Reverse stopped working 2004 Ford F150, 70K miles. Dropped it off for inspection. They called me back 10 minutes later stating trans needs full rebuild, damage found inside, will cost $4,000. They could not have possibly removed the pan and inspected properly in 10 minutes. I researched these transmissions online (4R75). Bingo! Broken reverse band is a common Ford problem, and can be repaired separately without an overhaul or full rebuild. Had they looked and researched, they could have found the broken band by removing the pan and servo and confirming the anchor hole is broken. I borrowed my friends trans jack, dropped it myself, and opened it up. Band anchor laying next to the band, which explained the loss of reverse. I repaired it myself for less than $300 including gaskets and fluid, in about 10 total hours of work. Unfortunate and disappointing, since they were recommended to me.

I went in 5/4/2021 thinking I needed a starter. I was quoted $495, by David. Later in the day David called me back and and said that I didnt need a starter.I had a dead battery and that needs to be replaced. So now everything in total would be $220.How awesome is that. Im very pleased and already referred a couple of friends.Thanks David.

I am extremely grateful I found RPT to work on my 1956 Chevy Bel Air. I cracked my Tran case, two speed power glide so wanted options. Fix? Or upgrade? I eventually chose to upgrade with 700R4 transmission. Dave kept his word for cost and delivery date. He even grounded the transmission to the chassis. He researched all issues, called and discussed each one. I am completely satisfied with their service and wholeheartedly recommend them for anything related to transmission work. If you have a classic and need service or replacement/ upgrade, use this shop. Locally owned and HONEST.

So my boyfriend just bought his first car(used)And within a few days one of the headlights were out.So first, he went to Pepboys and of course, they said it would be 140$... just to replace a bulb.. outrageous i know!So he goes to this lovely place and they gave him such a great deal!He said the lady up front was so sweet and he would be going here for any future needs. 2 and a half years ago, I took my car to Oil stop in Petaluma and they destroyed my transmission by not leaving the cap on my transmission fluid and eventually had to buy me a whole new transmission at this establishment. Rohnert Park Transmission gave me a 2 year warranty for the transmission and I went on my merry way. Literally, just half a year after my warranty was up, the speed sensors in my truck are presenting a major issue in the transmission. The sensors are an integral part of the transmission. Mind you, this transmission issue was none of my fault in the first place due to Oilstop. Rohnert Park Transmission wouldnt honor the warranty due to being 6 months out which on some level I understand, however none of this is my fault and they are asking a whopping $1300 from me for an issue that should not be there in a brand new transmission just a couple years after they put it in. The gentleman on the phone said if it was their fault that the issues wouldve happened at the beginning, but they do not know that for sure and I honestly think its an excuse. I have a feeling everything could have not been put together correctly when they installed it which makes sense that the issue could take time to present but ultimately always be there from the beginning. Those sensors should still be good after 2.5 years being new, they should not have problems like these due to age. Covid has been very hard for us all, and me especially. They gave me a transmission that only lasted until half a year after a short two year warranty and trying to charge me an absurd amount to fix it. How convenient. All in all, im sure they do great work on cars, but the service or level of care i got was far from great considering the fact that i asked for none of this to happen, and there is no way to rectify if they made a mistake and is too convenient in their favor. Definitely make sure youre not a day out of warranty because they will most likely not give a damn.

Rohnert Park Transmission replaced my clutch and I am very happy with the service they gave me. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs transmission work done on their car.I was in a unique situation where I needed to know a general estimate for the work without bringing the car in for an inspection (I was out of town and needed to decide if I needed to drive/borrow a car to return to the area). I called multiple autoshops asking about for an estimate for a clutch replacement, and no one would give me a number except for Rohnert Park Transmission - everyone else wanted $120+ just to inspect it, even though I told them and knew my clutch was burned out.Rohnert Park Transmission was very helpful from the start; over the phone and in person, and took care of my car quickly. Completely trustworthy competent mechanics. My car was leaking a bit of oil after transmission replacement. RP transmission diagnosed it as a leaking rear main seal which they had replaced originally so they had me bring it in, remove the transmission and replaced the main seal again. Because they had done it Originally there was absolutely no charge for fixing it. They could have easily hid behind the problem but didnt.

If I could give more stars I would. David and his team have been nothing but awesome! We were traveling down to the city from Eureka and my car broke down on a Friday night. We called around on Saturday morning looking for someone that could look at it. We were completely unsuccessful, even with the local Ford dealerships, until the team at Rohnert Park Transmission answered our call. And let me say that they are not normally open on Saturdays but someone happened to be there and answered the phone. From that moment, they were AMAZING!!! We had to wait for a tow truck and they said they would wait for us so they could make sure they could move my car inside for the weekend. Though, they couldnt look at it over the weekend, we were able to move on with our weekend knowing they would look at it first thing Monday morning. And true to their word, David called me around 9am on Monday morning and confirmed what we thought it might be. He quoted us a super reasonable rate and very similar to what we had read it may be online. And in the end, the quote he gave was more than it ended up costing. He couldve totally charged us that extra amount and never told us. They even worked with me to come up with a plan for me to pick it up since I was traveling down from Eureka over the weekend. Thats how you run a business and gain clients for life! Because of Davids honesty and communication, I would recommend Rohnert Park Transmission in a heartbeat to anyone who asked.

I’ve had problems with rats chewing the wiring harness in my Dodge 3500 causing shifting issues with my automatic transmission. Dave and his crew have always worked hard to get the truck fixed and back to work. They’ve even repaired some issues under warranty without me even asking.
