I recently had my chimney cleaned and inspected. Although the service person was friendly, there were a few things that were disappointing.1. The fireplace was cleaned well but the chimney was not. Upon opening the damper, a rather large soot cloud covered my new gas log set, hearth and rug. (Installed 2 days after cleaning.)2. The cleaning and inspection was far too quick to instill confidence that it was done properly, thoroughly or that I received a service worth $200. Rather than efficient, it felt rushed.3. When the service person was doing a verbal breakdown of their findings, it was rushed, a quick flip through iPhone pictures as he packed up. It very much felt rushed to get onto the next job. Again, they were polite but the interaction lacked high level customer service that I was told A1 offered.4. Please consider asking your service people to not wear cologne/perfume if theyre going to be in customers homes. As a chronic migraine sufferer, I did not have a pleasant day with my home filled with a strong cologne smell the morning of my service.Overall I was not satisfied with the quality or the value for the money.

EXCELLENT and PROFESSIONAL service! My Mom and I are so grateful and would not hesitate to contact A-1 Professional Home Services again. We notice again and again what a fantastic job Joel and Austin did. They are polite, kind and professional with an A+ rating. They cleaned our wood stove which needed work and brushed leaves out of our 2-story home gutters. They warned me when the job got dirty so I could go back into the house (I was actually enjoying watching them work.) They are obviously trained, experienced and technically incredible. Joel, the technician that serviced my chimney today, is a credit to his business. Prompt, professional, friendly, fast, easy to talk to, and attentive to detail, he was everything you could ask for in the service arena. The manager, Richard, was helpful, prompt an accommodating after my reservation was lost, and honored the quoted price of service and fit me into his tight schedule to make the service happen quickly. The CSRs working the phones need training in basic customer service, so try and look past that, because the part of the business that matters most, the actual service, was excellent.

Called and was able to get an appointment set up quickly during busy season. Joel came out and cleaned our chimney. Super professional and friendly! Found and repaired a crack too to make sure rain didnt leak through. Would absolutely call A1 again.

Great experience from the beginning to the end. Joel did the original inspection. There was a lot more damage to our fireplace than we knew when we bought our house. Joel explained all the options for repairs. We decided to go with a gas fireplace. Jeremy came to do the repairs & measurements. Martin was great on the phone & was a huge help on choosing the right fireplace and guiding me on getting the gas line ran & electrical done. He communicated with the plumber & electrician to insure everything was installed correctly. Jeremy & Joel both came to install the gas fireplace. This was our first time using A1 and we will be contacting them again if needed and will refer to friends. Jeremy provided our service today and was extremely professional, explained everything in detail, and cleaned up everything after he was done. We had basic chimney repairs done and our dryer vents cleaned and the cost was reasonable. We highly recommend A1 and Jeremy for any service that they provide.

The technician Joel called to let me know that hed be here in 20 minutes, and he was on time to the exact moment. He is a very well-mannered person, and I had to tell that how much I appreciate that in a young person. Hardworking, professional, polite, knowledgeable, neat, and clean.He inspected my fireplace, cleaned out the chimney pipe that had extensive creosote build up, and left absolutely no mess behind. He did a thorough inspection, and notified me of a couple issues that he could fix today, or, call later for help in repairing. He even emailed me pictures of places on the chimney that need to be re-sealed.I was extremely happy with the work done and with Joel himself, as a very polite and professional person.

I called A-1, because I have used them before. It had been a year since I moved into my current residence. I found out from the previous owner that gutters hadnt been cleaned in over a year. The technician did an excellent job of cleaning the gutters. He showed me both before and after pictures so I could see the difference.Yes. I would definitely use A-1 again.

This company is ripping off by overcharging people too much for a very cheap job. The technician used a very low quality regular vacuum cleaner and a brush that you can find in any house. He pointed out some tiny issues without giving me any further technical information because they want to charge you for every single issue. Just wear a pair of gloves and use your vacuum cleaner and dont let them in your house.

I just had my fireplace firebox repaired by one of the techs from this company. Joel showed up exactly when he said he was going to be here. Not only was he very professional with his explanation but the quality of the work he did was 💯 quality. Joel was in and out quickly and now I have my Saturday back.

Joel came out today and did our dryer vent and our chimney. He even showed us some pictures of the inside of the chimney showing any concerns he had. Quick and efficient services. He was super nice and helped us shift our dryer out as it was heavy as hell since its a stackable. I definitely suggest these guys. Both services for around $260 i think is amazing. Absolutely love their services! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the pricing wasn’t bad. They rescued a bird stuck in our chimney. A-1 Chimney also did a great job putting a screen on the cap, when birds started trying to make a nest in our chimney. My husband and I will continue to use their services, and recommend them to others!

I found from the selling point to the install point of my new gas fireplace and dryer vent cleaning, the staff was great. They kept me informed along the process of ordering to install. Though they had to come out a few times, I understood being in the service business myself. I would recommend them to all.I love my new gas fireplace, it works great.

A1 Chimney was a great company to work with from the first phone call. They were fast and efficient when making the appointment, prompt for the appointment time and worked quickly and CLEANLY when doing the actual chimney cleaning and inspection. I will continue to use A1 Chimney EVERY year. OH, and the young man that came to my home was friendly and businesslike.

So far, so good! A-1 Chimney cleaned my chimney in December right before Christmas. The man who came out, Justin, was very polite and knowledgeable. Justin inspected the top of the chimney first and even brought me pictures to show me some of the issues Im having at the top (primarily some wood damage). He brought a huge vacuum cleaner into the house, used a tarp, and vacuumed out the fireplace area. He pointed out a crack in the floor and the back of my chimney. I had known about this crack, but had been told previously that it would probably cost upwards of $300 to fix it. Justin suggested sealing it for $40. He told me that this is probably a temporary solution, but that it should last for a number of years since I rarely use my fireplace.Overall, Justin seemed honest, and didnt want to charge me for a lot of extra things that I could do myself, and left the place clean.My only complaint is that the fireplace is still smoking a little more than I would like. Im not sure why this is, and it may have nothing to do with A-1 Chimney.Full disclosure: A-1 Chimney has asked some of their customers to write reviews for compensation. However, they do not dictate whether these reviews need to be positive or negative. I dont blame them since reviews online help businesses, and sometimes negative reviews outweigh positive reviews simply because those of us with good experiences dont take the time to write about them. :-)

8am appointment. Technician called me at 7:56am to say on his way. 9:28 am he called again to say on his way. I called office at 10:30 am. They said they would find technician and that I was his first job of the day. Its 11:30 am no one came or called me back. Wasted my time. I called to have manager call me. Dispatcher Henry said Jasmine is manager. Manager never called me back. No one came. I called office and technician to cancel.

I called another company first and boy was I glad I got a second opinion from A1! The technician was very honest and friendly and did not over sell my on services. When I showed him the previous estimate that we had gotten he explained that none of the repairs that the other company had recommended were needed. I Highly recommend A1 for any of the services that they provide based on my experience.

They were on time, very responsive. They cleaned my dryer vent and fireplace/insert. They were proactive and gave me tips on how to avoid some issue. Very affordable. I would use them again the next time I need their services.

Although Angies List advertisement states cleaning is $169.99, when I contacted them and mentioned Angies List i was quoted $199.99. They did honor the $10 Senior Discount however. It was easy to schedule the chimney sweep and our best technician arrived on time and promptly began his work. He had no paperwork and provided a small i-pad for me to sign before beginning his task. The print on it was tiny and I was unable to read it but I signed what i thought was an authorization to begin work with some guarantee in case something went wrong. After he entered with all his equipment and before starting the job, I gave him the owners manual with diagrams and instructions about the stove. He spread out his dust cloth on top of the manual without even glancing inside it. As the price was more than I had expected, I had left the ash from one night in the stove, and the bin with a couple days ash as well. I left him to his task. He went out to his vehicle a couple times to get more equipment, but didnt say anything about any problems, or ask for assistance. After 2.5 hours he said Success and informed me he was done. By then it was dark. He showed me the stove. He told me that he had broken the bolt on the left side when unscrewing it and used glue instead.. Then he showed me that the dooor (which triggers the caltalytic System to engage) was not opening and closing easily. A heavy, cast iron object should be placed on the left side, he told me. i provided one and he said it wasnt heavy enough. He also informed me he hadnt looked at the top of the chimney because it was too tall. He informed me that it was only accessible by a lift. I was shocked but gave him payment. He departed. Next morning I was able to see where the top portion of the stove had broken. It was not only a broken screw but also the plate held down by the screw. It is offset by about 1/4 inch. I do not think a weight of any kind would be helpful at this point. Also, my chimney is easy to access by using my balcony, which is how other chimney cleaners successfully did. I have not used the stove since the cleaning, and have priced a new one at approximately $5,000. I spoke with the owner. The owner told me that his company’s insurance doesn’t cover using the balcony. In addition, he states the stove had “rust” on the screw which caused it to break and in order to clean the technician had to break the cover. I have inspected the unit myself (the owner wouldn’t come by) and there’s no “rust”. He is not interested in knowing what his employees are up to. If I had known what happened, I would have stopped the technician and not spent money to clean an unusable stove. The Fire door is extremely difficult to close when cold, and would be dangerous when hot.

Absolutely terrible! I rarely write reviews but this one deserved it. Chimney inspector somehow let himself into the house by himself and left before my broker could get there so he could explain his finding. The manager thinks the customer is always wrong. AVOID! AVOID! Also, my broker is ensuring that all Coldwell Bankers agents do not recommend this service to their clients. Good riddance.

I called to confirm my chimney and window cleaning appointment and was given the excuse that their computers crashed after a storm so they didnt know what appointments they had. If a company doesnt keep a back up on paper of their clients times and phone numbers in case of such situations, what kind of business are they. I would give them a big fat 0 for customer service!!!!!

This is a great company, Justin was on time, quick, and professional. Everything needed replacing and cleaning and when he finished everything was in great condition and immaculate. I can definitely recommend this company to a friend.

Would not recommend as they do not respect peoples time.I had scheduled a chimney inspection for Saturday 11/11/17. I got a call on Friday that they would need to reschedule for Monday 11/13/17 as theyre short an inspector(red flag #1). I agreed and was told they would be here between 8-11am on Monday and they would call prior to showing up to give me a 30 min notice. I got a call at 9:30am from their office saying the tech was on his way into the office to grab the truck then would be on the way and he should arrive around 10am. Im at the home by 10, and at around 10:25 the tech calls me to tell me hes running late and should arrive according to his gps in 35-45mins(red flag #2). I said okay and waited around. So at 11:20am I call as its been 50 mins, the office advises me hes still at his previous job but should be able to get to me around noon(red flag #3). I told them it was unacceptable and they offered me a $20 discount for the inconvenience which I declined.They need to get their scheduling together and stop lying to customers. I would never use this company again. Dont tell me youll be here at a certain time then call after that time passes to tell me youll be late and dont tell me you are on the way according to your gps when you are still at your previous job.

Horrible Workmanship!!! they used clear silicon to repair/sealed cracks on the exterior stack, and they charged me $200. yep, $200 to apply clear silicon. job was done on 11/18/2015.
