I just recently moved to Richmond and was looking for a barbershop...everywhere I was looking was literally $40 or up for a haircut & beard trim. But I was pointed towards Pine Street Barbershop where I got haircut, beard trim, AND wash/shampoo for ONLY $29.I had my haircut done by Theron who was professional, kept me entertained as we talked about various things, and did an amazing job by with my hair/beard by paying attention to very fine detail and making sure I was very happy.I would definitely recommend Theron and Pine Street Barbershop.

Greatest hair salon in Richmond. Highly recommend Theron and Janice!

Been coming here for 15 years and had 4 different stylists over that span; no matter who is working, they consistently offer friendly service and great haircuts for reasonable prices. Sara and Janice also successfully did my and my mothers hair styling for my wedding for a fraction of the price of a typical womens salon.

Ive been going to Pine Street for many years (even before they moved). I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else. Its kinda like Cheers where everybody knows your name. The haircuts are perfect, the coloring services are top notch, they sell quality high end hair products and they even offer massages. What more could you want?

Ive lived in Richmond for almost two years and I hadnt found a barber that I really liked until coming here. Rosalie was the one who cut my hair/beard, she did a fantastic job and was very friendly. Great experience overall, I highly recommend!

My favorite place to go for a haircut in the city. It is easy walking distance from anywhere on VCU and is a very cozy place. All the staff working there have been nice and I have never had a complaint about any of my haircuts. Plus the student discount is a nice touch.Just FYI, reservations are needed so be sure to call a few days in advance.

I have long, thick hair that stylists love to be creative with. I hate that. When I come in for a cut I tell them exactly what I want and expect to get what I ask/pay for. Since living in Richmond (a couple of years now) I have been to a few different stylists. All but one took professional liberty with my hair, cutting it how they like it and assumed I would like it once I saw it (even though I was very specific with my requests). Last time I literally left in tears at a different salon. There was one stylist I didnt hate, but it was $84+ tip for just a cut. A friend recommended Rosalee so I figured it couldnt be worse than my last cut! I love Rosalee!! She did EXACTLY what I asked her to do. I am not sure if she liked it or hated it, and I dont care. She did what I asked for and that is what I think a true professional should do. The price was also more than reasonable and I am excited I finally found my stylist in Richmond! I do like her style though, so after a few more cuts I may give her some professional freedom.

Pine St. Og since the 80s. Always Great stylists, both in skill and personality. Have never once had a bad cut. The only time I did was when I was a boy and i went somewhere else. What a mistake that was.. pine st till the death of me!! And then theyll make sure I die fly to death!

I can verify all the glowing reviews about this place. Its unassuming and friendly, and Rosalee gave me exactly the cut I was looking for at a fair price. Ive tried a few other affordable places in Richmond, all of which are good but inevitably raise their prices and/or are impossible to book on short notice; Pine Street is my new go-to.

Mike and his crew have been cutting my hair since 1968, believe it or not, since they were the campus barbershop at UR, bunch of freeks with long hair cutting hair for preppy boys in ties and blazers, had replaced a bunch of black gentlemen who wore starched white jackets. I went in to check them out, kept going back, and stayed with Mike when he moved to Pine Street. RoseLea cuts my hair now, Mikes got the best crew, we all love him, ancient like me and kids, too...

I havent had a haircut at a place other than Hair Cuttery, but I love Pine Street Barber Shop. My haircut was exactly what I asked for and Sara was so nice and we had a great conversation while she was cutting my hair. The price was also fantastic, as its only $24 for students.

Do it. After not having a haircut for over a year I was recommended to Carrie by a friend. She gave me all I could want in a haircut after blabbering on about what I thought I wanted. And to top it off, no awkward small talk, only good conversation with a cool person! Great salon, cute inside and out. Cheap! In two days I have had Michelle Obama and Joan Jett compliments. Jealous? I bet you are.

Been going here for years, a great old timey barbershop in Oregon Hill that was a marvelous accidental discovery. I will continue to visit them until whenever I leave Richmond! All the barbers are delightful and accommodating. You should call at least a day ahead to schedule an appointment, but they do take walk ins. Just be aware they are a very busy place and usually only have 2 barbers at a time working. They display local artists work on their walls and give student discounts on haircuts. Very close bike ride to VCU. Never had a cut I didnt like!

This is everything you could ever want a barber shop to be and I cant imagine going any place else....ever. This was my first haircut in many years and this place was awesome. Great interior with old school barber chairs. PSB is in the heart of Oregon Hill and if you are a guy in RVA this is the only place to go. If Andy Griffith were a hipster, this is where he would go.

I started in the 80s (when Michael still had some hair) and continued with Shiela, then Cupid, then sort of a shared haircutting experience with Cary and Theron. Cary cut and colored my hair until she decided to become a full-time surfer girl in CA so now its the lovely Sarah. Im in good hands no matter which one of the crew works on my hair. I wouldnt go anywhere else for a haircut if they paid me to do so. You know how it is when you go into some salons? They look you up and down and you feel about 1/2 tall. That NEVER happens at PIne Street. It reminds me of Cheers where everybody knows your name. I couldnt recommend it any higher!
