They are awesome without them a lot of folks would go hungry and we really appreciate how they go out of their way to fix food plates thank yall would definitely recommend getting a plate there

Best place to restart new life!

We travel to this Salvation Army from Gadsden, AL about once a month. It’s always clean and fun to look around and see what kind of deals we can find. They have a big selection of purses (I love purses!) and they are priced at a great deal. They have a lot of name brand clothes and nice selections

I do not recommend shopping at The Salvation Army Store of Rome on Redmond Circle. I recently bought a sofa and oversized chair from them and after I got them home, I found out that they both are infested with BED BUGS! Understanding that the pieces were donated, I contacted the store’s management, and while apologetic, they refused to give a refund, full or partial, and basically told me to deal with it. This is a horrible way of doing business and both Major Kearns and Captain Jason Smith should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.Nicole Greene

Do NOT stay at the shelter here. Does not have handicapped access and is not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The manager, David Lively, has little administrative supervision and has become very complacent. He has arbitrary rules, as there are no written rules, and runs the place based on his emotions; you are basically subject to his whim. You have been warned. This is ONLY a shelter, nothing more. They offer no assistance with jobs, housing, or transitional support whatsoever. They do serve hot meals at 5:30 nightly, but be careful not to annoy Mr. Lively, as you risk being banned from the property! Literally.

If there was any minus stars it would be a -5. This place is a joke David lively and Curtis Chambers should be fired and sent back to the streets. David apparently hates the homeless cause on the days he cooks everything is cold and beans come straight from a just opened can which isnt cooked at all and most of his food isnt cooked. NOW Curtis actually cooks food and served some what hot. But as fit running this place both of them should be fired and put in jail after sleeping with the women or sexual favours just to continue to stay there or if they turn then down be kicked out back to the streets. I really dont think the captain nor the home office even knows how King David and the racist MF Curtis is running this place and are liable to have a lawsuit against the establishment. David and Curtis both have put women out for not giving them the sexual favours they ask and David has come on to not only women hes come on to men there too. THERE IS NO SALVATION IN THERE ARMY AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED ASAP. THEY BANNED INNOCENT PEOPLE FROM EATING OR HAVING A PLACE TO GO IN THE FUTURE OVER WHAT SOMEONE ELSE SAYS ABOUT THEM WITHOUT INVESTIGATING THE HERE SAY BEFORE BANNING THAT INDIVIDUAL FOR LIFE. GET THE TRUTH BEFORE SCREWING UP THEIR RIGHT TO GET COLD FOOD FROM THIS POS SHELTER.IF YOUR HOMELESS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS? THEY USE TO OFFER EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR EVERYONE BUT DO NOT OFFER IT AT ALL NOW. THEY TOOK DOWN THE EMERGENCY SHELTER SIGN AS IT LAYS ON THE GROUND IN THE BACK. GET IN TOUCH WITH HOME OFFICE AND MAKE YOUR COMPLAINT AGAINST THESE 2 EVIL PEOPLE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. IF NO ONE SPEAKS UP THEN THESE 2 WILL CONTINUE TO OVER RULE THEIR POWER AND KEEP BREAKING THE LAW AND RULES THEY CONTINUE TO DO. ONE DAY IT COULD BE YOU AND YOULL SEE HOW THEY RUN THIS PLACE.. Your better off going to jail to get better food and a clean bed to sleep on without bed bugs.HOME OFFICE SEND YOUR UNDERCOVER AGENTS HERE TO SEE WHATS REALLY GOING ON BEHIND YOUR CLOSED DOORS. HELP US GET BETTER TRAINED STAFF TO WELCOME ALL EQUALLY.ONE OTHER THING IF YOUR COMING OFF THE STREETS TO GET AWAY FROM THE DRUGS AND ALCOHOL THERE SHOULDNT BE A DRUG TEST RIGHT WHEN YOU ENTER THIS PLACE BUT BE TESTED 30 DAYS AFTER. NO OTHER SALVATION ARMY IN ALABAMA OR GEORGIA TEST PEOPLE GETTING AWAY FROM THE DRUGS BUT HERE THEY BAN YOU FOR 90 DAYS JUST FOR THEN TO SEND YOU BACK TO THE STREETS TO GET BACK ON THE DRUGS THAT YOUR TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM.

I ate there a few days ago because I was a little down and out and one of the members of management made me feel 2 inches big because I was a little down on my luck and needed a little bite to eat at the time I would never return there regardless of how just at you. I am they need to train the workers to have a better Outlook 1 people and their situation

Stayed at the shelter was homeless got a job but the job was on second shift and was told I had to leave office staff very helpful but shelter management needs to be overhauled for a church the atmosphere is far from it seen food thrown away when people asked if they was food left of they could have more was denied then food was thrown in the trash watched people leave crying because they was turned away and behind there backs say were not letting crack heads in here the bible warns about being a stumbling block in peoples lives shelter management needs to be replaced
