Usually not one to complain and this is partially my own fault for just going with the flow and not being honest about the satisfaction of my service when I was at the salon so I do take full accountability for that. However, this was my first time here and I booked a cut and color/partial highlight so I would have the time to get all the services I wanted to be done, done. I discussed and was open with the stylist that I knew I had balding on the crown of my head and I asked about color and/or highlights and I was disappointed to hear we wouldn’t be doing the highlighting at all, not even a balayage where the crown of my head wouldn’t be touched by the highlights. That wasn’t even offered as a possibility it was just like “no, no color today.” So ok I said no color is fine and said to just do the cut. The cut looks nothing like what I showed the stylist. No choppy layers...took her all of 5 minutes to put the “layers” in my hair before she began blow drying and I also paid for a style and just got my hair blown out not curled cute or anything like other salons have done no questions asked. The cut was not done as expected, the color was disappointing to be shut down and told no to, and I paid $55 plus tip for something I immediately went to another salon to fix for a (free, mind you) consultation where they were able to do everything I had originally wanted and at a discounted price even though it wasn’t really their issue to begin with. I should’ve just been honest while I was there instead of being concerned about being polite. I felt the whole appointment was rushed, the stylist had her sister there shampooed and ready for a cut watching my whole appointment as if my appointment was somehow cutting into her being squeezed into the stylists schedule...just all around a not so great experience. Not what I’d expect from an expensive downtown Rochester salon.

I went to have a facial with Sonja. She is not only good at her job but she is also a very nice person. The facial is also very safe. The room is clean. Sonja will ask you what you are allergic to before the facial. If you have very sensitive skin that is not a problem. You will come out of the adventure feeling wonderful with healthy glowing skin. She also suggests products to use for times in between facials that helps your face both look and feel better. I always enjoy my facial experience. I am planning to continue with my facial routines because they are worth it.

I’m always nervous trying out new salons. Walking through the door I was immediately greeted with a beautiful smile by the receptionist Dori, and instantly felt welcomed and comfortable. Every stylist I had any interaction with was beyond friendly and helpful. I also loved that Christina (the owner) popped over to make sure my experience was meeting my expectations. She is fantastic. My hair is long but not haggly, smooth and silky, and such a good cut that even I can style my own hair. The salon is clean and the staff friendly. What a jewel.

Ive been client of Kimi K Salon for couple years now. Rudina is my stylist and also stylist of the rest of my family (husband and daughter). She is super professional and super fun. I trust her professional opinion, she `s always right about the products she recommends me to use on my hair. I love my hair style, color and highlights, and I guess everybody else likes it too because wherever I go I receive lots of compliments. Kimi K has a very friendly environment. I always enjoy my time there. Front desk staff is very supportive when you need a very last minute appointment rescheduling.

I absolutely loved my first experience here. I came in for a pedicure and Robin helped me. We had chatted nearly the entire time and she made me feel so comfortable, like we knew each other for years! She taught me how to take care of my feet on my own and kept checking up on me to make sure the file wasnt hurting me, the water/towels werent too warm, etc. She would say my name a lot in her conversation which tells me she wants to get to know me and treat me like an individual, not a number. A customer for ten years at the prior location and Main Street location, the salon has seemingly lost the ability to keep good stylists. The quality of cut has significantly declined with each stylist that leaves the salon. I can easily get a $10 haircut without paying $25 for it.

I have standing appointments at Kimi K salon in Rochester for shellac mani, pedicures, color, cut and style on a monthly basis for over 10 years now, started in the old Troy location and moved with them a few years ago. I love the salon, the owners and the staff but most of all I love Kimberly for mani-pedi. They make you feel like family and know your name and your life stories too, because they care. Kimberly is the main reason I followed the salon after the move from Troy. She is the best at pedicures, I will not let anyone else cut my toe nails, she is a pro and truly enjoys her job. Irina does my hair and she is the greatest with color, at age 64 it is not easy to get the true color look but I have it and get compliments all the time on how young I look. They are work together to get you the services you need even if you add some service while you are there. This is just my favorite place to enjoy relaxation and great services too while being pampered by a caring team of pros.
