I highly recommend universal transmission. I took my pickup there June of 2020 because it was only driving in 2nd gear. They looked at it and quoted me based on what they could see, and that there were two options and the price was depending on what they saw when they got inside. They communicated well, explain everything well and do quality work. My truck shifts like its brand new even 8 months later. Will be taking all my vehicles here.

Amazing group from office to shop. They give me 110% to fix a problem on my Jeep that I have had for years and had multiple shops look at and this crew went above and beyond and I havent been this satisfied with my Jeep in years.

Kevin is cool. He took me around the block and consulted my issue and shot me straight on my options. He explained the work that needed to be done. And while he could do the work, he couldnt start on it for some time, because he was already slammed with work. So he even recommended another shop, since what I wanted was performance upgrades more than repair. He took his time with me and did not take advantage of me. I appreciate that.

Great shop with great staff! I had to take my truck here after another shop had messed up and couldn’t fix their mistake. They kept in touch throughout whole process. They had my truck fixed and back to me in 7 days!! Highly recommend this shop.

Way to expensive, and heard a lot of bad things about their work

I took my truck in to get diagnosed and they did do a diagnostic on my truck they told me the truck would need a transmission rebuild so I paid them the diagnostic fee. And decided to get a second opinion when I can for my truck we had to pull the truck. One of the workers there came out and said we need to move our truck now that they have a paying customer waiting for us to move ok so what was I?? I paid the price you told me it would cost I didn’t ask for a discount or anything rude people. To top it all off I took my truck to the dealership after the dealership did there diagnostic it turned out to just be a solenoid on the transmission. From universal transmissions price of 4900 some where around there to the dealership out the door cost of 586.87. I would never recommend this place to anyone as they treated us horrible with their customer service skills and didn’t diagnostic it correctly. Seemed like they were trying to scam us.

I was very pleased. Came in for answers on my Transmission.. wanted to know what type it was.... not even the guys at the part store couldnt give me a simple answer.. Its like asking (for example) whats good brand for a windshield wipers for my Blazer? What size is your engine? Ha. You know what i mean.. i would go back.. even when i was only there for 5 mins.. she help alot.. Thanks....

Was told my SUV either needed a new solenoid for $750+ or it possibly needed a new transmission to the tune of $2800-$3200 (estimate only). Took it to a real! transmission mechanic to get a second opinion. Sure glad I did because he found that it was, in fact the solenoid and charged me only $475 for the part and labor! Universal Transmission are crooks and will sell you a bag of goods, if you are naive enough to take one shops opinion! You do not want your vehicle serviced by these greedy people!!!Instead, take your vehicle to Albert at Neighborhood Transmission in Albuquerque ... Youll be so glad you did and you might even be able to afford the repairs!

We took our 2003 Dodge Durango to have it diagnosed as to why our transmission wasnt down shifting or going into over drive. I have read up on multiple dodge forums that dodges were notorious in having the transmission solenoid pack going out. We took it to universal transmission to get a professional opinion and after having them drive it for 5 minutes and running the codes they decided that our transmission was totally screwed and it needed to be rebuilt (with no other option) their quote was $2600.00. Money my family of 6 doesnt have.Anyhow I looked up the codes online and sure enough, it was what I thought it was. The transmission solenoid pack. I went to advanced auto parts, ordered a new one with filters all for $250 and changed it out myself. Guess what ???? MY DURANGO IS RUNNING PERFECT!!! It’s didn’t need to be rebuilt.The transmission is perfectly fine ! They tried scamming us out of $2800.00 !!! Please get multiple options before taking your vehicle here. They are not honest, and WILL take advantage of you.

I am a mechanic who can no longer work on my vehicles. Im on a budget and picky. Universal Transmission was right on from diagnosis to handing me the keys. Even the people (Aubre and Linda) in the office know and talk the language. Im impressed and my 05 Rubicon is strong again!

We paid just over 3k for a transmission to be rebuilt with a year warranty, just after warranty was up the transmission went out. Very disappointed

Fixed my Van and even honored my 3rd party warranty.

If theyre not going to be able to joy ride your vehicle and slam you with a huge bill their customer service goes out the window and their attitude goes with it.

Regardless, if you are here its going to be pricey.
