The Orangetheory Fitness system is a great way for me to improve my fitness in a relatively short workout. The intensity of the workout and the biofeedback from the heart rate monitor allow you to know how hard to push yourself to get the results you want. The studio has great energy and I feel very motivated by both the coach and the other members. I definitely recommend Orangetheory Fitness to anyone who is serious about improving their fitness.
Loved this place from my very first trial class. If you like high intensity workouts with pumping music that work your full body - strength and cardio, definitely try it out! Theres some treadmill, some rowing, and some lifting in every class. Has all types of people, fitness levels, and ages, so clearly a lot of people are having success with it. Heart-rate/effort based, so it works for anyone.
I’ve been going to OTF for over 3 months and I love the work outs and the staff. The gym is clean and the staff is very helpful.
I joined orange theory to help with my transition to graduate school and get back into shape to feel more confident- this place gave me that and MUCH more. Each coach encourages you to challenge yourself and become a better you. I remember my first class was with Katie and I was so nervous but she took the time to walk me through everything and I was hooked ever since. Thank you so much orange theory!!!!!
By far, the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in any industry. The Gold’s Gym where you pay $10 a month is much more customer friendly and accommodating than this gym. This gym is not accommodating to clients’ needs for personal safety purposes, for example, some staff members have easily shifted me around to accommodate starting positions (requesting floor usually bc I am trying to avoid injuries so I can warm up and stretch on floor before getting into extreme workouts, I never ask for rower or treadmill always the floor), additionally, I paid for their body scan which clearly tells me to start on the floor for workouts as well. But lately staff members are just extremely difficult and refuse to even TRY to accommodate. I understand OT has a high volume of clients and are probably doing fine financially, so my business likely does not matter in the grand scheme of things, but truly some of the most atrocious customer service and unaccommodating folks I have ever experienced in ANY service industry. It really is sad bc the coaches are all great; front desk staff, not so much.
I was running FOUR minutes behind my first gym visit - arriving 26 minutes ahead of my first class instead of 30 minutes. They called me exactly at 10:35 and told me I couldnt come. First time out in public and working out after the pandemic, I arranged childcare, and drove all the way over. What a horrible experience, I was SO excited to start a new chapter with them.
Love the classes and the coaches here, every experience is a good one!
Great, challenging workout with a real focus on cardio work and overall fitness. I often leave the workout feeling worn out from the intensity of the exercise, but the pace and format helps the time pass quickly. This is not a great workout if you are looking to put on a lot of muscle, but definitely strong in the overall fitness category, with rowing, running and complex muscle movements with lighter weights. Find an instructor that you really like too because it makes a big difference.
I travel and have visited many OT gyms that have been wonderful. This gym is not. The front desk is rude and not helpful or friendly. You do not get to pick where you start class unless you are a regular or are friends with someone working. It does not matter when you arrive but who you know. When I arrived early asked about starting on a treadmill, I was told those spots are being held. I tried to understand and was met with rude and childish behavior. After I went into the class, because yes she would still not allow me to start where I would like, because she needed to hold that spot in case someone showed up. Which never happened and that stationed remained empty. When I tried to contact a manager to better understand the policies for my next visit, I was ignored and did not receive any response. Do better OT Richmond.
I love orange theory! Katie also rocks as a head trainer and I’m confident Orange Theory will continue to rock with her! Highly recommended for anyone interested in anything from weight loss, fitness and dealing with anxiety or depression. Whatever your level is they work with you and make you feel welcomed.
They have unethical sales practice. I singed up for a free class to try out their services. They ask you for your credit card. After the class they told me I have to pay 28 dollars if I dont pay for 99 dollars package. They forced me to sign up and since already having my billing info I had no choice. In addition, they were rude and very unprofessional. Do not trust them with the billing. I have been to many OT places but this has the worst management.
Always a great challenging and invigorating workout! The coaches are amazing! They are very helpful and fun! The technology let’s you see how many calories you’re burning and your heart rate as you workout!!
I love that every workout is different, but especially that the coaches acknowledge you by name and motivate you individually. It really encourages me and pushes me to work harder. The workouts are fantastic, but the coaches and staff are what make Orange Theory THE BEST!!! Ive never felt more inspired and excited to work out!
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE! From the amazing trainer who is looking out for me and making sure Im doing my best, to the fact that we each get our own area so we can just focus on our own goals etc.with out any distractions from people. Everyone also takes it more serious than any other gym I have ever been too! This is literally exactly what Ive been looking for and I am so excited to see how the next two months are going to be and my results! :))))) Trust me people, the price is totally worth it and its no contract! I was paying more every two weeks at other places and they dont compare to this place!
CASH GRAB.It’s a good workout but WAY over priced. When I got injured and had to quit they made sure to get their one more month of dues even though there was no way I could do their workout. They only care about the money. Have a legitimate injury? Too bad.
The 2 times I have been there, the workouts were taken to the extreme. If you have never worked out or not worked out in awhile and just getting back into it, you will feel sore after a day or 2. I like how they make the workouts good.
I love the music, the challenge, the people, the coaches, you name it. If I could bleed orange I would. Doesnt hurt that my studios staff is amazing and so happy when I walk through the door. My mood is instantly better post workout.
Completely a mess to try to workout at this OTF. Showed up 37 seconds past the “five minute” mark and got turned away. This was after already trying to workout at a previous session. Members here hoard classes so it’s impossible to plan a trip on a short minute notice. The excuse was the “policy” but I’ve seen the policies overlooked for members at other locations who are buddy buddy with the staff. This goes for not charging for monitors like they’re supposed to.
I love the format of the workout and the instructors are great! I wish there was a little more availability, a lot of the classes I want to take are full. I would LOVE to see one open in Mechanicsville so I dont have to drive 30 minutes to workout. Love how it is data-driven and having the information on the monitors really motivates me.
I love the variety of workouts! It’s always new, different, and challenging. It forces me out of my comfort zone, and that’s where I really see results - by doing things I would never choose to do on my own.
I love it all! The OT workouts are the most motivating workouts I’ve ever done. The results are beyond rewarding, (both physically and mentally). I’ve had two kids in the last three years, gained a bunch of weight, and had really pushed fitness to the bottom of my priorities, (when fitness used to be at the very top for many years). It was like I had lost a part of myself. I originally joined to lose my baby weight but OT has evolved into my passion. Many of my friends became members and we’ve had a blast working out together. My husband is now a member and loves it too. It’s part of our daily routine, (who’s got the kids? who’s going to class today? Where’s the sitter?) We are super busy parents of two young kids but we are all about that fitness life! Thanks to the abundance of OT classes available we can make it work with our schedules. The coaches are amazing and work hard to ensure you get personal attention and motivation. I’ve done many fitness programs and gym memberships over the years but none of them hold a candle to OT! Thank you OT for transforming me back to me! #loveotf #liveallout
First off, let me say that it’s almost impossible to get a class….for the more popular times you literally have to monitor when the classes become available on the app, a month out, or you’ll be on the waitlist (and that can become full and you wont be able to sign up for the waitlist either). It’s impossible to “sign-up” for a class within a week of when you’d like to work out. My buddy suggested waking up at midnight to see if any classes open up for the next morning as sometimes people fall off the waitlist late the night before. Secondly, I didn’t sign-up for a “free class” as it was kind of a pain to do online and mainly because I wanted to give the place a real shot. I signed up for the 10 class pass (or whatever they call it) to work out with different instructors and during different times. I asked a friend who I was going with what his first class check-in experience was like and he said all he had to do on day one was to sign a waiver…the whole process took less than a minute so I thought 15 minutes would give me plenty of time. I also didn’t receive any indication (notification on the app or phone call) from OTF that said I needed to arrive any earlier. After my 2 weeks passed (waiting for a class to become available), I walk into my first class and the instructor (or whoever works behind the counter) said that I was 15 minutes late and needed to arrive 30 minutes early so that I could complete paperwork and take a tour of the facility (which you can see from the lobby. It consists of treadmills, rowing machines…normal workout stuff). There was no way around it, she refused to let me work out. We couldn’t find a solution…she just kept saying its corporate policy. We couldn’t complete the paperwork before class and take a tour of the facility later or we couldn’t somehow accomplish all the monumental tasks in less than 15 minutes. And it’s not like the workout facility was empty, they had another class going so the tour wouldn’t have been any different 30 minutes or 15 minutes prior to (or after) my class. So in summary, I paid $200, waited two weeks to get into a class due to the waitlist, and then was turned away to a class I paid for because I arrived 15 minutes early instead of 30 even though I never received any indication from OTF that (30 minute) early arrival was a requirement and my friend (who went to the same location) went through the first day process in less than a minute. The place isn’t worth the several hundred dollar hassle.
Best workout Ive ever had---and Ive been to a lot of facilities. The routine always changes and the competitive factor to get splat points is addictive!
Personable front desk and training staff. Diversity of workouts keeps things interesting. Ability to set PRs in class is a nice perk. Really appreciate everything about it. Even when I travel, I look to see if they have an OTF location nearby to set a workout.
I’ve been a member of Orangetheory for almost 2 years now. I love the workouts, staff and family feel! This location is has wonderful and friendly staff & coaches. Definitely try the workouts, you won’t regret it!
Great workout that goes by super fast! Working all parts of my body efficiently!
Terrific experience. Coach and staff are terrific, equipment is top of the line, and the workouts are well-structured.
I enjoy the team atmosphere.Being a realtor, I like the schedule flexibility.I like having a team coach pushing the team during the workout session.
There is a waitlist for just about every class if you don’t sign up a week in advanced. You are not notified if you get off the waitlist either. The screen was down during my workout today also, so I couldn’t get any of my results. Some of the treadmills have been broken, so at least one person if forced to go on a bike instead. If you want to cancel it must be 8 hours in advanced, so if you get random migraines like me..good luck with that! Good workouts (when you actual get in a class), but the signing up/canceling classes is awful.
Orangetheory Fitness (or OTF) is not for the faint of heart. Classes are intense but exhilarating. The coaches are all very, very knowledgeable, so you get a workout knowing that someone is making sure you have the proper form. There can be a wait list for some classes (e.g. 7am or 5:30pm), but its extremely rare I cant get into a class. Yes, you have to cancel with at least eight hours notice, but that seems fair if youre running a business thats reliant on people showing up. I have tried just about every fitness group/gym in the Richmond area, and I cant praise this program or place enough. Thank you for getting me back to health!
Awesome start of the day for me... Nice staff awesome coachs...Please reduce your monthly charges...
The staff and coaches at OTF Glenside are the best! I love that the workouts are different everyday and always present a new challenge. Prior to OTF, I had never been very interested in group exercise classes and preferred to workout on my own. However, the efficiency of the 1 hour endurance, strength, & power workouts at OTF have allowed me to reach a new level of overall fitness, while logging fewer hours at the gym.The 1 hour workouts make it easier to fit exercise into a busy schedule. I would recommend OTF to people of all fitness levels. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, OTF can help you accomplish your goals. My wife and I love being a part of the OTF community!
Excellent classes and great staff! Can’t recommend enough. For any fitness level.
Completely a mess to try to workout at this OTF. Members here hoard classes so it’s impossible to plan a trip on a short minute notice.
Orangetheory Glenside is the BEST work out I have ever done. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, super motivating, and really make it fun. I love that the workout is different every day, so you never get in a rut. I highly recommend OTF Glenside!
I absolutely love Orangetheory. Ive been going to the Glenside location for 6 months now and I have nothing bad to say about it. The front staff is great and always help me out when I need to get into classes last minute or get on the waitlist if a class is full. The trainers are amazing and very attentive. They correct form and give modifications when needed, and they always have high energy and a positive attitude to keep me motivated throughout the workout.
I like it all. The vibe. The tunes. The fitness progression.
Hands down the best workout around! Awesome trainers, great music, fabulous atmosphere!
Love the Glenside OTF team! Ive been attending 4 classes/ week for the 4+ months, and I can honestly say that Im never board with a workout. All the coaches have their unique personalities (which also helps to keep the workouts fresh) but the one thing they have in common is that they each do a great job of keeping the class as a whole and each individual motivated to do their best. As someone that started at OrangeTheory while I was in the worst shape of my life, I never felt the intimidation that can come to people joining a new gym. Coaches and other members alike all made me feel 100% comfortable with doing my personal best. Their out of the gym socials and other monthly events help you also make personal connections with the coaches and other members. Keep up the great work!
Do not ever sign up for orange theory. They harrass you with phone calls, voicemails, and even texts attempting to make you sign up for classes once you begin the sign up process. They have very strict and unfriendly staff who are completely not understanding for anything. If you like being harassed by staff, sure, sign up. Complete rip off.
Great place to work out. Good people
I was a division I athlete. I’ve spent basically my whole life being told what to do as far as workouts. Once my playing days were over, i was also done with being told what to do and when to do it. Big mistake haha. I’d go on runs, joined a $10/month gym, and those things were fine, I thought. But a few years later, I was heavier than I’d ever wanted to be, unfit, bored with my workout routine, and not very happy. Turns out I need structure, but I also like to have fun, and can’t be bored, or I’ll move on. OTF checks all of the boxes. I genuinely am excited to go, I hate when I have to miss a day, and I’ve never seen the exact same workout. It’s been a year. My body has changed drastically, I’m stronger, fitter, and a hell of a lot happier. My favorite coaches quickly became my favorite people, and my need for a competitive and challenging environment is fulfilled every single time I go.Anytime someone asks me about orange theory I invite them to come with me. I wasn’t a believer until I actually showed up to a class. So while I’ll praise it all day long, the proof is in the process and I’ll gladly bring anyone into the OTF fam. It’s a fun place to be.
I saw an ad on Instagram to try a class out for free (like many of the other fitness centers out there i.e, title boxing, f45, youfit, etc.) I booked a class over the phone and before the conversation ended she stated that she needed my credit card information to hold my spot. ??? I find this quite odd to require of a person who is simply trying out a free class. None of the other locations that offer trials/free classes do that. Needless to say, I was unwilling to provide that information over the phone and thus was unable to try the gym out.
Lost 70 pounds since March 12. This place has changed my life.
I love OrangeTheory! Always a great challenging workout, and all the coaches are awesome!
Good trainers. Really good atmosphere.
The best one hour workout!
Great location in the near west end.
Great instructors, well run!
Challenging. Different each time 👍
Staff is pretty rude in this franchise
Not that great place to be there
