Very professional, trained & knowledgeable staff. As expected the repair times are on the long end during COVID but its totally worth it for an honest repair establishment. They dont just do vacuums, but also most electrical appliances for the home. I brought them my 3 vintage lamps for base replacement/rewiring, which they did for $40 each. Will definitely be going back here! It took them about 2 months, so when I say slow I mean it, but keep in mind that I did not rush them or give a deadline so maybe if you need your job handled sooner rather than later they have the flexibility to accommodate if you ask.
Posting for my mom, Mary Egan.I have used Essex Vacuum for over two decades. They have good quality vacuums and accessories. Service is top notch, fast and incredibly reasonably priced. He has always been kind to me. So important to support local small businesses and this one is one of the best!
Friendly, helpful, professional, knowledgeable. Fixed our blocked vacuum cleaner and did not charge a fee. Who does that these days.
I am so happy to have found a local business to purchase vacuum bags I previously thought were only available online. Id much prefer to do business here rather than Amazon.I was impressed with Bruces knowledge and dedication. I am very happy to know I can bring in my sebo vacuum, my most cherished and expensive possession, and have any issues fixed.Glad to support Bruce and rely on his expertise. Thank you!
Owner is very helpful, prices are great, better than Amazon. I can highly recommend this store.
Amazing customer service, quality and honesty. I have been a pet groomer for 30 years, finding a place to service the dryers has been one of the biggest challenges in my industry. Normally need to ship back to company or dryer is ruined. Not only did it come back working as it should, he was totally honest about some maintenance I thought needed to be done. Could have easily charged me for the work and not told me the parts inside were perfectly fine. In addition, he fixed my sewing machine while I was just dropping it off. They do many repairs on a wide variety of items, even screen repairs!!!!!
Got a “quote” to repair a touch lamp startig at $80 going up. There are cheaper places out there I do not recomend this place unproffesional!
Just got a new Miele Cat Dog from Bruce, the owner. Not for us, no, our vacuum, also bought from Essex Vacuum, is doing just fine in its 15th year. The new one is for our daughter,Buying a residential vacuum cleaner is not a matter of walking in and picking out the “red one”. Bruce took the time to ask the questions that were important to get the right vac for the situation in which it will be used. And, he carried it out and put into my automobile. As for our Miele, it is still going fine. However, as I told Bruce, some of the attachments were wearing out; no problem, Bruce got us replacements within a few days.Essex is about customer service and satisfaction.I highly recommend Essex Vacuum.
Essex Vacuum has repaired quite a bit of equipment for us! A great spot to have for dog grooming dryer repair!
I brought in my sewing machine because it sounded bad and was having intermittent problems. I figured something was probably broken and it most likely needed to be cleaned. When I arrived at the store, Bruce stopped what he was doing to help me. Instead of just taking my machine, he asked me some questions and then, in about 5 seconds, fixed the problem! It was so refreshing to have someone willing to really want to help and not just make a sale. So nice to have someone I felt I could trust and not want to rip off a customer. While there I saw that he also does screen repairs. I will be bringing my screen door in for him to repair. Thanks Bruce!
These guys got my vacuum to really suck, HUH! Great for light repair too
This shop is the epitome of service. Bruce, the owner, really knows his stuff. He sells quality vacuums at a reasonable price, has incredible service, and is friendly and personable, to boot. Ive purchased 2 vacuum cleaners from Essex Vacuum, and whenever ive had an issue with any of the machines(usually my fault!!), Bruce has taken care of me quickly and efficiently, and with a smile. I cant recommend this place enough. There is no other place one should purchase a vacuum. As a small business owner myself, I especially appreciate Bruces high level of service.
We have a 30+ year old Miele vacuum that broke a belt. I contacted Miele customer service to order a part and after being laughed at for thinking theyd have parts for such an old machine, not to mention it was made in Switzerland, I contacted Essex Vacuum where we bought the unit back in the early 80s. I brought the broken belt and power head in and on the spot (well within 10 minutes) was repaired and headed home. Cant say enough about customer service. If there were 10 stars I would have given all 10.
Honest, reliable, courteous service. Very reasonable prices. Excellent work. We’ve been coming here for ten years—our vacuums and we have always been happy.
They took care of my Electrolux Vacuum in about 5 minutes. Wow! Very professional and knowledgeable.
I had a ceiling light fixture that needed to be rewired and Bruce at Essex Vacuum repaired it in a very short time and a very reasonable price.
I totally recommend this place, first of all for the honesty and second of all for the great job they did it fixing my vaccum . Thank you.
What an amazing place! Christopher was able to fix my vacuum when a repair man broke it and he was timely and extremely kind. I’m never taking my vacuums any where else!
I brought my Miele vacuum into Bruce at Essex Vacuum on Black Friday just after the store opened. Bruce came right out of the back room as soon as I entered the store. I told him that my vacuum had stopped working, I was worried that I burned out the motor. I had also changed the bag which had been overfull with dirt. My vacuum started right up for Bruce but he told me that I still had to check the hose and the wand. He also told me a few things about my Miele vacuum, which was interesting and made me feel that I had a good vacuum even if it was 15 years old. When I brought my vacuum home it started right up after I attached the hose. Apparently after I changed the bag it did not start up right away ---- after a while when I brought it to Essex Vacuum the it did. I did not pay Bruce any money and I would not have unless he detected a real problem and fixed it. I like that. And I appreciate knowing a little more about my vacuum which, probably, will carry me until I no longer need one.
Bruce is the consummate professional. I’ve been doing business with him for years. He has always been honest, giving me options on repair or replacement. It’s clear he understands the importance of a satisfied customer. I’ve highly recommended him to my family and friends and will continue to do so.
Great service! Bruce is knowledgeable and caring. Im incredibly impressed with the level of service. Worth it!
Have been to Essex Vacuum several times over the years for our business. We run a B. & B. and cant be long without our vacuum. I have always been treated well and the service has been super. Repair work done as quoted and quickly. Thank you.
I have been here twice and both times I was greeted with courtesy and professionalism. The work was done quickly and for a very reasonable price.
I found this service years ago and have been thrilled with the level of service he provides! He is an expert with most types of vacuums and runs a high quality business. Five Stars in my book!
Great place with reasonable prices and excellent modern vacuums.
Had such a bad experience at this location very unprofessional. The worker told me to trash my vacuum. We are better off purchasing a new one. This is my second Vacuum within two years. If its covered under warranty I expect him to at least look at it before determining if it needs to be trashed or not. I rather not deal with miserable people. I dont recommend this place to anyone
Took my Oreck air purifier in for warranty service two months ago. After excuse, after excuse its still not repaired. They never answer the phone - always goes to voicemail and when they call back its another excuse of why its not repaired. This time, when called by an Oreck representative while I was on hold an employee at Essex Vacuum stated he cant help because the owner is on vacation for two weeks. So, Oreck told me I now have to go back to Essex Vacuum pick up my still broken product and return it to Oreck. Essex Vacuum is absolutely useless and awful, my advice is to stay away!UPDATE 7/9/2019: Response to owners reply. The owner (Bruce) is correct that Oreck sent a replacement today, he did call immediately. Bruce was pleasant and very apologetic when I arrived at Essex Vacuum. After dealing with him today I understand that he is professional and that the prior issues had nothing to do with him but an employee issue and issues with Oreck so, I am adjusting my review from a one to a four as Bruce actually did respond and correct the issues.
Very nice service and quick repair of my vacuum.
My husband and I took our vacuum in and the owner took one look, cleaned out the filter and handed the machine back to us at no charge (with instructions on how to prevent the issue in the future). Will absolutely be coming back for other repairs, it is so refreshing!
Wonderful and professional service from people who really know their products. Have been a customer for many years and Essex Vacuum and their staff NEVER disappoint!
Excellent service we bought a new Miele that we love. Bruce also repaired our old one for free. Would recommend them!!!Anne and Myles Brown
Old school vacuum shop with an owner whos personally involved in your satisfaction
I took in an under-warranty carpet extractor in August, 2015. The owner told me there were at least fifty ahead of me. Since certified dealers who could cover my repairs were limited, I left it with him. I called him every month, and he had not gotten around to it. He called me 10 MONTHS LATER to let me know that the machine was 1) no longer under warranty; 2) he did not want to repair it; 3) I should take it somewhere else.I dont care if he didnt want to be bothered with my machine; he could have been professional enough to point me in another direction (which hes trying to do now) and pass on the job. Now he has cost me a repair I was entitled to under warranty.
Do not take your vacuum here for repair....2 months later still no vacuum. I have 3 kids I cannot live without my vacuum! My vacuum was brand new out of the box and damaged but fixable, the manufacturer sent me to him to repair it. Every time I called to check the status of my repair I got the run around. 1st it was it should be completed in 2 weeks, then it will be finished next week. Then he was on vacation and then vacation again when I called after his initial vacation. I called the manufacturer to complain that their certified repair man was giving me the run around. They called Essex vacuum and come to find out HE NEVER ORDERED THE PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER! This guy was always rude to me when I called to inquire about the repair status. The manufacturer told me they are going to send me a new vacuum because of the inconvenience, laziness and unprofessionalism of Essex vacuum.
Great service thank goodness it still exists
Very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and good prices.
Very friendly and honest staff. Prices are very fair.
Brought the vacuum in wasn’t working right. They found I had sucked up a crayon. The gentleman pulled it out! NO CHARGE! I will be back when I need to!
Quick repair and vacuum is running like new.
Ken was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Service is great
