They have not just been a martial arts studio. They have been inspiring, empowering, and utterly amazing for my child. He has only been there for three weeks and has more discipline, self respect and respect for others. The other children are also respectful and everyone is the best influence for my son. Their after school program is the best childcare program I have ever had my son in and I have tried over a dozen in seven years all over the city, none of them compare to this! I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone!
Joining World Martial Arts has been one of the best decisions we have made as a family. My kids always look forward to going and it has been a huge blessing to be able to stay active during Covid and the Winter months. We LOVE it. Even after a hard day at work, I feel rejuvenated when I go. The staff and instructors are kind, very skilled, and know how to work with kids and adults alike.
I attended classes here as a kid for a few years. The facility has had many upgrades over many years and it continues to grow. I learned some stuff here and the classes are good. But, it can be pretty expensive.
I have been going to this camp for the past 3 years and I have enjoyed it so far. Each year has been different and exciting. The Tae Kwon Doe classes are hard and the daily field trips are fun. Ive made quite a few friends thanks to the inclusive environment. However, I am a bit disappointed that we wont be going to the pool this summer. That was one of the things that made me want to come back this year. Splash-pads are fun, but Im sure they cant be any more sanitary than a pool.
This is such an amazing place!!! The Masters are very professional and personable with their students. My son loves going and walks around my house practicing everyday! I love it!!!
While the teachers are really good with the kids, I needed to cancel my membership and it was rough. I didn’t remember signing an agreement stating to cancel you have to pay for 3 more months, but I most likely did so that is on me. That is tough tho you know that’s a long time. The biggest thing for me is I was questioned heavily on the reasons why I needed to stop going. It was so uncomfortable 😿. A lot of questioning on my finances. I felt I was getting a guilt trip about taking my son out, it was just hard for me and I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I have a tough time confronting people sometimes so I didn’t end up saying much because I was so uncomfortable in the situation. It was hard! Based on that I don’t want to go back, it’s too much. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but this was tough on me 😿
I dont expand on my review originally, but nice try with the passive aggressive victimology Mr. Kwon. Yes, I was the director of your afterschool. No, my daughter did not attend for free you charged me for her attendance. And you did hire my wife and you forced her to quit. I left not to open my own school but because of the money I was owed and my disagreement with some of your business practices. I loved my job and was very good at it, but you forced us out for what we uncovered.
These guys are pure hype. The students are very ill educated. Belts are like candies, through which these guys gain $50 per student. Its not so much about the money for the belt testing more so about how fast they deem you ready for next belt. If you want your 9 year old to get a black belt sure make them go here, but if you expect them EARN that belt by teaching them the adequate skills then dont because this school doesnt teach, but only focus on getting money for itself. Why else is there a belt testing every month? And the staff is very rude and very unwilling to cooperate with you and your kids. The floors are dirty, the higher belts dont know how to tie their belts and the roof is always leaking liquid. If you want to learn martial arts, this is not the place.Experience: I had my kid going here until single red belt. Learned nothing and wasted a ton of time and money with this place
This will be the first summer camp my daughter will attend. Thus far I have been thoroughly impressed by the staff, facility and curriculum. Looking forward to many more positive things!!!!
My experience at this school was way awesome and Im thinking about returning one day in the future!
Master Kwon is a great leader and has put together a strong program. I have a teenage son. For the past few years, he has been attending tae kwon do a few times each week, which has helped teach him responsibility. Hes now a black belt and he feels proud that he finished something he started.
It was great, except the fact that the roof kept dripping stuff on me...
The staff are friendly. My 5 y/o did learn some discipline which was nice. The belt promotions seemed to be based more on attendance then on form. When I learned Tae kwon do is was about form. Failed many belt promotions due to missing one form (hand not turned properly, or foot in the wrong place) I do not approve of attendance or participation trophies. Also the school is slightly higher priced then other local schools and you have to commit to a full year. Next year the youngest and I will take Tae Kwon Do from a different school together. This other school has assured me their belt ceremonies are based on skill sets. If considering this school do some research before committing
“Positive Life Changes!” - the 3 words that describe my personal experience, the new Life Skills I am learning, and the training and interaction with Grand Master Kwon, Mrs. Kwon, and the Instructors and Staff at the Riverton school. This school is the Best! When you walk in, there is a positive atmosphere, the school is very clean, and Inviting, with a welcoming, caring staff to greet you.The presence of a family friendly environment is a BIG Plus, with positive training, growing, and developing of TaeKwonDo skills, qualities, and attributes. I have witnessed positive changes with students and families in my class. Showing improved responsibility, focus and discipline; and respect and courtesy -- even with the 4 to 6 year old “Little Dragons”.I never thought I would be able to do any type of martial arts, because of many past and present health issues I have at age 50 something. I thought TaeKwonDo was only about “punching & kicking.” Grand Master Kwon has shown me that this is not the case. Tae Kwon Do is a “Way of Life!”During the past 5 months that I have worked with Master Kwon, my overall HEALTH has improved greatly! (Ask my husband!) – I am more POSITIVE and HAPPIER. The FOCUS and DISCIPLINE I am learning helps me “STAY ON TASK,” and Focus on Priorities and Everyday Tasks -- it’s still a struggle at times, but I’m getting better at it. I am now more CONFIDENT with the knowledge and skills I have gained.Mr. Hawkins is an Excellent Manager, he listens, is patient with me and has counseled and helped me with my journey. His personal inspiring story helps me to “NEVER GIVE UP”. Instructor Wong is a Top-Notch, caring Instructor! When I’m struggling, she goes out of her way to help me during and after class, and also accommodates and works with me and my many health issues.Grand Master Kwon, Mrs. Kwon, and the Instructors I have worked with, believe, live, and teach the principles of TKD. Their example, knowledge, and intuitiveness, guide students to learn important Life Skills and technical concepts, in a fun, friendly environment. Is it challenging? Yes! Is it worth it? Absolutely! Highly Recommended!
My kid learns Taekwondo here and its a great school and an awesome system
Do not go to this studio. Their business policies are awful!
I like the Masters, they help me hands on get better right when I make mistakes .-New Student Aoee 7yrs old
We definitely love this school, everyone is extremely capable of teaching and very careful with students, especially careful with children.I have my kids enrolled and they love to practice. My son Arthur (08 years old) has been practicing for 2 years and my daughter Letícia (10 years old) started a few weeks ago.Currently it is being one of the best investments we have chosen for their lives, because in addition to learning martial arts, they make friends, exercise, and especially learn to use self control, because in the challenges they are able to deal with frustrations and also with achievements a new stage.I recommend it to everyone!
A Martial experience for the whole family my 2 boys have improved both academically and physically, the teachers are great and they know the culture. I have practiced taekwondo in other places and this world martial arts academy 🥋 has been the best experience I have ever had. Come and try !!!!
