WAY overpriced for an oil change. By the end of it they had tacked on so many extra fees. I used to come here a few years ago and they seemed very honest. Now I left feeling like I got taken advantage of. I wont go back. $150 for a synthetic oil change?Service was quick and the guys were pretty nice but it is just a scam.

In business I always found its better to gain a long term customer rather than a one time score. Our new shop is right down the street so I sent an employee over to get an oil change in one our new service vans. He came back with a bill over $300. When I called to try and straighten it out with the manager he started yelling and said that there are cameras of the employee signing the paperwork. The employee had my charge card with my name on it and was not authorized for all of these additional services. Thankfully American Express will have this charge taken off. This place could have earned our business for all of our service vehicles but I will never go there again or recommend them obviously. I will just go out of my way to the Pennzoil in Rochester where I get it done for $50 for each Van.

Fast effective and efficient service. My oil change was done in about 10-15 minutes. When I go to have my car serviced with Toyota even when I have a scheduled appointment I sit there wasting unnecessary time.These guys check everything out and recommend a few services I’m coming back for on pay day. Abe was awesome and will for sure have my business from now on.

Truth be told you maybe able to get a cheaper oil change but you pay for quality. The staffs prompt service and good nature make it worth while No shady bait and switch They are honest and straightforward in your cars needs. Quality people bringing excellent service. Royal oak has a gem here.

NOT A WOMAN-FRIENDLY BUSINESS. Ladies, go to the Pennzoil down the street, they will give you a fair price and won’t lie to you. This is one of the places that will try to sell you things you don’t need, particularly if you’re a woman. They wanted nearly $100 for mine and told me I needed services that I obviously didn’t need. I left and went to Pennzoil and paid $65 like usual. Don’t go to business that allow this behavior, it’s not 1950.

They tried to charge me over $150 for an oil change on a 2015 Passat, which needs synthetic. I tried to leave and they lowered it to $125 by taking off some “skid plate removal” fee they tried to tack on. I only went through with it because I was in a hurry but I know I got hosed. Will not be returning.

Recently took my Camaro in for an oil change. I was short on time and am so glad I was able to get in and out. Ryan and Eric at this particular location were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful. They explained things and answered all my questions. I had a great experience with this oil change and would recommend this location to anyone. Keep up the GREAT WORK GUYS. Quoted me 69.99, tried to upcharge me to 79.99 for a higher end oil (same weight and both full synthetic) then once I was in the bay with the oil change underway, told me that there would be extra charges for removing a skid plate and using a synthetic filter (falsely implying that this was necessary for synthetic oil). Then they tried to sell me a oil system cleaning asserting that it was necessary as there was sludge built up (showed me something on the dipstick, which appeared to me to be ordinary used oil). They claimed that while it would appear clean after the change, it would reappear sludge on the dipstick once the car reached operating temperature. I checked this before posting this review, and the dipstick appears totally clean a day later (see attached).

Service was quick and efficient. Only downside is that they dont accept Mobil cards. This wasnt a huge inconvenience to me, but can be if people arent familiar with this place.

I will not go here again. Ill order the red flags chronologically from what I noticed.1. Everyone that you interact with doesnt wear a mask(Covid).2. They use the usual oil change tactic of trying to sell you things you dont need. For me, it was a bad air filter, bad windshield wipers, and they wanted to do an engine flush.3. (The thing that made me angry enough to post a review) Theyll throw in charges to misdirect you how much an oil change costs. They initially quoted me $60 for a synthetic blend which is typical for any oil shop Ive been to. After I agreed(and they started the oil change), they added a $10 fee for a Skidplate removal which is the protective plate you need to remove before getting to the oil pan. They also added a $5 environmental fee to dispose of the old oil. Theyll tell you that youll get these charges anywhere but Ill assure you this is the first time Ive seen such charges. Every other place has included disposal and tasks required in order to change the oil priced into their quote.4. This is more specific to Ford vehicles which do not use mobil specific oil. Most oil shops will have a dispensary that will precisely put the 5 quarts of oil in your vehicle. These guys had used a funnel with an unmarked plastic can of oil where they ballparked 5 quarts they poured into my car. I did not see how they filled up this can so they could have taken a 5 quart bottle, poured it into a 5 quart plastic can, and then poured it into my car.

I don’t usually leave reviews but Love these guys! Always make me feel welcome and I love joking around with them! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe, fun environment with excellent work done! The only thing I don’t like is I didn’t find them sooner!

These guys are the best in town. Fast, friendly, quality service. Maybe not the cheapest but the old adage “you get what you pay for” comes to mind. I can’t recommend this place enough.

They charged me $75 for mobil full syntactic 0w-20 high millage oil. you can buy same oil at Walmart for $24 and take to your local auto repair shop they will change you $15-$20.

I just got back from my oil change and the Techs there were excellent and very knowledgeable. They explained everything they were doing and gave me great recommendations on work I needed done now and what could wait. I will be going back here for future oil changes and other routine service.

UPDATE:Dealership said problem was related to the oil change. Vacuum hose was pinched and disconnected. That doesn’t just happen. Took the print out to show Sam at the oil change place for him to see and discuss reimbursement for their mishap and got nowhere. He took no ownership for the possibility of his staff making an error. Instead he threatened me with contacting his lawyer. So I guess that’s the next step to resolving this. I welcome it.ORIGINAL:NEVER AGAIN!!!! Messed up my car terribly during what should’ve been a routine oil change. They didn’t have the oil my car (BMW X3) normally takes even though I called ahead and gave them the year, make and model (my 1st mistake). Assured me the one they recommended would be just fine. Then during the process asked me for the owner’s manual. I was concerned, but complied since they had already started (my 2nd mistake). They did finally get it done and tried to sell me some extras (I didn’t fall for). Not even 5 minutes after leaving the car started accelerating weirdly and the warning sign came up on the dash. I went back and they assured me it wasn’t anything they did, but to come back in a couple hours for the owner to look at it. The owner said it wasn’t anything to do with the oil change and that he consulted with the BMW service center in Troy and said I should go there. THERE IS NO BMW SERVICE CENTER IN TROY!!! LIES!!! I should’ve ran away when I 1st saw the signs.

The technician that was also working on my car was great ! Love this place. I will never go to this place again. They tried to tell you everything on your car needs to be replaced or changed. They kindly suggested that I need to use the most expensive motor oil. I appreciate that! I know the more expensive, the better. But I don’t need that for my old car.

Spoke with Ryan today during my oil change. He is extremely knowledgeable and super helpful. I have had numerous options for cleaning my engine with additives and flushes, while describing with first hand experience how they have helped on his personal vehicles. This show is very helpful and willing to work with you on almost everything.

My experience at Mobil 1 has been nothing but great every time I go. Ryan, the manager, exceeded my expectations by going out of his way to find a part for my jeep. He went through two different vendors and had the part delivered and installed the same day. This is not just a oil change stop but a reference for all car needs. I have a 2001 Ford Mustang, and visited Eric and Ryan at Mobil 1 Lube Express on Rochester Road during a very busy lunch hour. They got me right in and I was extremely pleased. Very impressed with their knowledge base and their expertise with every vehicle that came through that day. They are friendly, professional, and got me in and out while advising me of things to take care of in the future.

Professional, clean, fast and very helpful! I was confidant that the oil change and service I got was of the best quality. And the Mobil 1 staff member that helped me went out of his way to explain costs and services to me so I didnt do anything to void the warranty on my lease!

No pressure to add services which has been a pain at other fast change oil places

Im pretty disappointed by this place. First it took a while to convince him I just wanted the door price of $17.99. He kept telling me it would be $31 or something. He agreed to the door price, and started working. Was a pleasant guy overall. The service didnt take long. Then he comes over and tells me the price will be $45. I said whoa, what happened to the price? And he said well for the filter and whatnot. I just said okay and left, since I didnt want to deal with it anymore. The receipt shows MOBIL SPECIAL SN/GF-5 for $40, then the environmental fee of $4.50. Maybe he thought I was being difficult and didnt want my opinion before putting a new filter in?Look, if you advertise a price on the door, but you never end up with that low of a charge, its -false advertising-. And if you do something additional, you have to ask first! Even if you know its what the car needs, but you know a customer will want to ask questions because they dont know and dont want to get overcharged, you still have to ask them! Or you end up with reviews like this.

Ryan was great with his customer service and explaining the different services offered. He did not try to sell me anything I didnt need and was very understanding of my past dealership nightmares. Bill was efficient and friendly as well. I will definitely return for any auto needs in the future!

I always dread getting my oil changed because I hate being asked to buy everything under the sun and saying no a million times. I went to this shop today for the first time and I was SO happy that they didn’t try to upsell me. I will definitely me coming back for my next oil change!! They were also very fast and efficient.

They advertise affordable oil changes but when I pull up my $39 oil change turned in $79 or $89. They wanted to charge me $10 more just to remove the internal oil filter. So I went to oriellys and did it myself for $40, a K&N filter and fully synthetic mobile 1 oil.

My wife went into this location for a oil change on a 2019 Grand Cherokee. She had 3 kids in the car and these guys swindled her for $192.58 charge. How does a basic oil change equate to nearly $200? Its frustrating to see women still being taken advantage of in 2019.

Last oil change they filled my wiper fluid. Now its frozen solid. This has never happened to me before so they must be watering down the fluid. Ill be pursuing this further.

Screwed my car up doing a simple tire rotation. Now I get warning from my awd/rear axle, and they didnt notify my cars computer where they changed my tires so now all the sensors are switched up. Took it back asked them to fix it and they said not their problem.

Ryan the manager is legit. Theyre not there to haggle you or make you do something you dont want to do. Every time Ive been hes been straight up with me and Ive trusted his and his teams work. Highly recommended.

Im at my original oil change shop and and they had asked me who did my oil last and I said mobil 1 in royal oak. My original oil change shop says well mobil 1 in royal oak did some shady stuff to your car. The experience with mobil 1 in royal oak was terrible and definitely shady. Would never recommend them to anyone!.

I just recently got my oil changed and the mechanic asked me who has been changing my oil. I said said that the last time was at the Mobil 1 in Royal Oak. He said based on how bad my oil looked and the poor shape of the filter that there was no way that it had been changed previously. I have a receipt that shows I was up charged for a certain oil filter. These guys are crooks and even worse they could have damaged my engine. They are being reported to the BBB.

Sign says 17.99, total was 24.99 with oil disposal fee.a also you need to request 27.90 oil change. as thaprice does not include any services like fluid or air check.place is a ripoff.

Tech lied to me to get me to get the $60 dollar more oil change. Took advantage. Will never go here again and they are the closest to my house. Don’t bother.
