Ive been to many PF locations and this one is my favorite. I like the set up and cleanliness and location.

I Just joined after training at home due to cov 19, the gym is clean the staff are very friendly professional and helpful. Planet has All the equipment anyone would need. Great place to get in shape!!Thanks planet

Why was the cops called randomly when no one is here at 5AM??? 😂😂 already on weird stuff, I left. I walk in and scan my phone and dude was immediately on mess talking about, “you can’t bring in the gallon of water in the floor.” Like I didn’t even say anything to you.. I replied, I’m leaving it in the locker. And he said “oh.”Baby.. I left. No thank u. Immediately since it wasToo early and I’m not even in The mood for the Karen vibes in 2021.

Clean and Friendly Staff...but not the best experience in terms of COVID safety right now.

I don’t leave too many reviews but I think December and Brianna deserve one. They are ALWAYS cleaning and work hard to keep the gym that way. Good job ladies!! Thank you for all your hard work

More spacious and with more options than other planet fitnesses.

I frequently rotate to three PF Locations: Bloomfield, Troy Coolidge Highway, and this Royal Oak Location. This is a good gym, it has the modern equipments (e.g. Row Machine) and super friendly staff. My only complaint is the exposed wood on their ceiling, in which the other locations doesnt have it. It feels like they are still on construction but I guess what makes this location unique. I recommend this location.

Very professional staff, great atmosphere, and equipment. I am visiting, on vacation from Virginia, needed a place to train. They made me feel welcomed and were very affordable without a membership.

My favorite place to work out. Always clean. Friendly staff. They have a separate Black Card area, which includes tanning, hydro massage (which is my favorite). The Stretch, Core and 30 minute are all in their own rooms, allowing for a little privacy. Even during the busiest of times, I can always find a treadmill. The parking during peak times is the worst part about this gym.

The gym is very clean and nice. My only complaint is that every time my friends and I go when this one employee is working, we feel very unwelcome. We understand an employee is going to look at you when you sign although, the look we feel we get is very rude and judgmental. This continues throughout the gym. Not sure if it’s the masks or what but we don’t appreciate the constant staring.

Im not sure how the crowd meter in the app works, but it was completely full and the meter only showed a 4 out of 20 rating. There are way too many treadmills and not enough benches/towers/racks.

The Royal Oak location is for sure the most clean and well placed out location in the area.

Super positive experience joining today thanks to Alyssa. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and told me she enjoys working for Planet Fitness. Not every business appreciates that keeping your employees satisfied translates into higher customer satisfaction. I was also impressed by the sign up process which was amazingly efficient.

Planet fitness is a great gym, and this one in particular is wonderful. The equipment is always super clean, and the staff always very friendly. they have all the amenities such as tanning, massage chairs, hydromassage beds, and the total body enhancement machine. The amenities are great and they have all of the regular equipment that planet fitness usually does.

Very affordable and the most important aspect are the fellow members always wiping their areas after usage ... I feel very safe and germ free ...

I love planet fitness but this location is nonchalant about members cleaning the treadmills before and after each use. Im not sure about the employee cleaning schedule but I was there for over an hour and didnt see anyone wipe down equipment.If youre visiting be extra careful!

I called the cancel my membership in March and was surprised to see a charge on my bank account last month for a membership fee. I called to cancel, yet again, and was told that they could cancel my membership but I would be billed for the next month, which they could not control. My next question was if they could issue me a refund because this situation was their fault (I didn’t even ask to have the previous month refunded because accidents happen), at that point I was transferred to the manager just to be told that the payment would automatically be taken from my bank account, there’s nothing I can do about it, and once Planet Fitness has your money they won’t refund it. Common sense would say no one should be giving their bank account information to Planet Fitness (the only way to sign up for an account). Consumer beware!

Same issue as other members. They charged me after closing the restarted my membershup without my approval and kept charging me and wont refund. I called my bank and filed a dispute. PH needs to freeze all membershups and only reactivate when people feel safe to return. Ironically they are on Crooks road!

They took money out of my bank account for my daughters yearly membership fee without informing me. Membership fee is $39.00 taken out yearly whether the gym is open or not according to Finn manager. Membership fees are taken without refunds regardless of Covic lock downs. My problem : I asked the manager to refund my money because They did not inform me, they did not ask if they could take membership fees out or even if I wanted to use the gym anymore, their dates for taking fees out were off, I did cancel the membership and we have not used the gym. We are not going to use the gym. Plus, theyve been closed. It is a pandemic..Finn the manager did not care about any of this and is keeping the money to buy disinfectant for the Royal Oak Planet fitness gym, he said. I was hoping maybe they had a food shelter to donate to, they dont. I am a senior citizen and work hard for my money. Finn could of refunded my money given the scenario, knowing he took this without warning. Ive spoke with a different Canton MI. planet fitness and they were very understanding and would have refunded the money had it been at their facility . Not all planet fitnesses are created equal. Royal Oak sucks!!!

This gym is very nice! There are lots of machines and exercise areas, as well as a trainer offering classes (included in membership). Its very clean, and bathrooms are very modern and clean as well. Staff is very attentive. Its clear this place has received a recent renovation. Only complaint is that you must provide your bank account for payments, no credit cards are accepted which provides you with less financial protection.

Ive been to many different PF in Michigan! By far this is the best management and staff. Proud to call it my home gym. The manager on his hands and knees teaching staff how to clean machines! Great job guys and gals !

Staff is great. Finn, the manager is always polite and never stops working. I get tired watching him work😀. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. I just started exercising and a little shy, but everyone makes me very comfortable.

There was a Derek and a Briana at the front desk tonight giving me a hard time about their “policies” tonight and threatening me to cancel my service. If they haven’t learned about customer service, here’s one for you my young little friends. I’m taking my business to LA Fitness where I can spend $20 a month and not have to deal with whatever policies they want to come up with to protect themselves without consideration for their guests. I actually asked the you g kid if he follows all of the policies that his manager has for him and he actually had the gall to say yes. Laughing my way to LA Fitness...

I tried cancelling my membership last week and was told I have to come in to do so. It would have been nice if they let me know to do it ASAP because I was about to get charged a $40 annual fee. They also did not let me know I could mail in a form to cancel my membership. As I got charged $40 for the next year and cancelled within a day of being charged, The GM refused to give me my money back. Doesn’t sound fair to me!!!! I will never go back here!

Awesome place with unexpected surprises in equipment such as a wobble balance board, a 30 minute exercise room, stretch room, core room plus lots of machines, including some used in physical therapy. Provides lots of variety. Then you can use the hydroluxe massage chair before you leave.

This location is disgusting, dirty. nobody cleans the windows. smells. disappointed. won’t be back.

I love this location! The staff is super friendly, its always clean, and I feel safe going by myself. Yea, parking can be stinky but only if youre going at peak hours. They have flyers at the desk and are very transparent about their busy hours. Its definitely not a deal breaker. Extremely recommend!

Smells Like Teen SpiritI had high hopes for this Planet Fitness and I’ve been to several that I like very much. But each time I walk in the door, it smells like teen spirit – and that is not Nirvana. In the age of Coronavirus, the door glass is full of smudges and the staff is busy socializing at the front desk – except for one lone guy cleaning the gym. I added a star because theyre doing better as of 12/22/20. I increased the rating because they are making progress 3/28/2021.

What an amazing day at Planet Fitness! I came ready for a workout at about 2pm and left feeling so good after. The staff is always professional and helpful. Thank you.

This place is full of white people who will definitely eyeball you if you werent white like them they just give these 😏🤨 looks

There are some really unfriendly staff at this location! The PT classes are obnoxiously intrusive on regular guests. Never had a problem with them at other places, but they have no problem blocking off a whole room or taking over the equipment youre already using here.

The inside is really cool, the ceiling is an exposed wood. All of the equipment is very new and the gym is kept clean. Just beware if you plan to go here in the afternoon/early evening, the parking lot is too small. I have had to go to a different location multiple times because there just isnt a place to park.

I think this is one of the nicest PF’s that I’ve gone too. Nice equipment, plenty of space, clean locker rooms. The biggest downfall at this gym is parking. During peak hours there is always an issue finding a parking spot, and they’ve recently begun towing vehicles parked outside of spaces. Standard quirks of Planet Fitness, but overall a great place to exercise.

I’ve been to several PF locations in the area, and this is by far the nicest. Great cardio equipment and weight training equipment. I’ve never had issues with parking like some other reviews have mentioned, but I don’t tend to come at peak times during the week.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Facility is the cleanest of the three locations I have tried. I highly recommend this gym for people new to the fitness scene or anyone looking for a inexpensive yet highly comprehensive workout.

Good luck finding parking. 10 cars circling the lot between 5-7pm daily. Had to go elsewhere

Useless management. Was completely uncooperative when I was trying to cancel my account from the hospital stating I had to mail in a request. I have tried to cancel several times and they refuse to. I planned on renewing but will never do so now after this horrible experience.

I have three gym memberships and frequent this establishment the most; for the cleanliness, friendly and dedicated staff, and excessabilty regarding the hours and abundance of machines

Its a gym. Well equipped with most things. Lacking a bit on the core machines, if those are you thing you might have to wait a bit. Very busy during peak hours. They need another PF on the east side of Royal Oak.

Cant work out if you cant park your car! the good thing is if you can manage to find a parking spot the gym is never all that crowded. They do charge their annual fee of $40 on new years day when the parking situation is at its worst and you would consider quitting. At that point your roped in because you dont want to waste your money. Ill be waiting until i have 90 days with the club and transferring to a different PF.

New facility that is well kept. The biggest problem is that it can be difficult to find a parking spot at busy hours. Need more parking

Planet fitness is a GREAT place to workout with a fantastic staff to accommodate you as well! John at royal oak is an exceptional employee. Very friendly and knowledgable.People like him make the experience exciting and fun. Awesome!!

Great place -- Always clean and staffed with great people. Never had a bad experience here. Showers and locker rooms are always very clean. Parking is a pain because theres a lot on each side of the building and both fill up during prime time. However, Ive never had much of a problem at ~7am or ~4pm. Even when busy, there isnt much of a wait for machines.

By far the best gym I have been to and I have tried several over the years. There is nothing worse than a dirty gym specifically the locker room and shower area and this location is top notch! Lots of room, lots of machines and good selection of equipment, other patrons are respectful during their workouts and staff is very friendly. Thank you!!

Clean and friendly! Can get a little packed, but thats expected. Hence why I opted to go the Black Card membership route so I can work out at any PF. Shout-out to the OUTSTANDING employee named Kelsey. Super professional, kind, and easy to talk to. Shes a keeper!!

I visit this gym almost every day and have almost never been disappointed, I had one employee give me less than great service, being a little rude while signing me in, but it was 2 in the morning and she looked worn out so I cant hold it against her. Great place to go for a quick work out.

Excellent gym. The staff is very friendly, and the facilities are clean. Plenty of options and workout machines. Only complaint is the parking lot is small. Many weekdays after work it can be hard, even impossible to find a spot.

I have been to many PFs in the US and Canada and I can honestly say that this location is one of the best ones. The size is incredible, you have plenty of room to work without having to worry about hitting other people or getting on their way. This gym has the oak signature on their ceiling. Staff is very friendly and greet you on every visit. The only tip is that I would avoid going there around 6pm as it gets the most crowded, however, it is still bearable to enjoy your workout regardless.

Great location for me. Only a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk! Now I have no excuse not to go to the gym. :) as far as people complaining about the trainers, PF provides FREE, very basic training. There is no personalized training at Planet Fitness. If thats what you are looking for, go elsewhere, pay double the monthly fees plus hundreds extra for the personalized training sessions.

I joined this location because Troy is under renovation. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. Everything is always kept clean, you do have to look out for other members that do not wipe machine after their use. There are plenty of machines so you do not have to wait. I may stay at this location even when Troy opens.

Its nice to work out in a gym where no one judges/ forces their opinion on your workout routine. And its open 24/7 making it very convenient for any schedule. In addition, it is a clean gym and has no foul odor.

I really love coming here - its very localized to the people who live near here, clean, and the staff is very genuine and cares about you. I love having a gym less than 2 minutes from my house!My only complaint is the parking lot - there seems to be quite a few handicapped spots that are rarely used ( I do understand this is a law, but it just seems a bit odd for a gym to have so many).Additionally, the parking lot is overwhelming at times depending on when you go and can feel a bit unsafe. The lighting could be a bit better.

Clean locker rooms and showers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Newer TVs and equipment. Parking lot can feel small and cramped during peak hours. This location didn’t have rowing machines when I went, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Buyer beware: the parking is a major issue here year round but becomes near impossible just after January 1st. Knowing this, Planet Fitness charges their $39 annual fee on January 1st and doesnt bat an eye when you cant make it to the gym. They already have your money in hand anyway!Look for any of the other similar gyms in the area with better parking and a staff that cares.

Ive been to SO many different gyms throughout the years and Ive never witnessed anything remotely close to this just poor customer service. First experience was fine. Second time, an employee rudely told me I couldnt carry my small gym bag with me and had to put unlocked in a locker (didnt offer a solution like behind the counter but was just trying to prove a point with a not positive tone), I mean its not an original story to have a gym bag at a gym smh, but I politely said ok and moved it to locker room. The 3rd time, walking in I literally was stopped in my tracks and was again rudely spoken to saying I wasnt allowed to bring in a gallon of water, what!! A gallon of water! Isnt promoting hydration during workouts proper gym etiquette and something that isnt frowned upon, but I guess she chose dehydration as a better alternative. I didnt want to cause any scene and just threw it away, but cmon a gallon of water?! What is the maximum capacity of water vessel that is allowed here? If it had a cute pink trendy bottle cover for it, would that be ok? They promote judgement free zone, but I have never seen such judgmental staff at a gym EVER! If you are looking for a good relaxed gym environment, I would stay far far away from this place and their extremely strict policies, I guess I would call it. I mean, my water was too big to bring in?!?! haha sooo strange!

Clean, comfortable and great price. I like that I can get in and out even when it is busy. Parking is tight so I like going later in the evening when it clears out a little.

This is a well taken-care-of gym with clean locker rooms, showers and equipment. It can get pretty crowded with the after-work rush but I can still always find a machine available.

Worst location by far!! Had the worst experience with the staff!! Was out and about and ran in to use the bathroom then was informed that the bathrooms were for paying members only. I had already scanned my card and checked for myself. I have a black card and unlimited guest passes so not sure what the issue was.

I was leery about signing the contract and choosing this location as my home gym, Callyn really helped me feel at ease, she explained everything really well and had exceptional customer service when it came to all my questions!

I’ve visited 3x to cancel this “no commitment “ membership and each time, the staff refuses. They continue to attempt and sometimes succeed at taking money out of my account even when i have requested several times for them to stop. Whenever i ask to speak with a manager they claim there isn’t one and you can’t cancel online. This is a total ripoff and joke of a gym. Worst customer service ever

Great facility but parking is an absolute nightmare. If your trying to get a quick workout in right after work....dont bother. There have been several occasions where I was so frustrated from endlessly driving in circles looking for a spot that I just decided to go home and not workout. I am going to join a Gym that is much further from my house and more expensive, but at least I can actually park my car

I signed up to meet with the Trainer along with 4 other people in the class to set up an individual fitness plan. I filled out the paper work required, and noted under MEDICAL - Cancer. The trainer reviewed my paper work, made some notes, indicated what work out machines I should use etc. The trainer NEVER asked the type of Cancer, or what stage of Cancer I am in or have/ had, so how does the trainer know that the machines and work they mapped out is correct workout for ME in my situation at this time. When the class was over I asked if they walked you around and demonstrated the machines so that I (we) would be using them correctly, the comment from the trainer was to look at the picture they are self explanatory, and I have a class starting in 5 min. I am a Black card member and I purchased that membership so that I would get the correct work out for me. Is that why it is called a no judgement zone no one really cares?

So happy this location opened. Still gave it 5*s... however, parking is a huge issue around 5-7pm when most people get off work.

This is BY FAR my favorite PF on the PLANET. Its super clean and the staff is very helpfull and supportive. Especially Callyn!! She should be the GM!!
