This review is a long time coming. I have taken my vehicles to Bill Hamm for over ten years. He has always done excellent work, including major 90,000-mile service completed on my 2011 Sonata on 1/16/17. His pricing is very good, and I find him and his mechanics to be very competent and honest. I have my mom and sister take their Ford Escape and Toyota Avalon, respectively, to his shop, and they’ve always been completely satisfied with his work. I highly recommend using his car care center for all your automotive needs.

They are honest and caring, they educate you on the issues your vehicle may be having and explain things thoroughly. Great auto repair place. Theyre very honest and do great work. The owner is very patient and will explain the work that needs to be done and doesnt need to be done.

I do not recommend using Bill Hamms Car Care Center. They tried to fix my car twice, keeping it in the shop for days on end. It was like pulling teeth to get status from them and they ultimately kept delaying with a new excuse every day. Both times when they finished the job, the issue wasnt fixed. They still charged me despite my protests, claiming that they did work on my car and spent money on parts. Im not the car expert and dont know what parts need to be replaced - thats what I trust mechanics to diagnose. I paid a Ford dealer to fix, and they said this shop was crazy for even trying to resolve the issue which requires special tools which not many shops in the area have. Bill Hamms - what a nightmare.

I called around to a few local shops in the Rockville area to get a rough estimate on replacing a rear brake caliper on a 2008 Honda Civic. Bills estimate was the most reasonable and the actual complete repair cost was even lower! Having just relocated here, Ive been looking for a shop I can trust to give me a fair price and do the work competently and without surprises.I had made an appointment for the job, but had trouble getting my insurance Road Side Assistance tow to show up on time. Bill was very accomodating, finally getting to the car as a night drop and in the shop the next morning. I asked him to do an oil change as well, since the car was due, already up on the lift and I had already bought the oil and filter. Again he charged me a very fair price for that.Im impressed by his integrity, honesty, reliability and flexibility. This is the kind of shop I have been looking for. Plus, if youre into wildlife photography, his waiting room will impress you, as he is an avid and active photographer.

I have been using Bill for about 7 years now. The difference between Bill and some of the dealer service shops is night and day. Bill is always honest and reliable and has stopped me from doing expensive repairs that the dealers have insisted I have to do when I dont have too.
