and 2 Homecare agencies, including Synergy. For me the main thing that makes Synergy stand out the most is they’ve never left me without care, no matter the circumstances, they’ve always found someone to still come. I can’t say that about any other company I’ve ever been at.They have some of the best aides that treat you like you matter, and really care about what they do.and if you ever do end up with any concerns, you can call the office and talk to them about it and they always do there best to address the concern(s) as fast as possible. No matter where you go, there’ll be periods of ups and down, bumps in the road, that’s just the reality of life, something no one has any control over. However, Synergy always tries to keep those “bumps in the road” as few as possible. They know and understand sometimes things happen outside of your control and really try to work with you when this happens. Again, can’t say that about anywhere else I’ve been.
Great company to work for and or with. Management alone gets 5 stars. Chris Dobson (the owner/CEO) is very understanding and easy to communicate with.
Unlike what was said by the former employee, who frequently missed her shifts, called out last second, or was simply too stressed to show up. This company works with its clients to provide qualified caretakers. As a caretaker and not a CNA there are certain things your not allowed to do and synergy always explains that to the client. Schedules are regulated and given out with as much notice as possible, and the management is normally always attainable.
I started working at Synergy as a CNA and ended up in a management position eight months after I started as a CNA. As a CNA I really loved the ability to have a flexible schedule, especially as a college student. Chris is an amazing owner and Jadie is the most incredible and hands on administrator I have every met. They both care so much about their CNA/Caregivers and clients and will do anything they can for them.Working in management I was able to see how hard everyone works to provide the best care for the clients and the best working environment for every aid. They were very supportive of me when I decided I needed to leave the management position and go back to being a CNA, due to being a full time college student. Synergy is an incredible company and the best choice to help take care of you or a loved one. It is also an incredible place to work!
I cant say enough good things about Synergy or the owner, Chris Dobson. They really know what they are doing and take extra time to make sure people are getting the care they need. Wonderful service!
Worse company to work for!! You come to management about health concerns and they completely disregard your concern. This job is a CAREGIVING job and we were picking weeds for someone who we werent even caring for. Told management they disregarded that when finally you just have to up and quit you have the managers wife texting you literally days later harassing you. Sorry but no $12 an hour is worth me having health problems. I strongly suggest to not work with this company!
