Ryan is so helpful! Very professional and always has a smile when you walk in. If you ever have a question and he doesnt know the answer to it, he will go out of his way to help you as much as he can.
A lot of equipment not being taking care properly. Equipment broken for more than a month.
Been coming here for 2 years staff is great, gym is always clean never had issues.
Its $25 now, super easy to cancel your subscription, clean, has the equipment you need.
Friendly staff, cant say the same about the fellow members at this gym. Gym etiquette is key when working out socially. Get off the equipment if youre just texting, ask if someone is using certain equipment and dont hog the water fountain!
I didnt catch the front desk personnels name but she was so sweet and very helpful. She helped my daughter registered and gave her all the info she needed. Thank you!
It’s actually not no contract no hidden fees. Lost my card and didn’t go back to gg and they kept charging me cause I didn’t cancel even tho I did the no contract per month and didn’t stop until I was at 380$. And they took it to collection. So much for that
Had a fantastic personal training session with Ginni. Really enjoyed the knowledge and personalized workout session. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend this gym! The staff members are extremely nice and the trainers are very knowledgeable.
Its aight some of the staff is GREAT and the other 1/2 is 🤷♂️. You know who you are 🤣
Not crowded, clean, helpful staff.95% of customers are still wearing masks. Its recommended, but not mandatory.(I know thats a highly asked questions at this time.)
Great gym facility and amenities but just too dang on crowded! Most times, it’s like a men’s social hour. There’s groups of guys who rotate on sometimes 4 machines at a time and it makes it impossible to use the equipment in your own time frame. There’s a lot of picture taking and videos and honestly it’s the men!!! Lol I wish there was a capacity limit and I wish it was followed. I have chosen to do more studio classes bc there is a occupancy limit. My husband (who doesn’t do studio classes) hates this gym bc of how packed it is. And parking can be a disaster too!
Avoid! Wifi barely works and with a metal ceiling cell service is Barely existent. Pool and hot tub are shut down for over a year. There is nothing special about this gym. Locker rooms clean only half the time. I don’t think it’s managements fault (although they don’t seem to care much) it seems more of a corporate issue. Save the money and go to planet fitness. It’s literally the same thing with different paint at 1/3 the price.
This review and my 5 stars are all based on my experience with Shana a personal trainer here. I couldnt say enough amazing things about her. I was super self conscious and nervous to get back in the gym and she has helped me get out of my shell and motivate me. I wasnt good with nutrition and she gave me the best advice. She has truly helped me change my life for the better. 100 % grateful. If you are wondering about doing personal training here I recommend choosing Shana.
Excellent equipment, friendly staff, and very clean. Lots of good looking folks to help motivate you.
This location and the local staff are fine, but I cannot recommend any Golds Gym due to their policies and customer service and the way they have handled the covid situation with their members. Im not interested in going to the gym during a pandemic and Ive been trying to re-freeze/cancel my membership since August 2020 (I thought I had resolved it in March) and they just keep coming up with one excuse after another while letting my monthly membership fees accumulate. Whatever you do - avoid any sort of contract with them.
I cannot give the place not even one star very dishonest poor staff traing as well as non informative on. Cancelation rules NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
The gym is nice but I came in around 6 on Sunday and over half the people were not wearing masks. Some with the mask not even on their face. It’s clear that they don’t enforce the mask mandate here. I don’t plan on returning to this location.
Hands down worst gym ever...dont sign a contract with these snakes..went in to the gym and canceled my membership after two years then two years later was randomly charged 238.00..??? Called and was told to kick rocks pretty much
Awesome gym. Managers Brandon and Leslie are great, friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
Great place, great atmosphere and very clean. Enjoyed my workout
Do not recommend. I joined Georgetown Golds in the Spring of 2020 due to convenient location. All gyms were closed due to Covid and they halted charges. Then they permanently closed the gym that I was a member at and transferred my member ship to a gym that is an hour round trip away from the one I joined. Now they wont allow me to cancel my membership without paying them $80-ish dollars. Thats shady business.
Same complaint as all other Golds in this area. There is no reason why the pool and hottub are not reopened- and don’t say COVID when the saunas are open!Re-open or lower membership fees.
Very welcoming! Everyone keeps their own distance. Everyone wipes and sanitizes the equipment theyve touched. Im a woman and I dont get weird looks from other people!
Easy to sign up. Good customer service. Will found out about the place when I start.
Clean, efficient and practicing safe form as well safe distance. Ty, Golds!!?
Love this gym. Clean, not too busy, nice equipment, friendly staff. But charge a monthly fee for towels? Whats that all about?
Its a good gym with alot of equipment, but customer service is terrible. I find out my membership was being used by another person without my knowledge I had no idea so I deicded to change my barcode. I contacted this location and was put on hold for 20 minutes. AFTER, The lady at the desk said I cant find your account and hung up. I had to call so many other locations just to get good customer service and finally do their job and help me change my barcode. You cant cancel or hold your account on call so you actually have to go in person. On top of that, only the managers are able to do such actions but theyre never there.
Ryan was very genuine and friendly. Thank you so much for everything
Always clean. Can get a bit over crowded, but thats the nature of the beast.
The gym is always hot. Not sure if they even have an air conditioner. They say they keep it at 70 degrees but it feels more like 90.
Gym is good, but the wifi sucks
I’m totally blown away by how awesome the Studio Coaches are. This gym has the best coaches you could ask for (Troy, Dawn, and Robert). There’s a much closer Gold’s to our house, but we don’t mind going a little further to Round Rock for Burn and Fit. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do!
I really like it, staff always nice, good environment and clean place to workout.
One of my Favorite layouts for a golds gym, and relatively clean. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the management. While the front desk workers are congenial and generally pleasant the management is not always helpful and often times seems put off by what would otherwise be expected requests from gym members.
Joined the gym when I was new to Texas. Lost the job from Covid had to move back to Florida. Of course I need to cancel my membership. I was on auto payments. Took about 3 months to get ahold of someone to cancel. Now 7 months later, I get a letter from a collections agency for 64$. No one from the gym ever called me or anything I don’t know what this bill is for and I just waited for someone to answer for 45 minutes before hanging up. This place is a scam.
Love the place
Worked very nice and friendly, I like this location gyms.
Came here after 24hr fitness closed down. not your run of the mill golds gym. the one off 183 and burnet area is filled with your stereotypical gym rats and is what i expect golds to look like. this one is not as crowded as i thought and has a good mix of people
I joined the Golds Gym in Wolf Ranch right before they closed it altogether during Covid. I didnt think anything about it and I didnt get a bill. Then a couple of months ago they started billing me again even though my gym was closed. I tried on multiple occasions to cancel my membership in person to no avail. Then the las time I went in they said I had to pay through my original contract date even though my gym was closed. I refused. Then I stated getting emails and calls every day saying I owed 2 months in back fees (I froze the card they had for me). Then I finally got an email from the Round Rock location where they arbitrability transferred my membership to. The Mgrs name is Leslie De Silva. In the first email she told me that if I would pay the $83 and change in payments she would send me the cancelation form. I refused explaining all I am saying here. Then I got a 2nd email where she finally told me that not only would I have to pay the $83 and change but would also have to fulfill my original contract and pay dues through 4/1/2021 even though my gym had been closed. Pretty sneaky communication. I have sent a detailed complaint to the Texas State attorney Generals Office. Do not do business with this crooked Manager or sleazy company!
When you go late at night there is no crowd. Its generally still pretty crowded so it doesnt seem as though they are enforcing a COVID-19 capacity change. I like this gym but I dont like that they switched out the wipes and wipe dispensers for bottles of cleaning spray and paper towels.
The one constantly BAD thing is the water in the pool is almost always a couple of degrees to cold especially in the summer. When the winter started up they usually moderated the temperature well but this year it’s been to cold to even swim at times. I’ve complained in the past and they do absolutely nothing. All it needs is to be about 2 degrees warmer and until you guys get consistent with this I’m gonna keep posting these bad reviews!
Changing my review from a 1 star to a 5 star. I would first like to say that while I was treated very poorly by a representative of Golds Gym, the person that did so was not affiliated specifically with this location and the AGM has been more than accommodating and welcoming as we would have expected from the beginning. Thank you Leslie and Golds Gym RR North for earning our trust and welcoming us to Golds.
This gym is perfect for every one who has the time to get the stress out of the day and have time to get in a better mood to take care of themselves. I am really excited 😆 about this gym. I give it 10 stars ⭐️
I have tried to cancel the account several times with Golds Gym. First, they said I had to come to the gym for that to happen eventhough I am 75 miles away. Second, they said I had to speak to a manager to cancel but one is never available. Third, they said I had to send an email requesting a cancellation. Still 2 months later they still taking money from my account. Finally I had to go to the bank to put a stop payment against them.
Very clean and spacious gym. The gym does get crowded at peak hours 5-7 pm, as with all gyms I have found, but there have always been availability for the machines I want to use. Tanya, personal trainer, was great helping me back into a fitness routine. I was concerned that I would over-do & be extremely sore, but Tanya worked with me to get a good workout. My body felt that I had exercised but it was a good feeling -- not incapacitated. The rest of the staff is always friendly & willing to answer any questions. Tanya is my shining star though. :)
Nice gym with good amount of equipment, but I took some classes here with Ruth Bruhn did not go well. I dont know if she doesnt know how to teach a class but the technique was wrong. I was bummed out that she took the popular spot teaching classes here. They need to recommend trainers who are fit not fat.
Apparently this gym is immune to coronavirus. In at least 7000sqft workout space, is only one sanitation station with spray and towels, one cleaning person who isnt cleaning workout areas, and only one antibacterial bottle at the front of the gym.Stay away if you are concerned about the pandemic. Im canceling my membership... Its sad that a place for physical health has such little regard for the health of its members.
I love this gym. The staff is awesome. The gym is always clean and doesnt have that musty gym smell.
Clean and modern. A Great team works here.
As an Ironman athlete, I have been swimming regularly for the last 4 to 5 months. I swam in this pool on 12/4/18 and this gym has the cleanest and best keep pool I have swam in while training. The pool and pool area was exceptionally clean, the water chemistry and temperature was excellent. The staff was friendly and courteous. I live in the north Houston area and Im definitely coming back to this gym the next time I am in the Austin area.
Great gym! Having problems going to the gym and finding a babysitter? Go here! The have a daycare in the gym!! It helps so much..
The pool maintenance at this location is horrible. Ive been coming here for almost little over a year, and the temperature is never consistent. Oftentimes its filled with trash/debris. Today the water was so foggy that I couldnt see the line. When I went to the front desk, they just said it was good to use and didnt even see the pool. Im going to the Cedar Park location, but this Golds Gym in terms of pool maintenance its just awful.
Overall nice gym. Only issue is everyone and their mom squats now and this gym only has 2 real squat racks. Needless to say there’s not enough, especially for how busy it tends to get. Other than that pretty decent place to workout.
Love this gym!!! Not your typical Golds. Everything you need to maintain a fitness lifestyle. The Manager Brandon is a great guy, always visible, pleasant and accommodating. good value for money!!!!!
Overall the equipment and cleanliness of the facilities are really good. Its a new gym, so I think that is expected. Most of the people Ive encountered there are nice and helpful, but there are a few bad apples. For example, there was one older guy that uses the squat rack for an entire hour, which is fine. But, he got mad at me because I was racking weights onto an empty rod on the squat rack close to where he was. That kind of crude behavior shouldnt be tolerated at a gym where we want to create a supportive environment. In addition, Ive also had a few not-so-pleasant encounters with one of the staffers at the front desk.
This is a great gym, it is fairly big with tons of equipment of all varieties, you can literally plan endless workout combinations, pool is good, two lane but not too busy. Staff is friendly, the kids drop off was okay too. Generally nice and clean and great vibe, classes are good but not too many people.
Rush hour at gym is equivalent to rush hour on 35
I inquired about the child drop off they close in the middle of the day so no ability for lunch workouts.I really wanted an aquatic work out but they hold them around 9am twice a week when I cant be there. It is very clean, very well equipped and plenty of other work out classes.I did not have enough time to meet with a trainer maybe next time 😊
Open the pool!
Poor Communication & Customer Service
My favorite Gold’s. It has the Hoist machines I like, lap pool, hot tub, competent staff, clean and dry locker room, likable regulars who are committed to a healthier lifestyle.
Excellent place to work out
Equipment is nice and usually clean and working. Sometimes they are out of cleaning wipes and the trash is overflowing. Also, and this is about the customers, people will sit on the machines using their cell phones. The cell phone use gets really old really fast. Otherwise, I do like this gym and the employees are usually friendly.
Best golds I have been to yet! Great layout and an even better staff. Tyson is always very friendly at the front door and Robert is a great coach; I for sure recommend anyone using him as a trainer or taking his golds classes.
I signed up in may 2017. I moved in July 2017. I called to cancel due to moving in August 2017. Was then informed I had to mail in my cancellation. I mailed in my cancellation in December 2017. Then again in March 2018 Then AGAIN in September 2018. And it finally stopped charging me for a bit... Now as of March 2019 I am all of the sudden I am being charged not only double what I was charged originally. But being charged twice each month! Every time I call I get told I have to mail in my cancellation. And I still keep getting billed even after I do! I want my money back! Especially now that it has doubled and I am being charged twice a month!
While facility and equipment were in decent condition, this location has serious issues maintaining their staff. coverage for there kids area is sporadic at best. much better options available for less then the monthly and membership fees they charge.
Well equipped box gym with lots of amenities for the price. Tons of equipment and have yet to be so busy I cant complete a workout. Staff is usually friendly and oddly never seem busy.
Nice size gym, it has a pool, jacuzzi and sauna. They offered different group exercises classes with your membership and you also have the option to upgrade your membership and get studio classes (golds fit, cycle and burn). It’s always clean and front desk people are attentive, the downsides are the parking lot is kinda small, it’s not so easy to access if you are coming from I-35S (you’ve do to a U-turn) and the mirrors in the GGX room aren’t always clean.
This gym gets packed yet somehow they have enough equipment for everyone which is nice. However, charging an extra $10 a month for towel service is pretty ridiculous and you cant actually participate in many of the offered classes/services unless you pay extra for that as well. Comparable to a 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport Gym minus the towel service.
I just want to say that this specific Gym in general has accompanied me through my ups and downs of my fitness journey. I did the Keto Diet in Jan of 2017 and lost 35 lbs from 210 to 175. Keto Diet works! Read Up on it. Unfortunate when I lost those 35 lbs I also lost a lot of muscle and looked like I was unhealthy. I decided to join Golds Gym March of 2017 and fast forward a year to 2018 and Im up from 175 lbs to 196 lbs 16% body fat! My results are all thanks to this particular Golds Gym! There is enough equipment for everyone to use during peak hours. The Staff is super friendly and easy to talk to for some advice. Plenty of options for classes. The 3D scanning is a plus. Gym is usually clean. Thanks Gold Gym!
Clean local gym that has everything I need. it hasnt gotten busy yet since opening. The wifi sucks though. Otherwise, I workout here as my primary Golds location. This location is less of a place for professional gym rats than Hesters and more of a neighborhood feel.
Great gym with lots of equipment and lots classes with great instructors
Its a gym, but a pretty decent one. Nothing special, but clean, nice staff, and some cool amenities
Its been my go to gym since they opened.. They had a rough period where they allowed their customers to leave equipment that blocked a fire exit. Took RR FD a couple visits before they took it seriously. Now the only hitch is their pool guy.. its been way too cold since they open. Lots of us have complained and no one seems to understand how theyre the only Golds out of 4 in the area, that cant get the temp right. Other than that.. the equipment is new, its kept clean and the staff is very personable.
I cant believe Im one of those people that goes to the gym at 5 in the morning. Id have loss money on that bet
Nice looking new gym that is experimenting with the Golds Studio concept. Essentially, this gym is your traditional Golds with the added components of premium classes that reflect the latest trends in fitness clubs. These Studio Classes are an add-on premium to the standard membership fee. Its gets quite pricey for the Studio Membership, but you can try 4 visits to these classes for free with your standard membership. At this location these studio classes include Golds Fit (Crossfit alternative), Golds Burn (Orange Theory alternative), and Golds Cycle (Spin Class). There is one room dedicated to traditional cardio group classes that are not part of the Studio Membership. I like the Studio classes a lot. The instructors are great and well trained. However, the pricing for this membership is comparable (or at time higher than) to other fitness memberships in the area. In my opinion, the class times are so limited its not worth even trying the Studio Membership. Its really a business model thats not going to work in this area. This is clearly the case with the attendance levels in these classes. Throw the Studio Classes into the standard membership and this gym would be one of the best in the area. Also - cautionary tip for new members. Do NOT sign up for a contract. I didnt and even then I had trouble cancelling my membership. When you sign up on a month-to-month agreement, you pay your LAST months dues, then at the first part of the month, youll pay again for your first month. If you want to cancel, they require 28 days notice to stop payment. This means that if you want to cancel on the 31st of a month, you will actually pay for 2 more months before you are done with your relationship with Golds. (One more months of payments, plus the last months payment that you paid when you signed up.) This is the worst business practice Ive seen in customer service. Its no wonder Golds has the reputation they do online. Tread carefully.
Could use a few more low-mid weight dumbbells, but staff are helpful and the gym is clean!!
It is very bright in there with skylights and lighting. Very large and spacious, clean and new. Classes are great and people are friendly. The childcare has good hours and a big area. They have saunas in the locker rooms and they are very large. Even have blowdryers in the locker rooms and free wifi.
I have read some of the reviews here and the ones that say it is a clean gym are completely false. The locker rooms, bathrooms, sauna, showers and pool area are dirty as can be and are disgusting. Anyone that says different is lying period. I like the gym and the people but I am disgusted how dirty the areas are that I told you about. I called one day and complained about it and they hung up on me twice. We need to get more folks to complain about this so they correct the filth. Check out he picture I provided and you can tell they never mop this place. The other Golds gym near the toll way is cleaner. Do you think that it is too much for us to have a clean gym? Thanks for you time.
This is a good place to workout especially because it is very close to where i live...i have had no problems the guys at front are very nice & treat you good i love this place & i see everyone like family 😀
Brandon Stidham is a gresat guy and I love this gym. The cleanliness is awesome and overall its a very welcoming atmosphere. My new go tk spot to workout.
Alot bigger than you think looking from the outside. Sauna, full free weights, 40+ cardio machines, dedicated cycling area/yoga/ab/stretching areas. Friendly staff that dont go out of their way to bother you compared to other golds gyms.
Great location, clean equipment, and the app makes things easier.
Bad customer service, ready to loot customer with excuses. No employee has knowledge on what they are selling to you, even the sales guy does not give you full details until you fall in their pit. I signed up for Golds Studio (04/20/18) with a 3 month commitment and was told I could cancel anytime if I am not satisfied. After exactly second billing month day (05/20/18), I approached Brandon (manager) to cancel my membership or atleast freeze it as I could not make to gym due to personal commitments and most of the classes that work with my timings are always full. As others told, he makes absurd excuses, rolled his keyboard mouse around couple of times and told that system was not allowing him to do anything with my account and come back cancel it before next billing day (07/20/18). I left saying nothing thinking to cancel next month (last month), what else can I do? When I approached next month (2 days before billing day) that is today (7/18/18), theres another surprise to me. I am supposed to give them 30 day notice of cancellation, otherwise I will be charged for another month ($99.00). That earlier 3 month commitment/cancel anytime clause is not applicable today. What the heck are these guys behind, bloody little money? I should say losing customers here for few extra dollars with no fairness. I just wanted to get rid of this membership forever and having no option (already super tired with my personal commitments), I downgraded and signed up for 3 month regular gym. I had the sales guy (tall guy, sits next to Brandon) write the last billing date (9/18/18) and last day of my gym (10/18/18) on the new contract today (7/18/18). I am hoping that is the end of this story and I dont have to see this bloody gym again in my life, otherwise I may have to approach somewhere else to straighten things out. I never had any issues with 24 hour fitness, very flexible with customers. Lesson learnt, never join a Golds Gym unless you want to be looted. There are quite good gyms around or workout at home, not a big deal with some dedication.
I have asked and told management that the locker rooms and especially the pool area floors are never mopped and the reason I know there never mopped is because I sometimes go in late and sometimes go early in the morning and I go twice A-day to this gym I have gone to other gyms and they mopped their floors I have seen them mop their floors this place doesnt care about mopping their floors and having good hygiene which is really sad because the equipment there is great but I cant stand dirty floors and I have to just give an honest review because I have asked him many times to clean the floors yet they dont. If you read another review in a says that this gym is clean then they are lying. Now the workout area is clean otherwise I would cancel my membership
I went in September to cancel my gym membership because I dont even use it. I did what they asked I gave a 30 day notice and signed the form. The lady explained to me that I will be charged for October which is unstandable but here it is November and they charged me again. Ive called to get this resolved but they cant find record of me ever cancelling Unfortunately I didnt keep my copy so Im SOL. Ive had the worst experience here they will say anything to get you tied into a contract. I was told I could pay Bi-weekly but they charged me the full amount with out given me a notice. Apparently they took that option away . Well why arent they informing the workers so they wont misinform people. Lesson learned never throw away receipts or things you sign here because the employees cant even keep their paperwork correctly.
Nice clean gym most of the staff is helpful. Sometimes there hot water issues but over all really like the gym
Great gym! Bright light atmosphere. Cool new equipment. Friendly staff. Clean.
Fairly good selection of equipment for whatever your training needs are and what else can I say location location location!👍🏽
Great gym and great trainers - really love the Golds Fit, Burn and Cycle classes.
Very poor customer service. The manager name Brandan is not helpful and has attitude. I sign-up for Personal trainer on March 20th and then cancelled the PT program on next day March 21. But didnt get my refund back till now (July 2). I visited to gym like 15 times and called every 2nd day. Talked with other different representatives, they will write your name and cell number on sticky page and thats all.Talking with Brandan is like you need an appointment with president. He sit there but dont want an eye contact with you, a receptionist will ask him and he said he is busy while I see him that he is doing nothing all the time. Before sign-up of any thing in this gym, think at least 10 time. Otherwise you will not get your refund back. Not recommended.
Great place to get in shape and work out
Great place to work out. New weights and its clean
I cancelled on 4/24/18 after billing errors that were not being corrected or refunded since joining in February. General manager Brandon Stidham is dishonest, does not follow through, and has poor customer service. On my cancellation form Brandon wrote “no further billing”. However, I was charged in May and after many attempts through email, phone, calling another local Golds Gym, and finally after contacting Golds “Headquarters” through Facebook, Brandon issued a refund at the Gym along with more excuses. Once again in June Golds attempted to draft my account, but was unable due to a block on my account from their unauthorized charges. I was also receiving automated phone calls and an email that my membership needed to be paid. I again contacted Brandon and after no response through email called the Gym. I was given an absurd excuse and he acted as if he knew little detail of my experience despite all of the past communication of which I have detailed documentation of. I asked for his regional manager’s contact information and was denied saying he would clear my account right then. After “needing to look into this” he called back assuring me my account has been “wiped clean” and there will be no more charges. I have little hope that it is indeed actually over as nothing Brandon has said was actually followed through, but I’m crossing my fingers as I’ve been dealing with their errors since February.
Love this gym...this place has a neighborhood feel to it. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Gabe, Justin and Robert are awesome. It is nice to get the feedback and encouragement from a coach ..the studio classes are a nice addition to your membership ..i looked into going to a crossfit box but realized i could pay less and get the options for cycle and burn (orange theory type class) with a golds membership. One stop shop. Try the powerlifting classes with Gabe he is been super helpful to me and i have seen a difference with my workouts and strength. As far as the class times..speak up if you are not happy..i voiced a concern that no classes were held at 4 pm and with my kids daycare and my work schedule that just didnt work for me..beginning October..there will be 4pm studio classes..and lastly..the kids club is great my 4yr old loves to go to the gym with me. The ladies in there are sweet.
Good atmosphere. Friendly gym bros and gals.
