Dr Rice is great. I moved to Ohio in 2020, I drove back to to Michigan to see Dr.Rice because she is an excellent dentist. I highly recommend.

I had an amazing experience. The staff was so kind and made me feel like family. I definitely feel like Dr. Rice has my best interest in mind when she cares for me.

I absolutely love this Dental Works..I was in the market for a new dentist..searched around stumbled upon dental works and made an appointment..the process was smooth..been coming ever since...the whole atmosphere is welcoming. Dr. Rice is the truth! She knows her stuff and she gone get you together. I love my dental hygienist she is great and she gets my teeth together 💯 . I’m irritated I can’t remember her name right now because she definitely deserves a shout out..but thank you for being thorough and knowledgeable every time I have a question. If your looking for a new dentist definitely check them out.

Visited Dr. Rice and her fantastic assistant May today. It’s was an emergency visit. Although I was in a lot of pain - May was very comforting and nice to me throughout the whole process. I feel like she really understands customer service and is also sympathetic to help how people feel! I thank the managers at dental works for hiring such a GREAT employee!!Also, Dr. Rice was very quick to identify what was wrong with my tooth and provided an appropriate resolution.Great staff and experience overall! :)

I tend to panic just thinking about going to the dentist and Dr Rice and her entire team have made me feel so comfortable its pretty amazing. The office is immaculate, the staff are well trained to protect you and protect themselves, gentle, gentle, gentle but probably most important for me is that they work with your insurance and are ready to discuss all options to create an effective treatment plan. I dont use 5 star very often but dental works gets one.

During a filling, the dentist and hygienist pulled on my jaw so hard that it sprained my jaw. I havent been able to open my jaw enough to eat solid food for 3 days.At my initial appointment, they diagnosed that I needed a crown. Weeks later (only after I asked why they werent doing a root canal) they said they cant help me, and referred me elsewhere. I could have scheduled elsewhere and had the issue fixed by now! And, if they had gone ahead with the crown as planned, it would have caused me more pain. Im glad I spoke up, but dont understand how they misdiagnosed the issue to begin with.I am not satisfied with my care, and I will not return.

Employees were knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. Went in for a deep cleaning and was surprised it didn’t hurt during or after. I highly recommend having dental work completed at the Royal Oak location. Thanks to all the staff!

Do not recommend, this business is extremely shady. I had an appointment scheduled for this afternoon, and received a reminder this morning about it. When I got to the office for my appointment, they were closed. Door was locked, and no one was answering the phone. I double checked the address on the reminder and the date/time, and all of it was correct. They simply no showed me without notice. I dont know what happened, but I certainly will not be contacting this office ever again and want to make sure others are aware as well.

Great experience! Everyone in the office is so friendly and kind. I went first for a cleaning and returned a few weeks after for a couple fillings. Everyone remembered me which made me feel like I wasnt just another face coming through. I have terrible anxiety and Dr. Rice took extra time to make sure everything was done properly to keep me calm and comfortable. I am glad to have a dentist office I feel very comfortable returning to.

Dr. Rice and her entire staff, are at their pinnacle of their expertise. This is what most would expect from their dentist. If your looking for an exceptional experience, and want to feel like a personal friend is taking care of you, run, don’t walk, to their door. Dr. Rice and her “sidekick” May has not only literally, rebuilt my bite (jaw alignment, implants, etc.), but has went FAR out of their way to accommodate last minute emergencies, insuring that my smile was exceptional for my son’s wedding. Been here for a long time service is great. I was billed full amount and insurance was billed as well. Owed refund and been waiting months try to get my money back. First said they issued refund to my card now over 2 weeks later they are sending me check. After the horrible billing experience and I finish caps Ive been waiting for since Dec 3 appointment Ill be seeking new dentist. Glad I caught the billing mistake after several calls finally got someone to look into it but still waiting.

My experiences at DentalWorks in Royal Oak are always great. The staff are very helpful and friendly, I get my appointment done in a timely manner, and everything is clean. No complaints from me!

Everything was excellent when Dr. Lightsey was my dentist, after that it was the worst, I was found a bunch of cavities and once that I got them fixed they found more. Besides there was an issue with the insurance that in that time went through and then I received a bill after three months. There was never a follow up of our calls regarding the invoice.

Worst experience ever!came for a crown on front tooth!they wanted to do a panoramic tray which is upwards from150.00.which I refused!dr.rice wasnt having it!so I left😐the staff all starred me down like I had a 3rd eye!!!!

My insurance company sent me to this place I scheduled a cleaning and a few other cavities and procedures to be done beforehand. I called ahead of time to make sure that they could do all of this and they told me yes. Once I arrived they took 18 X-rays of my face which Im not sure is standard they said that theres not much radiation so I shouldnt worry. And then told me that they cannot do the cleaning because the procedure I was having done cannot be done the same day as a cleaning. I told them that I scheduled the cleaning and I was told over the phone it could all be done called multiple occasions to verify beforehand. After the dentist came and looked at my teeth the assistant came back to schedule the procedure for a later date. I said why would you schedule for a later date Im here for that now so basically you guys arent doing anything just looking and Im leaving? Well then they replied they will see if the dentist is comfortable with the procedure. Dentist comfortable? What about me my comfort? Im the one having the procedure done on me I thought? All in all it was a very odd experience I had one tooth pulled and it took in total nearly five hours I dont recommend this place. Ill be looking for a new dentist I just feel that they should be more concerned with how I felt while I was there and much more clear law scheduling appointments and procedures. Any place that tells me a dentist may not be comfortable whats the procedure is somewhat concerning

Everyone at the office was friendly, thorough, and efficient. My exam showed I needed a comprehensive treatment plan, and they were able to get started on it right away - after taking the time to discuss my options with me and answer my questions. They were also very attentive and engaging with my 6-year-old, who had a check-up and cleaning at the same time. His questions were answered in a kind and age-appropriate manner. He was happy throughout the visit. Im very pleased with my experience.

I had severe pain from a root canal that needed to be done ASAP. Dr.Rice & the entire staff took such good care of me and went above and beyond to get me seen quickly and found an Endodontist that could perform the root canal right away. I was and am so grateful!

Dental assistant was great but the dentist was rude with no bed side manner. I will not be returning. I had an appointment for crown and cleaning. I took a half day from work and they took plenty on X-rays then told me they could not do any services that day and it was only a consultation.This is not what we discussed over the phone and the dentist was extremely rude.

The staff was so pleasant and patient. They make you feel welcome the moment you step in their establishment. The establishment was immaculate all the way through with the latest technology. Dental Works was recommended by a co- worker. I sent my 21 yr old daughter there and she raved about it. I told her to make me an appointment before she left. I was not disappointed.

I originally gave this place a great review, but the work wasnt finished, and it never got finished. What did get finished was me getting run around for months and lied to by all staff. Im too angry to write all details but save some money and headache by not going to this place. What a nightmare. Now to find a better dentist to clean up the mess I paid for them to make. Ugh.

I love this place. I have had two crowns, a root canal and several fillings over the last two years and I am not broke. Everyone has been very helpful, efficient and friendly.

Scheduled a new patient exam and called to double check that this included a cleaning and was assured it did. After over an hour into the appointment I asked if I would be receiving a cleaning and was told they like to “build a relationship” which is awesome but I needed a cleaning and spent an hour and a half here and never got one.

It was painless and my teeth feel great. I was seen right on time and the staff at the desk were friendly and efficient.

On December 10th I had my initial evaluation and x-rays. I told the technician that I only wanted the x-rays that were covered by my insurance. She told me that there were a few that werent covered, but the dentist needed them all for the evaluation so they wouldnt charge me. Then after the evaluation I asked the office manager if there would be any charge for my cleaning and she looked up my account and said my insurance would cover it.On the day of my cleaning a few weeks later (probably the best cleaning Ive ever had) I went to check out and was told I owed a balance because I had a deep cleaning. No one mentioned that there was more than one type of cleaning and the previous receptionist told me it would be covered, so I was confused.Two weeks later I have now received a bill for the deep cleaning as well as the x-rays I was told would also be covered.Upfront pricing and transparency should be a standard practice, but somehow its not at this office.

No happy with the dentist and how I was treated. I never complained there and paid cash to get new dentures made. They took twice as long to make then I was told. A tooth feel out already and the dentist would not see me. Im really shocked how bad they where to me and I never did anything. I just wanted my teeth to look and feel nice. If you are looking to start going here please think twice. I cant get a hold of any one to make a Formal complaint. This is the only place I can post anything. I did my homework before I started and thought I would give them a chance I wish I did not .

I had to have a molar pulled that was and had been, for sometime, causing me a lot of pain. Thanks to this office of super kind women, a situation that most people would anticipate to be a horrible experience, was just not the case! These ladies are all very kind, non-judgemental, intelligent and capable women who are all outstanding communicators! Thank you ladies for taking such good care of me while my Northville office was closed because of the pandemic. You are all truly appreciated by me and my family!❤️

I was so grateful the place was open and they set me up for an appointment as quickly as they did. The staff was friendly and they kept wiping down equipment.

Very kind and straightforward. I appreciated that they gave me a copy of the price printout and didnt overly pressure me to choose any particular treatment.

I love my hygienist and the dentist seems great so far - there has been some turnover there but she seems quite competent and reversed an earlier decision on needed crown so I am happy about that. Overall very pleased! Always very accommodating with schedule requests.

So far.... Everyone has been so extremely nice and helpful. Taking time to thoroughly explained everything from the dental plan to financially. Making sure we are completely at ease before letting us leave.Look forward to working with you all.

5/5 Teeth did not fall out. Dental hygienist was super nice, very professional and didnt even make me cry.Minimally harrassed me about not flossing, but everyone needs to floss more so do your part before your teeth rot.

I found DentalWorjs totally by accident and Im so glad I found a Dentist that Im completely comfortable with. She always makes sure that my procedures are pain free, explains everything shes doing or going to do. The staff are always up beat and friendly. Walked in at 2:30pm on Friday with an emergency. Woman behind the counter said they were on there last patient and were going to close soon. Business hours state open until 5:30pm on Friday. Wouldnt even take my name or check insurance. I left in severe pain and found a very nice place down the street. They obviously dont need the business so my advice is to go elsewhere.

They havent responded to any of my calls to reschedule my cleaning appointment nor have responded via their messaging system on their website. My cleaning was supposed to be 3 weeks ago and they cancelled it at random

They started off good when the was located in sears at Oakland mall. When they moved to the location in Royal Oak things started go down hill. They have new dentist, They missing up then want to charge you for they negligence and they blame the issues on the patient so you have to keep being charged for the same fix over and over again. I recommend people to go to the school of dental they are student, they are patient and over all do a good job. I will never come here again. And dont believe some of these fake reviews. They putting on here.

I had an appointment scheduled for Monday, March 12th at 6pm. The confirmation text tried to confirm an appointment for 4pm on that day so I called to see what happened and they said they close at 6pm so it wasn’t possible that I had an appointment for 6pm. After the call, I looked at their website and it said they close at 8pm on Monday. It was a frustrating exchange to have an appointment changed without notification and then to have conflicting information about their hours of operation.In the end, I was able to change my appointment to a few days later for 5pm so it wasn’t a huge issue. The actual dental appointment was great, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

The staff is wonderful. I came in for a root canal, they took my blood pressure and it was very high. I went to urgent care and now I am on blood pressure medicine. Thanks to them I found out I have high blood pressure. They are very nice and I would recommend this office to anyone. I will be returning for my root canal as soon as I get my blood pressure back to normal.

Took my daughter here. The orthodontist did half of his job half the time. Hed tell her to come back next month to do the other half then he wouldnt be there. Her wires were popping. He was always rescheduling her appointments. Total hack office. Go see a real orthodontist. Id drop this place like a bad habit if I wasnt locked into a contract.

I hate dentists but my friend Tiffany referred me to Dr. Lightsey he was awesome in and out in 45 mins or less for a surgical extraction. From the Receptionist to assistant i have zero complaints and Im a a*****e so i myself would highly recommend Dental works in Royal Oak.

When a large ceramic onlay done by another dentist 15 years ago began to crumble I began looking for a new dentist. I was a little skeptical when I came across so many 5-star reviews for Dr. Lightsey in Royal Oak. Could a dentist really be as good as all the glowing 5-star reviews on Google? Turns out, he is! His assistant took two x-rays. The doctor took a look, then took a picture of the tooth and put it on a screen for me to see. There were multiple hairline cracks. I was worried Id need a root canal. He didnt think that would be necessary. And it wasnt. Id has a couple of crown installed by other dentists and told Dr. Lightsey that the worst part was taking the impressions...which seem to take forever. He told me that the first impression would take about 90 seconds...and the second impression would take about 4 minutes. That, I could handle. What most impressed me was how well the temporary crown fit. It felt just like natural tooth. Ditto for the permanent crown which was installed a couple days ago. One more thing: Whereas too many dentists are hard sell, trying to schedule you for a series of visits, the DentalWorks staff, asks if youd like to schedule a more comprehensive exam, but there is no pressure to do so. So, I will add my 5-star review to all the others. Dr. Lightsey is a terrific dentist!

Today I had a retainer check, which takes less than five minutes. I had to sit in the waiting room for a half hour before I was called in, and I was on time for my appointment. Once I was called in I had to wait another half hour only for the doctor to come in, ask me a few questions, and send me on my way.The actual appointment barely lasted a minute.

The staff & dentist are very friendly as well as accommodating i.e. No billing issues.. Did I mention they give pain free service?

I have been visiting Dental Works in Troy since January 2017. Always greeted with a great genuine smile. The staff bring you right to the back when you check in. They have a unique blend of being highly professional, along with kindness and consideration. Dr. Kishawn O Kole-James is GREAT. I wouldnt trade my Ortho dentist for anyone else. He cares about his patients questions & concerns. HE LISTENS which is very important in my book. I would highly recommend going to Dental Works in Troy, MI.

Honestly when I first started coming to dental works they were a 5 star dentist office to me. I was a patient of Dr. Khan and she was absolutely amazing. I dont know what happened that caused her to leave but its super unfortunate that they lost such wonderful and gentle dentist. I had one appointment for cleaning after Khan left, which the hygienist i had which was the one i always had is amazing, I dont remember her name unfortunately but shes super gentle and if you have any sensitivity she will numb you a little so she can make sure she still does a great job! After my cleaning I met the new doctor.. Lightsy or however his name is spelt, he was okay... but he required a lot of things out of no where. He put me on a medicated tooth paste which fine whatever. He wants me to get all my wisdom teeth out, which they are not currently posing any problems for me so Im good unless that happens but i probably wont be going to his recommended doctor. What the girl at the front of the office (it wasnt Taylor shes amazing) failed to mention to me was that Lightsy was not accepted by my insurance so instead of informing me, I was ended up getting charged 50 dollars for him seeing me. wow thanks, that would have been nice to know. Needless to say I will no longer be a returning customer of Dental Works. If i knew where Khan had switched to id probably switch to her but there was no informing me of her leaving and being forced to see lightsy. The ONLY reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 was because my past visits there were really good but that was ONLY because of Dr. Khan.
