Our 5 year old son is doing amazing in Master An’s little ninja class. It has helped with his anxieties, he’s listening better, and achieving in more aspects in his life. We can’t wait to see Kane prosper so much more. We can’t thank Master An or Master Matt enough.

My daughter loves the little ninja program! She looks forward to it every week. She is very shy and not into team sports, so this is perfect for her. Master An and Mr Matt are friendly and very patient with the kids. Her confidence and self esteem has improved and she is more outgoing and social, thanks to Rockford Academy.

One of the best TaeKwonDo schools in the area. Being apart of this program since I was 8 yrs old and then back as an adult; the great quality of training, encouragement, wisdom, teachings, and community still lives within me. We were very pleased with our boys starting Tae-Kwon-Do. Master An and Mr. Matt are so patient with the children. They push them to do their best for each class. Master An gives them various skills to practice throughout the week. The boys have earned their first belt through practice and hard work. They were proud of themselves and are so confident in their ability to defend themselves. The boys look forward to attending class every week.

I began Taekwondo about 2 months ago and it has been great! I’ve learned new techniques, forms and have strengthen my body. The instructors are very patient and encourage all of us to do our best. The members are welcoming and will help you if you need it. I highly recommend!

Love the atmosphere. Much more than what I expected. Not only do you learn martial arts but also are given life lessons and motivation for everyday life. I love that when asking about pricing they had us come down and try it out 1 on 1 to ensure it was a fit for our family.

We started with little ninjas class at the rochelle rec and it was the best decision we made as a family! The instructors are amazing with kids of all ages and do a great job at making them feel important. The things that hooked us is the focus on self discipline, confidence and respect of self and others.

Starting Tae Kwon Do has been one of the best decisions I’ve made! I see myself becoming more flexible and sociable, I dislike being away from family but I’ve adapted because Rockford Academy adopted me with open arms into their family! My daughter and I started about two months ago and we could not be happier. I thought being 55 years old it would be impossible to learn something new.but the masters are so patient with us. If you dont get something right away they will show you as many times as it takes .they understand you will not learn this art overnight. All I can say is thank you guys

We are so glad to be apart of Rockford Academy! When the pandemic started we wanted to find a activity for our daughter that would give her something to look forward to and keep her busy. I HIGHLY recommend this academy. Master An is very kind, very informative and very caring. We have been with them for almost a year. I love the fact that family is very important to them. They involve the whole family. We signed my son up and we saw noticable changes in his behavior, self esteem and his confidence in a short time. I loved the changes I saw in my son and decided to sign my oldest daughter up and then I started myself. If you are on the fence about this program or academy, or if you are wondering if it is a good place. Yes, it is a great place, call the academy and speak to them. You will be happy you did. We (family of 5) have enjoyed the experience since day 1. My 2 sons are having fun while learning discipline and respect in the little ninjas class. My teenage daughter actually wants to spend time with us when we go to the adult class. You are not just a number being pushed through the door to help the bottom line. Master An and Mr.Matt are very kind and patient. They are always willing to answer questions about things you’ve already learned or maybe you are just curios about. I thought coming from ballet would be very hard because of how different the two types of trading are. I was surprised by how easy it was with their help. The atmosphere in this dojang is always calm and it is a very inviting place to be. I was able to be promoted after six classes. I am happy we decided to learn here and can’t wait for the many more classes to come.

I’ve been in 6 classes and just completed my first promotion to Orange belt ! I think that says alot for Master An and Mr. Matt and their training style. It also shows that I’m learning something I’ve been curious about. If you put in the time and keep practicing it’s very rewarding.The Dojang has good vibes, which makes it hard to leave at end of class. It’s clean and inviting.Here’s to many more accomplished Belts with them !!

Not only is the environment good for both kids and adults, but they do their best to pace for each student. For shorter classes, every minute counts and you get your most out of them.

My daughter loves taking classes with Master An and Mr. Matt! They have done an amazing job keeping connected with the kids even with everything that is going on and have found ways to continue classes.

I was in Master Ans classes back when I was a kid. I loved going there because I made friends and I felt like I was on top of my world. After awhile my mom got really sick and was not doing so well because she was diagnosed with an enlarged heart working at 15% of what It was suppose to and it did get better but not for years after. Her being fine now thank god but because of it I was forced to stop because we couldnt afford the time and money to get there. I am 21 now but I still have my bow staff which is way smaller than me because I am now 64 and my outfit/belts and my trophies I had got at tournaments. Sadly one of my trophies broke in the move but I will still hold onto them because they do still hold meaning to me. Also learning what I did I can still say I remember a lot of what I learned that I didnt think I did. I live in Chicago currently and for the first time I had to use what I learned back in your class. It was almost like a reaction I didnt think I had anymore. I was Jumped by 6 people leaving a subway station after I had got off of work and I was hit a few times but they had it worse than me. I felt like I knew what I was doing. Old muscle memory kicking in and I was doing damage. Your class saved my life. Master An and Master Matt I thank you. 🙇

My daughter has been a Little Ninja for almost a year and she has learned respect and discipline. Master An and Mr. Matt are awesome at encouraging the kids to try their hardest while boosting their confidence. My daughter has already competed in two Championships and did amazing. One of the Championships she was invited to go with to compete in Chicago and Master An was there to help assist and root-on his Little Ninjas. So would I recommend this school. My answer is DEFINITELY YES.

Master An and Mr. Matt have been exceptional instructors for my daughter. We usually attend Tae Kwon Do lessons through Freeport Park District, then COVID hit and lock-down ensued. Master An and Mr. Matt were able to adjust their teaching to be online and helped provide some routine for many of their students in Rockford and Freeport through Zoom multiple days a week! Though communication is sometimes unclear, their effort is always exceptional. Words cannot express how grateful I am for them and their willingness to keep teaching self-discipline and Tae Kwon Do during difficult times. After a year of lessons, my daughter has loved every minute of taking lessons from both instructors! She is 6.

Great place and very friendly. the instructors are hands on and make your child feel so proud of themselves even if they are brand new and dont know much. my son was so shy to participate at first but I have seen him thrive in the couple of sessions that we have had. the atmosphere is great and encouring.

Both of my girls started attending TaeKwonDo lessons this summer and they love it. The lessons are different every time, so it does not get boring. They are challenging, but not overwhelming. Master An is very passionate and kids admire him. He tries to teach them not only self defense, but also how to be respectful and responsible (love the “good deeds book”).Would definitely recommend this class

My parents signed me up when I was 3 and its honestly one if the best things thats ever happened to me. Not only have I learned how to defend myself but Ive also learned respect and how to be tough and be kind. I love the teachers, I love the exercise, I love the place just Everything about it is amazing. The things they teach you is so very important and I really dont think you can get that anywhere else. I love the feeling of passion from them and the atmosphere of the place and from everyone. You just learn so much its just an amazing place. To me its like my other home

We have been going to Rockford academy of tae Kwon do for about 2 years and we love it. My daughter was very shy and coming here has really helped her. She is more confident in herself and pushes herself every class she attends. Master An is amazing with the children. He teaches them good morals and that they should respect others . I highly recommend coming here. Also my daughter is going for her black belt which speaks volumes to me since she was so shy and didnt even want to participate the first few weeks . She absolutely loves it now !

This place is a joke, we signed are son up for classes at the belvidere rec center. They got 6 out of the 10 capacity for the classes. Instructor cancelled the entire course right on the spot and told us we could get refund! Horrible thing to do a person let alone a child. Would not recommend to anyone.

You can learn forms here, get a work out, and do some light tae kwon do tournament sparring. You may even convince yourself that youre a little black belt. You will learn to lose against someone who wrestled for a few months in high school.

My son Elijah has been with this academy for over a year and a half and loves it. They have treated me and my son with much respect and my son has learned so much and is currently a Red/Black belt. im a single mom with 2 kids its hard for me to afford his testings.Master Sop An has been so helpful in getting a fundraiser for my son to help pay for his testings im truly grateful for his help this is by far one of the best places in Rockford i would def. recommend going We love it : )

Amazing!!! Master An has the most amazing patience with the little kiddos that I have ever seen,and his staff, well made trainers.They done well with my son, and I will continue taking him there for as long as he still loves it.

He is a good salesman, all what they care about is drain your pocket, testing every 6 weeks for $50, kids cant lean any thing in 6 weeks, but he is taking there money.30 kids in one class and they are doing the same thing.poor management they never answer there phone.

I have been doing kick boxing at Rockford Academy for about 6 yrs, and just started doing Tae Kwon Do there as well about 4 months ago. The kick boxing workouts are intense and effective; I gained 80 pounds while I was pregnant with my son, and I was able to lose it all, thanks in large to the help of Master An and Matt.The Tae Kwon Do workouts are equally as intense, but engage your mind as well as your body. I find that so much of what I am learning in class is also applicable to many aspects of life outside of class.The instructors are always willing to work with you if you have questions, and their passion for what they do, as well as a genuine care for their students, is very evident.

I chose Rockford Tae Kwon Do Academy because Master An is very hands on with the children. Master An has shown that he is fully vested in developing my sons ability to learn the discipline of Tae Kwon Do, as well as master skills that he can take with him throughout his life such as respect for himself and others. It is refreshing to have a safe place that is assisting me in nurturing the skills that I am instilling in my son at home.

We found Rockford Academy to help our kindergartener focus at school. We knew that Tae Kwon Do would reinforce the values that we teach at home and also be a great way for exercize for our two sons. Soon after the boys started the Little Ninjas class, my husband and I also joined the Rockford Academy. He also does TKD and I took UBC classes. We are all in the best shape of our life and our happy to see our children grow in confidence and ability. Truly, the Tenets of TKD: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverence, Self-Control and Indominable Spirit reflect what we teach at home.

My son has attended Rockford Academy for almost 2 years. He LOVES Tae-Kwon-Do. Last night, He tested and earned his Little Ninja 2nd phase Black Belt. Master An teaches the kids about Respect, Confidence, Good behavior, doing daily unselfish good deeds, Morals, and much more. The Academy does fundraisers to raise money to make scholorship for kids who want to join. They have yearly Championships for the kids to show what theyve learrn and are awarded trophies. These kids work hard every class and learn some very important lessons. Master An offers a trial period, to make sure Tae Kwon Do is something you really want to do and like...my son was hooked after the 1st class.
