After a few months of having the unit.Since having the new unit installed, we have had to have them come back out 3 times.1) Installation fell off the unit.2) Relief valve dumped into our garage and air conditioner stopped working - Told that the line wasnt blown when installed & blocked. * Note they came out that day we called. THANK YOU3) Today turned on the heat it doesnt work all red lights. Called and was told 2 weeks out to have someone come out.They called back and will come out next week, which works, because we really dont need heat at this point.Side-note - I sent picture in on a red light issue and was told it would be checked and never heard back.They are always friendly and try to be helpful. Not sure if we should be having issues with a brand new furnace, but maybe.At this point my four star review is more a 3.5 just for the fact they have to keep coming back out.Meltons HeatingNotesWe received four bids (out of 5 requests). However, they were not the cheapest. Brian was accommodating and the only company who did recommend two zones for our home, which research indicated we really needed.The GoodExcellent Communication (Brian was great to work with)Fair PriceOur house hasnt felt so even in temperature since we moved in.Installers were friendly and knowledgeable about installation.The BadClean-up afterward could be more detailed.Installers did not go over the details of the new equipment.It would have been nice to have the filters changed and exiting ductwork cleaned out.

Ramon arrived a few minutes after receiving phone call from office that he was on his way for my yearly servicing of furnace/air conditioner. He was thorough, professional. He put on shoe protectors when entering my home, to protect my carpets. . He wore a mask when interacting with me. Meltons provides very good service. I would highly recommend them.

We had recently purchased a new home that had no central air. The furnace was also about 15 years old so we decided to have it replaced as well.We got several different quotes but Meltons was the most competitive.Brian came out and let me know the process and sent me the estimate over right away. Once we decided to go with Meltons, Randy reached out and told me they could come out the next day to complete the install. The workers arrived at the exact time they had given and finished by 2pm. They were very professional and I appreciated that they cleaned up when they were finished. We are looking forward to having a cool house this summer!I recommend Meltons if you are in the Willamette Valley looking for HVAC systems!

The record high temperatures this last weekend made our A/C unit stop working. It’s an older unit and I was worried that it would need to be replaced. Randy spent a few minutes with me on the phone and told me how to troubleshoot the problem. Turns out it was a small part and they had one in stock. He even told how to swap it out. When it really is time to replace the unit, I know I will be calling Melton!

We needed to replace our 18 year old furnace, air conditioner, and whole house air cleaner. We have worked with Meltons in the past, in 2000, where they installed a Trane air conditioner in our previous home. After contacting them for a quote, they put me in touch with Randy Melton one of the owners. Randy came out, listened to us, made recommendations and worked with us on selecting the components we wanted and getting the best possible total system within our budget. The installation day, Michael and Keegan showed up on time and ready to work. I went out off and on to see how they were doing and they work together like a well oiled machine. Any rubbish they created was pretty much picked up before it hit the ground. The County came out to inspect their work and it passed inspection with flying colors. We are EXTREMELY pleased with our new system which included a new Ecobee smart thermostat with voice control (Alexa). Now if I can just get my husband to stop talking to her.

Had a 96%efficiency Ruud heating and AC system installed in the summer of 2019. It has worked great! And....during the heavy smoke of the wildfires, it filtered the air great inside of our home. You should see what the filter looks like after just 7 days!

Meltons replaced a 20 year old furnace and air conditioning unit with a new RUUD system. Service by everyone involved was outstanding. From the initial visit to look at our existing system through the follow up call to provide options I felt like Meltons had our best interests in mind. The technicians arrived on time to install the equipment and were very helpful and patient in explaining the system. Randy Melton even showed up during the installation to make sure everything was going smoothly. I couldnt be happier with the quality of service and product purchased.

We just purchased a home that had a 30 year old gas furnace in it. We wanted to upgrade the furnace and have an A/C unit installed. We reached out to several different companies for estimates and information. Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning was our top choice. The price and the workmanship were spot on for what we wanted done. We had an 8am appointment and the install team was done by 3:15pm. They removed the old gas furnace... Installed a new gas furnace... Cleaned 13 vents... And installed a new A/C Unit. The team at Meltons Heating and Air Conditioning came out to replace our furnace and A/C unit after discovering the heat exchanger was cracked in our old furnace. The crew arrived right at 8:30 am as promised and were ready to go. After explaining the process and going over the work order with me they set to task and got the work done fast.While the guys worked on the equipment Sheryl took to cleaning the ducting. Sheryl pointed out how dirty the ducts were and discussed the need for routine cleaning. All of the completed work was of the high quality and professional standards, my wife and I cant be more happy. Meltons will have all our routine maintenance in the future.

What an experience! From the time we had Jon Heyernann out to give us an estimate to when Mike, Jimmy and Cousin finished explaining all the great things about the Ductless heat pump, we are so very pleased. They cleaned up the dust and debris without another thought, but to leave the areas better than they found it. They were very professional and opened to answering all our questions. Last night (11/22/19) I arrived home to find that my thermostat went dark and I could not activate the heat pump. I contacted Meltons and was told a tech would call me the next morning.to schedule a time. Instead, the tech (Doug) called me just a few minutes later. He was most helpful in walking me through the steps to change the batteries in the thermostat - which solved the issue. He was very knowledgable, eager to help, and saved me the cost of a weekend service call. Kudos to Doug for great service.

We recently purchased our home that had a new furnace in it, never used. It was not efficient in the slightest without a heat pump so we called Meltons knowing they were great from previous experience with them at our rental. They quoted us for just a heat pump and also quoted a great deal for us to replace the furnace and get a matching heat pump together instead. This actually saved us a lot of money and got us to qualify for the rebate with Salem Electric by going with the package deal. Their bid was in the middle of the 3 bids we got, even when the others were just for a heat pump. Even though it cost just a little bit more to go with them, we knew we would be getting the best experience with Meltons. Highly recommend.

These guys are amazing!!! I will admit that I was hesitant to call them at first because they had less Stars than some of their competitors but went with them because their customer service was fantastic, they were reasonably-priced priced, and they made time for us in their schedule on very short notice which was greatly appreciated!Their service person Ramon was very down-to-earth, helpful, and courteous. Seriously give them a shot, they will not disappoint. I actually had to call them 2 weeks after their initial visit for something else and again they made time on very short notice for us.

From start to finish, a terrific experience! Salesperson was very knowledgeable and efficient. They had the best price for comparable equipment (Id gotten a total of 6 estimates from various highly-rated companies in Salem), and their certified operation meant I got a $1,000 rebate from Salem Electric - which was handled with them directly, so I didnt even have to wait to be reimbursed, I just paid the difference. Our furnace went out on us at the beginning of winter. We were without heat with two young children at home. We started working with another company who seemed really great at first, but when it was determined we had to replace our furnace, the first company gave us some estimates without asking what we wanted, and then disappeared when we asked them for other options. I decided to get a second quote, and Meltons came out same day. Once our financing was approved, they scheduled the install for the following day and got our heat up and running as quickly as possible! They let us know that we were a top priority since we had no heat with two children at home, and we felt like it! We also were lucky enough to qualify for a special they were running which included a free a/c unit with the purchase of the furnace. The whole experience was better than we could have expected, and they came highly recommended from our lender as well! Thank you Meltons for bringing our heat back!

Since then, we have had Meltons do our annual maintenance and a couple repairs. In each case, the technicians have been prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. They where quick to get out and get me a quote. There salesperson had done his research and was knowledgeable. Able to answer any question I had. From quote to fully installed furnace A/C, and gas water heater took less than 2 weeks and they blew the competition out of the water in price. I cannot more highly recommend a company if you need to upgrade or update an existing system. Please make sure and give them a call if you are upgrading! Or even just need your system worked on!!!

In February 2016 I requested a quote for a new heat pump and air handler. One day before installation, they quoted for a system for 1400sf, my house is 2000sf so the quote was wrong. They then tried to give me just a new heat pump and use the existing old air handler.The people installing did not have the correct circuits and it took 4 days and 5 phone calls to get them out to replace the circuit. They did ultimately give me a price reduction.Fast forward to October 2016, the heat pump stopped working over the weekend. When I called for service, they said they would charge me double time, so we had no heat all weekend. When they sent a technician on Monday, he was rude, condescending and told me I didnt know how to use a heat pump. One of the owners called back to belittle and harass me. Terrible process in every respect.

Ive been using Meltons since 2012 and have had nothing but positive experiences. Most recently, I had my furnace, AC and water heater replaced. Brian met me at my home and gave me a fair quote within 45 minutes. I had several follow-up questions and he promptly addressed them providing additional information and references. On the day of the installation, Martin and Devin arrived right on time and completed the replacement of the furnace, AC and water heater by mid-afternoon. The women who came out to inspect the old furnace claimed there wasnt a CO detector when it was hanging right in front of her face, then tried to use it as a scare tactic. We were renting so didnt matter to us. Then after they installed it, I smelled gas leaking out of the main gas inlet in the room it was installed in. They forgot to use compound to seal the pipe.

Two bad experiences.1 worker used bathroom. Toilet overflowed and did not tell us. A mess irresponsible of employee.2. Cut through live wire in attic while Installing air conditioner. Duplex was empty at time. New tenant reported outlet not working. We had electrician say today you left a live wire in attic from sawing or drilling and cut through live wire. Another irresponsible employee.We will not use Meltons again.

Had John from Melton’s out for an estimate on Friday July 19th, was told I would receive estimate by the following Monday or Tuesday via email.Tuesday the 23rd came around and no estimate. I called to follow up, maybe the email was wrong? Was sent to the estimator’s voicemail but didn’t leave a message since I was told the best way to contact him was by cell phone, but since I didn’t have the estimate, I didn’t have his cell at that time.Called again to get John, the estimator’s, cell number. Left a voicemail, no response back.The next day, Wednesday the 24th, I called Melton’s again to get John’s email. Sent him an email following up about the voicemail and getting the estimate. No response back.Called the office again on the 25th telling the front desk person I was still waiting on the estimate, she looked for it but couldn’t find it. She told me she would let him know that I called and have him get back to me.Today is Wednesday the 31st and I have not received the estimate, a phone call, nor an email back.I should not have to chase down this company to give them my business. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend Melton’s nor would I ever attempt to contact them for my future furnace needs.

Called out Meltons’s because A/C wasn’t cooling properly. Technician hooked up his gauges and said it was overcharged with Freon. He didn’t carry R22 so instead removed all the Freon and installed R427A. He ran more tests and system would still not cool down below 73 degrees. Technician scratched his head and stood around not knowing what else to do or tell me. I wasn’t charged for that service and was told the technician would get some better answers about this system and return in a few days. The technician didn’t call or show up until I called and complained the company who knew nothing of the previous visit or what had occurred...I called out another company and they went threw the system and said it was best to have Melton’s complete there work and were scratching their heads as to why the R22 Freon was removed in the first place. If the system was overcharged then you just remove the extra amount that was overcharged???Melton’s finally came back out a few weeks later and we still could not get the system to cool properly. They said the system was old and I need a complete new system. I ran this issue through my insurance and they sent out another company. Once they went threw the system they came to the conclusion that the work done by Melton’s was wrong. My system did not take the Freon they installed and most likely contaminated or damaged the compressor.... Also now my heat only works on emergency heat after all this that has happened.Melton’s response is that I need a new system and nothing they did was wrong...Melton’s came out on three visits and I was only charged once for the service call....seems odd to me because Freon isn’t free or cheap.Melton’s knows they ruined my system and is now not returning my calls or fixing the issue...DO NOT USE THIS INCOMPETENT COMPANY WHO ONLY WANTS TO SELL YOU A NEW COMPLETE SYSTEM INSTEAD OF DOING ANY REPAIRS...

We chose Meltons to do our yearly HVAC system maintenance because they had installed our system with the previous homeowners and our neighbor uses them. Ok, so second annual maintenance check, an individual at the company made a mistake. They were very quick to fix the issue and were honest about what had happened. It speaks to the integrity of the business that they were willing to do the right thing by us as customers. Contrary to other reviews, we felt they treated us fairly and were very transparent about the process.

Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning Service’s unreliable service, lack of accountability, and rude behavior has left us wondering how they can stay in business.We called them to find a slow leak in our air conditioning system. The tech quickly found it by the oil residue on the outdoor coil, but he then made the error of evacuating the system of the refrigerant to confirm the leak. I later learned from multiple other HVAC professionals that the leak could have easily been confirmed with a simple bubble test. After evacuating the system, the tech told me that he could not put the refrigerant back in the system because there was a known leak – Yet, Melton’s knew of the leak by the oil residue and from the purpose of our service call!When I had originally scheduled the appointment, the service manager confirmed that they would be able to replace the refrigerant if they needed to evacuate it, no matter where the leak was discovered. The service manager’s misinformation and the technician’s mistake rendered our entire system useless. We were in worse condition than before we called.They charged us $349 for that “service,” and they took our 11 lbs. of R-22 refrigerant (valued at $660) that we had just replaced the month before. We called and emailed multiple times, but Melton’s kept going back on their word to fix the situation. At first they offered to replace the outdoor part for $1500, but then emailed a quote for $2000; they said they would put our refrigerant back in for free, but later said we would have to pay for extra parts.We ended up choosing another company to replace our entire system. Melton’s had provided the initial installation of the air conditioning unit for our house and our new contractor noted many areas in which they had cut major corners. Melton’s had installed a wrong sized pipe, inappropriately installed the unit, and provided inadequate wiring for the system.Save yourself trouble and money -- avoid Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning Services!

Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning Installed our new Trane Heat Pump and Air conditioning unit as our old one had died. It took about a day and a half to take the old unit out and replace with the new one. There was a lot of work involved as our unit was located in a brick closet with little room to work. But Mike and Jarred went out of there way and made room for the new unit setting it back allowing us the ability to remove or service our water heater or heat exchanger, Where as before we had to remove the heat exchanger just to get to the water heater. They also relocated our new heat pump to the other side of our home, a much better location. So I will tell you we were extremely happy with their professionalism and they went out of there way to make sure everything was rite and done correctly. Brian our sales person came out to the house server times and explained everything from the unit specs to installation and also went over all the tax credits and rebates. Great job guys !!! Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning Has completed installing my new Trane Air conditioning and Heating system...It was an emergency the temperature outside was 30 degrees and our 10 year old heater stopped working...The Air Conditioner Stopped working in September so I thought I had plenty of time to replace the unit...I called Meltons Heating & Air Conditioning in Salem, and explained our situation...They came out immediately, we looked at my broken down old unit, and we talked...The next day in the freezing rain they completely replaced my broken unit with a new Trane and we were warm again...It was a very busy time for them but they understood we had No heat...The Team from Meltons team were so polite and understanding, they were neat, clean, and proficient in installing our unit... They truly understood our needed for heat quickly... I wanted a good quality and efficient unit...I love my new Trane system and it is keeping our home very comfortable and warm... So much better than our old system and much more efficient...

Not sure why this company has to be so rude!! I have a long story for you readers out there.My company moved into 2111 Front St in Salem in a small office in April of 2014. Before we moved in there, we knew there was a problem with the HVAC unit because no matter what we do, the system would not turn on. If it did turn on, no heat or coolant would come in, just a fan. Being a technology company with lots of electronics, this was a big deal. When contacting our property management company about it on May 1st, 2014, they said theyd send someone from Meltons out. Meltons came out 4 days later, and claimed there was something very wrong with the unit, and that he will have to speak with the building manager. He also would not tell me what was wrong. Evidently they had to order a part, so 3 weeks and we did not have any air conditioning, and since the building didnt have Windows, we baked. Temperatures as high as 90 when it was 70 outside. We went almost a whole month unable to do business. Finally they came out after several calls back and forth, and they fixed the issue.Their claim at the time for the delays was that they were very busy during that time because everyones getting their things fixed. While this was likely true, I guarantee you an expensive project like this would have been priority, especially since theyre good friends with SMI.So here we go in August of 2014, I ask about when and how we need to get the filters replaced in our unit. They informed me that they would come out in September and replace the filters, and that theyre 6 month filters, and dont need to be replaced any more often than that. When the guy comes out to replace the filter, he informed me that it was extremely filthy, and likely caused the break down back in April. He also informed me that the filter is only rated for 30 days, and should be replaced that often. Every time I call the front desk, they tell me its good for 6 months, and not 30 days. They come out in January of this year to replace the filter, and the tech informs me that again, its too dirty and needs to be replaced every 30 days, but the reason why its not is because SMI wont pay to do that. So here we go again now in May, Im asking SMI what we can do to get it replaced every 30 days. They informed me that if I buy the filters, they will have someone at Meltons install it. Given that this filter cant be purchased anywhere other than HVAC companies, Im stuck with buying it from an HVAC company. I called Meltons only to get the run around. First Im told its a Merv 11 filter and that its $12, then Im told that I have to speak with SMI about it because its not something they can do. I speak with SMI, and they clearly state that I need to speak with Meltons. I go back and forth, just to be told again that its SMIs problem, not Meltons. Yesterday I spoke with Richelle and had a great conversation about buying Filters. Not only did she change it from Merv 11 to Merv 8, but she also informed me that I can buy the filters from them. Since she was going onto lunch, I told her that I would be happy to call tomorrow (today) to further discuss different options. Today I called and spoke with her, not only did she raise her voice telling me that I need to speak with SMI, but she also told me that now SMI is having their maintenance guy replace the filters and to speak with them. She literally hung up on me! No joke, she just yelled SMI is having their maintenance people replace the filters, go talk to them, okay, bye. I do not appreciate being treated like this, and I will not be doing future business with this company. I also have the call recorded if anyone wants to hear it. I do not recommend doing business with this broken company that has no clue about customer service.

So if you want an estimate on your hvac make sure their the only ones you call cause they dont like competition. Refused to come to my house because I was having multiple quotes. Horrible business practice. Should have listened to others who said they were bad business...
