Best gym I have ever been to i love training there it’s been an amazing time. Its grate Environment to be in and I felt very comfortable and welcomed there.

I came here looking for a gym and what I ended up finding was my 2nd home. A place where I made life long friends, precious memories, unforgettable nights and THE BEST training ever. I learned as much about martial arts and BJJ as I did about life and how to live it. Sometimes youll hear Dennis the instructor call the gym the mansion because its the place where he can invite the entire family to hang out. That should tell you everything you need to know about this place that he refers to the gym and its members as a home and a family. If you wanna go fast go alone but if you want to go far go together and this team will take you farther in your martial arts journey that you ever imagined.

I went to this gym on a trial and as soon as the class was over i knew this is where i wanted to train. I was overweight and really wanted to find a gym where i felt i belonged and this gym became family from the day I joined. In the first two months of me joining i lost 50-60 pounds and ever since I’ve felt better about myself. Sensei dennis helps keep the team motivated to continue working and improve your skills. I also take the mma striking class and coach mike kim will constantly keep pushing me to get better. Now 7 months into the the program i know i want to be here for a very long time and i cannot see myself joining a different school.

After contacting Rising sun BJJ for my 11 year Niece and she did the trial class, we signed up right away, she loved it. Having trained bjj on and off for close to a decade I can say with certainty that Rising Sun finds a way to create a sense of family and community I have not been able to find anywhere else. The school is home to several black belts and many high ranking competitors that give anyone stepping on the mats several different perspectives to bjj as both a competitive hobby and a martial art used for self defense.

This place is my second home, the people are the best. Dennis Melone is a great instructor who understands the needs of his students. This academy is for individuals who want to learn the art of BJJ. My two sons and I have been training at Rising Sun under Sensei Dennis Melone for over two years now. I have nothing but great admiration for Sensei Melone. I admire his dedication to his students, family and his academy. He is a certified Black Belt under IBJJF and USBJJF. Rising Sun is my second home. I always enjoy coming to train. I am one of the black belts at the rising sun. I have been training jits for about 12 years now. I have trained at two other schools during my journey. My last school before I made this my home was a Renzo Gracie school. Making a transition to any school as a brown belt isn’t easy but Dennis Malone ( my proffesor and friend) made it smooth for me. I have to say it was the best decision I made to continue my training at the rising sun academy. Great place great atmosphere and also great people train here. It’s such a great school with full of amazing people and instructors. Everybody is super friendly and it makes you feel like you are home! You may take 2 classes per day and the room where you train is very big. Also there is a body building room inside of it. if you want to learn Martial art and make new friends,that’s the school you gotta try! 😉

I’ve been at rising sun for 4 years now, and it’s legitimately been the best decision I’ve made. The black belts are incredibly dedicated to their students and it feels like family. I went from wanting to try this as a sport to now actively competing and winning. I can’t thank the staff at Rising Sun enough.

This place is amazing, first off I been training here since I was 16 and Im 24 now (2017) I was formerly ranked top 15 in New Jersey for MMA. I owe all my success to this school and the man who runs it. I am now am trainer, and I must give credit to the school which taught me everything I know.

The professors great. Would really recommene to anybody looking for jiu jitsu and other martial arts.

I for one have struggled with my weight and feeling comfortable for years. I joined Team Rising Sun because of a friend and Im glad I did! I do their cardio kickboxing class. Being surrounded by other women who do not judge you and support you is awesome. The environment there is friendly and comfortable. You start at your own level, youll be surprised at what you can accomplish within a month. Sandra is so sweet and personable. I enjoy talking to her. The best part is Matt the trainer! You can really tell he loves what he does! Every day is different, you will never get bored! You will work a different muscle each day, even ones you didnt even know existed! I also train with him. His attention to detail and dedication is awesome! He literally comes up with routines just for you! Even if you want to give up or think you cant do it, his encouragement motivates you, and guess what! You run through it with ease! This is where you build your confidence! I cant believe I spent years on gym memberships and if I showed up 20% of the time its a lot. Now I look forward to cardio kickboxing and training everyday! And Ill be truthful. I wasnt always like this! Team Rising Sun has given me the confidence and motivation to continue on my health journey! They have adopted me for life, I cant imagine going back to a dreadful gym or anywhere else. Thank you!

Professor Dennis Melone is a stellar Jiu Jitsu instructor. I started going in July and would go every month if I didnt have college three hours away. He offers many different classes for the week and has an inclusive environment for beginners, but takes time to cater to more advanced students as well. My Jiu Jitsu, and overall health, has improved from going to his school.All the men and women who train there are great people, friendly, and make for an excellent training environment.
