Found a beautiful dog marketed as urgent. Filled out paperwork immediately. They called my vet and 4 references and then sent it to another rescue!! And, then people will judge me for wanting to go to a reputable breeder. This was heartbreaking and unprofessional.

I just want to give this rescue a 5 star review! I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Although they could not take in my pup, they helped me share her story and get her noticed. We now have a potential adopter for her thanks to this rescue! Thanks so much Barkville for sharing my Willow so we could find her the most perfect home. We reached out to so many other rescues and they were all very rude and didn’t even want to try to help, Barkville is truly a great rescue and cares about each animal not even the ones in their care.

I respect what they do and they seem like they help a lot of animals in need. They thoroughly screen candidates before adoption/ meet and greets which is nice. Missed out on adopting a pup because no one informed me that someone else was interested and had a meet and greet scheduled before mine. I think they should change that process to avoid people getting upset like me. Heart breaking, but that is the industry I guess.

I took a 6 year old male that needed heartworm treatment, had an ear infection and Barkville Dog Rescue did not only handle the medical expenses but are always available with answers and help. Not just does Barkville make sure the dog adjust well in the new home but also make sure the new family is good to go. Thank you, I love my Truman and he is getting better every day.🦮

If you do not mind answering many personal questions and providing 3 personal references then this is an excellent choice for animal rescue organizations. Personally I think all the questions are invasive but I understand why they have to ask them in todays society.

How do you not love rescue organizations?

This is such a wonderful rescue! They have the best volunteers and save dogs from high kill shelters all over Georgia.

Their adoption fee is outrageous!
