Popped in without appt and repaired in 5 min. it would have taken me days to try to figure out how to remedy my computer situation. I always get very valuable and efficient help. I love this place.
They have great customer service and knowledgeable staff.
I used the services of GeekSquad at the Rockville store to restore a corrupted laptop. Their services were extremely subpar compared to the level of expertise experienced when consulting with the GeekSquad members at the Gaithersburg location. Will avoid using this store in the future. For more experienced support, Gaithersburg is always on the mark.
While my ASUS laptop from 2012 had an integrated graphics card issue that could not be solved due to the lack of parts for its age, I was assisted by Tim and Jeff over at Geek Squad to get a newer Republic of Gamers laptop that was on sale + open-boxed!!The overall kindness from these two, being attentive to my computer issues and guiding me through the process (even though in the end, the older laptop could not be fixed) is reason enough for me to give them both a pat on the back!
Best Buy is an “authorized Apple repair location” so I decided to use their location to replace my IPhone battery.Long story short - BIG MISTAKE.I had set up an appointment the day before and arrived 10 minutes early. After waiting approximately 15 MINUTES just to be seen, I am then redirected to another area to go. After waiting 10 more minutes for a representative, I am then told that they do not have any iPhone battery’s in stock.I then ask to speak to the manager “Ron Basso” and he tells me that essentially there is nothing he can do.I am extremely frustrated by the experience and would like to be compensated for my time.
My computer no longer recognized my external hard drive and it contained some important files. So I took it to Geek Squad in the hopes that they could help me. They spent 5 minutes looking at it and then told me it was basically dead. They said they could send it out to try to have the files recovered but there was no guarantee the files could be retrieved. Plus it would cost me between $500 to $1000 to do the process. I told them I would think about it.A few days later I took it to the Best Buy on Shady Grove Road to have the Geek Squad there take a look at it. They changed a few of the settings and then showed me all my files were fine and undamaged. I took it home and made back ups of all my files.Go to the team at the Shady Grove location. They are great.
Agents are uniformly efficient, effective and friendly. The service is excellent and, compared to others I have used in the past, very reasonably priced.
I will say that i went in to get my computer refiged for my 9 year old son. They told me not to waste my money and recommended I go down the street to another story and buy him a $200 computer. Maybe it was just that tech but I appreciated his advice.

Overall I find Geek Squad members very good technically, respectful, and friendly. Occasionally something has not been done to my total satisfaction but they have always eventually fixed whatever problem there was.
Called to cancel my phone warranty. Instead they cancelled warranty for my husbands phone that was purchased two weeks ago and claimed that the warranty for my phone was cancelled a year ago for non payment. Nonsence! Never acknowledged that they made a mistake. Horrible service, horrible company. Never again I will purchase any service from Best Buy Geek Squad!
As usual, the Geek Squads only repair recommendations for any problem are the purchase of a new computer.
