This place is a small beautiful shop in the middle of Downtown Round Rock. The staff is knowledgeable and more than willing to have a conversation about anything fly fishing related. They have tones of gear, tones of ideas and tone of knowledge to pass on! One of the best stops youll make I promise.I hate to say this, but I think everyone should know this is not a budget friendly shop. Expect high prices when you walk in. This is more the Gucci store of fly fishing.With that said you will love the items and will find a way to buy them! Their products are quality and that is what youre paying for.4 stars based on the lack of pricing/product diversity. I think this is a sport that everyone should be able to afford to enjoy.

What a great shop. The employees a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have the largest variety of fly fishing goods I have seen in any shop across several states. Liked it enough I am getting a class this week, and will do a float with them when I come back next year

The staff are super helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable on their products. Parking is a snap and easily found right outside the shop.After visiting numerous fly shops in different parts of the country, Living Waters has the absolute best selection of hackles, saddles and feathers that I have ever seen. You would be hard pressed to not be able to find what you are looking for on their glorious wall of feathers. The prices on the feather wall seemed to be inline with what you would expect for the quality offered. Outside of this section, the selection of fly tying materials is also top notch. There is tons to choose from and I have rarely found something out of stock. The prices tend to be a bit higher than you would expect from other shops but the availability makes up for it.

Just got my entire rig here today. Thanks to the staff who have me a wide range of options at a bunch of price points. Nobody pushed anything on me and allowed me to make my own decisions. That being said their knowledge was instrumental in finding the right rod reel and flies for where I will be fishing.

Very knowledgeable and helpful people. I came in looking for some files to catch bass on, and left with not only some excellent lures but some great suggestions that will help me catch more fish! Jim took the time to explain the difference that a proper, purpose-built fly line will make in helping to get a large,wind-resistant fly lure where you want it to go and do so without flailing the water.

Great service! I am just starting to fly fish and the owner helped me understand my gear. He did not try to sale me all kinds of equipment, but rather only sold me a few things that would allow me to get started and practice. Additionally, he took me outside and showed me how to cast my line. This is THE place to go for fly fishing!!!!

Jim did the lesson and Griffith did the guided trip. Both were awesome. The whole group was very easy to deal with. Would highly recommend them for guides, lessons and supplies!

I attended their intro to fly fishing seminar today and it was fantastic. The casting and rigging sessions were very clear and we’ll structured. The instructor/owner was very knowledgeable and made things very easy to understand and execute. I would highly recommend attending before making any type of investment in fly fishing.The shop was neat and has a comfy feel to it as well. The upstairs was used for the rigging session and was very easy to get a seat have a good visual for the demonstrations.I can’t wait to take my new found skills and chase some fish around.Well done!

I walked in today based on the recommendation of a friend of mine from Colorado and I was so impressed. I dont know that much about fly fishing but would love to get into it more. I was immediately greeted by Chris who was so helpful and genuine. An oasis of fly fishing tackle in Central Texas. Superman would be jealous of the amount of capes this place has. Firehole hooks and stones? Got it. Veevus Thread? Got it. Ahrex hooks? Got it. Petitjean CDC and tools? Oui. Went in to pick up a pair of Simms G3 wader and Flyweight boots and now I will likey never have to order Fly tying supplies on the internet again now that Ive found this shop.

This is one of the nicest fly shops around. The place is not an exclusive place, but helps anyone wanting to fly fish enjoy the sport. They have workshops on fly-fishing, fly tying, and travel. They carry what you need from someone that is on a budget, to some of the best equipment you can use. The owner and his wife started out small and never forgot where they started. The shop is a treasure when so many people are using the internet for their purchases. There is nothing like finding that one rod or materials that feels right to bring the joy of fly fishing or fly tying to your life.

GREAT Lessons! Just finished my first 1 on 1 lesson with Chris this week and I couldnt be happier with the results. He utilized his years of experience and excellent training skills to guide me through process of developing correct casting methods. His patience and encouragement provided an atmosphere of learning and growth. If you think youre an okay caster, see Chris and hell turn you into a great one!

Like the other reviews say, its about the people! Chris has a ton of information about local waters and loves to talk fishing. Matt ties some of the nicest flies Ive seen and always has great advice as to what to throw in the water. They cooperate with local clubs and also offer an array of awesome classes in addition to leading a fly tying group each Wednesday. Whether youre looking for equipment, info or just to talk fishing, this shop is the best Ive seen in the south.

This has been my favorite fly shop for the past 6 years since I moved to Austin. Chris and Emily know fly fishing in Central Texas better than anyone I know. They dont just know the standard flies, they know the flies which specifically produce in their area and in the typical hot spots around Austin. They are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The events are helpful, really informative, and FREE! The best part about the store is you dont feel like you have to buy anything, and you really dont have to, Chris and Emily want you to enjoy and appreciate the fly fishing opportunities as they do. Forget Cabelas and Bass Pro, come here, catch fish.

Chris and Emily are absolutely awesome! They are not experts on the products they sell, they know the local fishery so well they make sure you are choosing what it takes to get the job done. Highly recommend for beginners to experts, they will take care of you.

First off, how is it 4.9 stars when all reviews are 5 stars??Chris and Emily are friendly and have probably beaten the odds in making this business a success (unless one of them has a trust fund).The fly shop is well stocked and not cluttered with gimmicks and nonsense like so many of the western fly shops. They also ship!! I have ordered over the phone with them and they have had my items in Montana pretty quick. There are regular events that are also listed on the website. Im not very social, but it seems like a nice group of folks at the fly tying nights.This April I hired Chris to guide me and my daughter on the Llano. It was a good experience and one I would recommend.

The shop includes an array of flies useful for all of the local fisheries in central Texas. Likewise, they maintain an assortment of fishing gear and apparel from Freefly, Simms, and Fishpond. They are one of the only outfitters in the Central Texas that carry and are knowledgeable about Tenkara rods and fishing. In addition to carrying an impressive selection of fly tying material, those who work in the shop are eager to teach and very knowledgeable and helpful about all things fly fishing. Living Waters regularly offers fly fishing education on Saturdays and fly tying for all levels weekly. Check out their events page on their web site. My wife and I attended a full day series of workshops and learned a lot from shop owner Chris Johnson.
