We used CLC many years ago to design and construct our backyard patio and landscape and we couldnt have been happier with the results. All of the plants and trees they used have grown more gorgeous over time and our backyard is like an oasis. This year we hired CLC to come back and work on a riverbed for drainage and some additional plantings in the front and back yards. Carlos, Ben and Andrew did a fantastic job with every aspect of the project--design, execution, clean-up, etc. They are professional, friendly efficient and very hard-working. I highly recommend CLC. My husband and I hired them to completely design our half acre corner lot from scratch after taking our old house down and building a new home. To start, Dave captured our vision by creating a wonderful rendering for us including a fire pit patio, dining patio, bluestone paver walkways, and planting beds. Our exceptional foreman, Ricky, took over from there to make our landscape dreams a reality! He is a true artist and utmost professional, as was his entire crew. Our yard was always left as neatly as possible at the end of each day. Ricky also leveled our entire yard including the back of our sloped property and created an amazing rockery to help us gain so much more usable space. We were blown away by how expertly and quickly the sod was rolled out and placed over our entire yard, too. Ricky was a perfectionist in the best possible way and the pride he takes in his work can be seen in our beautiful yard. Additionally, he built 3 raised garden beds for me that Im currently enjoying! We cannot say enough positive things about Ricky and the CLC crew he worked with each day! Daniel was in charge of choosing our plants, trees, and shrubs based on the vision we gave him, and he totally nailed it! Our plants look amazing, and the few that didnt take well were replaced within a week of me reaching out to them. Daniel has checked in several times since the completion of our project to be sure that everything continues to thrive and hes given us great tips on how to care for our plants going forward. Nick, Ricky, and Daniel helped us determine where to place landscape lighting that Ricky installed, and the yard subtly lights up so beautifully in the evenings. Although Ive thought about installing a patio for several years... the pandemic forced isolation made me get serious. After fruitless searches nearby, I cast a wider net and found CLC Design on Houzz. Their project photos revealed the sophisticated, understated, harmonious design language I was seeking. Their landscape design process is iterative... and we arrived at a landscape plan I was pleased with. Sadly, their project backlog meant I had to wait a year(!) before they could start building it. So I used the time to shop online for patio furniture and accessories (Crate & Barrel, CB2, Frontgate, Pottery Barn).This is no mom & pop company. One week before they started, they dropped off two earth moving machines and a porta-potty. The neighbors were intrigued. I was intrigued.The project manager - Gary - said to me the day they started Ready? Were going to exceed your expectations. Oh sure, you’re supposed to say that, I thought. Well see, given my high expectations.Jorge and Pastor - cousins with immense experience - arrived and off we go. They carved out the backyard, hand-laid a beautiful rock retaining wall, constructed a dry well and all the subterranean drainage pipes and garden beds, and carefully laid out the bluestone patio... using various grades of stone underneath, and levels to ensure proper drainage. I work from home and saw it all... day by day. These men are craftsmen of the highest caliber... so efficient in their movements, frequently pausing to make adjustments.On plant day, Gary shows up with trucks (thats plural) of plantings. The neighbors gathered to watch an impressive show... Gary using an over-abundance of plants as if painting with a palette of them... adjusting for views from every angle of seating.. and in harmony with his lighting design. He had to shoo away all the spectators so he could carry on.Then.... the irrigation team arrived. I had foolishly told CLC Design I would do my own watering (to save money). Rich - the owner - wisely had me re-consider. Their irrigation company (see their link on CLC Designs website) installed 9 watering zones, which I control via my iPhone.Once the irrigation was laid (including the electric wiring for the outside lighting), CLC Design laid the sod, cleaned off the patio, tweaked the sprinklers, and carried my furniture (stored in my garage) to the patio.As I sat on my patio last night, reading a book, a neighbor - unaware of my presence - brought other neighbors over to give a tour. I didnt mind... I was happy to show off the results.The project was well-managed, well-designed, sophisticated in its many layers of execution, knowledge of stone and dirt and water and plants, realistic timelines and costs, and deserving of my highest praise and recommendation.CLC Design has created a wonderful, understated, peaceful garden refuge... and Gary was right... they exceeded my already high expectations.

CLC Landscape Design did a phenomenal job designing and planting landscaping in the front of our new house! I did a ton of research and their beautiful work really stood out as being a level above the rest. They are a well run, family owned business that takes pride in their work. We worked with Eric from start to finish and he was so kind, patient and responsive. He put a lot of thought into every plant he chose for us and took his time laying everything out to make sure it was just right. I wanted to make a few tweaks after it was done and he happily came back to make those changes at no additional charge. He even went to the nursery himself to hand pick some additional plants that he thought would look nice with our design. We engaged CLC for a comprehensive update of our new home’s landscaping from design to plantings and landscape lighting. Frank’s design work was excellent incorporating many changes, great concepts and unique ideas and a 3D view of the finished product. Rich, Nick, Daniel and the crew then met with us on site to walk through all the details in what was a very useful meeting making some tweaks to the plan. We then had a crew of CLC landscapers that were absolutely outstanding - hard working, meticulous (pruning, tree removal, planting, masonry, lighting, etc). The trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials planted were perfect and high quality. We are thrilled with the final product and the follow up to make sure everything is as we expected has been great. This was Phase 1 - can’t wait to work with the CLC team in the Fall on the rest of the plan, including a pool/spa and outdoor kitchen on a new patio with beautiful landscaping.

I collaborated with CLC last year to develop a creative master landscaping plan for my older home and since then, have been implementing the plan in stages. They recently constructed a bluestone patio in my backyard, and while on-site, installed plantings around my deck, rebuilt a failing stacked-stone wall, and replaced stone steps. While our project may have been a smaller one, we were still treated the same and given the same attention and detail as a much larger project.The design phase of the project was invaluable as the created renderings really helped us envision what the end goal would look like. Next, when it was time to break ground, our initial project manager Alex went above and beyond, even taking time out on a Saturday to go stone shopping with us. When Alex had to attend to a family emergency, CLC quickly adjusted and sent us the dynamic duo of Gary and Pat who immediately stepped in, took ownership of the project, and made sure everything continued to run smoothly. Gary, in particular, was in constant communication with us, keeping us updated on project details and assuring us that everything would stay on track. He’s a Zen master - when he says don’t worry, we’re going to fix this/do this instead/I have a better idea, you just feel confident about the end result. He treated our yard as if it was his own, constantly trying to make everything perfect. We appreciated even the little things he did - like staging plants/trees in the shade to protect them from the hot sun or even coming in on a weekend to water those plants. Everything he did demonstrated the attention, care, and pride in his work. Things would look good to us but not to Enrique’s sharp eye, and he’d smile and go over it one more time just to be certain.Was our project 100% completely smooth? Of course not, no project is, but Pat/Gary/Enrique/Alex and the rest of the CLC team always adjusted, tackled issues, gave us advice, and figured out the best way to solve whatever problem was at hand, which left us feeling at ease. CLC Landscaping completely revitalized the landscaping on my property. I had a combination of dirt and weeds for a lawn and minimal plantings. Rich took the time to personally review every area of the yard with me and wrote up a plan on how best to utilize the property in a creative and exciting way based on my budget. Working with Rich Sr, my project manager Nick, James, and Frank was an enjoyable experience start to finish - from design to installation. After building the house, we installed a significant amount of landscaping and they could not have been easier to work with. The communication was outstanding, they respected the scope of the contract, delivered ahead of schedule, and were very flexible with changes during the project.At the time, we had some other contractors at the property and they worked seamlessly together and there were no issues.Most importantly, the quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. My wife and I are completely happy and satisfied with the results of our backyard project!! Thanks so much to CLC owner and staff who worked with us to get a proper quote/design drawn up very quickly and then helped with quick real-time adjustments/material edits. When work began there were plenty of staff who worked to complete the project in just week or so, even with some very muddy soil due to rain. My job allows me to work-from-home often, so I was there asking the guys to lay specific stones in a certain way, they would simply do it and respond with you are the customer and we have to make sure youre happy with the final product. My husband and I interviewed a few landscape design companies but ultimately decided on CLC Landscape Design which was a very wise decision. Although our front landscaping project was only a one day project, James took on the project with the same enthusiasm and consideration as if it were a much larger project. The front landscape had bushes that were 30 years old and overgrown. We did not want to rip out everything but just freshen things ups. Whereas other companies asked us to pick out our own plants just throwing out ideas, James and his brother, Rich, came up with a design that had an artistic vision which incorporated some of the old plants with the new ones. We were very pleased with the finished project!Everyone at the company was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. They were responsive, punctual, kind and communicated very well especially when we had to put the project on hold due to this past extremely hot summer when planting was not recommended. As soon as the weather became nicer, CLC was right there to start the project. During the removal process we realized some of the older plants did not look right without the other bushes flanking them. James had brought extra plants with him and was able to quickly problem solve which resulted in a great look that we were very happy with.We highly recommend CLC and would not hesitate to use them again for future landscape projects.

We couldn’t travel due to the virus. We decided to update our landscaping in our backyard if we were going to be home a lot. So we contacted CLC Landscaping and told them what we were looking to accomplish. They listened and developed a plan to achieve our stated goals. The completed work is simply amazing! Let me start this review by saying I found it very hard to select a service provider for landscape design. The work is expensive and if it’s done wrong it’s very expensive and painful to fix. I have had that experience twice with other landscape design companies that did small jobs on my property so I was very discerning when looking for a company to design the patio and plantings around my newly installed swimming pool. Trying to find someone with the right combination of design ideas, and the ability to execute that design is a true leap of faith that requires you to put your trust into the provider.We interviewed 7 or 8 different companies, all of whom seemed to be able to do the job. In the end, we selected CLC Landscape Design based on multiple meetings with Rich and his team, and the feeling of trust we had in their design and their ability to execute.CLC interviewed my wife and I to understand what we liked in a design and what we were looking for in our backyard. They came back with a beautiful design that included a dry-laid bluestone patio, and a whole collection of low maintenance plantings surrounding the pool.The work was completed over a week or so and the outcome was absolutely fantastic. The CLC team turned a nightmare of a space into a resort like pool that totally blew us away. As they promised, the team showed up every day, were great to work with and made the process totally seamless.What I really want to share in this review however is what happened a few years later when we ran into a problem.When we installed our pool, the pool company was responsible for back-filling and compacting around the pool in preparation for the patio. Based on CLC’s recommendation we even waited some time before installing the patio to ensure the ground would be totally compacted. After a few years, however we still experienced settling of the patio so I reached out to CLC.CLC came out to take a look and then sent a team back to my house to reset the patio and fix the settling. Even though the issue was caused by the pool installer, CLC stood behind their work and fixed an issue they didn’t even cause. Even better is the team went above and beyond and fixed other things that were just caused by normal wear and tear. Now the patio looks brand new!There are a lot of people that you can hire for landscape design but it is very rare to find a company that stands behind their work and delivers such outstanding customer service. I want to thank the CLC team for an amazing initial design, and even more for helping me when I had an issue years later. The patio looks fantastic!If you are considering a landscape design project, large or small there is zero reason not to reach out to the CLC team. Their design was great, the execution of that design was amazing, and when I had an issue they stepped up to get it fixed. What else could you ask for in a service provider. Really great job!!!

We had a steep slope with a failing retaining wall in our back yard. CLC came fully prepared with thoughtful and professional options to remedy our situation within our budget. We now have a breathtaking boulder retaining wall and peace of mind. Not only is the retaining wall beautiful, it is extremely sturdy. I had the pleasure and good fortune to work with CLC on a recent landscaping project for our home. Not only was the work completed on time, but the finished product far exceeded our expectations. We recently hired CLC to provide a full house design with the first phase being our pool area. From the initial site visit with Eric to the design with Kevin and the meetings with Rich Sr. and Rich Jr., they all took their time talking through what we liked / didn’t like and developed a plan based on our input and their expertise of what would work best in the area. Rich Sr. discussed the final details of the layout and proposal with us and then we met with his son Rich Jr. to review the actual plant choices outside prior to planting. The CLC team took great care in the demolition / preparation phase and even preserved some of our original landscaping to incorporate in the new design. In the end, it looks amazing and we are thrilled with our decision to move forward with CLC.

I huge pine tree died on large visible corner spot of of our lawn. CLC landscaped it with a large rock and a combination of 15 plants to bloom differently for each season. They did a great job and weve gotten compliments from all our neighbors.

From start to finish CLC was first class. From getting back to us immediately for an initial consultation, drawing up plans, budgets and through construction they were very easy to work with. The entire operation is hands on, responsive and professional. We had them redesign our front yard and they insisted on using a lot of the material we already had to save money. Also had them redesign landscaping in the back yard, our back patio and part of the walkway after an addition was put on. The results exceeded our expectations. It was an extremely challenging project due to existing structures and layout. But given their professionalism and expertise they were able to find solutions that created a whole new space that we have received many compliments on already.They also were able to complete the entire project in time for our daughter’s 16th birthday. Keep in mind this was all going on during the Covid 19 pandemic when material and labor was not easy to come by. Special thanks to Rich Jr and his guys for making that happen. Over the past 8 years, CLC has completed several major projects at our home. The fact that we keep hiring this wonderful company is testimonial in itself (we wouldnt even consider another at this point). Work has included installation of a large wildlife pond with waterfalls, hardscaping such as bluestone walkways and steps, stone walls, and cedar trellis-work around a beautiful pea gravel courtyard. CLC exceeded our expectations once again! We first used CLC Landscape Design on our Townhouse in 2012 with incredible results. In 2019 when we upgraded to a home that was in need of some serious landscape upgrading, CLC was the first company we thought to use. The project was a bit overwhelming because of size and design for my wife and I, but Rich Jr. was able to break that down into very simple phases that were easy to grasp, well planned, and executed to perfection.
