They wore face masks to protect themselves and me from COVID-19. They explained to me what they were going to do, before doing it. They worked every minute they were here. Once they finished their work, they were very transparent and honest about what additional repairs and maintenance still needed to be done. They answered all my questions. We have used this firm for two years. We initially used them to do some chimney masonry repair. They did a professional job and thoroughly explained what they were doing. Since they indicated they would automatically check up on the repair this year, we asked them to do the chimney cleaning and an inspection. Again, they were thorough and professional - from office staff to field staff. My chimney has never been so clean and we received a complete inspection report - with photos. They also were careful to make sure that they protected the interior of the house from any dirt and made sure everything was in good order before they left. We are satisfied customers and are already on the list for next year.

My chimney has been in bad shape for a number of years. They did a complete inspection, and recommended changing out the liners as they were over 20 years old. I had issues with my a/c not cooling to temp. Our HVAC company then determined that my chimney that the A/C and furnace were connected to had a blockage and this was sending hot air back into our furnace and house and a dangerous situation. I contacted Four Winds and although they were booked into August Maria found an appointment for me within one week due to how serious an issue this was. Both the women I had dealings with (Maria and Amy) were charming and very helpful. Brenden was the tech that first came to determine the issue. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and guaranteed me it would be done quickly. The next day I received a call for the work to be scheduled within 4 days. It turned out that Brenden had a job a few days earlier that they could get me in even sooner. That day both Brenden and Collin showed. Within no time, the job was done. The work area was protected and you wouldnt have even known they were there. This company is a 5 star rating I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Nathan & Jason were very professional, covered the roof to protect it, and matched mortar repairs very well! They showed me photos of the repairs when complete, and reviewed the itemized list of what was repaired. When they were done, they left the house and yard as they were when they arrived. I would recommend them to anyone as they do quality work!I contacted Four Winds Masonry and Chimney to complete a Chimney liner installation and to re-pipe the existing Furnace and Water heater pipes to bring them up to code, as they vent into the Chimney. The installation was excellent and they completed the job in a timely, friendly, and professional manner. However, after they left, I noticed that a chair in the basement was covered with soot and grime, as if someone used it to stand on or put tools on, Im not sure. I was angry about this, as it is an antique chair, over 100 years old, and was just being kept in the basement for storage purposes. My happiness with the company definitely decreased after discovering that. Why not just use your own company equipment and not a chair that happens to be in the basement, which was not even close to the furnace or water heater? And then to put it back in the position it was in, as if I wouldnt notice it being used. It was covered in grime!

My stone steps were in need of repair after the masonry deteriorated over the years. Four Winds did an outstanding job repairing the steps to withstand the continual wear and tear while looking like the original steps (my house is over 100 years old). They have the expertise and do quality work. I highly recommend them for this type of work and for servicing fireplaces (they did an outstanding job last year on repairing my fireplace).

Excellent communication, timeliness, and service! We received multiple reminders of our appointment via text and email starting about a week out. We found them very helpful and not obtrusive. The day of our appointment, Nathan called on his way and arrived promptly at the start of our appointment timeframe window. He was extremely personable, explained everything he was going to do before he started, followed through, and took a good amount of time writing up a very detailed report of his findings, complete with close-up, high-quality photos. Prior to his departure, Nathan reviewed his presentation with my husband and I in detail and offered his professional recommendation of the work that is necessary and which areas were optional. He separated the estimates for the masonry work and installation of the gas insert. We promptly received all of the documents via email, along with financing options. There is a reason they do not provide free inspections - Nathan was at our home for 2 hours and put in substantial work for us. We cannot wait to have our chimney repairs and gas fireplace insert done by Four Winds! We are thrilled with their service already!

My technician, Nate, was the perfect combination of professionalism, friendliness and knowledge. His report was very detailed, complete with photos that he took of the inside and outside of my chimney. It was very helpful to actually see the deterioration than just verbally hearing about it. He sat down and explained what he did today and what I needed done in the future. He helped me prioritize the repairs so that I could make an intelligent decision. The company later emailed me the report so I could have it for reference. After Nate left, I was very confident that I had chosen the right company! I would highly recommend their services!

If these guys tell you ANYTHING...get a second and third opinion. If you have already had them do work for you, get a second and third opinion of what they did. They quoted me over $4500 for an elaborate (cool sounding) chimney cleaning procedure when all I needed was the usual basic cleaning. They exaggerated the conditions of the chimney seemingly attempting to play on my fears. It sounded logical but ended up being a crock. I spoke to all the other local (Rochester) companies and without me even saying the business name...all of them knew who I was talking about. My opinion? Do everything you can to avoid this company.

Had an inspection and cleaning performed. The employees were very knowledgeable and personable. Was given a $9000 estimate, with the byline of we can work with your home owners insurance. You really should have this liner, even my father, was, “why it works fine, why do I need it?”, but you’ll get so much more flow, your fireplace will work better than ever. Contacted my my insurance company and was told that they would have to send out an independent inspector and if that inspector deemed the the cracked flue panel was not because of an one time occurrence, claim would be denied and I would take a hit on my policy because I made a claim. Called the inspector and he said absolutely it occurred from a one time occurrence, wanted back up from the owner for something in writing, after review of the inspection photos, that, yes, that was from a one time occurrence. I’m not making a claim and having my rates go up for no reason. Called two days in a row with no contact from owner. The quote had an option for a re-quote, I asked to just have specific work performed. Radio silence.After having received a call from the owner and understanding the circumstances of his delayed response, which were very legitimate, I was pleased with our conversation and proceeded to have the work completed. Again, the employees were very knowledgeable, professional and personable. Answered my question that I had during the process and after the work was complete. Very respectful of the home in general as there was no post cleaning to be done once the job was complete and they were gone.

Nate performed a detailed chimney inspection and confirmed that we have dangerous creosote build up in the flue. He also did an inspection of the exterior and provided detailed pictures of everything. We then received 2 quotes to perform the recommended repair services. Anthony and his crew installed a wood stove chimney liner in an existing chimney at our house. Was a tricky job as there was an offset in the existing chimney. Did a great job. His crew has been cleaning it yearly and always do a good job.

We hired Four Winds to do a routine chimney sweep. After cleaning, Anthony noted significant damage due to a creosote fire in the chimney making the fireplace dangerous and unusable. We contracted with them to install a fireplace sleeve. The team that arrived were highly professional and we were impressed with their work ethic, working almost non-stop for the install period. Needed the top of my chimney rebuilt. Vinny came out and gave a very reasonable and detailed estimate. I scheduled the job. A few days before the scheduled day he called and said he could come out a couple of days ahead of time. I agreed and he and another fellow arrived. The job took maybe 3 hours. Brenden was great! First he showed up early to the appointment, calling first to make sure that was ok. After getting some information about my wood burning insert, he cleaned and inspected it. He found that the crown on the chimney was cracking and letting water into the chimney. He was able to seal it that day. After he was done he emailed an entire report with pictures of the inspection and work performed. Im very happy with the service and would recommend Four Winds to others who need chimney/fireplace services.

We had Four Winds Masonry & Chimney come out and clean our chimney and flue. The tech was very clean and did a very good job controlling any dust and dirt that was present during the cleaning. From the first phone call with Maria to the estimate done by Vinny and emails and calls with Anthony, everyone was professional, kind and knowledgeable - every step of the way. It was impressive to watch Vinny and Brandon rebuild the chimney. They were so exacting - checking measurements and levels at each stage. They are true professionals and skilled craftsmen. One might get the job done for less, but you get what you pay for. If you want professional results, hire Four Winds! They will be back to do our front steps in the Spring!

Four Winds did a very thorough cleaning and full inspection. They uncovered some issues that need to be addressed. I was very impressed with the time they took to share their findings and review all the pictures both internally and externally. Very professional. I would definitely recommend them.

The men that came out today for my wood stove inspection and cleaning were very helpful, gave me all the info I needed and explained everything in detail with pictures. They were both very professional. Would highly recommend and will be using Four winds in the future.

The worker arrived on time and was friendly. We appreciated how quickly, quietly, and cleanly the whole process went. He wore booties over his shoes and covered anything around the stove that could get dirty. Everything was as clean as before when he left, and more importantly, the wood stove and flue were cleaned out. Thanks!

If I could rate this company higher than 5 stars I would. First impressions are everything. Communication is unbelievable. My estimate was scheduled for between 5-6 on the Friday before Memorial Day. Vinny called and said he would be at my house closer to 6:00. My schedule date had to be changed. The job they were working on was more involved. They called me 5 days in advance. What company does that?On the day of job, Vinny called to let know they were on their way.The chimney work was excellent. The chimney looks awesome. They cleaned up so well, you would never know they were here. They protected my landscaping, and porch railing.Two people stopped by to get a business card. I told them all of the above information.I felt their price was fair.

The Four Winds Team was very professional, kept the area clean, and took the time to explain the work that they recommended for our chimney. I also appreciated the call letting me know theyd be 15-20 minutes late. We were very happy with the cleaning and inspection. Although we arent moving forward with the repair work at this time, we will revisit with Four Winds in the future.

Vinny and crew were very professional. Initially, called them to clean the chimney. They did that very efficiently and then let me know that the chimney needed to have work done. They showed me pictures and gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be done which was several thousand dollars. Reluctantly, I agreed as I had to trust them. When, they came back to do the work I was told it was going to require more work than what I was quoted. That added another couple thousand dollars. Vinny was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. Called prior to coming, cleaned up area, wore booties and mask while in the house. What started out as a simple chimney cleaning became very expensive. However, I know that It was worth it in the long run.

The crew showed up on time, were very informative kept me informed throughout. I am awaiting custom stainless cap. Work appears excellent. This company has several projects in the area of Edgewood Avenue area of Brighton NY. This was the first of 4 contractors to follow through on my project.
