Well, although I have not had a bad experience as far as attending the gym, I do have a complaint. When Covid hit, YouFit had closed for a few months and they stopped billing me. However, the gym reopened at some point, not knowing to me. They began to attempt to take payment from my account without me knowing they had reopened. The problem was that I got a new card so they were unable to bill me so know I am in collection for not paying. I was trying to resolve it with no success.

This location is absolutely phenomenal ! So personal so professional VERY WELCOMING ! Trainer Jaylyn is amazing and will produce the results you are looking for . I RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANY AND EVERYBODY ! Health is wealth ! Start at Youfit where “You fit” in!

Incident Occurred 6/9/2019 ~ 11am to 1pmWhen I had one bad customer service experience with a Youfit employee (Employees Name Lilly) I shrugged it off and thought nothing of it. But what happened to me today, which was my second experience with her, I had to let it be known.I usually bring a gallon of water with me to the gym and Youfit has a “No Jugs on Gym floor policy, Jugs are a tripping hazard”, PLEASE SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED OF THE TRIPPING HAZARDS I WITNESSED DURING MY TWO HOUR WORKOUT. There was no staff re-racking weights or cleaning up weight area, this is more of a safety concern then a jug of water. Every other employee (Except Lilly) that works at this Youfit location has allowed me to leave my jug of water at the front desk while I work out. Not only did Lilly tell me that I could not leave my jug at the front desk, but she was also extremely rude and stern when telling me about the policy. Even though she was rude all of what she said was completely okay, I had absolutely no problem with her enforcing their company’s policy.HERE IS WHERE THE STORY TAKES A TURN FOR THE WORST.Lilly was escorting another gym member through the gym. This member also had a jug of water. When this member started to workout, Lilly took his jug of water and she kept it at the front desk. When I brought this to Lilly attention, her response: “He is a new member, therefore I can keep it at the front desk”.ALL MEMBERS SHOULD BE TREATED EXACTLY THE SAME, THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!Just to add a little bit more to the story. There is an issue with Youfits water fountain. THE WATER TASTE AND SMELLS LIKE A WET DOG AND THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY BACTERIA GROWTH. I also brought this to Caitlyn’s attention and she stated there is a work order for that and that I can buy Youfits water if I don’t want to drink out of the fountain. They know they have a problem with the fountain and there is no signage telling gym members that there might be something wrong with the water.This “No Jugs on Gym floor, Jugs are a tripping hazard” policy is probably the dumbest thing I’ve experienced since I started working out over 30 years, it’s an inconvenience. Some people drink ½ gallon to a gallon of water during a workout. Due to this policy and of course the bad customer service, I will be canceling my gym membership as soon as my pre-payment term is finished.Just an FYI to any who are considering joining Youfit. Crunch Fitness at Chesterfield Towne Center allows Gallon Jugs.

I put my account on freeze due to the pandemic. I was told at that time that my account will go on freeze until the establishment has been fully operated. September 2020 I received a text from YOU FIT stating that my account was negative and I needed to contact them as soon as possible to bring my account current. When I log into my account online I noticed that from the beginning of July they had begin to charge the card on file every two days so they were charging my card even when You Fit was not even fully operated. You FIT did not become fully operated until August 2020, according to the young lady at the gym. Before I could call them they had sent the money through on the card again for a total of $88.88 that included a annual fee, a monthly fee and even guess what a late charge. I decided to go in to cancel my membership today and I was charged another $10 to cancel my membership when I proceeded to leave the young lady in the establishment asked me did I have any questions comments or concerns.Ha what a joke she could see I was already upset .I have contacted the General manager with this establishment to request a full refund for the money that they took back . Not once did they communicate with me prior to September 2020 . I didnt get any email, I didnt get a text I, didnt get a phone call I didnt get any of that information from them to say we will start route reoccurring payments in August I didnt get any type of communication until my account was negative. This is poor communication when you freeze a gym membership due to a pandemic.

My son use to work here. I love this gym. Its clean and everyone is chill. Its more personable and smaller less fussy and over crowded like Golds Gym. And people are more focused on their own workout than sneaking looks at yours. Lol. And my son also liked working here better than Golds also.

This is a really great gym. I just needed something smaller, no bells and whistles. The employees were always nice to me and very helpful. It was always pretty open on the mornings too which was a plus for me.

Most of the staff is excellent (the young Latino is especially helpful and attentive). Some could use some small attitude adjustment. Bathroom can be a bit sketchy at times, so Id suggest more attention to them. Very happy with the abundance of cleaning supplies, as few to none bother with the required gym towel rule. Really good equipment, the value is tremendous. But Id pay more to have a sauna.

This is a great gym! For $10 for all the equipment needed to do any workout, no one should complain! It is very clean, and I have always found the staff to be great. I see Josh cleaning in early mornings and have enjoyed chatting with him occasionally.Seriously, for less than 40 cents per day, there is no better deal to be had for getting your fitness goals met.

I know from personal experience that this location is not clean, I use to work here, it’s the reason why I left. Of all the locations in Richmond this has the most minorities and the district manager John seems to be more concerned with how the other clubs were ran because the clientele is mostly Caucasian. This location on numerous occasions has went without cleaning solution!!! So we were filling the spray bottles with water to fool people. This location has went without rags needed to clean the equipment and bathrooms. When I was first hired they took the vacuum to Mechanicsville before it officially opened and it took them over 4 months to return it!! So we couldn’t vacuum ...This location has a major flying cockroach problem they crawl on walls and on the floor while people are working out!! They are too cheap to hire an exterminator they just use home defense but that does nothing when they’re in the ceiling ... This location has went without paper towels on numerous occasions. I’ve seen members go into their cars and get some so they could wipe down the machine they were using. This location for the first 8 months I worked there didn’t have anyone one cleaning the bathrooms past 9am on Friday morning through the weekend until Monday morning at 5am....Things may look clean but when you really stop and look you will see just how filthy it really is... just go into any other location and you will see what I mean. I miss everyone from the overnight shift and early morning shifts I truly enjoyed talking to people and helping motivate people but my conscious just wouldn’t allow me to do it anymore.

Im able to flow from one exercise to another and in the event that option 1 is busy there is always a second option whether its a different machine or a free weight equivalent. Staff is helpful friendly and competent... Would love a sauna though...ijs...

Cheap, but unlike other gyms no one teaches you how to use the machines. They offer Zumba classes and only one knows what she is doing. The others are impostors.

Really impressive layout of workout equipment and spaced comfortable.

Love everything about this gym especially the location...theres not too many gyms in this area. I especially love the fact that when I visit my family in Florida, I dont have to wait till I come home to go to the gym. I can go to a Youfit in Florida. My only request is some of us dont have a babysitting, so we miss out on the classes in the evening

The trainers are fun and understanding. I love them. They make it a friendly place.

I think its perfect. Its a place where people are coming in with the intention of getting healthier, not grunting and screaming while throwing around weight. I can do the exercises I want, not have to weight all that long for the machines and weight sizes I need, and just decompress of the day. Perfect fit for anyone from someone like myself training for Spartan races and warrior dash events to someone just trying to get toned up for the holidays.

Customer service needs to be improved! Its unacceptable to allow me to train there with my friend and front desk knows me, My information is on file and tonight I come to train again and because I left my ID at home, the guy at the front desk (that sees me everytime) said i cannot stay and need to leave because I do not have ID.He did not greet me, all he did was approach me on the floor, after I was let in by the girl at the front desk, and asked for IDI can understand if I was new and this was my first time, but this is not the case.

The gym is nice and clean. Not all of the staff are friendly but Im there to workout. They have a great selection of machines.

Its clean and it has great equipment but that is where it ends. They say they offer group exercise classes but there are very few classes. The schedule changes without notice, i.e. I showed up for Yoga class and they changed it to insanity. Classes start late and end late, Why have a schedule if your not going to stick to it? I am very busy and I rely on an accurate schedule to get my work out in. The price is good but its just bait to sell you their very expensive personal training. As far as the staff goes the people at the counter are friendly but as far as the trainers and managers go, Im not impressed. I guess you get what you pay for.

Manager is all about forced sales and not the customer needs. Also staff didnt properly close my account which withdrew funds from my account. The manager didnt even call to complete the transaction to stop the bill I took the initiative to call and cancel it.

I cancelled my personal fitness training and they still charged me twice, downgraded membership from $20 to $10 and they still charged me the $20! Tried to get my money back for months and all I got was the run around. Finally was told I will get it back and never did. A complete disappointment. Definitely learned my lesson. Watch out, because they will rob you blind.

Nice atmosphere, isnt smelly, wish they would have digital scales in the locker rooms. and how about some freebies such as water bottles, t-shirts, etc for those who come consistanly or loose some lbs.

I cancelled my membership end of June and find out last week that there has been $80 worth of fees taken out of my account for the months of July and August...i had ALOT of trouble getting in touch with a manager to fix the issue. However i did finally talk to one and am still waiting for refund. Very bad customer service and to know that im not the first customer to hav money stolen from me by this company is worrisome!

I had 2 unfortunate experiences, my first 2 visits. Twisted my ankle slightly on steps leading from Womens restroom, heading for main floor on my first visit. Told myself NOT to use the shallow two steps again because they are poorly marked-- No reflection tape or WATCH YOUR STEP notice. Reported this problem to the staff at the front desk as a SAFETY HAZARD. The second week as I hurried to a class, I forgot how dangerous the steps were, caught my heel on the bottom of the two steps and fell against the cement under the handrail, even though I was holding onto the handrail. EMS was called and I ended up at the hospital with injured left ankle and a very painful deep muscle bruise. After 3 days NO ONE from the facility has called to check on my condition. Nor has anyone called to say they have corrected the problem with the lighting or signage for the stairs.

This is a business on the way down before it even gets its real break and all due to poor management. The issues are too long to list, but start with a poorly organized and unknoladgeable front desk and ends with awful management. Save yourself some stress and do not join!

I was over charged and have been waiting three months for a refund. The manager Jeff continues to pass the buck. I will contact the BBB about this issue.
