I applied for the COVID rental assistance Cares program in June to have my rent and light bill paid. I never heard a word back. After calling numerous times for several days I was able to get a lady Veronica to help me. By August, they had eventually mailed out 3 rent payments for $1000 each and light bills for those months as well totaling about $500. I did reapply for 3 additional months of assistance and since October they have been telling me it has been submitted, yet no more payments have gone out. I appreciate what they’ve done because without it I would definitely be lost. I just feel that with it being 3 days for 2021 that all the payments should have been mailed out by now. At this point, I spoke to someone 3 weeks ago and nothing has happened. I know it’s government assistance but to be 3 months behind on payments that are to help people not get evicted is frustrating. I’m going to continue to contact them because they did help before but now I’m getting worried about getting kicked out my place due to non payments.
I applied for Fort Bend county rental assistance back in March, these people are slower than a snail & very unorganized! They ask for things that already have submitted. I was finally told after 4 months that I was approved in May. Here we are in the end of June & my landlord has still not gotten paid . I was told that your case goes through multiple hands. I have email my case worker Robin Pigot many times. She answered few times then all of the sudden she was not in the office for weeks & no one was monitoring her emails . I had to go through several people to try get an answer about where my case was in the system? And what happened to my case worker. Here we are in June & my landlord still has not gotten paid. I am telling you if you are behind in your rent and facing eviction….. don’t depend on them to pay your rent anytime soon. This is the worst emergency assistance ( emergency? That’s a laugh! ) I have ever seen in Fort Bend county. By the way they I forget to mention how rude they are on the phone? They act like they hate their jobs or they just plainly don’t care about you !!!!
I received a call an email on August 14,2020 from Nicole Thompson Social Services Case Manager after applying for the covid relief program for rental/utilities assistance I spoke with Nicole through email that she was submitting my utilities to be processed that day and that they were only able to pay the current chargers and today is October 13, 2020 Nothing was paid, I have called and emailed her numerous times and left various messages and as of today I have not received a response. I am beyond livid and I will continue to write reviews I don’t care how long it’s been. And Fyi I still have the emails from this Nicole Thompson person
