I traveled up north last week and ended up in Salinas California a cute little town ...hungry as always my boys and I with friends and family went to Thai beautiful restaurant I loved it ....real big portions .. friendly service. Kind waiters. It was awesome π I greatly recommend it great prices too....
Decent. I have fond memories of Casa del Sazon. I think by offering so many menu options their food went from very good to mediocre. We went as a group. The quesabiΕria looked good but the dip (conzume) had about a 1/4 inch of grease/oil. The tostada de Camaron (shrimp) was bland and the shrimp were overcooked yet cold. I had the gordita plate. The pastor came in clumps within the gordita shell and half of the gordita (at the end) was just beans. The dry birria plate was light on actual birria.I think this place owes a lot of their reviews to the molcajete dish that looks awesome. The other dishes not special at all.
On another day I probably would of given this restaurant 5 stars. The food is great. However, today the service was off. We waited over 30 minutes and then where told our order had some how not made it to the chefs. 10 minute later, we saw two huge orders go out before we got our food. I was about to cancel or meal but we were told the food would be ready in 3 minutes and it was. My green shredded beef enchiladas were amazing like usual.
This place is pretty good, but I canβt believe how high the prices have gone up. $8 for a side of rice and beans? And theyβre not even that good. The pupusa plate used to be $10. Itβs now $18. π£
My coworkers and I decided to visit this spot because it was recommended by a local. Food looked, smelled, and tasted great. However, it is heavily seasoned, so if you have a sensitive stomach... itll get to you!!! Portions are enough to share a plate between two people. Prices are decent; about 15-20 $ per person. Location is great... However, the inside space is HORRIBLE! Small & Crowded.
Went and got seated in outside dining area. After that, we waited over 20 minutes and not one employee came by to offer us anything to drink or take our order. We got up and left. Place wasnt busy at all to where they would ignore their customers for that long. First and last time ever going there.
This is one of my favorite Mexican spots in Salinas. The food is always good and the value is great. The menu is a bit extensive, there is something for everyone. The molcajete was great!
Im not a huge fan. I want to like this place because many people I know do. But their customer service consistently needs improvement. And their food is mediocre. One thing they do have that you cant find just anywhere, are homemade corn tortillas. I went just recently they food was good. The time before that, which has surely been over a year was awful. We ordered food to go because we were in a hurry. There were multiple people that showed up to dine in, ate and left before we got our food. We asked a few times about our food and they said it was coming, but they didnt realize our order wasnt actually sent until the second or third time we asked. We had already paid, therefore couldnt just leave. We did ask for a refund or compensation of some sort and they seemed irritated with us. Once we finally brought our food home, we realized it wasnt even what we had ordered. When I called to let them know, they stated we got what was on the order. I couldnt believe they were taking more responsibility, they just blamed it on one of their employees, when it was definitely multiple people we spoke to.
Really good burritos! Placed a to go order and it was ready in the time they specified.
Decent food, 1hr 20 minutes from arrival - till food on the table. Spend a lot time waiting, they need help in the kitchen
Very disappointed. We ordered a Huarache with marinated beef and the Molcajete Vegetariano. The Huarache was soggy and undercooked and very bland. The Molcajete was inedibly hot. No other flavors noticeable. The veggies were overcooked and limp, except for the potatoes, which were crunchy. We tossed it.
Great food great taste just to spicy for me its HOOOOOT LOL great service definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in salinas
The Molcajete is our absolute favorite! One is enough for two or three people. Be warned it is spicy.
The molcajete IS SO GOOD
Foodπ₯ Drinksπ₯ Peopleπ₯ Atmosphere π₯ now open for indoor dining! Bar open! π»
Ask for Scarlett, and please tip her well. She remembered all of our large orders without needing to write it down, and this was with 10 people as well. Weβre from out of town and have never had this type of experience, EVER. Give her a raise also or else weβll boycott with picket signs outside the store ha ha. Just kidding, but she made the experience that much more enjoyable. Very swift, serene and respectful.
Passing thru town glad we found itGreat food and service
BEST. MEXICAN. FOOD. IN TOWN, HANDS DOWN. And the Chabelas aint bad neitherπΊπBest people too.
Food was great, just not very attentive service.
Very good Mexican food and reasonable prices
There was more oil in a so-called pappusa than you can fit in a pan . Horrible
The Food here is outstanding! Far surpassing all other Mexican restaurants this side of the Mississippi! Lol No but it is the best of the surrounding areas in my opinion! Everything is authentic and they make their tortillas and corn chips fresh daily. They offer 3 in house salsas, mild, medium and HOT! All VERY very good! The most popular is a House Special, the Molcajete Michoacano! Its AMAZING with plethora of flavors that melt in your mouth with each bite! Its pretty big so bring your appetite! The margaritas are bomb and the homemade flour chips and guacamole appetizer is highly recommended! Casa del Saxon has great food good service and a friendly staff.
Double check order.....the molcagete not the same it was all nopales... no meat no nothing waist of money............
I love their rice and beans
Exelente service! The molcajete is delicious.
Had the grill chicken super burrito also had them grill the burrito on the outside oh my goodness fantastic worth every penny
I have NO IDEA what is up with the bad reviews on Yelp. My family I have eaten food all over Mexico and Latin America and this is some of the best weve ever had. The service is fantastic. What more could you possibly want? Amazing. We will definitely be back
A nice place with great food. Most dishes are very good and they offer homemade corn tortillas. Only downfall is food can take up to 45 minutes to get to your table... at lunch. I would eat here more, but I just cant take the time on lunch. Great food, however!
Is good food but service is slowly
Mexican food and service at this location is super good. I wish there were more places like this around town. Really nothing but good experiences here. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Expensive prices
The pictures on website dont do it justice the food is so flavorful. Cant wait to go back.
The tacos I got were okay. The homemade tortillas were actually better then the meat. I got Al Pastor. The Horchata was good as well.
I havent been here since they changed ownership. Really love the place. They have a good variety on the menu and the service is good. We enjoyed our meal a lot.
Really nice ambiance, good food, and great service. Would highly recommend if your looking for really good homestyle Mexican dishes, would definitely go again!!
Outstanding spot for tasty mexican food. This place does it for me. The bill was well within reason for the quality.
Love the food but the service last night was terrible. Two people, first plate arrived 15 minutes before the second plate. Ordered chocolate ice cream at the end, was served Rocky road that was old, gummy and stuck to my teeth. New waitresses, where was our male waiters who were so good? So terribly disappointed. -1 star for service, 3+ star for food.
Good Quality Foodπ―πππ
The staff is very friendly. I have food sensitvities and when I mentioned a mistake with my meal they took it back then gave me a fresh plate at no extra cost. They have events where Musicians perform, so if there are guests with issues to loud noises, I recommend checking the resturant first. In addition, the food sometimes takes a while to arrive to the table on busy days. They have a limited selection of vegetarian/vegan options.I highly recommend this resturant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a wonderful atmosphere.
Bomb. Com everything on the menu is good. Margaritas are great too
Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Staff is welcoming and friendly staff. Food is yummy.
The food is delicioso!!!!! Always fresh, the salsas are flavorful and have different intensities for the palate. They make fresh corn tortillas! You cant go wrong here!
The food was good. The service was slow. We had to ask for refills. We had a party of 10, they charged us for one drink change, cause it wasnt the same drink. Really?? Management need to train their servers.
Great food. Worth the wait. Delicious mararitas and palomas. Great customer service and friendly servers.
Food is delicious fast and friendly service but I believe there other location a few blocks away from here is much tastier
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and great drinks!
Great customer service. Food was good.
I would never go back as my siete mares had pieces of meat from the birria. My daughters milanesa torta tasted as the meat had been cooked in fish oil. Then my others daughters carne asada nachos were too salty and the chips too suggy. My wifes birria was tasteless except it tasted with a lot pepper and the broth was too oily.
Good food good service. Here visiting family and this is our spot to eat.
There food is good for the most part but this review is solely for the Birria. Its dry and looks grey. To me it taste like it wasnt cooked in the consume and boiled separately. The consume was watery and not thickened up. There was no real flavor or sauce. They need to go back to the drawing board.
Great food! My go to for Mexican food. If you like spicy food and shrimp I highly recommend the camarones a la diabla ! My go to plate.Place was renovated recently and hours changed so just call ahead to confirm.
The food is always great and the service is awesome
Really bad service, first time we come and it took like 15 minutes to acknowledge us and when were about to leave they decided to take our order then they bring our order incomplete with food missing and the guy would say sorry I forgot to put in your order like really dude.. really disappointed wont come here again π
This place is da boooomba for authentic Mexican food. A must if your passing through Salinas if your satisfying your appetite l!
Fabulous food and friendly service. Here on a business trip and was recommended to dine here by my customers and it was so good that I came back a second night.
My family and I have been going here for a couple of years now and I cant get over how great the food is here I totally recommend this to anyone.
Love that place..clean, friendly, fast service and GOOD MEXICAN FOOD!!
I had three types of tacos. All were flavorful, but two al Pastor and chorizo where above my spice level. The carnitas were spot on. Prices are reasonable.
Food is excellent! Authentic in taste and ingredients. Price is reasonable and portions are large. Atmosphere is okay but service is notoriously slow.
Love this place after I got married we had dinner here came back after almost 4 yrs love the service I recommend it to all who love authentic Mexican food ππ
I was happy. We were there for a small work meeting. One of my colleges want as happy, but most of us were. We were a party of 5.
We walked in to this restaurant and as white people, everyone stopped what they were doing to give us dirty looks. We were seated in a seperate room with other white people. Our order was taken pretty quickly and then our drinks came. Then our waitress took our order. We waited probably 30-45 minutes to get our food.. and since we were in a hurry on our way back home, it felt like forever. Once our food finally came, we started to eat, the food was extremely hot but thats good in most cases. Now, my family likes spicy food, but the food at La Casa del SazΓ³n is very spicy. One of us got Chile verde and it was so spicy, my enchaladas were the same way I could not finish them as they were too spicy.
Fast service great people everything on the menu is amazing
My co workers and I went to dinner. We were seated promptly and received good customer service. Food is very good.
Very poor customer service. They 30 minutes to como to help us and that was because we requested it. I am very disappointed, hopefully the new owners take it into consideration. By the way, it was not crowded. Customers on the next table, had to take their meal to go.
The best molcajete...the service perfect
Good food. Clean and good service. Takes awhile to get refills.
Great food, Best place to eat authentic mexican food.
Food is very delicious... well worth the wait especially for their fresh tortillas. π
Food is always great!! My favorite is the molcajete michoacano and their shrimp tacos. I recommend to get carry out on weekend since the wait can be up to an hour. On weekdays the service is usually faster.
Got good food but the service is really really really really slow
The service is sooooo bad!! No chips and when you get them, they are little stale pieces. No silverware or plates, takes forever to get your drinks. It is a disaster.
They took long to bring our food but it was worth it. it was very good.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Salinas
The best Mexican Food I have ever had. I was born in Mexico and i am 69 years old. It doesnt get better than La Casa del Sazon.
U will love the food, if u r willing to wait longer than normal 20 mins.
Love love love the burritos and very friendly staff!
Great food ! But just make sure they dont forget your tortillas when you do pick up... it seems to happen too often
Some of the best enchiladas and tostadas de camaron Ive had
This is my 2nd time back after initially going when they first opened this spot up. The first time I really wasnt thrilled about the place and was a little disappointed considering how awesome the food is at their Romie location. This time around I thought the food was really good! Its not at all how I remembered my first experience
Very good Mexican food with good selection of spicy salsas. Taco Tuesday is a must here, especially at happy hour.
Good food fast service
Great good the tortas are really good and the molcajetes
Best spot in Salinas frfr!
Food is great. Service is great. A bit expensive for being Salinas.
