We used Steve Mellor and his remodeling crew on several large remodel projects this summer and each experience was great. Steve is a consummate professional in all aspects. I have been in this business for years and it’s hard to find honest, consistent, quality contractors and Steve is all of the above. Would highly recommend him for any project.

My neighbor highly recommended Steve and their bathroom remodel was gorgeous so I gave them a try on our rental bathroom remodel. It also turned ouf great. Steve was very responsive and also picked up the tub and toilet for us. We had a couple of kinks but they responded and resolved them very quickly. I will use them again on the bathroom remodel in my home.

Steve was a delight to work with. He remodeled our kitchen for 4 months. The job required taking the kitchen down to the studs. Part way through demolition he uncovered major structural flaws that had been causing our home to sag for years-and we didn’t know why. He was quick to suggest solution. Pleasantly he worked on this unforeseen problem which was not part of the original scope of the project. He went above and beyond to insure we were happy with the job. Steve is a very talented artist. He can demolish drywall plumbing electrical wood work install cabinets and appliances. He willingly works with other vendors to insure the job is done right for the customer. IE granite installation. We couldn’t be happier with the final product of our (MY-who am I kidding) dream kitchen, beautifully designed by David Senise. It’s beautiful!!! Steve is prompt and responsive with phone calls and messages. Honestly you’d be lucky to have Steve work on your project!! He started out as our contractor and has now become our friend.

Steve just completed our kitchen oven and rangetop install/replace that required some specific woodwork/matching and surrounding granite modifications. Top notch work!His communication, follow through, and attention to detail were as impressive as his craftsmanship. Super responsive and consistent in communications every step. Attached are photos or our kitchen now and before Steve and his crew took us from the 1940s to today! Although we are far from wealthy, this work was worth every penny. Once started, they worked through to completion without long breaks, and their work was meticulous. Now Im saving my pennies for a bathroom remodel!

Steve was fantastic to work with and implemented my vision down to the smallest of details. He was also flexible in the process and was able to modify the original plans for my bathroom remodel since we had some challenges with fixture placement with sloped walls/ceilings in my tudor-style home. Got the job done right and very quickly, respecting the fact that this was my only full bathroom in the house!

My project was a total gut and remodel of the master bathroom including a steam room. I had three other contractors come to look at my project before Steve. When Steve came to look at it, I knew that he would be my choice. He had a casual confidence about him that reassured me. He had experience installing steam rooms, which was a must. I also like the fact that he and his son, Stephen were the only ones that would be working on the project. Steve transformed our outdated 90’s kitchen into a more functional gathering space for our family. We are beyond happy with our new custom kitchen and updated living room area. Steve and his son worked as a team to make our kitchen design a reality along with Jack Maas from VP Innovations. We originally thought we needed an addition, but Steve was able to literally move our wall 2ft into the garage to give us the space we needed. We had a weird half door pantry above the stair wall that Steve was able to fit a broom closet, cabinets and a built-in microwave. Steve is a true professional craftsman, and he takes great pride in his work. We loved his attitude of “not a problem” and his taste in music! We highly recommend working with Steve to remodel your home. We plan on being return customers!

Steve is a true professional. Our kitchen required a complete remodel and my husband and I knew after our first meeting with Steve that his professionalism, attention to detail, and knowledge of his craft would be essential to carrying out our design. Throughout the project, Steve adhered to a (tight!) timeline, was extremely responsive to our questions and ideas, and proved to be a remarkable craftsman. In addition to the remodel, Steve also demonstrated his craft by building a custom built-in bookshelf to match the existing built-ins in our 1928 home and as he created trim and baseboards to match the original home design. In fact, we found our kitchen project to be so expertly executed that we look forward to working again soon with Steve!

We had the best experience with Steve! Finishing our basement was the first big project we’d pursued as relatively new homeowners, so we were a bit nervous, but Steve really put as at ease. He explains everything thoroughly, listens to what you want out of your project, and is super responsive with any questions!Our project is done on time, and looks better than we ever could have imagined or hoped for! Everything from the tile work, to the painting, to all the fine details really look top notch. It is very clear Steve and his son take pride in their work and don’t stop until things look perfect. Steve did a total kitchen tear out in 2013. the end result was shocking and so worth the challenges that arise with major work I have had multiple family, friends and even service people( ie spectrum, etc ) ask me who did the job.My home was built in 1949 need i say more!!Then after the holidays I decided to do a total tear out of my antiquated art deco bathroom. I was thrilled to find that Steve was still in business. He came over within a couple of days to discuss. And so the process began. He gave me a projected start and my son andI were off and running. First stop Tile Shop, and then visits to many design places for ideas. I want to add I had a very ugly basement powder room that the agreed to fix up. His son did a great job with this and I know there were challenges.Steve is dependable, hard working (12 days straight which included two weekends), has lots of ideas, met with me several times to suggest various ideas, ALWAYS the interests of his customers as his priority and will work around any challenges. He also has a nice singing voice. I highly recommend steve. He is the BEST!!!

Steve completely remodeled our master bathroom.  The new bathroom includes a beautiful neo-angle shower, grab bars, heated tile floor, cabinet style vanity and linen closet, new lighting, and reinstallation of classic clawfoot tub.  We were able to add a few smaller improvements to another bathroom and crown molding in our bedrooms.  Steves recommendations and execution on all the details were flawless.  Details like the floor and shower tile layout, fixture location, and lighting really make the final result spectacular.  Steves work is great, but hes a great guy to work with too.  I never expected to feel like I made a friend after a remodeling project.  We highly recommend Steve to others and are already planning new projects for next year.

Our Contractor – Steve MellorAfter many years of discussion I finally convinced my husband that our kitchen needed to be redone and updated. I met with a few contractors and my husband refused to engage any of them and sometimes even without meeting with them. He came in early one evening from work and met Steve and both them sort of ‘hit it off’. He decided there and then that he was going to work with Steve.Before Steve started work on my kitchen we showed him our finished basement that also needed some updating. Steve looked at the basement, suggested to us what we could do and gave us a quote for the job. Boy, did he deliver. I have since moved my ‘she shed’ to my basement and every time I go downstairs I have a smile on my face and gratitude to Steve.For our kitchen, Steve showed us computer models of what enhancements he would add to the kitchen and gave us a quote. We finally agreed on what we wanted him to do and the costs. Steve obviously knew his job to the finest detail. He worked mostly alone and it soon became obvious that he is a perfectionist in his own way. His craftsmanship speaks for him and he is not willing to allow someone else mar or surly his craftsmanship/reputation. All through the work period, he was always of good cheer and always stayed in touch via text messages. I am absolutely in love with my new kitchen and I now spend time wondering what dish to cook up next.We found his renovation advice pretty well informed. Steve did a superb job in the renovation of our kitchen. We worked according to the timetable he set forth and within the budget he proposed. We managed to find some other extras for him to help us fix around the house. He took all of this in his stride.Steve is decidedly unusual for a contractor. He is reliable, honest and master of time allotment. We never spent a day chasing after him. He was around when he said he would be. Steve took an old, barely lit dungeon cave, and turned it into something I couldnt have imagined. Every day was great tunes, smiles, and incredibly efficient progress until the job was done. Never hesitated to explain his steps or even just educate when asked. Went beyond the scope of work at times to ensure the final product was everything we wanted. Even had our little kids asking us, Is Steve coming back?! Would recommend him 11 times out of 10, because lets be honest; we all need more than that 1 project done!

Recently, Steve completed a kitchen renovation for us, as well as the repair, restoration, & repainting of two bathrooms - all of which were victims of the dreaded “burst water pipe” scenario. The kitchen had to be taken down to the studs, and included an entirely new ceiling, as well, due to the burst pipe having occurred in the upstairs guest bath. It was no small ask or task! Let me just say this: We couldn’t possibly be more pleased with the outcome and finished product. We’ve not worked with a more responsive, courteous, professional contractor, whose finish work is just superb! I must add that Steve also possesses a marvelous sense of humor, which certainly helped to alleviate the stress and overwhelming nature of the situation. He’s also unflappable; his experience shows at every turn.Steve worked tirelessly 6-7 days a week (which is normal for him, not just for our project) to restore our kitchen to better-than-its-former-glory. The amazing fact I must point out here, is that he installed all new cabinetry and kitchen island, appliances, under and in-cabinet lighting, new light fixtures (complete with new junction boxes), arabesque tile (no small feat in and of itself), a new window & trim, crown molding, water filtration system, disposal, plumbing fixtures, AND completed the bathroom tasks, all in just SIXTEEN (16) calendar days!! Did I mention Steve is unflappable? Other fabulous attributes include promptness, a great design eye (suggested glass shelves for the upper glass cabinets to showcase the lighting he installed), patience, cleanliness (cleaned up the work site every single day before leaving, and consistently while he was working), and his integrity – doing things the right way.Our experience working with Steve sparked us to submit to him a list of all the future projects we want to complete in our house. It’s quite the extensive list, and there is no one we would rather have in our home to complete these than Steve Mellor. We cannot recommend him enough.P.S. We’d like to share that we worked with a wonderful kitchen designer over at VP Supply, Jack Maas. He’s fantastic, and we will be posting a separate review with the details regarding our experience with Jack. He and Steve worked flawlessly together, and have for many years, and that was readily apparent.

Steve did a wonderful job on our floors and stairway. Steve communicated with us every step of the way, went above and beyond to respond to my questions, and completed the job on schedule. The end result was beautiful!

We were referred to Steve by word of mouth from a designer. We heard he does quality work and no matter what challenges Steve encounters, his response is no problem! This was our experience, too. Would like to add that he is a stickler for staying on schedule. Although our kitchen was completed a couple of weeks ago, he kindly returned to our home today to do a few small touch ups.We agree with the all of the positive comments his other customers posted on social media. Highlights from our experience include:1) He installed for us a temporary sink to use during the two weeks we waited for the counter top to be fabricated. Steve was just awesome to work with. True to his word, he got the project done extraordinarily fast. Unlike other professionals Ive dealt with, he was great at communicating every step of the way. Steve and his son do phenomenal work. Im so impressed with their work ethic and dedication. They always show up when they say they will and stay until the work is done. I was joking with them that Ive had issues in the past with contractors not showing up - and with them I have to make sure they leave to go home! Steve was recommended to us by a neighbor, and I am very thankful we found him. He did an excellent job remodeling our home, installing kitchen cabinets and island, appliances, hardwood floor all over the house, raising the ceiling by 9 inches and converting our split-up 1950s living room/kitchen area into an open floor plan, by removing the load-bearing walls and installing trusses to avoid having to install any posts. And to top it all, he came in under all the other quotes I had received. He tells you as it is, very easy to talk to and on numerous occasions has guided me in my DIY home repair tasks as well. I asked Steve Mellor to come and give an estimate on making a very old kitchen brand new. I inquired what it would cost to build out a small extension on the house in order to add a powder room. He said let me walk around in here for a minute. Thankfully instead of using my idea he turned a walk through closet into a powder room and even saved enough space for a small closet in the other side of the wall for our coats. He is just what you want in someone working on your home-a perfectionist. I have given his business cards without hesitation to neighbors and friends.

We purchased a resale and lived over 700 miles away while the work was being done. So as you can imagine we wanted a contractor whose shoulder we did not have to look over and who we could trust. Luckily we found Steve. He was easy to work with, meticulous in his craftmanship and our new home house remodeling (kitchen, baths, lighting, electric, floors and painting) was done on budget and on time. His design suggestions (especially lighting) made a big difference in our final remodeling and he was available and prompt in follow up to fix minor flaws and repair an undiscovered roof leak.
