This was a huge waste of my time. They had no issues taking my money, when coming to pick up item I waited around for hours to pickup and item I had schedule a time for and had paperwork. There is one person capable of helping and a few other to tel you they have no clue what’s going on. If I would have known I would never bought a thing from the
Chandlers is a wonderful auction house with exceptional quality items. I received great communication and customer service throughout the entire process. Pickup was easy to schedule online and they had all my items ready to go when I came to pick them up.I found some one of a kind antiques and cant say enough how positive it was dealing with them. Highly Recommend!!
This has been the worst auction experience Ive ever had. First of all, no one at Chandler ever bother to answer their phone. The voicemail is always full so you cant leave a message. Their website is always not functioning and no one seems to care. After we drove two and half hours to pick the items we won at the online auction, they told us the items were broken. The owner was rude, arrogant, and not ethical. They sent us an email to confirm our appointment the day before our pick up date but told us the items were no longer available after we arrived their store. We will never use Chandlers auction again in the future. I wish I could give them a zero rating.
Have made many purchases in Chandlers auctions and have always been very pleased. The items are as described in auction notes. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Just read the responses of the owner to the reviews below and decide if you want to do business with someone that will respond to you like that should you provide honest feedback that he doesnt like.In terms of my experience, owner did to me the same as the others, agreed to hold my stuff, then seems to have resold it or whatever and now says he doesnt have it and wont refund me. He mentions storage costs that appeared out of nowhere and an imaginary terms and conditions that takes priority over the direct word of the owner in writing.Bottom line to all auction houses that want to sell remotely to a large audience online, no matter what garbage you put or dont put in your terms and conditions, you are 100% beholden to the same consumer protection laws and code of business ethics that everyone else follows. You cannot sell something then say you dont have space to store it and charge storage fees. This is called price gauging. You cannot force someone to pay for something in order to receive what they have already paid for in full. This is called extortion. You cannot discard the property of other people without being held accountable for doing so. Again, you are selling remotely, online -- a privilege, not a right. Should you not have storage space or hate customers in general, or any other personal problem, I would suggest holding local auctions at your county fair. I suggest booking the time slot before the livestock and goat auction because of the smell of cow and bull sh!t are not amenable to selling sofas, jewelry, etc and 30% house premiums. Thank you, Harry
Nice selection of items. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.
Buyer beware- they pass off new chinese made objects as antique.
Chandler, his family and staff do an amazing job! Always striving to be the best. Keep up the good work. It is always a pleasure doing business with you.
I visited the Rowan Auction house for the first time this Sunday and was very impressed with this auction house. By far the best set up and layout. Good lighting, ample seating, food smelled good (did not have any) and the auction flowed well with exceptional staff and Auctioneer (Supporting Auctioneers - thanks Rick and Jeff). They work hard to make it a good auction for both the seller and the buyer.Dan Reed
Dishonest, reckless and bigoted. Auctioneer took my money, said items accidentally went to donations bin despite my conversation with chandler himself via text and telephone throughout the period after the sale. He then tells me my African driver just showed up could barely speak English and did not have a pickup order for anything. I guess the drivers accent is why the auctioneer is as irresponsible as he is entitled or why he didnt see the two paid invoices that he presented to him? The Auctioneer then called me to tell me that he (meaning himself) is a nice person and that hes been in business 30 years and knows what hes doing. I told him its very clear he knows what he is doing, as hes reached great success. I also told him screaming that youre nice to other people while hurling racist insults moments prior and hanging up on them moments later is probably not a good idea. Might be better to let other people decide for themselves if and when you are nice. He hung up on me. He still has my money. Earlier in our conversation he said things like (direct quotes, all in writing) some foreigner just called me phone... By the way, he had spoken to my foreigner courier hours prior to the driver getting there and he didnt tell him there was nothing to pick up either. Poor guy drove 5 hours to pick up and this is what he had to deal with at his destination. This is after he drove there 2 weeks ago and the place was closed during their listed business hours. If youre reading this Chandler, refund / cover the cost of the courier. I know you dont like foreigners or people with accents but he has small children and is a good man.Editing to respond to the owners reply:Owners straw-man argument about late payment is a fabrication. I tried to pay him on 8 occasions during the the period of time after the auction. He didn’t offer online payment and no one would pick up the telephone, answer my emails or reply to me at all in the days that followed. That’s why I was so distraught about his filing of a dispute I stand by my words.Owner agreed on May 9th, in writing, that he would hold one chair. His words exactly: “I’ve got your back...thanks for bidding.” I heard nothing from him in the 2 weeks that followed. On June 4, I sent told him that the chair would be picked up in the coming days. no response. I tried again, no response. My courier tried to pick up on 6/13 at 2 pm. No one was there.Courier tried again July 3rd. He called 2+ hours before he arrived. He was told to make sure he had paid invoices. I sent those invoices immediately via email. Upon arrival, courier was told items were donated. Auctioneer then texts me that my driver doesn’t know how to speak English and that he doesn’t have the required paperwork. He then brings up ‘terms and conditions’ for first time.I did not knowingly agree to these terms and he contradicted those terms and conditions in writing on numerous occasions since the day of the auction. To be clear, the written statement of and direct agreement with auctioneer takes legal precedent over any terms & conditions that he alleges was signed in March. Was I to assume that he was lying to me in April, May and June because of terms and conditions from March?Auctioneer’s response to my review is the first I’ve heard of storage fees. He never gave me the opportunity to pay any storage fees or mentioned storage fees. Storage fees for what exactly? He didn’t store my items. He threw them out.Auctioneer believes he has the right to comment on not only the color of my courier’s skin but what he assumes about me and my work as well. His unprofessionalism and inappropriateness on full display. If this is the way you want to be treated, then do business at Chandler’s.
Fairly large warehouse that has a sell every other Sunday. Multiple vendors were selling the day I went. There were large pieces of furniture, glass, home stuff and coins for sell. Broad range of items sold.
Horrible communication! I paid invoice right away. Now they dont answer phone, rarely respond to emails. I had been trying to get my shipper lined up from Uship, but its kind of hard when Chandlers International Auctions and Estate Sales will NOT communicate. I think its time to file a dispute with my credit card co.Maybe the auctioneer didnt get the $$$$ that they needed and now they wont give up the merchandise. Bidders beware....
From Rolls Royce to furniture. Jewelry and Collectables. International Online Auctions.
Great auction house, honest and straight forward auctioneer, any thing you are looking for under one roof. a place of a good time and good deals.
I just love this place, you never what your going to find. The staff are and very knowledgeable.
Great place to find interesting items at auction; always personable and friendly, no matter if you spend $10 or $1000. It is a bonus to have such a professional -- and globally oriented -- auction house in Winston Salem.
Be very carefull he keeps the antiques from you that has more antique value and his own strategy is to keep it and and resale your antiques. Like antique Jade for $25.- dollars on unvaluable auctions( it was supposed to be sold by him on unvaluable to resale them on his own store. He pays you and price your antiques for $25.- dolares like if it was sold for you on unvaluable auctions for example something that worth thousands and he does this to keep these antiques in his own store in Winston Salem to resale them for how much you know he is an expert to price his own antiques for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I lost a lot of money taking very valuable collectible items for auction, on this site. Example. An antique collectible appraised for $3000- U.S.D. The owner of this site started a bid for $20.- and thats what it was sold for $20.- dollars He never asked me how much do you want to sale your items for and he set the prices for my items and those prices were very ridiculous like 80 times less the real value. And I was not able to find out who was the real buyer, or if there were some items returned to the store he made it very difficult for me to track how many items were sold on the auction or how many were returned to the store. He just gave me a box with some items that were not sold or were returned and a symbolic check with a very confusing list of items that were supposed to be returned after being purchased in the auction. Some items that were marked as not sold or consignment returned were not in this box, and I tried to call to ask him what happened with these missing items and he (owner of this auction business) never returned my called. I trusted them because this auction web site looks very impressive but they took advantage of me and I lost all my investment I had made for years to buy this collectible items. Symbolic check or payment was given to me from this auction business 3 months after I left my collection in this auction store.
A lot of good items
Great owners
