I am a psychologist and colleague of the owner and only have the most positive regard for him and his team. They truly care about their clients and others and this shines through in the way services are provided.
I agree with the reviewer that said it was hard to find. I was never told the entrance was at the back. After getting out of my car at the front then told by someone standing at the door that I had to go around back I drove around and couldnt find parking. By the time I made it inside I was so frustrated. The therapist was nice.
Ive followed the progress of the Relationship Institute since its inception roughly 27 years ago and have always been impressed with the level of dedication and professionalism that Joe, Shirley and their staff have exhibited over the years. Their services are outstanding and they have been instrumental in helping many, many people through some difficult times. I highly recommend the Relationship Institute. based on their very successful reputation in helping their myriad of clientele over the past 27 years.
Whoever owns this business is not a good business owner. The place is hard to find first of all. Its clearly labeled on the front of the building in big letters. You park, walk up and the tiny sign says youre in the wrong building. So you go around to the back and its not clearly labeled anywhere where this place is so I spent more time looking for it. So I arrived late. Encountered rude receptionist. Therapist still ended the session on the hour, so I didnt even get a full hour. It didnt really help too much either, but benefit of the doubt since it was session 1. Decided to give it one more shot. I arrived right on time, but there was no receptionist, no therapist when I arrived. I yelled into the office and a different therapist came out and didnt help at all. I waited 11 minutes after the hour and decided to leave. Never coming back. I do not recommend this place. Margie was the therapist. If you guys can charge a no-show fee to your customers, then I wish we could charge a no-show fee to your business. Just unprofessional.
I have had a chance to talk with one of the staff members, and find that they are very compassionate, knowledgeable and competent. They put me at ease about couples counseling. I haven’t gone to them for counseling yet for my own reasons. When I am ready, they will be the first one I call. Thank you, Relationship Institute!
My wife and I have had long careers in Public Health and in Public Education.Over the years we both have had several opportunities to recommend individuals to the Relationship Institute.Feedback from these individuals was in every instance positive.
As a social worker with over 30 years of experience, I can tell you that the Relationship Institute follows best practices and produces excellent results for their clients. They offer a variety of services, with practitioners who care about their clients and their outcomes. I unconditionally recommend the Relationship Institute.
Shirley Bavonese was very attentive and extremely helpful in helping me cope with a relationship issue with my daughter. She is very good at what she does.
The Relationship Institute is amazing. Nina was a great help and supportive along my process through therapy -- would highly recommend!
Ive known the owner of this company since 2008 through professional consultation and study of ethical clinical business models. As a Family Psychologist in private practice, he influenced my career and client services in remarkable ways. I continue to consult him regularly and benefit from his kind and insightful guidance and I trust you will find the expert help you desire at his group practice Relationship Institute.
If you want to save or improve your relationship - look no further. The therapists at Relationship Institute are top-notch, compassionate, effective and ... seriously - this is the place to come for relationship help. I have known Joe Bavonese the director for years through professional conferences and trainings. Please dont wait. I would recommend that you call, text or email them today.
My wife and I were having significant issues in our marriage...mostly brought on by my drinking. I had no idea it was causing such a strain. So my wife talked me into going and we met with Shirley Bavonese. I was totally against the whole thing. But after about ten minutes I found myself getting into it. I was floored when she said I was an alcoholic. Imagine...I was and still am a highly successful sales executive. Drinking with clients was a key component of relationship building. So I started going to AA and have been continuoulsy sober now almost seventeen years. AA is a key part of my life and Al-Anon is a key part of my brides. Our marriage is solid and life is good. All because of the Shirly and the Relationship Institute.
If I could rate zero stars, I would. We just had the worst therapy experience here and especially with Sharon Mijal. First of all, our rates were outrageous. We have great insurance and we were paying out the nose. Second of all, our therapist forgot our appointment on two separate occasions. The last straw was when after almost five months of therapy, our therapist, Dr Sharon Mijal didnt recognize us in the waiting room and didnt know our names. We quit on the spot. If you care about your relationship please PLEASE avoid this false doctor!!
The best place to go to get help with your relationship.
Very competent and caring staff. Extremely helpful.
Have called this place MULTIPLE TIMES throughout the week. No one answers the phone or returns calls even when a message is left. Finally, on call 15, a receptionist answered. I dont know if I caught her on a bad day, but boy oh boy was she rude. She took my information and said she would check my insurance, and would call back regardless of the information. That was 3 days ago. Im not sure how a company who is all about it relationships can treat their customers and patients this way. EXTREMELY disappointed. Look elsewhere for help.
Im a colleague of Joe Bavonese, and know him through consultation on building effective therapy practices. Hes had a very positive impact on my own group practice.Joe has been practicing psychotherapy and counseling with individuals, couples and families since 1985. He founded the Relationship Institute in 1992 and since that time has expanded to a group practice with 23 psychotherapists working in three offices in southeastern Michigan. Joe’s specialty is marriage counseling and couples therapy. He also facilitates psychoeducational workshops with couples, and his Institute offers workshops on anger management, cognitive behavioral therapy and helping couples recover from infidelity.
