Extremely pleasant experience despite the reviews here. Walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice older woman. It was my first time being at this location and she was nice enough to direct me to where I could fill out address forms. Folks who came in after me were also in and out rather quickly.Once finished with the label, I hopped back over and she rung me up rather quickly. Verified everything and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes. Overall, Ill definitely come back to this location whenever I need to ship something. Super convenient and very nice staff.
Never had an issue until now after living here a year. The first package somehow ended up in Savannah after being received by this post office. Next week informed delivery stated it was in my mail box. I guess someone else is enjoying it now because I do not have it.
I was at the post office the day that Lee Pates handicapped daughter was at the post office. I felt bad for her, she couldnt understand that because of the pandemic she was just like everybody else now, stuck in an over extended mail system trying to keep up with the demand. She was upset because an automated post office phone system had told her that her packages were at the Richmond Hill post office, so she drove to Richmond Hill. When she got there she was was told that they were not there but that they were in Savannah. Lee Pates daughter was very upset because she could not make the drive to Savannah before the post office closed, and she took a very rude demeanor even though Carla was just the messenger. I never heard Carla say a mean thing to Lee Pates daughter. Carla has been at this post office for as long as I have lived here, and she is a very sweet and helpful woman. Lee Pates daughter should not have been so rude to Carla because she got bad information from an automated system, not an actual human being. I am not defending the post offices phone system, just speaking up for Carla because I have never in 17 years of bringing her packages has she been anything other than sweet and helpful to me. Thanks for being so awesome Carla!
My daughter physically handicapped went to pick up a package and a woman named Carla was the most rude person we have ever come in contact with. She asked if she was from the trailer park and was told no a residential neighborhood in Georgetown . My daughter asked why, well if the shoe fits was Carla’s response . This woman should lose her job .It’s no wonder why they are billons of dollars in debt and have their hands out for more tax payer money. The government worker they hire aren’t worth the time of day especially this female dog
Despite all the negative reviews that many people like to leave for this Post Office, I completely disagree! The ladies here have always done a great job for me and my family over the last 5 years that we have lived here and they continue to do an excellent job! Our favorite Mail Lady Angela is always sure to take good care of our mail and I have Always been able to count on her for All of our mail needs. :) Thank you all for the great work you do here in Richmond Hill! 😁👍🇺🇲

I live in Guyton GA but one of my packages ended up here for some reason. I called this office and the woman who answered the phone and looked for my package was wonderful! She was so kind and helpful. She found the package and I was able to come pick it up. USPS is absolutely swamped right now due to COVID and the holidays so we all need to be patient and understanding. I wish I could remember the woman’s name who helped me. She could’ve easily brushed me off and told me to be patient and wait for the package to get to my house but she didn’t. She went out of her way to find it for me. Great place and wonderful people!
Worst post office EVER! Sorry I HAD to give the one star. From missing packages to rude and unprofessional staff. This “place of business” is totally unacceptable.
The Post office in Richmond Hill, GA is outdated and cannot adequately support the burgeoning population growth here. The current Postal facility needs to be torn down and a new one quadruple in size and parking needs to be built.I go to the UPS store to drop off my USPS packages for shipment. I would rather pay a few extra dollars than have to go to the Richmond Hill Post Office and deal with the crowds and sullen staff that are worn out due to the bad behavior of their customers who had had to stand in line for an hour for service. The current Post Office is way past its prime and has gotten rotten. Way past time to replace it.
Hands down absolutely the WORST post office I have ever encountered in my life. Lost mail, marked delivered but not delivered, delivered to the wrong address.. name it. Customer service at the facility is so bad, its terrifying. Everyone I have ever encountered there is incompetent to the point where you wonder how these people survive in real life. Rude, cant answer simple questions, cant locate packages, have no idea what in the world is going on. Horrendous. I have never worked in a post office but it really doesnt look like you are landing a spacecraft on another plant. Its just mail, not Mars Pathfinder. I think that being so uncompetent, unhelpful, rude and arrogant should be considered a crime in the customer service industry. Please avoid at all cost and pay the extra few dollars to ship elsewhere.
I accidentally ordered a package to be shipped to my street address but left my billing city and area code (Richmond Hill). I didnt catch the postal workers name but I called and she was able to leave a note for the sorters and they changed the address on my package. I appreciated it so so much, Thank you!
Unfortunately I have to put a star on here.In house, service is pretty good, I have never had any issues. But if you need to get someone in the phone, you may as well hold your breath. It’s like an act of congress trying to get to talk to someone.

We have a wonderful mail carrier named Javier that is very polite and goes out of his way for the customers on his route. Even with my extra online shopping during this pandemic. I’ve also dealt with an Angela before when calling about a package that was running late. She responded back immediately, was very polite, and called me personally to let me know where it was held up in the system. Rain, shine, or even pandemic- our Richmond Hill Post Office is about service and is always there for us. Thank you.
Good luck literally ever trying to get someone on the phone. I call and let it ring 20x until they get the hint Im not going to give up.I may get my packages, I may not. They have some sort of vendetta with Amazon and if anything thats been ordered is transferred to USPS, I just wont ever get it. They want to hold on to it, and charge you to pick it up. Theyve also delivered mail to my house before, knock on the door and asked for a check for the extra however many cents they determined the postage should have been. The whole thing is bizarre.

Stellar customer service was provided helping me fix a mistake I originally made. The postmaster went above and beyond to ensure my package was delivered to me! I have never had an unpleasant experience when I go into this location. I get taken care of with a smile and an upbeat attitude every single time.
Well, I see I am not alone in the disgust of how this location is run. Back in February I was missing a car title that was mailed to me from Alabama. I had the sender check with the post office there to find out what had happened to it. They assured the sender that it had been delivered. I went to this location and was told the same thing. It is now July 25th and I just received it. The INCOMPETENCE is STRONG here! This almost cost me fines for not having the car transferred in the legal amount of time, and caused MAJOR stress. The Government should not be running their own lives, much less anything else. The worst thing to ever happen to our schools and postal service was allowing the INCOMPETENCE in Washington D.C. take them over!
This Post Office never answers the call and is very difficult to work with. They are unable or unwilling to give me the key to my mailbox.

This message is regarding a constant and ongoing issue with getting a letter sent to a Richmond Hill address. I have had this issue for the past 5 yrs where our postage sent to Richmond Hill never gets delivered. The simple fact almost every other month I get a call of letter not received. I cannot tell you the number of stamps, checks and envelopes go wasted again these 5 yrs. From here on in I suggest anyone mailing a letter to this town gets tracking. Because at the end of the day they will be forced put a little effort in their job. And if this doesnt work I will request a signature.
Absolute worst.Convenience, service, and overall experience...Id give them zero if possible. Aside from my opinion, factually, I have scheduled 2 appointments with them for passports only to be called just prior cancelling for various reasons.

This post office somehow lost my wife’s absentee ballot, yet mind arrived at the intended location.
My package to Vietnam was lost, so I came here to ask for a refund. The manager was exceptionally polite and processed my refund quickly. I understand that it is frustrating when our packages are lost; however, human errors cannot be avoided. The contract you signed explicitly says whether or not they would refund you if the package get lost. If you are sending something valuable/in a hurry, do the 1st class one :D.-1 STAR: there is no way to reach out to them via phone. It is annoying to have to make multiple trips and get my refund processed.
I’m scared to order anything of usps since it’s a 50/50 shot of packages not arriving at all or the best one I got today a EMPTY package that looks to be purposely ripped open with no items that I bought in the package..... oh wait there’s more so I have a big mail box and the mail person decided to try to hide the package by shoving it underneath the letters in my mail box..... so gotta love this place
The delivery driver in our area is older and doesnt even wear a uniform (if its required). Multiple times Ive called to have my package delivered and she refused to bring it because its 40 lb. Even though Ive mentioned Id take it off the truck. She doesnt even knock at the door. Ive been here for only two weeks and already the worst service Ive seen.
If I could give them no stars, then thats definitely what they deserve . Customer service is a joke, youd figure for it being an important job, that theyd have the best of the best working there - but no . The workers are rude, the delivery people dont know how to properly deliver a package to the right house, and NO ONE answers the phone . This really is such a shame . Wish they hire a whole new group of people who can actually follow through with their job(s) .
I was expecting a box to arrive Sat. I was going to be gone and I knew it had been delivered to their post office via UPS. I went in and after they closed all the workers looked for my box... Special shout out to them for going above and beyond!!! Thank you RH post office team for the excellent customer service!!
Absolutely awful service, packages constantly delivered late, address change has been seemingly ignored, just an awful and difficult time dealing with them. Be nice if FedEx and ups completely took over ALL mail service and save taxpayers money by shutting them down. Too much to ask for them to get their fat lazy asses out of the truck to put a package on the porch, instead I get a sorry we missed you note....you didnt miss me, you just didnt let me know you were here.
Horrible they said they delivered my package, I went to get it and the package was not there I came to ask about it and they acted as if my package wasn’t an priority and I still don’t have my package.
At least a few times a month a package is marked delivered but either shows up days later or not at all. There are also consecutive days where our neighborhood doesnt receive any mail at all as if we are skipped entirely. The staff is friendly but the service needs major work.

This place is a mad house. No one knows what they are doing. I have submitted 4 address change since November because for some odd reason every single one of the address changes I have submitted have been in fact confirmed but not given to the person delivering the mail. I even handed one to the post master and she even said that she personally would submit it yet again we are now in the end of February and ALL my packages are still being sent to my old location. I own a business it is crucial that I get my mail. So disappointed. Now I am on my way to go waste more time there and have nothing done.

This place is the worst. They delivered my moms birthday gift to the wrong post office box when it clearly had her name and the correct box number on it. Its going on 3 weeks and they have not found the package nor have they returned any of my calls in reference to a package they lost!
It says on the website open at 8:30. I actually let the phone ring most of the time. Tracking a package that was not my address since we were home and tracking says left notice. This is my medicine that the Insurance company wants us to do now. WHERE ARE MY PILLS!!!!!!

The least you could do is do the job that we, the taxpayer, pays you to do and not act like we, the community, are such a burden on your daily lives! This town isnt that big, it shouldnt be that hard!!! Update: One of the remaining of the packages were to be delivered today and once again they claim to be left by my door and guess what??? NOTHING there!!!! So we have received 1 of the 7 items shipped (not by our choice) through this post office!!! Thank you for single handedly ruining my sons birthday as all of his presents were shipped and 99% of them disregarded by this incompetent hole!!!!
Hands down the worst post office Ive ever encountered. They rarely deliver packages on time, and theres no accountability for the mail carriers to deliver it. If it is a package that entails getting out and walking to the front steps, forget it. Theres a good chance you wont receive your package.
Worst experience with a post office! This is the 3rd time in one month that they have either put my mail in someone elses mailbox, or sent it to a completely different city altogether. Never had this many issues before in my entire life. Severely disappointed.
I have dealt with some bad post offices in the past before moving to Richmond Hill, but this office is the worse in every way possible. I usually, not always, get my mail during the week but if I have a package being delivered on a Saturday, it just isnt going to be delivered. When packages are delivered the delivery driver just tosses them on to my porch. If you have any important paperwork or pictures, it will be folded and the door left open on the mailbox so that everything gets soaked and ruined in the rain. Dont waste your time calling and complaining. If someone does answer the phone you would just be wasting your breath. Clearly nobody who works here cares.
I received a package from my daughter in Hawaii and all of the items were stolen but one. They were silk scarfs so they cannot be replaced...Both ends of the package were open and damaged without a note or concern from the delivery person!
Seven out of eleven packages I shipped for Christmas are lost or delayed out of this post office. That is a 64% failure rate. Awful. Two stars only because the supervisors I have dealt with, Karla & Angela, are kind and helpful. Nathan is rude and condescending. He refused to even acknowledge there was a problem. With a 64% failure rate, you should have some humility. I do fault the Supervisors for not doing something about these issue. I understand its difficult with government workers but, these problems are not going to fix themselves.
Average hold time 34 to 50 minutes in an effort to speak with someone. Totally unacceptable. No wonder they are losing money. I cant believe they have the gall to ask for a survey.

WORST post office ever. We never get our packages delivered, they constantly are going to someone elses house. Luckily we have honest neighbors who drive it over to our home, but people should not have to do that, its the post offices job to GET IT RIGHT!And the icing on the cake- when you sit on hold with them they hang up on you after waiting ten minutes to speak with someone and find out where your item is.Yall honestly dont even deserve the one star option.

I just received the worst customer service today. You would think at the Post Office that the clerk would be able to assist you with all matters concerning your package. I received the run around on how my box was not taped down properly. I am sorry but I think you are the one that handles boxes and packages on a daily bases and I am paying you for a service, would that not be your area of expertise, or just too much to ask to assist the customer in ensure the box is secured? It was not very busy in the Post Office, because I usually give a pass if they seemed overwhelmed because we all have bad days, but geeeeez!
Savannah has the worst post offices I have ever encountered. I live right outside Richmond Hill and this is the best post office I have been to thus far. I come here quite often.
I went there for a couple of reasons and before I could even finish explaining the first, I was asked my address and told that I could not be helped because they only serve Richmond Hill, GA. I have never heard that you have to live in the same city to even be treated like a human being in a post office. The employee (a small framed African American man) was so rude that I was embarrassed. He said you know we are in Richmond Hill, right? You live in Savannah. We only serve Richmond Hill. Go to Savannah.
If I could give a 0 I would. The people is the office are ok, but the deliverymen are lazy. I do not get packages because they are too lazy to get out of the truck and knock on the door to deliver a package. Instead they say no access to the house and take it back to the post office. I can not have anything delivered that does not fit in the mailbox. Horrible service.
Worst mail delivery ever !!! My mail is always going to wrong houses, lost many of mail that way, even parcel from overseas. How hard is it to read the address label correctly? When I get a slip in the mailbox with an sorry we missed you ... while being at home and even hearing the mail delivery truck outside my house I get very angry. IF THEY WOULD HAVE DONE THEIR JOBS RIGHT they would have noticed that I WAS in deed at home and had no problem answering the door IF THEY WOULD HAVE RANG MY DOOR. The Office manager obviously dont care since I brought this issue up to her many times. And this complaint doesnt even mention the statue that was broken by the delivery person or the many times they blocked my storm door with packages where I had to go thru the garage just to get to the front of my house. And why does this issue continues and doesnt get fixed? Because you have an not caring or capable Management !!!
First off, Nathon is absolutely rude.I have been coming here for a long time and after my service with Nathon, I never want to return. Unfortunately, its the only post office thats close by for a quick mail out for my business. I have never seen him before, until today. He is highly unprofessional when dealing with people, and needs to learn how to be more specific on who he is talking to when calling on the next in line. I wasnt the only one in line today who thought his actions was disrespectful.
This is the worst post office in the world! We have put in 5 address change forms and even changed all the address to have stuff delevered to the correct address. They still screw up all our packages! Now the mail lady is throwing our packages on the porch or wont leave packages because they have to get out the truck! Sadly this review will get us no where as we have to use them

OMG!! I have reported this post office several times due to my mail ending up in someone’s box.. They constantly put my mail in other people’s box which includes my bank information and VA documents.. I only been here two months and I could imagine how these few years will be.. I’m so ready to PCS somewhere else..
This post office is just awful.While they have good customer service over the phone, my carrier is either completely clueless or completely incompetent.Ive never had a problem receiving packages here since I moved into the area in July. Then all of the sudden my packages stopped coming (but I was still getting my regular mail). This struck me as odd so when I went to check the tracking information for FOUR different packages that I had not gotten and they were all marked as Undelivered because addressee has moved. I have been living in this house for almost four months and have gotten ALL other mail.When I called the Richmond Hill Post Office to ask why they werent delivering my packages, the supervisor I spoke with told me that the carrier said the house was vacant for two months so she didnt know who was living there. Keep in mind, the carrier is still delivering all the other mail to the house.The best they could do was give me an informational card so they knew who was getting mail at my address.....after my FOUR packages had been returned to all senders and Id been waiting on these items for over three weeks.Seriously....these people obviously have no idea what theyre doing.
Mail is never in my p.o. box on time. It will say delivered and I get there and its not in the box and wont be until at least the next day. Or it says its available for pickup and they wont even go to the back to find it. Worst post office Ive ever dealt with. Serious changes need to be made.

I was there when the line was out the door at 9 AM on a Friday. 9AM. There was only 1 person working. I was told to expect the wait to be about a hour to a hour and a half.....REALLY?????

Worst Post Office I have been to. It is not a pleasant place to visit mostly because of the people. Additionally, the office takes passports but posts no information about it in the store, including hours and the requirement for appointments. We were also turned away because the woman in charge of passports is not familiar with the regulations, nor is she helpful or friendly.
Expected a package on Monday, Watched mail truck deliver mail and ten minutes later I get a notice on my phone that package was delivered. It was not. As of Wednesday still no package.
This is the second time within the past week that I got something from amazon prime and they have not delivered it on the day they told the seller on amazon and amazon itself that it had been delivered. Today again I ordered two items that are posted on amazon as ha omg been delivered and in my mailbox. They are not there. They are not upholding their agreement with amazon and are telling them they have been delivered when they have not
HORRIBLE, will not answer phone, attitude with manager, and MOST staff. The counter is always understaffed during peak periods during the day.
I literally just got a PO box here this month and had two packages delivered there and they have sat for 4 days. No notification, no attempt to put it in a lock box and put the key in my box. Cant get there in time during the week, no answer to phone calls. I want a refund and take my business to UPS store in Berwick.

Always dissatisfied with the service. They never leave notes that indicate if a signature is required, and those packages get returned. Also keep getting other neighbors mail. Very disappointed.

I have encountered three different counter staff employees while mailing items and each one seems unhappy, unpleasant and annoyed by anyone who walks in. I dislike coming to this location and prefer to drive all the way to the Pooler location.
