The gym equipment set up doesn’t make much sense. Looks cool but is not efficient for weight training. The workout mats are gross and falling apart. More therapeutic equipment like heavy duty resistance bands would be helpful. However all the staff members have been lovely so 10 out of 10 for the humans!

From indoor/pools to personal trainers, this gym had it all. It definitely has a high quality feel to it compared to other gyms. On first sign up we started with a free body scan and a free meeting with a personal trainer; The staff are so helpful and so accommodating!

Beautiful exterior, beautiful interior, beautiful people.I was visiting Salem yesterday and wanted to get a workout in for the day and opened my phone to discover this gym.Upon arrival, I was a little lackluster to see how small the gym as compared to other ones I have been to. Oh, how wrong was I to judge a book by its cover. The doors at the entrance into the building are freaking automatic. Some may say, Who cares? Well, I do! Because having those doors not only shows the level of quality of the gym but do you know how freaking inconvenient it is to hold the door open for people when enter or exiting a gym?Anyways, I was surprised to see how nice the person was behind the front desk. I never caught her name, but the customer service I received was 100x better than the people I have dealt with at 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University. The questions I had about the gym were answered kindly and I was even offered to be given a tour around the facility as well!The gym is huge. If you look at the photos I posted of the entrance, its a lot bigger than it looks in real life. Now, Im not going to be a fanboy and completely bias. The interior of the gym may be spacious and wide, the number of equipment and machines the gym had was disappointing considering the price that you pay for a membership is $62 a month. The weight room contains only two power racks that are also used for bench pressing as well. There are two more power racks, but they are in the personal trainer room and can only be used if there is no session in progress. The machines are fairly new, they use the same kind of machines that Planet Fitness uses. There is a decent amount of treadmills and stationary bikes in their own separate rooms, but not much more cardio machines when compared to commercial gyms like Planet Fitness and L.A. Fitness.The last part I want to mention is the community. The community is AMAZING. The employees and the members I have spoken to were are too friendly. I dont know if its because people in Salem are super nice or if its the vibe coming from the gym itself, but I was blown away. The niceness is on par with Planet Fitness and Hyatt Hotel gyms, and hundreds of miles beyond better than 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University.Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and workout at Courthouse Fitness and I would highly recommend all my friends and family to try it out.

First and foremost, this place is 100% COVID-19 safe. Everyone wears face coverings, including during vigorous exercise. All the staff are awesome, ultra clean facility, and fabulous pool. I couldnt be happier with Courthouse!! I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to work-out in a safe environment.

Thank you for standing up against the government for the fitness community. Sadly, while you they were trying to shut you down, they were trying to figure out how to open the borders during the middle of Covid-19. The government proved their politics is more important than the health and sanity of Americans.

When I signed up I was told if I signed up RIGHT NOW I would be just before the policy changed and would not be charged an annual fee, just my sign up fee and my monthly fee. This is why I signed up that day. Well one year later they charged me the annual fee. I spoke with the manager who (rudely) informed me that none of his employees could possibly have said that, they all know better so I made it up. He refused to do anything at all to make it right. Apparently when you run your card the first time and sign for it (like any other card transaction) they sneak terms and conditions in there. When this was brought to my attention I spoke with the manager about how there was nothing on screen or verbal informing me of this. The manger basically said that was not his problem then offered to start my 3/mo cancellation process. Basically, they proved to be dishonest and rude. I was a member for over a year, never missed a payment or did anything at all to prompt this rudeness. When I went to the manger I was polite and confident they would correct the issue and things would move on like normal.

This location has always been amazing and very kind. The manager was amazing and flexible. They have gone above and beyond during this time.

I’ve been a member for just over 2 years. I came to Lancaster Courthouse because I needed help, couldn’t progress on my own, had not been in a gym since the 80’s, and was hesitant. I didn’t expect the high a level of attention and professionalism. Assessments and adjustments to my training happen often. I like the trainers (Ryan, AJ, Rosie) knowing who I am and how to push me. I like the management (Phil) and staff greeting me when I walk in, encouraging me when I work, and helping me feel accomplished when I walk out. Phil (Mgr.) and Ryan (Head Trainer) have even given friendly personal challenges in my workouts to add motivation. I like feeling at home.

Very overpriced! Most expensive gym I’ve used. Classes are fun but times offered are for those who don’t work, not realistic for those of us who work. Pool at south river rd looks dirty all the time. I can get better quality machines for $10 a month anywhere else in Salem..

So expect this post to be updated! Beautiful facility. Lots of different weights to choose from. I have yet to have trouble finding an open machine. (I go in the early morning) you can always find a space to go workout away from people or stretch if you need it. I havent tried the personal trainers yet but I have seen some around and they seem positive and competent.I do wish they had an area of the gym dedicated to stretching. There are two rooms they hold classes in that you can take a yoga mat into and stretch out. But both of these are isolated rooms and they dont have mirrors or permanent mats out. It totally works and its not a big deal but it is one on the ONLY critiques I have.My only other critiques would be the music choice of the rooms. TO BE FAIR. I have not tried asking them to change it so its VERY possible they would change the station if asked. Plus most people wear headphones and probably would never even notice American Pie blaring through the weight room at 7:30AM.Another good thing about this gym is the pool. Its a great lap pool that always has a lane open. If your a swimmer no other gyms are going to beat Courthouse in this part of town. There is also a sizeable hot tub that I highly recommend.Overall great gym. Ill update you as changes are made to the club or if I try out any classes!Update!! I asked about the music today. The front desk said they had no control over the music but would ask for me. Ill update again soon!

Was a member of the club for years. Throughout the years the staff and facility became more and more of poor standard. Would recommend any other gym for the price and service.

Love new class at Lancaster on Wednesday nights, 6:30 PM called High Fitness. Its a High Intensity aerobics class. Tracy, the Instructor is super approachable and helpful; As is Leslie V. who substitutes. Exercise modifications included during the hour workout for most skillsets.

Pool is too warm, which is expected as it is used for water aerobics. However it is very rarely busy in the facilities and the exercise equipment is in amazing shape. Great staff, and you can always get the equipment you want.

Great staff and clean gym! You can see the staff cleaning the gym while you work out. It’s a much better change than from the gym I used to go to where you never saw the equipment cleaned even once and everything seemed to have a layer of grime on it.

Great place to go to do exactly what u are there for. not a million people sitting at machines just taking selfies.. trainers are awesome and motivating. amenities are worth every cent.

Predatory contracts, Bad customer service, over priced. They nickle and dime you wherever they can. Much better and cheaper options available, literally anywhere else. I would give a zero star review if I could.

Very nice; however, if you are wanting to use hot tub, it has only one jet per seat, and the chlorine is harsh on eyes (unless you are used to that type of water). Overall nice place to visit.

Courthouse Fitness Salem Oregon. I signed up on line to try this place out. 20 days for $20. I was supposed to receive an e-mail. That didnt happen. So I just went in to take a a dance class. Im sorry, we dont have Fitness Coaches here on Sunday to get you signed up. The best I can do is have you pay $10 for the class. Then you can come back during regular hours 8-8 when someone can help you. Is that all right? My reply, No, its not all right, And I wont be back

Some Staff can use some customer service training

A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Always clean both in and out of gym, equipment is always up-to-date and the water leaves your skin and face soft and gentle. Overall great place to let go of steam in a healthy way.

Great club. sometimes gets really busy & its hard to find parking. But the place is clean, classes are fun, & challenging! Great way to keep in shape!

I been going here for a year now and I cant tell you how many times I see the front exercise room rented out for parties or church. Its extremely irritating to NOT be able to use one of the rooms in the gym I pay an expensive monthly membership fee to use and am forced to workout with my second options as opposed to my preference. They say they are a lifestyle company but Im not sure how parties and church fit in to fittness. Im happy my year contract is up soon so I can finally consider other options. Hopefully the owners realize thay when people want to use rooms in the gym they should be able to unless a different fitness based exercise class is being offered.

Great clean club with good equipment and fitness classes.However, they nickle and dime you and are so unreasonable with their pricing and not flexible with their membership options to meet the needs of their customers. I inquired about a month-to-month membership as I plan on expanding my family in this next year and am uncertain of how often I will use my membership. My option was pay a ridiculous price for a month-to-month membership or commit to 2 years and then pay $15/month to put my membership on hold...really? I am paying you for nothing?! Its insulting to even offer this option. Their sales rep says to me, Well if you had to work out of town, you couldnt put your rent payment on hold for free. They really think very highly of themselves to even offer this ridiculous analogy (an apartment complex loses money by not collecting rent bc no one else can rent my apartment, Courthouse loses nothing by putting my membership on hold bc I am not taking up their resources).The Courthouse also participated in a Health Fair this year with the Salem Hospital - they offered demos of their exercise classes but charged around $5 to try them out. Let me get this straight....you want ME to PAY YOU so you can advertise your classes to ME in hopes Id join your gym? Who would ever pay for a commercial? The Courthouse needs to get a grip!I hope this made sense, I am just super disappointed in this gym. They put on a facade of being super invested in their members health & fitness when on the other hand they charge you an arm and a leg for everything. I understand its a business but try and be reasonable!

You pay 3 times more then any other gym and still have to pay a yearly fee... They have a tiny work out area. The whole center of it is for cross fit that goes on all day. So you get to work around them and against the walls as thats the only room available. The pool either has classes going or swim team 3 times a week. The 6 months i was working out here the suana was broken down for 4 months. So basicly you pay premium money for a small over crowded workout room, pool and sauna that you cant use, and workout equipment that looks to be bought when i was in middle school. Im 31 now. Save your money and time, go with a place thats 10 bucks a month and has nicer gear and better services all around.

The gym has gone way down since I joined a year ago. Many issues with the finance office when all I was trying to do was make sure they got paid, parties in the gym on weekends and outsiders walking around the facilities, racquet ball room used for storing party supplies, swim team training for kids, rate increases were only thing ever communicated, and I have to spend more time organizing the gym than working out because weights are never racked right! The club is somewhat nice and not overly packed but definitely dont get what I pay for I feel. If I wanted kids and strangers running around and disorganized equipment Id go to a ten dollar a month club. Now theyve shortened Friday hours to add an hour each night, even though members would love to see them open earlier and stay later or switch to a 24 hr system. Management has no concern for what their memebers are asking. More than likely ending membership once my year is up. The only saving grace has been my contract and the proximity to my home.
