CityScape is a wonderful apartment community. The management makes everything very easy and accessible. Maintenance requests were handled promptly. And I always felt safe here. The amenities are gorgeous and well kept. I feel like I picked the perfect place to live.
We would love to make this our forever spot to live! We have been here since May 2020, and we definitely have been meaning to leave a review. From the start, Ashley was so welcoming and made sure we and our fur kiddos were taken care of. It’s been such a nice spot to live in the city, and we feel safe too.We appreciate all the information the Cityscape team provides us with and keeping us up to date. Thank you for being the best!
Do not live here. Management bribes people to write 5 star reviews. This place is very poorly run. The people that manage this place will mislead you to get you to sign the lease and then immediately defer all responsibility. They offered 25$ to residents who would write a good review yet nobody is writing reviews because it was awful to live here. If you have any issues while living here they will NOT help you resolve it.
Been at Cityscape for a little over a month now and its been a good experience. I like the staff very much. Destiny is a really good manager. Ashley is awesome at what she does too. New to downtown they will go out of their way to help you find your way around. Destiny suggested a school for my son and they introduce me to one of the teachers. Theyre great people.
We have lived here for 5yrs & we really have had an easygoing rental experience! 🤷♀️New community patio is nice, Luxor is handy, very clean common areas, pretty well maintained garage & Rick is always speedy to finish maintenance requests.Management has changed multiple times but they have always been pleasant & host good community events.Super convenient location too. You can walk to grocery stores, coffee, food & bars in no time!My only complaint is the courtyard noise can carry if your apt faces it & sometimes the hallway noise can be a lot. But overall not too bad noise wise.
Been Living here since Dec 2020. This review is long overdue Ashley is wonderful she is super attentive of all the tenants always with a smile!Destiny is has the same spirit and both make it very pleasant and hazle free when I have any questions. If something happens in a unit like a burnt bulb or leak Rick is quick to handle it!Amenities are great and cozy with a plus of having little events here and there that make it an enjoyable experienceClose to the Uni and Downtown10/10 recomend
Based on our recent interaction with one of the representatives of the management team, I believe his name was Jan but am not 100% sure, but none the less would never go back there. The other person that did help us was very nice however believe she was only trying to make up for how rude her cohort was. If that is how this management company would want their representatives to treat future potential residents then that reflects pretty badly on them. It is one thing to think you represent a pretentious community but it is another to act that way. Normally I would call someone out for their total lack of customer service but again the gal helping us was so nice and helpful. I write this review only in that he learns from it. If I had to reference the experience I would equate it to how Julia Roberts was treated on Rodeo Drive in Pretty Woman. First of all, know who you are speaking to but most of all treat everyone with respect. Please know that it takes a lot for me to take the time to write a review for whatever that is worth.
I dont know where to start,if i want to talk about cityscape. All i can say is,i love it here. Management is on a different level 100%, i will highly recommend this place to anyone
We have been so happy with life since moving in to CityScape Apartments. It is situated in the perfect spot of city convenience. Our apartment is so comfortable and well designed. The amenities provide a variety of activities without having to leave the property. The gym is so clean and stocked with every piece of equipment needed. The community rooms are and always so sparkling clean and welcoming. The market around the corner is so convenient and has everything! We love the CityScape Apartment life. Come be our neighbor!
I have live here for a year now and have never had any problems. This is the cleanest and most quiet building ever. I love the office and maintenance staff and the cleaning crews are amazing.
I had a great experience overall living here! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to live in the downtown Salt Lake area.
Nothing but a positive experience by all staff members. Worked with Derrick on leasing and the day of move in. Being from out of state he took videos/measurements of the apartment for me and went above and beyond to help with any information I needed. He was nothing but helpful and made the move in experience so easy. Any maintenance requests that were made were handled immediately by the maintenance staff. Rick and Derrick did a wonderful job not only installing the dryer, but they also helped me troubleshoot something I was trying to put together while he was there. I’ve had a wonderful experience so far and I am so pleased I chose CityScape as my home. My parents helped me move and also commented on how amazing and kind everyone was as well!
The word amazing does not do this place justice the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Derrick goes out of his way to create great events and the entire staff even helps out when your kids or dogs make a mess.Absolutely without a doubt one of the best and kindest places to live in downtown Salt Lake City!
Just moved in and love the amenities. It is a great place for young professionals. The community is fantastic and a great way to meet people even during Covid. Everyone Ive met so far has been very polite and considerate for those that are mask aware. I most recently had a work request in for my heat to get turned on and they came in same day. I also had Rick check in to make sure it was taken care of and he even fixed my garbage disposal while he was here.
This place has taken a recent decline since male manager left. Ashley is unfriendly and always busy she had an attitude when I came in to inquire about living there. The last time i was there the manager Derrick helped me and he was so friendly and helpful. I hope they hire someone competent soon.
Rick the maintenance man is awesome! They are supposed to have two people on that team but even though they have been understaffed he has been top of fixing every issue.
If you care about security at all, do not live here. In the three months I lived here, there were multiple garage break-ins, most of what I own was stolen, and there was a gunshot on premises. Management said break-ins were common when we complained. You could not pay me to live here again.
Amazing amenities, views and location. A quick walk to downtown restaurants and bars. Great quick hikes nearby, and the maintenance staff has been amazing since we moved in. Rick and Patrick in particular have been super helpful with small tweaks within the apartment. They really look out for you here.
Office staff are always helpful and friendly.Maintenance requests are taken care of quickly.
Great place. Clean and quiet. Office staff and maintenance are amazing and responsive.
What a lovely place to live. The apartment including appliances were exactly what I was looking for. The amenities were beyond expectations - loved the rooftop spa and fitness center. Derrick goes above and beyond to be friendly and inclusive for all of his tenants. So many social activities to participate in and meet other tenants. The location is ideal for the city including restaurants and shopping and easy access to interstate. Too many positive comments to write.
Ive lived at Cityscape for over 4 years and love the community! The location is central, and you can walk to bars and restaurants. The building is in excellent condition! Rick, the head maintenance man, is always extremely fast in fixing any problems with the apartment. The high quality of maintenance on the building creates a very at-home feel.
Ashley is awesome! I came to her with a concern and she handled it quickly and professionally, updating me every step of the way. For an apartment thats very community based she went above and beyond to prove how much she cares about the residents. Ive lived here a year and a half and she is the best employee Ive worked with!
We moved to Cityscape from Pennsylvania, without having seen the apartment in person (Ashley did a very helpful and patient video tour for us) & we just love it so far. Everything is clean, as it was advertised, secure-feeling, and everyone (staff and residents) has been super friendly/helpful.The apartments are very quiet and the location is really, really good.Amenities are nice but not over the top.The ONLY complaint we have so far is that you just use their media package using Fastel internet, which is of a decent speed but apparently horrible customer service and Fastel is not open on weekends. Google fiber or similar would make this place a 6/5 for us!P.S.- Ashley, the lease manager/all around question-answerer, is really good at her job and was the most friendly and respectful of all the apartment managers we spoke to while apartment hunting!
Great location, walking distance to lots of places, parks, and restaurants, and the building is wonderfully maintained by Rick who is so prompt and competent and kind. He makes living here stress-free which is a big plus for a big apartment building
From the beginning of the process, Ashley was amazing! She answered all the questions I had and showed me 3 different units so I had some options. Once I moved in, the maintenance staff, Pat and Rick, were so helpful and always asked if I needed anything if they saw me. They come on the weekends to make sure plants are watered and the grounds are in top condition. The other tenants have been very friendly and I highly recommend living here!
CityScape is an awesome community to live in! People are diverse, social, and very nice. The dog community here is awesome as well! The staff here are also very kind and do a great job at upkeeping the community grounds! Plus living so close to shopping of all kind is my favorite.
These apartments are very nice, well maintained, and with a perfect location. Maintenance and office staff are great, and everyone has been extremely helpful, friendly and caring. If I need anything it is taken care of fast and Im really happy to live here!
Have lived in CityScape for about two months now, and it has been great. Very happy here. Ashley and Brittany have been super helpful, and move in and getting settled has been very easy. The building is nice, well maintained, services are reliable, and the apartment is great.**Updated review 4/2021** Living in Cityscape has been really good. Had only planned on living here for a year before figuring out where next to move on to, but decided to re-sign for an additional year, since life has been good here. Still have had no serious problems, neighbors are quiet, and the building is well taken care of. For the few things that have come up, Ashely P in the front office has been fantastic - she is very friendly and always makes sure things get taken care of in a timely manner (billing, maintenance, whatever, she makes sure it gets taken care of). Its nice to know that management is very responsive. It was just a lot easier to sign on for another year than to move.
Appreciate the help!!!!! Ashely is always professional courteous and wart hearted.
Ashely and other team members of CityScape are incredibly dedicated. Overall a great place to live abd very pet friendly.
I HAVE NOT EVEN MOVED IN YET BUT HAVE TO SAY THAT I AM SUPER EXCITED TO LIVE HERE. EVERYONE IS SO NICE AND THE PLACE IS AMAZINGLY CLEAN AND QUIET. THE APARTMENT WILL BE GREAT I JUST KNOW IT AND I CANNOT WAIT TO MOVE IN.
I lived her for a year and the staff here is absolutely amazing. The front office staff (Hillary & Tracy) have gone above and beyond for me, even after my lease has ended. They schedule a ton of fun, free events that help you meet others in the apartment. The after hours staff was also great and resolved my issue promptly. I highly recommend this apartment complex.
Ive lived in quite a few of the apartments around SLC, and CityScape has been my favorite by far. Everything is run very smoothly, they have free events all of the time, and the apartment itself is awesome with a great view. Ive had to put in only one work order and it was taken care of in no time and with no hassle or any questions. If you are questioning whether or not this is the spot for you - stop thinking about it and just do it. You wont regret it.
This property is so nice. I love living here. The office staff is amazing and always helpful! Would recommend 100%
Weve lived in the CityScape apartments for over a year and loved every minute of it! The front office is friendly and works hard to attend to issues. Weve had minor maintenance requests often, like replacing light bulbs, but theyre completed in a timely manner by the awesome maintenance staff. The community areas are kept clean and are great places to entertain guests. Our 1 bed/1 bath apartment has a comfortable layout with plenty of storage and space, not to mention up-to-date appliances that work well. Weve loved our time at CityScape and highly recommend living here if youre looking for a great community to live in in downtown Salt Lake City.
We love living here. Whenever we have had any questions/issues Emory and the CityScape crew respond very quickly. The staff seem to work extra hard to keep everything looking fresh and new. The gym and courtyard are very nice and the apartment balconies are big enough to create a perfect little private oasis. The building feels very safe, secure, and quiet (I never hear any of my surrounding neighbors).
Brittany from the front office went out of her way to help fix my internet issue. She stayed in my apartment an hour on the phone with Fastel and gave me a router to use while Im here. 100% like the employees and highly recommend living here.
Called and spoke to Ashley 9/11/19 and explained I needed to rent an apt quickly long distance. She identified an empty apartment and I said I wanted to submit an application for it. She then was unable to explain how to apply online so said shed get right back to me. I didnt hear from her after 2 hours so I called again. No answer, so I left a voicemail. Never heard back.I dont know why she failed to get back to me. Perhaps its due to simple incompetence and thats why they have empty units in the first place. Its pretty strange that she couldnt explain how to apply online. Maybe there is some reason she didnt want to rent to me. Did she dislike my name? All I can do is speculate because she ghosted me. One of the crummiest rental agents Ive ever dealt with.
Originally I moved into a second floor apartment in this building. The first few months seemed okay.Moved from that unit a few months later as one of the building workers moved in above me. His dog used the balcony as the potty area. Each week he cleaned it by spraying it down with a hose. Everything, dog pee and whatever else would drip down onto my outdoor furniture. I complained about it several times. It never stopped. I decided to move to the top floor. This put me out $600 for movers and then I had to give another another deposit. For 10 months the courtyard and dog potty area was unaccessible due to a remodel. Residents were told it would be completed in Aug 2019 (it was opened in Jan 2020.) This forced dog owners to take their dogs to the front of the of the building. This area isn’t secure and is frequented by the homeless. I did not feel it was safe for my daughter to help take the dog out especially in the winter at 5:00 PM, again not the best of neighborhoods. During those 10 months residents were not charged the monthly amenities fees. I felt it seemed amicable given the situation. However, in December of 2019 they back-billed the tenants for the prior months that hadn’t been charged. There was no communication from management indicating they would be doing this. The billing only provided two weeks to pay just before Christmas.Prior to the new management company, I felt residents were adequately notified of the community events. Text messages were commonly used to communicate and broadcast an event or issues. The new management lacks here. In March 2020 SLC experienced a 5.6 earthquake. It rattled the building fiercely. Elevators were down For a couple of days and management was nowhere to be found. Notification was never sent as to when the elevators would be running. An email was sent days later to residents with “helpful tips” to follow during an earthquake. At that point it was irrelevant. It would have been really helpful to have a reminder of where all the exits in the building are and discuss the measures the building staff would take to ensure that tenants wouldn’t be trapped on their floor when elevators were down. When my lease was ending soon I found another place. I had six weeks to move my things slowly. Then COVID-19 hit. I became anxious as day by day it seemed the government would set in a stay at home order. I emailed the staff to ask what would happen if such a case arose preventing the ability to move. Staff responded by insisting I was to still to pay rent. Never did I say I wasn’t going to pay. In my correspondence I specifically stated that I would still pay rent, however wanted to know that if I am unable to move due to circumstances beyond my control, what would they do. I was told I would need to sign a 60 day lease agreement at a premium rate. When I pressured for the owner/bosses name I was then told “they would work with me if on May 6th there was a lockdown”. Knowing the management team was only concerned about being paid, and then with the suggestion that I would pay a premium, I called a moving company immediately. Something I had not planned to do. I then had additional expenses for the move because I couldn’t trust the building to give me a break. This cost nearly $1200.I still paid the following months rent. In February I was told that if I had moved completely out they would place the unit on the website as available. When the time came (April 1st), I let them know I was moved and asked when the unit would be placed available (hoping I would receive a refund if the unit rented) I was then told that they must show all the other available units in the building before mine unless someone specifically asked for a top floor apartment. At that point I really knew the place does not care about its tenants- at all. There are many newer “luxury” buildings in the area the downtown area, I wouldn’t recommend leasing from CityScape.
Had the pleasure of living here for a year before a job offer moved us out of state. We would have stayed indefinitely as it is a great place to live. Clean, quiet and an awesome location. Hillary is great to deal with and is always looking out for the residents here. We will miss it here.
I was hung up on, they are beyond rude and would not answer any questions. I find that disrespectful when people call in they act that way. not a good place not good service and new people should be hired to handle.phones
I LOVE my apartment at Cityscape. The location is great and the building is beautiful. I especially appreciate Cityscapes concern with resident safety and accommodation. The complex offers awesome amenities and is completely secure. My friends are constantly commenting on the gorgeous features and modern design in my apartment as well. Im so glad that I chose Cityscape for my new home!
Our first month living at CityScape has been wonderful. The few issues weve had have been handled by the team very quickly. We were a little apprehensive to move into a large apartment complex but weve been pleasantly surprised. The building has great noise control between units and it has been a pleasure dealing with a professional management company. We also love being able to pay our rent online.
Ashley is so friendly and super helpful! What a great experience so far!
Worst management ever. The people running this place are Fing clueless.
My boyfriend and I moved into CityScape almost 2 months ago. We could not be happier with our choice to live here! The building is brand new, very secure, and very appealing in every possible way. We have a great view, high ceilings, washer/dryer in our apartment, and too much more to describe! The management is great and very easy to communicate and work with. And it is in the perfect location, right in the middle of everything; we never have to look more than a block away for anything! We feel so safe and comfortable here, and it really does feel like home :-) Would highly recommend to anyone!
Awesome place to live! Ive lived at a few building downtown, and can honestly say the management and facilities team at CityScape are awesome! They definitely help create a great living community.
Let me get this in the first line in case you get bored of reading: this place is amazing. The staff and community have come together to make an apartment complex feel like home. Hillary and Tracy (the front desk workers) are extremely friendly and can help you with every question you have plus one you hadnt thought yet. On top of this, they are constantly planning community events including painting, pizza parties, and zumba! The maintenance crew is fast, friendly, and always does a stand up job. Our dog loves her little home and the neighbors, for the most part, are courteous about their dogs. The worst thing I can think of is one time a dog was off leash and the occasional left poop in the court yard, but thats small compared to how happy our pup is here. As a current resident wrapping up their time here, I can say that living at CityScape is an opportunity that nobody wants to pass up!
Love this apartment, sad to move from here. Was my first apartment in SLC. Best Apt. ever, monthly events, friendly stuff, great location, great amenities, positive vibes. Take efforts to make your life easy. Hillary is awsome person and very professional. Stuff is always ready to help.Love it.
First I should say that the local folks (on-site property managers, maintenance personnel, etc.) we very friendly and accommodating, to the extent that they were allowed to be. This review is not reflective of those folks at all. That being said, I will say the following:I lived at CityScape for almost three years. In the middle of my last 12-month least agreement, I had a family situation come up that required me to move out prematurely.Specifically, my father had a medical situation that caused him to not be able to live at home without someone there 24/7 to be his caretaker. To be blunt: if I could not move in with him, he would literally die. This is not a hyperbolic statement.I made this very clear to the management company (actually companies, since these changed no less than 3 times during my tenancy atCityScape). They would not budge at *all* from the terms of my lease. In their defense, of course, it was entirely their right to respond in this way. Their mantra: If we make an exception for you, we would have to make it for everyone. Factually, this may be true. However, how many people could honestly say they were in my same position? Not many, if any, I suspect. My early-termination fee? Three months rent. Technically 60-days notice to vacate and a one-month ETF fee. While this is perfectly in line with Utah law, it was frankly heartless. (Many other states allow for early termination of a lease in these circumstances.) I suggested many compromises, but they declined all of them. To add insult to injury, I was told that if someone was interested in leasing my apartment during this period, they would do so and refund to me the pro-rated amount, this even given that I had probably the best one-bedroom apartment on the top floor of the complex. This was total horse pucky. No effort at all was made to do this. So, my advise: if you plan on becoming a resident of CityScape, take some time to think about what might happen in your future. I was repeatedly told (by the big wigs at their main office I believe in Texas) that ...our primary goal is to make sure our tenants are happy. Obviously, this is not the case. It was also a huge effort to even let me communicate directly with the decision makers - for weeks I had to go through local management.Additionally, there is the fact that apartments in metro Salt Lake are growing like weeds. CityScape purports itself as a high-end, luxury community. However, it was only after many resident complaints that they finally upgraded their security. It is obvious to me, in my opinion, that the owners of CityScape are concerned about only one thing: making as much money as they can, not at all taking into account my specific circumstances. Again, well within their legal rights, but they have no interest in being humane in circumstances such as mine.If you are looking to rent in a high-end apartment complex in metro SLC, I would suggest you check out other options first, of which there are many. CityScape is first and foremost concerned about making money, not their stated concern of making sure their tenants are happy. Also, in regards to their interior, the carpeting in the common hallways looks like it is straight out of the 1970s. It was actually embarrassing to have friends over. Many commented on the very dated look of the interior.I should mention that I am a 25-year IT professional. CityScape forces residents to commit to a ($130.00) media package. While this does include basic DirecTV channels (you must pay extra if you want premium channels) and excellent 1gig internet, the smart home portion of this forced payment leaves much to be desired. Thus, if you are concerned about being able to make your own choices re: technology, as they say, forget about it. They contract most of their tech services through a 3rd party that frankly has some of the worst customer service that Ive ever seen.My final advise: steer clear of CityScape, unless you like being treated like a dollar sign.
Fantastic apartment community. Very nice apartment homes, and Ive worked with the management team there. Theyre fantastic. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Lovely place. Updated gym equipment.
A nice place to live, but with some issues. The building is in good condition, and the apartments are pretty well laid out, with good sizes. Appliances and appointments are modern and good quality. However, there is a real issue with maintenance - specifically cleanliness. For the level of building this is, I was kind of surprised about this. A lot of the time messes in the hallways or the elevator or in the trash rooms (which frequently have dirt or small bits of garbage all over the floor) are not cleaned up very quickly, and kind of just sit there. The weekends are especially bad, as people tend to be messier then, and the building office closes early on Saturday, and opens on Monday. Youd think they would do a last cleaning at the very end of the week, and then start again early Monday, but that doesnt happen.Often the common rooms, or the bathrooms by the gym will become very filthy, and the tiny garbage will be overflowing. Sometimes this mess is from FRIDAY and persists over the weekend, even a a FEW DAY into the next week - this kind of seems unacceptable. Also, fresh towels for the gym/bathrooms will often just be left in a bundle on the floor instead of put on the shelves - or there wont be towels for a week, because none of the staff bothered to put them out.And some things just dont make sense. For example, recently, they had new flowers and plantings put in for the courtyard. A gardening company came an worked till the end of business Saturday. When they left, there were messes all over the building - twigs, leaves, and dirt in the elevator, dirty smudges all over the keypads, and little trails of things in the landings and hallways. There was certainly someone from the building there until after the workers left (they wouldnt be on the premises unsupervised) - common sense and good management would have had maintenance do a quick clean after all the work was done, so things were nice for the residents, instead of leaving a mess for two days.Even simple things like replacing the cups by the coffee machine, or refilling the paper towels/soap in the bathrooms or the wipes in the gym are often not done for quite a while, decreasing the value of the amenities. Its a lot of small things - but they add up.I think this all occurs because of (A) Bad management - the general manager does not seem to be especially on top of things, and more importantly, (B) there are only TWO full-time maintenance guys for a complex of 120+ apartments. This is far two few, and probably a good reason why so much is not done properly (Ive lived in less expensive apartments that had 2-3X the staff for the number of units). For the rent they charge here, they could easily afford to hire 1-2 more non-office staff, and ABSOLUTELY should. Its a shame, because this is a decent place, but it could be much better.
Unprofessional staff
I guess I should be glad that these apartments look as good as they do, but it really is a shame to see the city being filled up with cheap, overpriced wannabe hip apartments with paper thin walls and no courtyards or common spaces. the building is pushed right up to the sidewalk, and blocks the view of everything around it.
Mixed feelings about our stay at Cityscape - our accommodation was booked though corporate provider BridgeStreet who added on >$1000 per month rental costs - so beware of using unnecessary middle-men. The elevators do smell awful - gag-inducing; and dog excrement in the corridors [occasionally] is not a something we were expecting. Cleaning services are basic at best. Location is handy; though dodgy characters in the neighborhood after dark are a negative.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good environment good security system, good gym and location. Friendly neighbours.
Hillary and the rest of the staff are very responsive to the needs of residents. Great time living there.
We moved to Salt Lake City from Nshville, TN in December. We decided to give CitySkape a try due to their great customer service, convenient location, not to mention awesome amenities. Did I mention great locaiton already? Emory and his team have always been great to work with. Weve encountered only two very minor issues which have been handled immediately & in a very professional manner - their maintenance team is top notch and gets things done. Hot tub in the courtyard is amazing, water is always clean, and people follow the rules for most parts. We also have a dog, and we greatly enjoy the comfort of doggie area thats within the complex. There is a good mix of people of all ages here, and it is fairly easy to start new connections. Whether you are single, married or even have kids, you would be comfortable here. I would highly recommend this place to people that like downtown living and convenience of walking to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
Management is great, neighbors are friendly, great place to have a dog.
Very nice place.
Good security.
Awesome
