Tried to BRIBE us to give them a five star review on here for a 5$ discount on our months rent. (I can provide the email for proof) Lazy company that doesnt want to improve. Never got our deposit back and only after months of calling did they finally tell us they used it to clean the place after we left. They never cleaned it before the tenants before us moved out so we moved into a rundown state of a house.

I have read all of these reviews and my experience with Corey has been amazing thus far. As a property manager, from time to time they must have to deal with a lot of disgruntled tenants. Many people take the time to write a bad review, and more should take the time to write good ones. I am a happy client, and would recommend them to anyone!

My wife and I tried to get in touch with someone about viewing a Martin Presence property in Monroe, Louisiana. When we finally did get in touch with someone, we were told we would have to pay a $25 fee just to VIEW a property. Not to apply, but to VIEW. I tried to clarify this with someone there, and was again told this was the policy. On our third attempt, we were told someone would call us back--they never did. Martin Presence is either a scam, or a very poorly run business. Either way, I wouldnt want to rent from them or let them manage my property.

I called and emailed on a Friday at 2:00 PM with no reply, so I called the next Monday morning with no reply and finally Monday afternoon they contacted me and told me I needed to fill out an application to view the house. I asked if we could view it Monday and she said no, I said the next best time for me would be Friday, but I could miss class to view the home during the week. She insisted that Friday was fine and that there was no rush. Friday at noon she canceled my 1:30 appointment for another appointment but told me where the key was. I checked the house out and decided I would like to sign the lease papers at 2:00 and when I told her I was ready to lease the property she said that she literally just had someone sign the lease on the house during the time I had my appointment set. Any company that would do this is not trustworthy enough for me to rent from.

I went to A Team Realty to view a rental house on Monday morning. I was unable to view the house because of the tenants still living in the house. Because of my busy schedule during the week, the only available time I had to look at the house was Friday afternoon. On Friday I received a call confirming my appointment, I accepted. However, not long after I was told I had to stay at work an hour longer than planned. I called to change my time for THIRTY minutes after the time I originally scheduled. The first phone call I received asked me to reschedule for the following week. I calmly explained to her that I scheduled this appointment Monday for Friday because that was the ONLY day I had free, and I would not know my complete schedule for the following week until Sunday night. She called me back telling me the agent could meet me at the time convenient for me, but I HAD to be there ON TIME because she would NOT wait on me. At this point, I realized that this company does not care about their tenants. I told her that if they were going to make that big of a deal of me changing my appointment to thirty minutes later and that the agent wouldnt wait on me if I wasnt there right on time, that I would rent from someone that could better work with their tenants. I was very disappointed in the way the secretary addressed me. She didnt even take down my name and couldnt address me when she called back- she had to ask if she had just talked to me on the phone. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Avoid this company at all cost if you can. They dont call you back when they say they will. Customer service is a joke. Your landlord contact Sara will never do anything for you in any shape or form. Honestly I am surprised at how this company is still in business, but I guess its because its a college town and there isnt much competition. If you are an owner I would look for other rental services for your house. If you are a renter, I would advise other options before turning to them.

My husband found this company on Google and at the time sounded pretty good to work with. We moved out of state for his job and rented our house out since we didn’t know how long we would be gone. There was always an issue with something. We left a few things like a light extension pole and tall ladder among a few other things in case they were needed and Martin Presence told us they had to go and put them in their storage. Our tenant was supposedly given our neighborhood restrictions on numerous occasions after weekly complaints about the yard and parking violations. Corey said he had given her the documents several times and she said she never received them. In our contract and verbally verifying, it stated that any damage to our house would be covered by them and if any work order was put in they would have someone fix it and if it required more than they would let us know. I had a plumber fix a sink 2 months before we moved and they had a plumber fix the sink a month after the tenant moved in. We never got a call and when our deposit was short we found out we were charged $100 for a $10 part. Our tenant had been complained about the refrigerator that is only 3 years old and it took them 5 weeks to have someone to fix it which cost us around $100 for a $25 part which we’ve already had replaced. The tenant complained about the AC going out in the summer, which she actually starting texting me about. I told her I’d have my brother come look at it which he does for a living and she said no. I told Corey we aren’t responsible if any bill if anything is done since I offered my brother. In December, we decided to list our house for sale with her staying until Feb. Their realtor went to get pictures of the house and the tenant up and moved without notice. Our house was finally listed at the beginning of January and our neighbor called our house was flooding. We drove back to our house the next day from Utah and came home to 12k worth of damage on their behalf, we didn’t have the deposit we were owed from the tenant for breaking lease, and no keys for 9 days. Meanwhile, we had the house listed for sale while trying to have everything repaired and people driving by. When we FINALLY got our $1,500 deposit we had $400 taken out for carpets cleaning that I know was never done and never got a receipt for among a few other things the realtor wanted done. The tenant painted 2 bedrooms which we did not give permission for, stole 2 fire detectors, had 1 working light in the ceiling in 1 of 6 rooms and broken garage door. Basically on top of the $12k in damage we had to spend around $1,500 on replacing garage door and repainting and replacing things done by tenant that should have been covered by contract with Martin Presence. Corey told us they were involved in several lawsuits already and at the time all of this happened, we couldn’t find an attorney to take the case since we were out of state. Since this has happened, the tenant and I agree on one thing- this company is scum. Do not use them!!! I wish I could post pictures to this post to show the condition before and after moving.

Tried to work with them to rent a property and experienced lousy customer service repeatedly, from phone calls not being returned to scheduling a tour and then not giving it... did not feel like a valued customer at all

Id never rent from them again unless its a last resort. They dont take care of there properties like they should and I know they got a under the table deal with meauxs plumbing. They charge the owner 150 ever time they come out and I sware ever time they came out another problem arose. We first moved into a house that had not been taken care of, we had to clean up the whole house and the yard was a mess to say the least. They try and say they have a cleaning fee after you move out. I know they pocket it because both properties were in nasty to say the least. The first house had been up for sale for a year then we moved in for 2 months then they sold the house. It wasnt a problem because we knew it it was for sale from the jump. But the second house we had set up a move in date and the day before we moved in I went to do a walk through and I couldnt believe it. It smelt like rat ruin, had rat fecies in cabnets in childs rooms. I called the agent and she said we rushed the move in and was not the truth; I asked if she did a walk through before renting it to us and she couldnt give me a answer. She said that the property wasnt vacant for long witch was a lie. We moved in May and the windows still had fake snow on the windows. Plus I asked the neighbors and they said its been vacant since December of the last year. The thing was they had water leak issues and the neighbors havent had water for like 5 months. The only plus I can say is when the ac unit went out in the summer they were right on it. I would of never wrote this review if it wasnt for them playing games with my deposit. When we first moved in they got Stanley steamers to come out; and clean the filthy carpet because we have two young kids and I wouldnt allow them to move in such filth. Now they charged us $185 out my $800 deposit because they didnt want to do what was right from the jump. If I had a property I would allow them manage it because all they care about it what they are gonna make and not customer oriented like a good business should. But I guess thats how people are when all they care about is the bottom line. So people just dont let them take advantage of you like they tried to do to me.
