If I could give this company 0 out of 5 stars, I would. They say their company is committed to being “trusted voices of light and truth, but they certainly don’t practice what they preach. My daughter worked for KSL News Radio for a couple of years, first being hired as an intern. She worked very hard for her department and would work extra hours anytime in order to be a part of and help the team. She loved working there at the beginning, but after awhile we noticed a change in our daughter. She became distant, irritated and overall depressed. The only thing she would tell us (her family) is that she was dealing with awkwardness at work but she was never very specific about what had been happening. She ended up quitting her position not too long after all of this started, and it was after this that we learned about some of the things that had happened. It turns out she was being harassed by a male manager in the building and was also dealing with another inappropriate situation in the office that she did not want to be involved with or speak about. The manager involved has been with this company for many years, is a family man and someone you’d think would fill the role model example for a new hire out of college. Turns out that this is not the case.Hearing that he confronted my daughter in a newsroom studio yelling profanities at her for something another team member was responsible for is appalling to me. We also learned that he had raised his arms and stepped so close to her that she was in fear of being assaulted by this individual. There were multiple witnesses and witness statements to this outburst, as well as cameras in the newsroom. HR told our daughter that she would meet with higher ups to talk about his actions and what to do about them, but that never happened. More disturbing is the fact that the Digital/Podcasting Director called our daughter up to her office to speak about what had happened and she told our daughter that this wasn’t the first time this had happened, but not to worry because “he wouldn’t do anything to her”. This manager got away with what he did in the news room, continued his intimidation tactics and even went so far as to follow my daughter as she walked to her car in the parking garage. The most disturbing part of this story is that this pathetic excuse of a man is still working there! It has been a few years now and our daughter is healthy and nearly back to normal, but it has been a long battle. We are sharing this story because we don’t want this to happen to anyone else in this workplace. We almost lost our daughter over this and would hate to see someone else go through what our family did. I would never recommend this company to anyone as employee wellness and safety do not appear to be a priority for them.
I got to record there
